We don't have many delis in the area, so this is about as good as it gets, which isn't saying much - bread was out of a bag, and pickles seemed store bought. Slaw, however, was quite good. Overall, it's adequate for those that don't know deli, but for those that do, it will be a disappointment.

Excellent food and staff In this hidden gem. Pickles Plus is much much more than the name would Lead you to believe. Great breakfast and lunch menu!

Stopped here for lunch running errands. Was an amazing place to eat and great staff. They do have indoor and outside dinning which I enjoyed. food portions were very large and took have to go! food was flavorful

The establishment is bigger on the inside than it looks. Parking is easy since it's in a shopping plaza and it was packed the day we went. I got a chicken Caesar wrap that wasn't special and very ordinary. The sandwich my boyfriend got with pastrami was amazing and stuffed to the brim. I loved it and could only finish one side, definitely wasn't skimped on any meat. Everyone else enjoyed their meal.

Italian Hoagie special is delicious and $15

Stopped in for a quick lunch. As noted on other reviews, I will go out of my way for a good boars head deli sandwich. I'm lucky that Florida is littered with restaurants like Pickles Plus. Stopped in and noticed the Italian Hoagie sub special on their pretty vast menu. $15 There is both inside and outside seating available, but it's a bit limited since the restaurant is in the middle of a strip mall. Looks to stay pretty crowded around lunch time, dozens of people were in and out while I dined. Service was friendly and great. Will definitely be stopping in again.

What a great find this place was. We were planning to get subs from Publix but luckily stumbled upon this cute joint! From the time we entered to the time we left, the servers were friendly. We felt welcomed in, and a server came right over to where we sat. Though a new server, our server was pretty efficient. We only had to ask for refills. However, our order was quickly taken and placed, and she gave great recommendations. The tuna sandwich was delicious, the clam chowder was out of this world good---really fresh and tasty. My hubby was pleased with his burger, and our additional companion loved her turkey sandwich as well. We all loved the pickles--- really fresh and tasty! We will definitely return if in the area again!

    Pastrami melt on rye

Hands down best pastrami I've had in the Tampa Bay Area. Grilled to perfection, with amazing rye bread. I was sad to give this a 3. But for two sandwich and drinks we left with a $40 tab before tip. This would have been fine if it weren't for the fact that our side was just a handful of Ruffles, and the pickle (which for a place named Pickle Plus we expected to at the very least be homemade) was just grocery store jarred pickles. Even with a stellar 5 star sandwich, the sides were a solid 1. I know the food supply is tough right now, but I know making and jarring your own pickles and frying some fresh chips would have changed my entire review. We expected it would be busy due to St Paddy's day, but our waitress by her own admission was frazzled because she had been called in unexpectedly. Outside of our first intro being her complaining she forgot to take our order, then forgot to bring our drink refills until we were about to leave. I really wanted to love this place but the pastrami isn't enough to bring me back

Philly Steak Hoagie- this was half. My son and I split it. They brought it out in two baskets for us

Family bike ride today and stopped here for lunch. This place was steady and busy for a Sunday lunch time. Really wanted to try the Cuban Sandburg they were out. We split a Philly and they brought it out with a generous portion of steak and chips. The tenders had a huge portion of fries. All of our food was delicious! We sat outside but the inside was quaint. The table next to us ordered a matza ball soup that looked DELICIOUS. Restaurant is a tad pricey but it was very yummy with generous portions. Definitely should give it a try!!

We were seated as soon as we arrived, and throughout our visit the service was really good. My friend and I were having a very hard time deciding, and when we asked the server, she flat out told us that the two things we were torn between were awesome and we should order both and split them. We got the shrimp and grits and the lobster Benedict. On their own, the grits weren't anything special, although they were texturally great. Now when you add the shrimp and gravy . . . This dish is a whole other deal. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the gravy was super well balances. It had the perfect level of spice. The lobster Benedict had a perfectly poached egg, and it worked so well. The mornay sauce was a lovely touch. I'd definitely order it again, but I would also definitely order the shrimp again. Long story short, our server was right, they were both amazing. I also got a standard Bloody Mary, which was solid. I would definitely go back to this place. It's got an upbeat, family friendly atmosphere, and I think it's a great spot for locals and out of towners alike. It's also well priced. I'd also love to try their beignets or French toast next time. They've also got a huge lunch/dinner menu that I'd definitely want to try if I were in town for longer.

Ambience was like your regular breakfast place or diner, but definitely family friendly. We were there with our 8 month old baby boy and felt comfortable. Food tasted pretty okay, we ordered coconut shrimp, fish n chips and chicken tacos for brunch! The fish was a little undercooked and the batter was still a bit wet inside. Other items were not bad. For drinks, I ordered their popular pomegranate mimosa which came really flat (no bubblies) and in a wine glass! I sent it back and got a mojito instead - which tasted a lot better! Additionally, we were not aware the breakfast menu closes at 12 pm and we were already seated, so kind of felt obligated to order from the lunch menu at around 12.05 pm! It was too early for a sea food lunch for us! We saw the table next to us had ordered breakfast just a few minutes before us but we were denied because it was already past noon. Overall a pretty average experience. I was expecting a little more authentic experience but turned out to be just like your local diner.

The location alone makes it a convenient and easy choice if you're staying nearby or heading out for a morning walk along the beach. Breakfast was exactly what you hope for at a casual beachside café. We had coffee, an egg sandwich with bacon, and a Western omelet with cheese. Everything was cooked fresh and made to order, and it definitely hit the spot to start the day. Simple, satisfying breakfast food done well. The service was great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming without feeling rushed. It's the kind of place where the staff makes you feel comfortable right away. Another thing that stood out was the pricing. For a beach location, the prices are very fair, which makes it an even better value considering the quality of the food and the location. If you're looking for a relaxed, no-frills breakfast with good food, great service, and an awesome location near the beach, Beach Shanty Cafe is well worth stopping by.
