So out of all the pizza places around this one has to be one of my favorite ones. I can have pizza with all the toppings and not feel judge. The service received was friendly and efficient. I have been coming to Pie Five for over a decade now around the DFW area so their service is standard. I am not going to lie though their bathroom needs to be cleaned but I have noticed most bathrooms are dirty. But back to the food. My grandchildren 2 (almost 3) and 5 have never been to Pie 5. To hear them same yummy yummy! Made me smile. They both can be pretty picky eaters. But you can't go wrong with pizza right? Especially your own personal 7 inch pizza. They were happy and they gobbled the food all up. They experienced magic dust for the first time as well! Sure I can get a larger two topping pizza from a bigger chain restaurant. I was a little skeptical about the personal pizza thing, but my granddaughter wanted cheese and I didn't so I thought I would give them a try- I am quite happy I did because this place is great! The kids pizza was perfect for my granddaughter daughter- she watched them prepare her cheese pizza and shyly requested some basil for her pizza - they were very accommodating and tried to convince her to add more but she was happy with cheese & basil. I can't say enough about how kind and friendly the staff were. They did their best to take care of us and my granddaughter (&I) loved it. Went back into the store and told a worker(one with an arm sleeve of tattoos) and she got an attitude and tossed pizza on the counter and and didn't want to make it. Instead wanted the one that took the order to remake. No apology was given nor any concern. No one wear hair nets when this could've been avoided if the worker wasn't playing in her hair prior to placing gloves on. The staff worker was to busy trying to get her lover's attention than assist in store customers. The setting was dry and cold without any attention toward the customers. Stopped by Pie Five Pizza today for the first time. There are so many of these small local pizza joints around, you never know which are actually good, but I'm happy to say that Pie Five is fantastic! I had the Five Alarm Fire which was delicious with a kick . I also had a half Italian salad which was a little small for $5.99, however it was still very tasty. I will give it 5 stars though the staff didn't really seem like they wanted to be there. Maybe it was boredom and I am mistaking it for apathy, it was a little slow when I came in. I asked for a gluten free crust because I have a severe gluten allergy...she didn't change her gloves before handling my crust- cross contaminating it. When I asked if she had a buffalo sauce, she cut me off to tell me no and was obviously very agitated. She also couldn't hear most of what people were ordering because she had an AirPod in. I guess this is a failed attempt to recreate the Chipotle experience for pizza. A taco is ready to eat as soon as it is assembled. A pizza has to cook. They have reduced cooking time to 5 or 10 minutes, but I'd never wait that long for a taco. My wife likes this place for its BOGO specials and because they let you bring your own drinks. She likes to smuggle food into movies. That makes me feel icky. And that's the way Pie Five makes me feel . My wife had me load the app before we left. But that ended up costing me a free pizza because she didn't use the link on the website to download the app. She went back the next week (yesterday), and I got the bright idea to order my pizzas online and let her pick it up. But the deal required me to present MY PHONE to the cashier before a timer runs out. At that point, I gave up, un-installed the app and unsubscribed from the email. Under new ownership I was asked to give Pie Five another try, so I did! I found the place a lot brighter than it was previously and the menus so much clearer to get what you want, including many more options (gluten free, whole wheat, etc). They now offer two pizza sizes, which I like because let's be honest, who doesn't want a bigger pizza?! Since I can no longer have dairy I ordered the dairy free cheese w/veggies. I was impressed they didn't skimp on the toppings. In my opinion the cheese was horrible, but the veggies were so tasty and the crust was perfectly crunchy. I also grabbed an iced tea and found it tasty as well. I'm glad to see Pie Five under new ownership, it shows. The place was packed while I was there! read more

I am giving this place three stars because I really liked the pizza. I was so excited about the thin crust. I had the Athena pizza which had Kalamata olives and feta cheese. I spent $70 on pizza for my kids and grand kids. Everyone picked out their own toppings- so bickering or picky eaters. This seemed a perfect solution to our lactose free and pernisnicky bunch. Again. I loved the pizza. This is the Allen location which is off Stacy Road. We had been at the ice skating rink. I was less enchanted with the staff. They never put in my dessert pizza and I didn't get my salad. There were two people working there- a pale dark haired girl who handled the orders and a really "cool" dude who ran the register. They wore gloves and at least had their hair up- But "Kenosha?" the manager ( yeah with THAT ear piercing ) and the other employee with the long fake nails spent the entire time talking to another person ( who said she had been standing there for an hour and a half) the entire time. They did absolutely nothing the except gossip to this person on the other side of the counter. Tables needed wiping. The drink area needed to be clean. Magic dust abounded. It made me want to clean- as things around me told me this little gem of a restaurant, like the customers wasn't being taken care of. It's the basic lack of - sense- like how do you work with those fake nails on ?I don't want that in my pizza. I was glad,almost relieved,that her and the manager didn't actually do anything because with fake nail girl didn't have her hair up. But when the girl making the pizza went to the back to eat- they continued to stand there and chat. How did I know Kenosha or what ever the managers