Ribs, sides and pulled pork sandwich

This place is typical BBQ decor. Staff are very friendly, bathrooms are clean. My husband ordered ribs and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. We had various sides including grits, collards, and beans. The ribs looked great but were so dry he couldn't eat them. My pulled pork was also dry but I used a lot of sauce to make them more edible. Our very nice waitress noticed the ribs weren't being eaten and offered my husband something else but he declined. So she took them off the bill. Sides were all good as were the hush puppies that came with the ribs. We really wanted to like this place and have been seeking a top notch Bbq place since moving to the Asheville's area a few years ago. Sadly this isn't it.

This is the last review of 2025 I will ever write. Along with acceptable service and ambiance, I treated myself to a true New Year's barbecue. I got the Smokehouse Trio (which is three meats and two sides) consisting of apple bourbon burnt ends (diced brisket deep-fried and tossed in apple bourbon sauce, which is made with brown sugared apples), sausage, and half a rack of ribs, served with fries and BBQ beans, as well as a side cup of the Kansas City Kicker sauce, which is smoky BBQ mixed with hot sauce. The burnt ends were incredibly tender without being too sweet. The sausage was super juicy and moist. The BBQ drizzle on the ribs provided added flavor. The beans had a little pulled pork, which I appreciated. The fries were not very crispy, but they were well-salted and even better flavored with the Kansas City sauce, which provided a slight kick. Overall, this is how a foodie ends the year.

What a gem in Burnsville we were there for a wedding and had an amazing brunch here. Everyone gets a little cinnamon bun appetizer on the house which was delish. We each got a meal and just had to get the waffle with the peaches to share and it was SUCH a good idea - incredible. The service was fantastic and the whole restaurant is warm and inviting. Highly recommend as soon as they rebuild after the hurricane

I stopped in for breakfast and the food was amazing. I had a special a cream filled fried donut topped with pecans, bacon and raspberry drizzle. It was perfectly fried, the edges had that delicate crisp that melts away. My only regret is I couldn't take it with me.

I'm sharing 2 meals we had on 2 different days. We loved the breakfast meal. The service was fast and the food was delicious and temperature hot. The supper meal still had fast service but the items weren't as much to our liking and items weren't very warm. For the most part the only thing not liked was the chicken, beans and collards. It was most likely a personal preference due to lack of seasoning. We would definitely go back and try other items bc the menu is full of choices. But you don't want to miss out on the breakfast, for sure! We loved the sauces and enjoyed them with both meals.

This is a hidden local gem . As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with the cheerful kind staff. The place has a cute southern ambiance and is super clean. The food was easily the tastiest and cheapest BBQ I have ever had . We had the Mac& cheese kettle with a brisket.. delicious , and the rib rack with the smoked sausage is a must try. Also on every table there are 6 BBQ sauces to choose from, which are all delicious. So there is definitely something for everyone.

Wish I had taken a picture ! Good was amazing ! Had pulled pork, charred corn on cob and collards. All delicious. I want to go back and try the catfish. The lady beside me had it and said it was great! Will definitely go back.

Rise & shine - this cozy establishment opens at early for locals and adventurers alike, all seeking a taste of small town goodness. They have seating inside and out. The friendly servers whizzed about making sure everyone was taken care of. We couldn't resist indulging.... It's hard not too when your greeted with a warm cinnamon bun and coffee before you order. Our breakfast feat included strawberry short-cakes topped with a velvety cream , biscuits & gravy with eggs -n- hash brown casserole. The dishes arrived piping hot and there was endless cups of coffee flowing. We rolled out of there - hands down, it was the breakfast of champions.

Cinnamon rolls to start!!...that's how I'm gonna start my review! This hidden gem hit the spot! From the food to the warm atmosphere of a mom and pop to The menu with just the right selection of for a big southern breakfast to satisfy your party. Fried green tomatoes are a MUST and don't forget to order a side of ranch! To finish, the banana almond French toast, it SMACKED! We also very much appreciated their efforts and in keeping their restaurant clean during the pandemic.

Carolina BBQ! Hubs and I stopped in for dinner before going to Homeplace down the street. There is plenty of outdoor seating so we sat in the uncovered area as the covered porch was packed. It was a nice day out so we enjoyed it. Dinner wise we had the fried green tomatoes to start. It turned out to be a sizable app. Nicely fried with cornmeal. Hubs ordered the smoked turkey, which he found delightful. The coleslaw was his favorite part and he ate it up. I ordered the ribs, which were tender and smokey. The okra side was just okay. The banana pudding is everything! Order it! Love the hushpuppies here as well! Tip dogs are welcomed on the patio.

Second visit to the kitchen, and with food this good, there will definitely be more in the future!…read moreWe visited on a very cold morning, and orders are placed outside on the porch before entering. That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!
