I feel like not every sandwich shop or bakery gets a BLT right but ovenbird does. Maybe it's the mayo, maybe it's Maybelline. This cute little bakery has so much more to offer, including the fresh baked bread, many other types of sandwiches, coffee, and the lot. Not lots of seating inside, but in the summer, they have four or five tables out. Good place to chat with friends.

Amber Latte('espresso+salted honey & vanilla syrup. It was kind of strong and not really as I thought it would be. But of course my breakfast sandwich was to my liking.

The space itself is pretty small too, so it's more of a grab and go place. The Neighborhood Bird bowl was a HUGE portion. It was kind of spicy but the pickled onions helped even it out. I also tried the ancho chile pork bun. The bun itself tasted amazing,but it was a bit difficult to eat. The bottom got pretty soggy while the top bun was thick and tall, so it kind of fell apart while eating.

I walked over to pick up our Thanksgiving order. The order came out, two giant bags and one was HEAVY. "Where's your car? I'll help you load it up." I walk everywhere, I had no car with me. I quickly decided to take the heavy one home first and then come back for the other. She was not having it! She went in the back and grabbed her son/coworker. He proceeded to carry both bags for me...all the way back to my apartment! It was above and beyond friendly service for sure. P.S. The turkey for Thanksgiving is unbelievably delicious!

Tom delivered the food himself, ran back with something he forgot and stayed and talked to my family for a bit. Now as nice as both of those things were, the food was not worth the circling back. The wrap was sloppily made, with my sauces running through the paper, and my fries weren't fully cooked. I wish I could say it was better but honestly, there was a lot of pictures and promo surrounding their cheesesteaks and/or their crab cake platters and I didn't get either of those, so... maybe next time.
