We did not stumble upon Wicked Weed Brewing but came specifically to it, driving a long way from our cabin rental, after reading about the place and looking at the menu. I was very excited to have lunch there! Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant service experience and this is on what I'm basing my review. The beer was fine and the environment of the restaurant was good. My husband and I parked nearby and, unfortunately, on the very short walk to the restaurant, our 7 months old puppy got scared from two revving motorcycles. So when we got to the brewery the puppy was shaking ...we sat in a quiet section outside in the corner and the puppy hid under the chair and curled up, still shaking. Our waiter came and was very animated, talking in a very loud voice. There was absolutely nobody else in our section and it was very quiet, there was no reason to shout. I asked him very politely if he could please lower his voice because the puppy is scared already. There were a lot of humane ways in which he could have responded. Instead, he chose a weird response - no, he can't lower his voice, because "there will be a lot of people here, this place fills out, and my loud voice is needed for the customers". What? We would be long gone by then. I didn't understand how this applied to us. Then he proceeded to say that, actually, since there were two recent bite accidents at the restaurant, he's now afraid of dogs and would like us to move "downstairs". I showed him the shaking curled up 7 month old puppy under the chair, who was also on a short leash strapped around my waist, and told him that there was no way he was at any risk of being bitten. Not to mention the puppy was a good distance from him and would t have been able to reach him. So he said ok and we stayed there. This interaction right away left me lose interest in a full lunch, so we looked at the beers. As we were trying to pick, the waiter started telling my husband "Just pick and if you don't like it, piss it on the floor, I'll take it off the bill and give you another! I don't care! I'm not paying! The people whose name is written over there (pointing to the door) are paying". He continued repeating versions of that as we picked beer. At that time I realized there was an odor of marihuana in the air and I believe it came from him as it got stronger when he approached and disappeared when he got away. As he brought our beers, I asked him "what did you say is your name?" He responded, "I didn't give you my name and I wouldn't. It's 2026 and anyone can quickly find anything about you from your name" I was trying to be friendly after our initial spat over the voice but he wasn't having it. He walked away. We finished our beers and fries, got the check and left. On the bill, I saw the name Matthew H. listed The interactions with the waiter left us with a negative overall experience. He was paranoid, erratic and I did not feel comfortable to stay for a full lunch as we had planned. I had originally written a version of this review which lacked all the details and which had stronger wording. There was a complaint about the review (I assume from the restaurant) so I removed it and I'm replacing it with this one which states the facts. Loved the outdoor patio and indoor tables open to the outside here on a picture perfect weather day in Asheville. This is the flagship location. The Anheuser-Busch corporation acquired the craft brewery but the original owners stayed on to manage. I ordered the blood orange kombucha and sampled some of the wings. All were delicious. Located in downtown Asheville,this large brewery/restaurant offers good food and beers. They also have a nice outdoor beer garden and bottle shop. We stopped in for a late lunch and were seated immediately. I tried their Octoberfest Festbeer Lager which was very good. They have a many different beer styles and flavor profiles to choose from. I also tried their dozen wing combo with Apricot Habanero sauce and Hibachi Ginger. I loved the Apricot Habanero sauce! The ginger sauce was unique so I had to try it. Of course we had to stop by Wicked Weed in Asheville! We originally walked in upstairs, but then we directed around back for just drinks. This was an open concept indoor/outdoor seating. The beertender was slammed, yet kept a smile on her face. I tried the red ale, as a usual IPE girl, this was adventurous and fun for me! I really liked it! Visiting for the weekend and had to check out one of the best breweries in Asheville! I love that they do free tours and they have a wide selection of sours. Tim our tour guide was the perfect balance of educational, captivating, and funny. We learned a great deal on our 45 minute tour. Very impressed with the growth of Wicked Weed along with their sours, lagers, and IPAs. I We enjoyed our samples plus the beautiful tasting glass! Lot's of eclectic spice and vegetable beers, but the pairings are generally interesting and well done. They also have a few more traditional beer styles, if that's what you're in the mood for. The space is also very nicely done. Plenty of room at the bar. A somewhat dark and muted color tone that created the feel of a slightly rustic and understated space. I liked it. In terms of food, I ordered a mediterranean bowl and was pretty happy with it. Reasonably well presented. Some evidence of investing effort in creating an individualized concept. The ingredients were also very fresh. The toppings also fell within a reasonable balance. It wasn't overwhelming. It wasn't the best salad of this type that I've had, but it made for something crisp and fresh to pair with a pint. All that having been said, my suggestion would be to go for the beer. If you want to order food alongside your beer, that's secondary. read more

