Deep in the recesses in Asheville, lies this hidden gem. Since it's hidden, the hobbit like entrance is apropos, just as the dark, dingy atmosphere. Great brews, live music, and bar games makes One World a solid choice for beverages in Asheville, would definitely recommend!
One World has been a favorite of mine since New Year's Day 2022 when my soon-to-be husband brought me in! Although we do not live in Asheville, we make it a point to visit as often as possible. If we were residents, this would be where you could find us every week! Extremely cozy, delicious beer, and such friendly staff. Love the range of live music you can catch here - we've heard originals, Grateful Dead covers, everything. We especially appreciate the gentleman who we see working on Saturday nights - we've had lovely conversations with him and have been fortunate to see him working the past handful of times we've come into town the past year! We appreciate that he recognizes us even though we are just wannabe regulars from Charlotte. Looking forward to our next mugs, flights, and visiting on our upcoming wedding night!
As a Dead-head I loved this brewery. It's down in a basement and not very big but the beer is good, the bar tender was friendly and the music was great. How often do you hear the Garcia/Grisman - Pizza Tapes in a bar? Plus the bartender's dog is fun to watch. She doesn't do much other than lay there but she's sweet.
One World gets a 5/5 for ambience. First of all, getting there and then down to the bottom floor is an experience of its own. Once you make it down to the tap room, it legit feels like a discrete cellar. It's cool, and quite intimate. They have excellent brews on tap and that adds to the overall experience. I can't recall the name of the exact IPA I enjoyed, but it was memorable enough to want to come back. Service was outstanding. Can't wait to visit again!
This little basement/cellar brewery is a great stop to beat the summer heat. They are pet friendly and our dogs loved cooling down on the cement floors. We always bring a bag with snacks, travel bowl, and water bottles for them, so I would recommend making sure you always carry your own because both times we have visited they have not offered water for the dogs. They have a small offering of beers, but they are good and have a variety of everything. I think they are on the pricier side, but they do come in large beer steins. We ordered a lager and a Hefeweizen and both were good, but I would almost consider the Hefeweizen a sour rather than a true Hefeweizen.
Cool brewery in downtown Asheville. It's reminds me of a speakeasy, and a great place to go to if it's a really hot day. Bartender was really nice and gave us some recommendations for good restaurants and live music in the area. We enjoyed the Ashevegas beer and the Citra Bomb, their flagship IPA. Both were very good!
Love the vibes of this brewery! I ended up getting their lighter beer Helles really light and refreshing. It's definitely hidden away but definitely worth a visit! The bartender was super friendly and great to talk with
This was my second time to visit One World Brewing. Located downstairs and in the back corner of a building, it can be difficult to find. The night we went, there were a lot of people there. Luckily there were still two seats at the bar. I have to admit, to me, there beer is just ok. I enjoy porters, stouts as well as European beers. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but some sours are good. To me, One World's beers are just too hoppy for my taste. On my last visit, I tried their stout, but it was also just too much with a bad piney, dry taste.
Really Cool basement bar in Asheville. The entrance is semi hidden on a side street and it feels like an adventure to get to it. There are both regular tables and high tops to sit at, along with games to play. While we were there, people we're playing Yahtzee and darts. The atmosphere is dark and stereotypical basement space. You can see the brewing tanks from the seating area which I thought was a fun aesthetic. I'm going to say they're dog friendly since there was a customer at the bar with a very friendly dog. Again, it's a basement space, so maybe not super ideal for pets...? But any place that is dog friendly is fine by me! The beer was great and they offered a wide selection. The friends I was with sampled more beers than I did, but everyone seemed to find a few that they enjoyed. I would recommend this brewery in Asheville.
Such an amazing vibe, I was surprised how large it was! When you first enter it has a speakeasy vibe to it, low lights, they had a game there Sjoelbak, Dutch shuffleboard, it was so much fun you must try it! Employees were super friendly and helpful, beer was super delicious, not a ton of options, but had enough for everyone to find something liked.
Very interesting location. Almost like a speak easy feeling. I wasn't a fan of the beer, but my husband enjoyed his beer. I wouldn't return with so many other great breweries in the area!
I love the live music and it's nice that the establishment gives artists and musicians somewhere to perform. The vibe is chill and down to earth. To get to the brewery, you have to walk through a short alley and walk to the basement. Pretty unique place!
Interesting space and great beer. This place is really tricky to find. I'd search for the ally in between salsa restaurant and farm burger, walk to the end and down the stairs. The bartender was great . I LOVED the ALL ALONG THE HOP SOUR and the CITRA BOMB. Definitely come here.
Really interesting brewery in the alley by the Farmburger. Kind of a speakeasy feel in the basement of the building. Nick the bartender was super nice and recommended some other places in Asheville as well. Happened to be live music but I had to leave just as he was starting. I had the Red Lager and it was the best beer of the 7 breweries I have been to so far in Asheville this week! Will be back for sure. read more

