Really struggled not to knock this to three stars tonight. Ribeye was about 1/4" thick, over cooked and lacked flavor. Probably the worst ribeye I've had. Our server let our drinks sit empty for more than 15 minutes twice. New building is still great though. Parking sucked. Just really disappointed and probably taking a break for a while. Market tavern's skirt steak smokes Pietro's ribeye and it's half the price. read more

I've been here before and usually had a much better experience, which made this visit especially disappointing. We had a reservation for Valentine's Day and still waited about 25-30 minutes to be seated. The server was polite, but service overall was very inattentive. Our water was only refilled once over nearly two hours, no one checked in consistently, and one of our drinks never arrived at all. It also felt very overbooked and understaffed for the night. The food was not at the level it used to be. I originally came specifically for the oxtail, only to be told they had run out by 4pm. The veal parm was not good, and while the gnocchi was decent, it wasn't nearly as good as I remember it being. The indoor space itself is beautiful and has a really charming, elegant atmosphere, which was the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the service and food quality didn't match the setting. Overall, I can't recommend it based on this experience, especially for a special occasion. read more

I've been to Pietro's a few times now and always leave happy, and this visit was no exception! This time I brought the family to celebrate an anniversary, and everyone had a wonderful time. We ordered the New York steak, meatball sandwich, Jimmy salad, and chicken parmigiana. I couldn't pass up the beef minestrone soup--it was hearty, flavorful, and hit the spot. The sourdough bread to start was warm and delicious, especially paired with their vinegar and oil. The steak could have used just a little more seasoning (salt and pepper would have brought it up a notch), and the chicken on the Jimmy salad would have been even better warmed up. That said, the dishes were all satisfying and well-prepared. Who knew they don't offer any steak or hot sauce? To top things off, because of our special occasion, we were treated to a serving of tiramisu that was sweet, creamy, and a perfect way to end the meal. Our waitress, Kate, was phenomenal--attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Overall, a great experience as always. First time here. We came with a large engagement party and had a server named Cici as our server. She was truly incredible. She knew the menu extremely well and made fantastic recommendations. She was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. She took the time to learn our names and talk with us about the restaurant and the area. She was delightful. I am definitely requesting her in future visits. The food was incredible. The bread and garlic butter alone was worth a return visit. Everybody in our party loved the food and raved about the service. Definitely give this place a try. It really seemed that all of the employees enjoyed their work and made an effort to be professional and give the guests a great experience. Celebrated my birthday here and everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered the veal parmigiana, which was perfectly tender with a rich, flavorful sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The arancini appetizer was a standout - crispy on the outside, creamy and savory inside. I also had the Mona Lisa cocktail, which was beautifully balanced and the perfect birthday drink. Such a vibe! We didn't realize they had moved into a newer location, this restaurant recently moved late last year and omg, talk about a beautiful restaurant. This newer Pietros is larger and sooooo fancy. Perfect for a date night or birthday celebration. We came here with my two kids and hubby for a Monday night dinner to kick off our spring break and was so glad we did. Our waitress- Dayana was amazing and well oriented with the menu and specials. The food was good, but probably not worth the long wait and headache of getting a seat. I called 3 times the day before and day of to get a reservation and was unable to get it. So needed to wait about 30 min to get bar seating. It ended up being fine, but the table was a little narrow and definitely not as spacious as a table. Budino was great, the fresh whipped cream and caramelized pieces on top were excellent. 6/5 Mussels were ok but the rubbery texture made me wonder if they were previously frozen. For $23 I hope not. The sauce was excellent. 4/5 Eggplant Parmesan- good but I felt there were too many layers and too much breading. 4/5 Risotto rich and creamy with bacon. Good, but wouldn't order again for the price. -$20 4/5 The pizza was good, but not the best I've had. Title: Disappointing Service at Pietros As a local business owner, I understand how crucial customer service is, and unfortunately, Pietros fell short in this area during my recent visit. The food was, as always, absolutely delicious, and our waiter was fantastic. However, he seemed to struggle with the support of his helper, which left us often waiting for water, bread and drinks. I get it a party of 7 is hard to manage and that's why you have a helper, Oddly, the main waiter was busy but the helper was not busy; he was just hanging out near the water pitchers. At one point, I had to get up to ask for water because he is just standing there like a fixture. Then he comes to our table and he yawns a big yawn and didn't cover his mouth before pouring the glass of water at our table. When our food arrived, we were surprised that no Parmesan or pepper was offered. I had to once again get up and ask for Parmesan, and when I addressed the helper--who I jokingly referred to as "Bieber" to lighten the mood--he snapped back, "That's not my name." I apologized and asked if he could take a family picture for us, but he seemed annoyed and distracted which he took horrible pictures due to his anger. Like guy calling you Bieber was by far a compliment bc you are falling short all around. I guess his name was Brandolyn or Brandon! Then this guy starts stacking clean place setting dishes for 8 next to us at a table for 2. I was like shocked to be