Afterward, we walked the grounds, which were absolutely gorgeous. The only downside was how noticeable the nearby highway noise was at times. For lunch, I ordered the Lodi Burger with potato salad, while my wife went with the combo featuring the chicken tortilla soup and tri-tip sandwich. My burger was good overall, though the bun could have been a bit fresher. The potato salad was solid. That said, my wife definitely ordered the better meal. I sampled both her soup and sandwich and unsuccessfully tried to negotiate a trade. Overall, this was a solid stop with good wine, pleasant grounds, and enjoyable food. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.

Their venue has a more modern and clean feel. It seems pretty relaxing. Some of the cutest pumpkins and gourds were displayed at the entranceway. The expanse of the vineyard itself is amazing in the forefront of blue skies and sunlight. Lots of parking is available on their gravel lot. We were quickly greeted by the friendly female hostess who offered us either indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to sit indoors to enjoy our tastings of both whites & reds . Normally I prefer reds however in the summer I enjoy a crisp Sauvangion Blanc or even a nice Rose. If you purchase a bottle your tasting fee is waived which is always a great deal. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned for the Alpine Block party event which included tastings at Stonum Vineyards and two other nearby wineries. This fun filled evening included live music, food trucks, and the Lodi Wine trolley shuttling you back & forth between the wineries. Definitely a good time! Right now, they also have an added experience: a Christmas trolley that takes you around town to look at holiday lights. We found out about Van Ruiten while attending the 2026 Lodi Grape Festival. The owner was so friendly and was pouring their new Sparkling Rose and Blanc De Blanc. When we arrived at the winery, they had a good amount of people inside and outside but there was still plenty of seating for either option. The interior is lovely with a beautiful scenic painting on the left wall. They sell cute Knickknacks for your home as well. We ordered a bottle of the sparkling Rose and set out on the patio to enjoy some bubbles under the shade. I love the way they have the vines growing above you in the patio area, it was so beautiful. There was a family having a picnic, so it appears to be perfect for large groups as well. Overall It was a nice experience and will for sure be back again. Would love to see them add a brut to the collection and maybe offer a sparkling wine tasting flight as they only offer a still wine tasting currently.
