We enjoyed our time here! We stopped in around 7:30 on a Sunday night and it wasn't busy at all. They had the front bar open for ordering and the bartender was both knowledgeable and friendly. We tried 4 beers - the surf wax IPA, I surfed the sky, prophetmaker, and the festbier. Surf wax was our favorite! We also ordered a smash burger and both enjoyed it. We both loved the theming in there - macabre and reminded me a bit of the ruin bars in Budapest. Very cool aesthetic. We'd love to return on our next visit and try more of their beers. read more

A large group off us stopped in to Burial and the outdoor area was perfect for our group with small children, and it was dog friendly for the pups. . There were lots of picnic table to sit and the kids loved playing in the vintage Volkswagen van retrofitted into a seating area. The beers consisted of IPAs and imperial stouts. They also have house-made wines and ciders. This time we only sat outside, but the inside has a cool, moody vibe. It's dimly lit with long wooden tables that make it feel like a hidden, gothic dive bar. It is a totaly different than the outside. Parking can be a bit challenging, there is street parking or paid lots nearby. read more

We went to Burial Beer in Asheville on a Friday, and it was one of the hottest days ever it felt like, so getting inside to the air conditioning was honestly a blessing. Right away the place had a cool vibe, not just a regular brewery where you go in and drink a beer. It had a lot of interesting decor and you could tell they really lean into their own weird, artsy style. The decor was colorful and fun, with murals and random quirky details all around. It kind of had this dark but playful look to it, which somehow worked really good. The beer garden area also gave it a laid back feel, and the whole place had way more character then a normal taproom. The beer menu was creative too. There were plenty of beer choices and I got the Sinister Gaze of the Unapologetic Imperial Stout. With a cool name like that it fit my mood from the heat. With cocoa nibs, sea salt, vanilla bean, and that rich stout flavor, it sounded bold and kind of dramatic, which fits the place perfect. read more

My favorite Asheville brewery by a pretty steep margin. The beer is always amazing and innovative. I've never had a bad beer here. The outdoor seating area is spacious and fun with old cars turned into self imposed selfie stations (guilty as charged) and a haven for sticker placements. Bartenders were great once served. However, on NYE you would think that both bars would be open?!? Having a huge line deterred me from getting another beer. read more

Burial Beer is a sweet little brewery with two locations in NC. I tried out the Forest Camp location. The outside area was gorgeous with a decent amount of parking. There were plenty of areas to sit, both outside and inside accompanying larger groups that decide to come out together for a drink or bite. The outside area is dog friendly and offers dog bowls. The inside is quite gorgeous with long wooden tables giving customers a farmhouse vibe. This location has a merch section that is quite expansive. Service was nice, and the staff was ready to provide their selections since it was our first time visiting. My husband and I shared a flight which allowed us to try a few beers off of their menu. Beers ranged from IPA's, Stouts, Lagers, Ciders, and more. Each pour was quite flavorful! We didn't try any food on this visit, but they do offer a weekend menu. Burial Beer came highly recommended so we made it the first brewery stop on our weekend in Asheville. Burial has a nice outdoor space with plenty of heat lamps for colder nights. The beers were quite good with plenty of very long names. There are lots of IPA selections, and even though I'm not the biggest IPA fan, their signature West Coast IPA, Surf Wax really hit the spot. Among their other offering Keeper's Veil (honey saison), Bastion of Exquisite Ideation (blueberry + lemon + lavender sour), and Contrast (pale wheat) were very, very good. The food is pretty good. I had the Italian Beef Po' Boy and my friends had the burgers. Definitely better than your average brewery fare. Burial was the only place we repeated that weekend which is saying something. read more

This year...thus far...this has been my favorite brewery...and I say that having visited many breweries across several states...and today is December 3, 2025... Burial is so unique in that they brew something special every week. Stop by each Wednesday to find out what's new. What I love here is that for their special brew...they serve and charge per ABV...so if it's higher alcohol...you end up paying more. Other brews are by the pint. It's all good though...everyone gets looked after. On to another matter...the food. The food here is friggin delicious. I recommend the smash burger or the wings. The turkey sandwich is also great. A good lunch will cost $25/pp. Stop by the retail store and pick up a few cans of local recent brew to take home. A 4-Pack will cost no less than $24. Fantastic beer and food at Burial. We rolled in on a cold and snowy night and the staff took great care of us. I spilled my beer in a freak accident and when I went to ask the staff for a towel to clean it up, their first question was - did you spill the whole beer? Need another? That's how friendly the folks are at Burial. We felt right at home. It's a small place inside but has a good amount of space outside. Amazing fried smash potatoes with a yummy chili and chive aioli (we only wished there were more sauce on top!). 4.75. I'm a craft beer fan, most especially hazy IPA's and Barrel Aged Stouts. Those are what Burial seems to do best. So this was the absolute first place I stopped when I arrived in Asheville. The place is intentionally grimy and dark themed. Really cool venue. I've really enjoyed the two drinks that I've had. Really quirky inside. Has plenty of inside and outside seating. Today is a grey day, but the outside seating is fairly full. I really enjoyed this place. So there is a front bar and by the door is a bbq pot cooking up things. There is also a back bar. Place was packed on Valentines Day! The service was great, very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was quick, well prepared, and good! We had burger and fries and pretzel knots. I was surprised the beer cheese was cold but it was delicious. Now the best part, the beer! Great selection, the imperial stouts were where it's at! The vibe was great, all the differentiating options. It would have been nice if the back bar was open because the main bar was packed out, but it did move fast. This place is the BOMB! The ambiance and brews are so cool! I got the Mexican Lager, which paired well with what I think may be my favorite burger I've ever had! I've had quite a few burgers from around the country, but this smash burger just is perfection. The toppings are like Shake Shack's in quality, but the entire sandwich comes out wayyy better than any similar burger. Kendall at the front desk was SO helpful with parking, merch, and beer questions. The bartenders also were chatty when appropriate, helping me with the brews and lots of other tidbits. While visiting Asheville on a day trip I decided to stop into Burial and grab a beer. I've had their beer many times at some of the local bottle shops, and had visited the brewery in the past, was excited to see they were opened despite tourism being down after Helene. They have some of the best IPAs in NC as far as I'm concerned and always love the artwork on the cans. The brewery is a fun, eclectic spot, lots of space to sit inside or out in their large beer garden, with several books to get away and enjoy a beer, including 2 old cars that are now adorned with stickers from visitors from all over the world. There is fun and random art adorning the building inside and out, including a fantastic mural of Tom Selleck and Sloth from the Goonies, which has been seasonally decorated for Xmas. The bar tender was real friendly, even offering to go up to the "front bar" which wasn't staffed at the time to get my friend a beer he didn't have at the back bar. The beer was great as expected. I ended up trying nine different forms pores and I can't believe a brewery is able to go nine out of nine with every single one of them being exceptional. Came here for a beer and some food. There was a nice outdoor patio with heaters. Lots of beer options and some food options. Went up the bar and was able to order quickly and efficiently. They texted me when my food was ready. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come out. I wish there was a little more food but the beer was great! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It was average.