seeing him do this especially at a level of Restaurant like Pietros.. If he wanted us to leave, he should have offered to-go boxes, instead of making me get up again and ask a random person. Then Brando or whatever his name is brings little boxes when we have almost a whole pizza and I had almost all my food because filled up on my appetizer. This is my first time at the new location. I was not impressed at the previous location, but this time around was different. We reserved a table for a friend's birthday and there were 8 of us. Service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ordered a few appetizers and all came out delicious. We ordered Rosetta's Arapicini (fried risotto), meatballs, and calamari. So so wanted to like Pietro's at their new location as we've always enjoyed their service and food at their old location. Our first experience at their new location was disappointing to say the least. Let me just say the ladies at the front were a 10/10. We ordered their tagatelle, braised oxtail and bucatini. Drink orders were placed but we did not get them. Had to inquire about it once our food served. It went from downhill from here. Bucatini was served with frozen clams. So frozen ice was still on them. Our waitress, bless her heart, sent it back and asked for a new dish to be rushed. The second attempt came out fairly shortly but it had the same problem so we just sent it back and asked for us not to be charged. The manager came and apologized and offered a free dessert but at this point we were just grossed out so we politely declined. Feels like at least two points of failure here. 1- Line cook needs to be retrained and 2-Expeditor did not check quality of the dish before it was sent out. We wanted to love but too bad. I'm truly disappointed by the change after Pietro's moved to the new location. While the restaurant is now bigger and the prices have increased, the food quality sadly seems to have declined. I never minded paying more because I always felt the food was worth it, but this time everything tasted bland and lacked the authentic flavor and care that once made Pietro's so special. What I miss most is the charm of the old location -- it had a warm, inviting ambience, and the food was consistently flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. Pietro's used to be my favorite Italian restaurant, which makes this experience especially disappointing. It's unfortunate to see a restaurant grow in size but lose some of the quality and character that originally made people love it. read more

I recently heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and since I was in the area with my kids, we decided to come here for late lunch. I ordered their chicken parmigiana, my eldest ordered their special which was the ripieni, my other daughter ordered their kids spaghetti and my youngest got the chicken parmigiana as well. Food was great. I actually enjoyed my chicken parmigiana. I thought the service was great , our server, Daniel was attentive but it did get busy and there was a moment where he forgot to come back to fill our water after we requested for it a few minutes prior. I have seen Pietro's on social media for awhile now and finally was able to give it a try...... First off, the interior is beautiful!! You have a choice of dining in the main dining room, at the bar, table top in front of the pizza oven or outside. Outside, regardless of the weather is a nice cozy environment with heat lamps and a fireplace. Service was perfect! Our waiter was on it the whole time and the other servers were just as attentive to us by checking in and dropping off refills on our beverages. The bread was fresh, warm and very tasty. They serve it with a wonderful butter that melts right into the bread. We each had the veal dishes...... I had the veal parmesan while hubby had the veal francese. Both were served with spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce tasted fresh, not like they randomly threw some ingredients together like some Italian restaurants. This sauce you could tase the fresh garlic and basil, it alone was very tasty and filling. The veal francese was cooked perfectly; you could taste the fresh garlic and lemon. This time around we were too full to try the dessert but will definitely have to give it a try next time we visit. We will definitely be back and next time will bring friends to introduce them to this wonderful place. read more

Should I start with: The "hostess" yelling hello at me before I fully opened the door. The drinks waiter handing my drink to the person sitting opposite me twice after me telling him it was mine. The wait staff leaving multiple empty glasses on the table and never removing those when picking up plates. The food at Olive Garden being better. The bill for 3 people being over $200 plus "tip". The chicken parmesan being so dry I didn't eat it and the waiter never asking why. I get it, you built this new location. You have at least 50 people walking around in uniforms trying to give good service and failing miserably. I saw the pasta kitchen reheating pasta. Maybe, just maybe you should have stayed put and made good food. Now you have good ambiance with borderline Olive Garden food. I'm sure I'll get blasted for this, but I can remember going to the original opening night about 40 years ago. I've been 100s of times since. My mother ate at the restaurant yesterday and brought me home a special dish of tortellini. I always thought pietros was fresh and homemade since I loved the first location. When I had them they were tough like frozen made pasta and the filling was a little odd and had an off taste but I was like oh well the sauce was good. Well around 11pm I was back and forth from the restroom for 5 hours and worried about work today. Now it's 6:20am and I need to leave for work at 8am and I think whatever I ate has passed through. Our first time at the new location. It is much bigger and beautifully decorated. We had our usuals, salad, chicken picatta, risotto, and eggplant parm. Everything was delicious. I tried the butterscotch pudding for dessert and it was tasty. The restroom is very clean and the toilet paper is soft. I want to preface this review by saying that our server, I believe her name was Alice, was lovely and our