Asheville does not lack for breweries, and this one did not disappoint. Location is great and had a very nice patio. We snagged the last table outside on a gorgeous Asheville afternoon. It was 2:00 on a Friday, and the place was busy, but the staff had it under control. I chose a flight, which included a Habanero Peach which was surprisingly balanced. All three of us ordered the Chicken Gyro burger with the house made chips and dip. It was delicious and flavorful. The dip was a homemade sour cream and onion and I could have eaten a vat of it. After a long day of hiking, me and my husband decided to stop at the closest brewery to our hotel, bringing pups along with us. We were seated immediately, though it took about 5-7 minutes for our server to arrive, and he apologized for the delay. We came primarily for drinks and appetizers, and the beer flight we tried was really good and refreshing. As for the food, I wasn't a fan of the wings my husband had ordered them on the side, but I would have preferred them fully coated in sauce. On the other hand, the loaded chips were excellent, made with homemade potato chips that were perfectly seasoned. Went to the main Wicked Weed location for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the inside and by the beer quality and selection. Not sure what I expected as I was not familiar with Wicked Weed as it is my first time to Asheville, but the name made me think there would be a bunch of strange beers and CBD infused or other. But instead, a very stylish brewery with all your mainstream varieties plus a few not some normal ones, just a good variety. Bartender was very pleasant and gave us some other places to try in Asheville as well. Happened to go on Stein Sunday and all of their beers with leas than 8% abv were $10/liter. Cannot beat that! This brewery is really beautiful, and we were excited to check it out. We ordered the fish and chips, boiled peanuts, and a beer flight. The fish and chips were honestly the highlight of the meal--crispy, fresh, and really good. The boiled peanuts were tasty too. Unfortunately, everything else was kind of disappointing. The A/C barely seemed to be working, so it was pretty warm inside. Our server was friendly and helpful, but our water wasn't cold, and neither were the beers. At a brewery, that's kind of the whole experience, so it was a letdown. Overall, I'd give it a 5/10. The food was good, but for the price, I expected a much better experience. We were looking for a brewery option as we were just passing through Asheville. We were looking for more options other than just IPAs and this was the spot. It was a nice day and we sat outside and it wasn't too loud. We went at the beginning of May and there were no bugs outside sometimes restaurants have a fly problem just with it being outside but this place does not at least not in May. So I would suggest enjoying the outdoor seating if possible. Our server Erin was fantastic. They were able to make great recommendations and were super kind all night. I got a fruity flight and I enjoyed the cherry seltzer. Most of the other ones were a lighter take on the fruity side. We started with the pretzel and beer cheese because they were out of focaccia, but I'm glad we made this choice. The pretzel was fresh and warm and apparently from a local Baker. The beer cheese was really good and warm, which just made it a 10 out. I got the hummus platter and I loved the variety of vegetables with it and the hummus was really good. We have been here twice now, and both times service was friendly and welcoming. The location really can't be beat for when you're going to a show at the Orange Peel! As a vegetarian, the Beyond Burger is served up really well! Although I usually don't eat the entire bun at other places, this one definitely stands out as one of the best I've had. It's pillowy and buttery and delicious. I also appreciate it's not your standard lettuce and tomato, but it comes with a tasty aioli, pickled onions, and pickles. I've tried both the sweet potato fries and the regular fries, and I have to say the regular fries are the tastier ones. I wish they had BBQ sauce for dipping, but they brought me the aioli from the burger, which was a great addition to the standard ketchup. My husband also had the ranch, which tasted house-made! The focaccia with olives was delicious, and I was happy they brought over a dish of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and herbs to go with it. Since we were a group of 4, I wish we had a slice for each person, but it comes with 3 slices. It was so good, I just wanted more! Lastly, as a non-beer drinker, I was happy they had other options! My favorite thing about this place was that they offer different types of flights, I got the dark side flight which contained an assortment of stouts. Really solid beer, a notch above what you'd expect from a large brewery. Not surprisingly, the best beers here aren't their flagships, so make sure to get something you wouldn't find elsewhere. We did a lot of their World Cup themed beers and they were our favorites. The downstairs bar is a solid spot, great for bigger groups and families.