name was ? I asked. I asked her when I confronted her about not getting a salad I ordered and the fact the dessert pizza was delayed. And she did nothing - It was a blank stare. So the concept of Pie Five is that you get to build your own pizza and have it baked quickly after. You pick everything from a variety of sauces, toppings, to even crust preferences. I had a craving for goat cheese on pizza (yes very random) and this place popped up on my radar when I yelped it. This place runs $5.55 Monday pizzas if you are looking to try this place out. I ended up getting a regular pizza crust with spicy tomatoe sauce, sausage, pepperoni, goat cheese, and basil. I was told to keep the ingredients on the lighter side from a friend because they cook it so quickly that if you put too much on it won't cook throughly. Overall I liked the pizza a lot, it was a good size as a personal pizza and since it was chosen by me I liked the toppings it came with. My only request was that I wish the workers would have explained the process a little more. Cute little Chipotle-esque pizza spot - make your own pizzas as you move along the assembly line. Good for kids (which is the main reason why I was there) so that they can customize their own whiny options (muahah - never going to have kids of my own). The regular sized pizzas are fairly sizable - could be shared by one child and one adult. The kids sized pizzas are perfect for the little ones, especially my nephew who only ate the middle part of the pizza and left all of the crust, which was about half the pizza. The pizzas take about 5-7 minutes from start to finish. You end up hanging out awkwardly at the end of the assembly line, before the cashier, as you wait for your pizza to pop out and for you to select your finishing touches (magic dust, basil, red pepper, etc.). Everything tasted average - the sauce was a bit too tart for my tastes, but the pepperoni was good. Pepperoni is always good though, right? We live in a now society where Chipotle and In and Out Burger have a proper place. One of my neighbors suggested I needed to check this place out with the kids. I was reluctant since pizza is pizza right? WRONG!! The whole idea of lining up and picking each ingredient in my own personal pizza is awesome, my kids loved it. I'd compare it to be a Chipotle or Subway of pizza, and it's delivered to your table quick fast and in a hurry. They keep the place clean and the staff there was friendly. What more can you ask for. It isn't often that my kids eat and tell me while eating "Daddy, I want to come here three times a week!". We each ordered pizzas, they were yummy. I'm going with a rounded up 3.5 stars here. I see what they're trying to do, and they're doing a decent job at it, but it needs - something else. I came in at an off time in the early afternoon, and there was only one other party seated. I needed three pizzas to go, so I looked over the menu. I settled on pepperoni and green olive (wife's fave), margherita for a friend and the roma (julienned pepperoni, cherry tomatoes and some other stuff - I can't find an online reference) for me. They boxed them up since I needed them to go. At home, we proceeded to dig in. The crusts are very thin (me likey) and the toppings are in good quantity (not too much, not too little). Cheese and sauce were the same way, what I'd expect for an artisan style pizza (contrast to the crazy river of cheese on most mass market take out). Flavors were generally good, but not a lot of "wow". The cherry tomatoes, in particular, though, were sweet and juicy, very good stuff. But there were some problems. The pepperoni had some fatty, chewy bits in it, and the roma tomatoes on the marg were a little thick and didn't cook as well. Finally, the crust was a little too chewy for a thin crust, but some of that may have been because they were take out and not eaten on premises. All in all, they were good, but not great. However, I'm going with 4 stars for a few reasons: (1) The price is right (2) it's a very quick meal (3) there's a ton of selection for toppings, including many healthy ones. Overall, it's a good place; you're not going to have the best pizza of your life, but if you want a good alternative to take-out, I think you'll like this fresh option. read more

Initially I was very frustrated that in a line of ten people waiting to have pizzas made, they had ONE of the five people I saw working helping to make pizzas. I fully acknowledge Pie Five isn't fast food, but I don't expect to watch as the employees joke around behind the counter instead of helping the waiting customers. Once finally helped however, our pizza maker was super helpful and friendly. We definitely weren't shorted on the toppings either which was a plus. UPDATE: Disappointed is an understatement. Placed an online order on a Wednesday night because I knew they would be busy. The immediate pick up time would be in 20 minutes and I knew better than to show up early. I showed up exactly at the time quoted and received blank stares from two of the six people working. After numerous frustrated conversations back and forth (huffing at orders, asking "when do I get to go home", etc.) amongst the employees they started my online order. Ten minutes after promised and 30 minutes after I placed my order. If you are going to promote online ordering, the process should be much more efficient. And for the record - no one apologized or made any effort to rectify the situation. I really, really love the concept of Pie Five. The customer service at this location quite simply...sucks. I loved the BBQ chicken pizza; the soda machine was broken, but they didn't mention that until AFTER they charged me for soda. When I brought it up the worker said "We have tea and water though. Because the line was so long, I didn't bother getting a refund (I drank water) but I recommended they put a sign up as many customers were complaining about the charge of soda and then not getting any. A little boy was having a rough time and ended up having a tantrum, and one of the staff members left the lineup to go comfort him and calm him down. Very very sweet of him.
