I came here as part of a bachelor party for dinner and drinks while we waited for everyone to get into town. Look to start the beer is incredible and so cheap. Like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and if you don't like it you're only down a few bucks. Additionally, they have live music and the views of the mountains are so pretty. They also have tasty food available so there's pretty much no reason not to go and have a great time while you're in Black Mountain.

I LOVED Black Mountain Brewing. They have a wall-sized mural of Roberta Flack, who is a native of Black Mountain, on the outside of their building. We stopped here to have a few beers and unwind after a day of exploring Black Mountain and Asheville. I had the Blackest of the Mountains and my BH had Koda Chrome, both were amazing. They have a huge two story patio on the back with a food truck, serving up delicious BBQ. We will be back!

Great brewery in one of the best little western NC mountain towns. They have a covered roof deck, a lower deck and limited seating inside. I have been here last year and enjoy their brews and the smoker food truck out back. This time I sampled the smokey dark brew Velvet Ember and had the stout. Both are excellent -- I shall return soon.

after dinner next door I was trying to decide if I wanted to stay over for sunday brunch... saw a wall full of Roberta Flack on the other side of the parking lot and figured I should do my figuring there. stepped in to a dimly lit bar with finishing tanks behind and a menu of sorts up front. noticed a choice of sours and asked for a taste of each, the Momentary Bliss tasted strongly of french toasts and blueberries and looked vaguely of transmission fluid whereas the Farewell Transmission looked like maple syrup and tasted like it was going to sneak up on me later and sell me a watch... so yeah, after sampling the shorties I knew it was going to be one-and-done so I went with the bliss :-) took it out back on the patio and thought about getting something off the snack wagon despite just finishing dinner. instead I sat and sipped my sour relaxing to the smoothing sounds of Wife Island as the evening settled into night. as a bonus there's a spigot for waters on the wall out there and a bucket o' cups as well. neat!!

    So good rose/cider.

What a sweet little local brewery! So sad it took me so long to get out and experience this place. I will certainly be back soon. They have a front and back (deck) entrance. The pups are welcome out back and it's beautiful out there. Didn't see a dog bowl out there but it might be put away for now. The service was a bit slow as the business started to ok up. Only one bartender working. He was, however, super sweet and knowledgeable. I was curious about the seltzer (prickly pear and agave right now- recommend that) and wine. I had a hard time choosing the wine. One option was small, women owned and low sugar and the other was a dry rose cider from a local place. I opted for the cider this time and the other next. Both looked amazing though. The food truck out back looked awesome but I have yet to try. They have some veggie and fish options too (like a po boy and grilled cheese). Again, service was slow but great. Just be in the frame of mind to take your time. The bartender let me try the key lime sour without me even asking. I have to be honest- Im not usually a beer person but it was amazing. Can't wait to visit again.

    Great sour

We popped in to black mountain when we had no intention to. We were coming from a hike in the mountains and making our way back to Asheville when we stopped in this small town as they had a couple breweries. We couldn't miss Black Mountain Brewing. there was a large audacious black and white mural with a gal with a large 'fro. We parked and wandered in to a small but pretty full brewery. it was early in the day but plenty of people were enjoying the libations already. The menu was lively, many options. I settled on a sour they had and we made our way out back. no one was in the outside downstairs but there was a metal stairway curling its way to the roof. We got up there just as a band was setting up. The band was good, very entertaining. It was 5 or 6 people just playing for a few of us, but they didn't seem to mind. it was a bit of country-rock. Oh and the Sour was great, I got a 2nd one! it was a little chilly our side, but well worth the stop.

Lovely little brewery in downtown Black Mountain.

On my second trip to Asheville, we stayed in Black Mountain, a town about 20 minutes outside of the city. Given this would be our base of operations for the next few days, it stood to reason that we should try some of the local beer in town. Black Mountain Brewing was this place, as well as the first brewery for us to visit on our trip to Western North Carolina. The dark-gray painted location is grand, only four blocks from our Airbnb in a building that looks like it's seen many faces and different businesses. The brewery has a parking lot to the left of the entrance, as well as spaces on the street. As you enter the gray-walled taproom, it's clear the owners use every part of the space they can for both production and a bar. The fermentation tanks stand behind the bar counter on the left side, with bar stools and table seating on the right. The counter looks like it can hold at least a dozen bar stools to grab a seat and order beer, with a long booth and a couple of tables across from it if you want a little more of a separate spot to enjoy with friends. We had time for a drink before they closed, which I enjoyed an English Mild. With a gorgeous dark caramel and amber color, the beer possessed a maltiness with the smoothness of caramel. Very well balanced with an exquisite finish. The taproom is a sweet spot to hang out with friends or on your own if you're so inclined. If I lived in the area, Black Mountain Brewing would be one of my haunts.

This place is great. Laid back atmosphere wonderful venue and great beer. What else do you need?

We stopped at this brewery on our way into Asheville and had a fun time. I ordered a few 5 oz pours (Momentary Bliss, Luminous Tides and Accelerated Oblivion), a can of one of the IPAs (Interdimensional Awareness) and my husband ordered the dry stout (Blackest of the Mountains). Shockingly my favorite was the Momentary Bliss which was a mixed berry marshmallow pie sour. There is a limited amount of seating inside but the outside is spacious. If you are in Black Mountain, check this brewery out.

    Interior, pet friendly!

Small hometown brewery with some excellent selections! My husband really enjoyed their IPA and I loved the German Pilsner. They have a spacious outdoor covered patio with a BBQ food truck. Great vibe! Close to everything if you wanted to walk and see some of the shops.

Loved the beer and the outdoor seating areas. Their was a love band on Friday night, and the service was good.

    The set-up.

Just hit town after a long drive; so, I naturally stop at the first place that says 'beer'. Truly a micro-brewery. Good stuff with plenty of locals.

Loved this place. Friendly staff, amazing beer, amazing atmosphere. The guy went into a lot of detail about the beer. Very nice and seemed very knowledgeable. Atmosphere - outdoor seating with two floors. Plenty of room to spread out. No live music the night I went but they have certain nights with live music if that's your cup of tea. Beer - Amazing. One thing to note is that they do not have any food (as of the date of this review). It's drinks only.
