This used to be a great place for lunch but since the new owners have taken over there has been cost cutting left and right. Quality has gone down bad. They tell you to order online to avoid the wait but you are still going to have to wait for everyone else to place their orders before getting yours. Doesn't look much when you past it but please do not miss an opportunity to try this little place. We stopped here after a long 4 hour drive and didn't know what to expect. They have boars meat which is quality stuff. I ordered the chicken Philly and it was one of the best I've ever had. The portions were manageable and reasonable. The chicken was tasty and didn't taste funky. It was just amazing. My aunt who had their Lightning BLT special was amazed at how good her sandwich was- she ate the whole thing. It was fantastic. Came to the shop at 1:15pm to get a BLT Croissant, blueberry muffin, and coffee, $16.04. While waiting I went to get my coffee and it was only half cup left plus not to mention the coffee was already cold, I asked the waitress if they would make more and she said no as they are closing at two and didn't offer no refund or something else in exchange. The Local Deli offers a variety sandwiches, salads, and soups. I like that they offer specials throughout the week to make lunch a little more affordable. The specials are usually around $10 and include a side item and a drink. If you want a full meal that isn't on special you're looking at around $14-16. The sandwiches are fine. The meat/cheese is a good quality and most of the bread is good. They don't seem to take kindly to substitutions so if you're particular you may want to build a sandwich from scratch. The sides to choose from are potato salad (quite dry), pasta salad (extremely dry), cole slaw, chips or pickles. The pickles are good but almost seems weird to order 3 pickle spears as your side. They typically have 3 soups to choose from each day. I've only tried the chicken pot pie soup which basically tastes like the inside of a chicken pot pie. I would have loved a piece of puff pastry on top for the full chicken pot pie effect. They have a variety of soft drinks and offer sweet and unsweetened tea as well. read more

Awesome deli! I got a Gyro combo and the Gyro was fantastic. Meat was piled on like crazy and the pita was delicious. It was the special of the day as well so giant gyro, side, and a drink was all only $8!! Hard to beat that. Will definitely be coming back to try the other sandwiches soon. I'm a business traveler, and the office I'm visiting is close to this restaurant. I ordered the combo special-half sandwich and soup. I decided to go with salami and ham on my sandwich and chilli for the soup. The sandwich was great! Lots of meats and veggies, so was very pleased. The chilli wasn't my cup of tea. I ordered from The Local through BiteSquad after first calling the restaurant to see what type of soup they had available. I was told they had clam chowder and chili and then I immediately placed an order for clam chowder. I am not a fan of chili, so when I received my order and found a cup of chili I called BiteSquad to tell them they delivered the wrong soup. BiteSquad refused to do anything about it because they blamed the restaurant for making a replacement without consulting them. Then I called The Local back and the women who answered (who was the same person I previously spoke with) told me they ran out of clam chowder before they prepped my order and when I expressed I didn't want the chili she repeatedly said "I don't know what I can do about it". My issue was with both companies, but I was really taken aback by The Local's complete lack of customer service. She truly couldn't have cared less.This was disappointing and frustrating. read more

I just recently moved my office into a complex across the street. We tried the other two restaurants (bars really) that are near the office they're ok but then we stumbled upon this deli. Boy am I glad we did. We've been back once a week since. The sandwiches are great. I like the Greek salad. As a vegetarian I love that they have several veggie options. The absolute worst customer serviced by the MANAGER ever. She tried to chastize me and humiliate me all becuase THEY screwed up my order. I did NOT want my money back I just wanted what I ordered. What I received I would not have eaten and did not eat. I will never go back to this place again. Been wanting to try this place since it always seems packed. Not sure why though... finally ordered and don't waste your money. I spent 16 bucks for a smushed soggy half of a sandwich, cup of soup and pasta salad. The girl at the front was so rude. Forgot my soup, good thing I checked and she was so annoyed I asked for it. When visiting from out of town we always like to find local spots like this. My son was playing hockey down the street. We had 40mim to spare before the game. They had just opened for the morning so we stopped by for breakfast and coffee. It took a full 30min to get our breakfast sandwiches. There was no one else in there! Mind you, they were handmade to order, deli ham shaved, eggs cooked to order - but it was by no means quick and frankly took much longer than it should have. The three people working there were in no hurry. The croissant was day old and not substantial to hold the sandwich it was offered with. My daughter had a bagel sandwich with egggs, chEese and sausage and it was as expected. When not in any hurry, if you are looking for leisurely place to have coffee/sandwich a bit off the beaten path, you be be happy here. read more

Just a couple of critiques: I got a BLT today and like the chicken salad I ordered a few weeks ago, there was more lettuce than anything. Only 3 pieces of bacon. For $7.50, I would like to get less lettuce and a bit more meat. And also for that price a nice touch would be to include a pickle or maybe a small side or chips. I ordered the Italian. Now it is my fault for not paying attention to the fact that it came with mozzarella cheese -- but really? Mozzarella on an Italian, who does that? Swiss or Provolone -- period. If only that was the worst of it. They say they uses Boars Head meat, I'm not so sure -- it was DRY, and I mean really dry. Maybe it had just been in the freezer a long time, but they only opened a week or so ago. The lettuce was something you would expect from Burger King. The tomatoes were just laying on top of the sandwich. The only redeeming quality of the sandwich was the bread. It was fresh, and cooked very well. read more