experience had nothing to do with her. I've been to this restaurant a few times before and have always had a great experience, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. We came in today for Mother's Day without a reservation and fully expected to wait. I put my name on the list and we waited about 2 and a half hours, which was understandable given the holiday. What was frustrating, however, was that after finally being seated around 3 PM, we were informed that the restaurant was only offering a prix fixe Mother's Day menu for $75 per person. That is a pretty significant detail to wait until guests are seated to mention, especially after such a long wait. It really should have been communicated when we checked in. Part of the reason this caught us off guard is because my boyfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day earlier this year and both the regular menu and prix fixe menu were available, so we assumed it would be similar. At that point, after waiting so long, it felt pointless to leave and try to find somewhere else to eat. To make matters worse, several items on the prix fixe menu were already out of stock by only 3 PM, despite the restaurant being open until 9 PM. Many of the dishes we were most interested in ordering were unavailable, which made the experience even more disappointing. There were also a few other frustrating issues throughout the meal. My brother found a bug in his water, which was obviously unpleasant. In addition, another staff member offered us still or sparkling water without mentioning there would be a charge for it. We chose still water assuming it was complimentary, as that's standard at most restaurants, so it was surprising to later see it added to the bill. Overall, there were several avoidable issues that made this experience frustrating, especially compared to the positive experiences we've had here in the past. I did really enjoy this restaurant before, but I think it's important for people to know that the experience on holidays may be very different from a normal visit. Pietro's is truly a Central Valley gem. If you want high quality Italian food from an independently owned and operated family restaurant this is the place. Skip the chains and strip-mall dining for an upscale and delicious experience. The modern and sleek design provides a clean, welcoming, and fun atmosphere. It's clear the designer spared little expense at putting a comfortable and visually appealing restaurant together. More importantly - the Kitchen completely nailed it with just about everything! Our group of 5 came to Lodi for a birthday lunch and it seems like we almost ordered the entire menu. The meat Ravioli were phenomenal as-well-as the porterhouse, and Calamari. The Christmas cocktails were fun seasonal additions to the menu. Our service team were pros although our waiter did project a slight arrogance, which I'm sure some people could find off-putting, but, he was entirely professional and efficient. I would absolutely come back on any given day (even with a 45 minute drive from Sacramento). The Pietro's family have really been able to create a top notch and high quality restaurant that you will definitely want to try. My guess is if you come once, you'll be back. I was visiting Sacramento and my friends there insisted I try this Italian spot they love -- and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant had this almost European feel to it -- like a high-end Italian restaurant you'd stumble into while traveling abroad. Super cozy, but with a polished, foreign vibe that really set the tone for the night. The service was great -- the staff was attentive, a bit too attentive, but was very helpful. I ordered the Creste de Gallo, and honestly... I still crave it. The flavors were incredible, and the pasta was cooked perfectly -- probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. My friends ordered different dishes, and literally, every single one was delicious and had their own exquisite flavor. You can tell the quality and care that goes into the food here. We were actually coming back from a National Park that day, and it was also a holiday so we were worried about timing -- but thankfully we made it, and it was 100% worth the effort. Prices are on the higher side (around $25-$30+ per dish), they do give the bread as complimentary and you can ask for more, too. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. The polenta with the aïoli sauce and the fat of the oxtail with the lean meat was magnificent topped with arugula and walnuts. If you have an allergy, make sure to mention no walnuts. We also ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of fettuccine noodles topped with a white sauce. Madden did a great job making sure we had what we needed and we were grateful. Pietro's for Mother's Day Review: The Mother's Day menu for 2025 included 2 Antipasti- we picked bruschetta & meatballs 1 Insalata- we picked pietros salad 2 Primis- we picked Amatriciana and Gnocchi 2 Secondi- we picked the gamberoni and bistecca. Overall the food was fantastic as usual and I would recommend coming to Pietro's for a Mother's Day celebration. Service was a bit slower than I am used to and we were in the restaurant for about 2 hours. First bread we were served was lukewarm and the mozzarella was pretty chewy compared to what we have had in the past. We also never received utensils for serving the salad and main dishes like we have received in the past. Little details that we noticed didn't get done when they had a full house of guests. Also timing between menu items were slow. Even with the slow service Pietros is still the best Italian restaurant in our area! I visited a local winery in the area, and the staff there recommended this restaurant I'm so glad they did. They start you off with incredible homemade white firewood-baked bread served with garlic butter, and it was so good. Next, I tried the chicken parmesan, which came with a side of green beans and pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fabulous. Lastly, I had the oxtail with polenta, and it was out of this world. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy with layers of unbelievable flavor. If you like your food perfectly seasoned and cooked, you need to try this place.
