Relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. I asked for their margarita, but they were out of tequila. I asked for their canned rosé and they were out of that. Ended up with a pour from a bottle of rosé. My friend wanted a Mexican logar, but they only had about 1/2 a glass and the guy had to go replace the tapp. Seems like they weren't very prepared for ST. Patrick's day weekend even though we were there at like 6:00 Saturday evening.
3.75. The place is kind of cool inside. The large stone mural of the green man face on the wall is nice. The venue is multi floors. The beer list was okay. It was just this evening, seemed to be a pre-wedding party upstairs. I only tried the Marzen and it was just okay.
I liked this brewery. The beers I tried were good and the building is nice. Staff seemed to be a little distracted and slow but were friendly when they came around. I'd return.
A fan favorite for me. And for all the right reasons. For starters their beer selection is appeasing for just about any taste bud. They are a soccer shop which means I can always count on them to have some sort of soccer game on their TVs. Being able to watch the bottle production in real time while having my own brew is a top tier experience. So after you shop for some swag downstairs, make your way upstairs and take a seat for the best view in the house. It's worth noting this is a kid friendly brewery who offers a ton of games upstairs. Even an area for the kiddos to dig in the sand for fossils. A very low key brewery pumping out some delicious brew with great outdoor views of Asheville.
Stopped in for a quick drink on a sunny day walking around the South Slope area of downtown Asheville. Excellent brewery with a large downstairs and outdoor upstairs area. Upstairs is covered with nice views of downtown and a little peek of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The beer I had was fresh, tasty and enjoyable. Service was on par with a normal bar/brewery. Definitely a fun spot, especially upstairs on a nice day or evening.
Brewery ambience was welcoming, chill, and the setting was very large and expansive. They have a good variety of beers. I really enjoyed their mountain man porter and their root beer is amazingly good as well. Inside and outside seating as well as upstairs seating with outdoor views. A cool place for a beer.
The atmosphere here is pretty cool. Love the top floor. It has a great outdoor patio area along with plenty of indoor seating overlooking the brewery. There is street parking, but it is hard to come by. On the next block, you'll find a paid lot. It's an easier option. They have a good number of beers, but I wasn't blown away by any in particular. I had a flight, so I was able to try a few different options, so it's a pro for me when a brewery has flight options. I'd go back just because of the atmosphere. It really is a cool spot to sit back and enjoy a cold beer.
Attended a wedding reception here over the weekend on the 3rd floor. The place was hopping! When I approached the bar I was greeted quickly and with a smile. I ordered the pilsner which was the lightest beer they had. Even though it was a light beer it still had a bit of happiness to it. We were there about 3 hrs and everyone in our party and their normal customers were all having a blast.
Overall I thought the beer selection was good by the number of types of beer they have, but I wasn't blown away by the actual stout that I had. It was okay but nothing really special. The tasting room we went to downtown was nice, but lacking in decor, just tables and bar with some swag. I was looking forward to better beer and a better experience.
Came here for a bachelor party for day drinking. This was a pretty cool brewery and had seating on the top floor. There is a bar and the bottom and top floors. Has good views of the local area from the top and large enough tables for really big parties. The beer was yum with lots of different styles to choose from (heavy to light).
This place is a great location to grab a beer and chill for a bit. They have such a large space with seating downstairs, outside, and a whole additional level. Beers offer great variety as well and I love that they have their own root beer. We were hopping around to different breweries so we opted for only one beer, while we were there, while of the bus tours did let out and it did get very busy downstairs and crowded. Next time we would definitely go up to the next level to avoid some of the crowd.
We enjoyed a round of beers upstairs at Green Man. Cool place & there is a covered outdoor patio. I had a nice IPA, although I can't recall what it was. If you check in on Yelp you can get a free Green Man logo sticker!

You cannot beat the beer at Green Man. I have been a fan of their porter for years and tried the dry Irish stout for the first time yesterday. The Greenmansion is a delightful spot to sit and taste. We stuck to the 1st floor bar because the bartenders were so engaging. But there is outdoor seating and upstairs seating as well. Even if you don't like beer, stop in to see the magnificent mosaic that covers an entire wall. read more

After we visited the arboretum, we made our way back downtown and finally got to give Green Man a try after having been to Asheville multiple times now. It was a relatively slow evening, although expected on a Monday. Opted for a flight to give a few beers a try. Ended up liking the howler and wildflower the most, both surprisingly tasty for beers with hints of banana! Also grabbed a cider as well to give a go and was very pleasantly surprised with it. Not overly sweet or bitter, just a solid in-between option. Honestly can't wait to get back here and give some more of the menu a try! read more

If I could do 3.5 I would! The service was great- and the bartender who gave us our drinks was super friendly. The vibe just really wasn't for me. They played heavy rock metal which is cool for a bit but over and over is just not my style. I do like how there were multiple levels so you could see a little view of Asheville. It was just a little dark and dungeon like for my tastes. However I can see why some people would enjoy this place if they wanted something heavier ! read more