Saw this place while in a walking tour. Our guide actually stopped and talked about how it used to be the shoe department of an old store. It's located in the basement on Patton Street, between Farm Burger and a Mexican restaurant. This was our first stop after the walking tour. It's a divey, dingy looking place. It wasn't, but looks like it. Kind of dark down there. We only grabbed one drink before moving on, not because of any reason other than we wanted to be somewhere in a certain time. We all opted for an Octoberfest. It was a decent draft. Would definitely visit again. read more

This place is so funky!!! First of all the entry is down an alley, that looks like it's the backdoor entrance to a restaurants kitchen. Then you go down 2 or 3 flights of stairs. This is wear you may think your lost, but you're not. Follow the signs and boom you're in one world brewing. The beer was alright, and they had live music which was very good. read more
One of my favorites that we stopped at during our week in Asheville. Pretty chill and laid back in the basement of a restaurant. Little hard to find, as the spot listed isn't exactly where it is on the Yelp map. Beer is good, atmosphere is fun. read more
My boyfriend and I visited One World brewing on our trip to Asheville. The entry way takes you down a long flight of stairs & frankly it could be done a lot better, you go by a kitchen and abandoned furniture. However, once in the brewery the atmosphere is nice and quite. They give you pints of beer for a great price (we added the mustaches pictured) & they are very helpful with beer selection. We didn't stay long because I was feeling ill, and was about to fall asleep at their bar but otherwise a good experience. Only critics is the confusing entry, the wires on the ceiling were not within regulation, and you can hear a lot of movement from the upstairs floor. read more
Get the farmhouse! The farmhouse was a great beer and many in my group were raving about it. This bar has a cool vibe that screams private bar hidden in a basement. Not sure what the board game is but we had a blast playing on it. I could have stayed here all day but we were on an E bike pub crawl and could only stay for an hour. Make sure to check this place out if you are in Asheville! read more
We stopped into this brewery when we were wandering around downtown Asheville. It's a bit hidden away, but luckily they had a sign out front. I was very happy to learn that they were pet friendly since we had our small dogs with us. We were here the night before Thanksgiving and it was moderately crowded. We were able to easily order and find seats. The employees working here were very friendly and welcoming to our pups. The brews we had were unique and flavorful. We will definitely be back next time we are in Asheville. read more

Located on Patton Avenue in downtown Asheville, you go downstairs to the basement for this hidden brewery. Small, but comfy there's a bar, a large community table, and then a few other tables around. I was hoping to find a malty red or amber ale, no luck. Then maybe their ESB, but again no luck. The beer tender offered samples of other beers to help me decide, but my final selection (Shoveralls Farmhouse ale) was just not as good as I wanted. We stayed and sipped our beers while the place continued to fill up, then left for the next brewery stop. read more

Cool "speak easy" like atmosphere as you have to walk down stairs from street level to visit. We had a big table in the corner and there was plenty of space to spread out. The Queen of the Forest IPA was delicious. read more

Amazing beer! Lots of choices and everything tastes so good! The spot is in a basement but there's plenty of room to sit and we did not feel uncomfortable at all with Covid. I recommend Hoppyness starts with you --- so smooth! Denim on Denim is solid too....definitely hit this place up when you are downtown! read more
One my last full day in Asheville, I realized I had time to visit One World Brewing. Having already visited four along Haywood Road that day, I figured anywhere else I went would be a bonus. One World did not disappoint. The location is one of the cooler ones in Asheville, due to the fact that the entrance is in an alleyway behind Farm Burger's downtown restaurant, and you have to walk down several flights of stairs into the cellar of the building. I found out later that the building used to house a department store, and the cellar was where they kept the inventory with employees walking up and down a spiral staircase that you can see behind the bar when you arrive. Very cool. When you finally enter the taproom, it's amazing to see the stonewall interior and cool beertenders who are more than happy to pour a beer or flight depending on your mood. I ordered a flight, which they serve six small 4-5 oz glasses. This gives you a chance to sample more than a couple of beers without having to do half or full pours -- Asheville brewery pours are very generous in general, FYI. While I enjoyed the Queen of the Forest American IPA and the Mercury Retrograde Sour Ale was solid, with the Asheville Side Hustle and Hempin' Ain't Easy being ok, the ones that set my heart on fire were the Patcha Mama Coconut Porter and Blood Moon Dessert IPA. The latter two beers were awesome, especially the Blood Moon that was bloody magical. The fact that I was able to visit a brewery whose taproom was deep underground should be more than enough for those visiting the area to check out. If you live in Asheville and haven't been yet, now is the time. Great beers, great vibes, great times whether you're on your own or with friends. read more

Do they allow ESA (small dogs) inside?
Yes. They are generally pet friendly. There was a dog there while we were there and the staff had no problem with it.
Is it kid friendly? Have some family with me... but at the same time I want them to see it. Thanks
They ID at the door so I am not sure they would allow children to enter.
