I really appreciate there is a bakery in this large sprawling mass of businesses, but I am not sure how fresh their items actually are. They have ice cream, but in looking at the ice cream in the display case, it looked like it had been scooped a long time ago. I could see the difference in the sides and where it was scooped like it was getting stickier or melted and refrozen due to time. The freezer case with options to bring home has a great selection of items that are geared towards gluten free folks. However, I noticed a lot of frost burn on some items. The items still look yummy, and I love the variety, I just hesitate to buy items that look a little older. The fresh case with cupcakes looks lovely for the options. They seem to have a good selection! They do have regular cupcakes and add in seasonal selections. There are also some gluten free options in the case. I've eaten cupcakes and cookies here, and they taste good. The prices are fair. When in a bind and having a hankering for sweets in the Westview plaza of Frederick, I would certainly consider dropping by here. The staff are friendly, and the parking easy as pie. Let's be honest - gays and bakeries sometimes have a somewhat contentious relationship. Seriously, y'all - we just want cake, not a trip to the Supreme Court. Luckily, this was not the case with Piece O' Cake. My girlfriend ordered 2 cakes to celebrate my divorce from my ex-wife (don't ask - long story), and they turned out beautifully and nobody even batted an eyelash at the whole gay thing. The fondant lettering and ribbons and what looked to be hand-painted design were clean and crisp. The cakes were moist and delicious (At least, that was the case with the larger vanilla with cherry cream one. We have yet to try the smaller dulce de leche one). Both were really good- the cake was moist and fluffy and the frosting wasn't too sweet. Based on that, we decided to go ahead and order our son's baptism cake. There only seemed to be two teenage girls working and one filled out an order form with me and said the head cake decorator would call me by Thursday with the price and to confirm the order.