Thanks for the great review, Amy!
Delved into Green Man Brewery earlier this year( yes, I know we aren't far into 2023 but it was earlier in the year, lol) and enjoyed my beer experience with the two beers I had from them. I had an ESB, an extra bitter beer which was good. I don't come across these real often and if I do I usually get overrode with a beer choice that grabs my attention more so it was pleasant delving into Green Man's version of the ESB with it's sweet and malty notes it comes off as well balanced and lives up to it's name for this English Amber Ale. The next one was a beer style I always like and that was Green Man's American Light Lager. A very light lager that can be drank all day long with a very low ABV. This very tasty lager has cracker, herbal and a grain flavor which makes this type of beer so flavorful and enticing. Always love craft brewery versions of American Light beers because they always taste so much better than the corporate beer they are inspired by. read more

A last minute stop on our trip to Asheville! A former colleague recommended Green Man as her favorite brewery, so we made a quick stop on a Saturday afternoon during our visit. The space has a good vibe - more sports bar-like as compared to other breweries, but lots of open space and modern vibes as well. Once we arrived, we were a touch confused on how to order. There were 2 bars, but apparently one was for cans only and one was for drafts only - although this was not clear at all, nor was it clear which beers were available on draft vs cans. No big deal, we ultimately figured it out and chose our beers! Their was a private party on the rooftop (a great spot for a party!), so we unfortunately didn't get to make it up, but no big deal. The space is massive, so we still had our choice of sitting outside or on the ground floor. We snagged a table outside and enjoyed our beers alongside their wonderful music selection (my husband spot very highly of it). I can't remember which specific beers we opted for, but we enjoyed them well enough, although not enough to explore purchasing any to go. Overall, Green Man was a nice, convenient stop on our Asheville trip. I would recommend for anyone traveling with a group or anyone looking for a great music selection and a solid beer! read more

New building from the longstanding original building. Very cool Vibe spot that is thriving. Tasty free brews for all flavor palettes. If you visiting & dig breweries this is a must stop while in Asheville. Very pleasant spot in the heart of downtown & walking distance to everything. read more
I visited for a beverage while I was waiting for another place nearby to open for the day. I didn't know what to expect, but Green Man's proximity to my ultimate destination led me to at least give their beer menu a look. They had a fruity sour on the list, so I decided to get a glass while I waited. They were doing well with the use of outdoor seating space. There was a lot of spread out tables, with pop-up tent coverings. Thank you for the shade! The beer was good enough for me to grab a 4-pack on my way out to bring home with me. I wasn't there for a long time, but I had a good time. Or...as good as I could have by myself, during a pandemic. Worth a visit! They have a good range of beer styles. I bet they'll have something you want to try. read more

Woohoo! My day began at the Biltmore Forest Country Club. Green Man's owner is a member. That's kind of cool, but what's better is that he created a beer for the club called 1922. It's an amazing lager albeit exclusive. The brewery is cool and the staff friendly. They have some great beers on tap. If you like west coast IPAs try the Rime Ice. Wow! read more
I stopped by here this past Tuesday with my wife for some afternoon drinks. Due to COVID-19, there wasn't any indoor seating and the amount of time you spent indoors was limited to a purchase your beer and get out variety. They had "no samples, no flights, no tabs" prominently Displayed in a number of places. Due to that, instead of my usual fight, I went with a 16 oz Wayfarer IPA. Since I was the only person in line, I had my beer quickly and was headed outside for seating. They had a ton of it on Buxton Ave with most of it being chairs around some spools with tents covering them. After my wife and I found some seating I was able to try the beer. It was a smooth IPA with lots of hop flavor and some good notes of citrus on the finish. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My beer was a solid IPA and I would be interested in trying more of the Green Man Brewery's offerings. read more
Cold beers and hipster place to hang out. Totally loved the vibe everyone was so nice! Beer was great I told them what I liked and they recommend one that was perfect for me but I forgot the name of it. Everyone was friendly and it was very clean. Happy my friend recommended it will definitely stop there again when I'm in town! read more
Green Man is a beautiful space in the heart of South Slope. And it's HUGE - 3 stories and 20,000 square feet. Their beer is so-so. Service was very friendly and they have a large merch area. We visit every time we're in town because it's a fun place to hang out and is in walking distance of many other restaurants and breweries. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in Asheville. read more

Pros: -different spots to drink (top floor, bottom floor, and the top floor outside area). -great views from the top -clean bathrooms -cool merch section on first floor -you can see the whole brewing operation (if you like to see an entire brewing operation) -my lager came in a cool-shaped glass (because yes, that's important sometimes) Things to note: -I wish they had a solid selection of wheat beers but that's me being a spoiled little wheat girl brat -if you want a pub or grunge-y brewery feel, I would go next door to Dirty Jack's. This brewery almost felt impeccably clean, like I was drinking in a swanky hipster loft apartment lobby (but not in a bad way). Just wanted to point that out in case people want a different drinking vibe experience Overall, great beer. Cool area. Neat building. read more
This was hands down our favorite brewery when visiting Asheville! The space is really big, with lots of space to find a seat and enjoy your beer. We opted to sit on their little outdoor seating area right outside but then went all the way up to explore. The views are awesome so make sure you do too. I ordered their tart berry sour (berliner weisse) and it was exactly as described--light, fruity and refreshing! When we went to redeem our free sticker (make sure to check in to receive one too!) the staff was super friendly and even gave us recommendations for other things to do in town. read more
