Of course when I arrived at 2:30 pm they informed me that the retirement process takes 90 minutes to complete, there were four people ahead of me, and they stop processing new applications at 3:30 pm. So, 1 star for the incorrect info provided by the head office. However, the local staff rate 5-stars for being cool and fitting me in before the deadline. IT'S IMPORTANT TO CALL AHEAD and to CALL THE LOCAL YARD, and not the incompetent clerks at the 800#. and get there early to make sure you have time to get the paperwork completed and get your check. Sold them my truck that has been serviced and maintained its whole life that also had brand new tires and new clutch for a measly $300... Was told the check would be in the mail 3-5 days after the truck was picked up the check would be in the mail. 2 weeks later nothing came. My dad had to go down and pick up the check they hadn't even written up. Lousy experience and probably wont do business again. read more

Do not go there. They list , on their web site, burned out hulks of cars, for several months running, just to get you to pay the enterance fee. There are NO usable parts on these, just a burned out shell. They had an Alfa Romeo listed, which I saw the first week it hit the lot. Totally burned, no engine, interior parts, NOTHING.! Don't waist your time going there, wish I could rate them less then one star, so I got there and asked the front desk guy a price on some headlights, he gave me a price off 22$! So I walked in the wrecking yard and found the headlights I needed and I spent over an hour getting them off, I walked back inside and there was a different employee at the front desk and I told him that I was quoted 22$ for a 99 Acura headlights, and he told me that it was 87$ which was a very high price for some old headlights, I told him that the first guy said 22$.... He than told me he probably gave you the wrong price after I spent over an hour taking them off and I even offered him 50$ because I basically waisted my time and he said "no I can't do that we're just going to throw them away after you leave so it's a one time deal" I just said go ahead and do that thank you for waisting my time! Went there today to find a seat belt anchor for a middle Captain seat in my 90s era passenger van. They wanted $2 just to step onto the lot. Would have added the two bucks to the cost of the item if they had it but I wanted to check if the van they had was a junked passenger van or a cargo van, which would not have had the seat part. Everything says they close at 6pm but they actually close whenever they feel like it. They have their "closed" sign up by 5pm and will turn you away so don't waste your time or gas... Had to purchase a used motor for a 2000 Town and Country, and wasn't too thrilled at the prospect of wrenching on a vehicle, but I had no other choice. I read some negative reviews of this place, but since it seemed to have the motor I needed at a price I could afford, I went anyway. What a GREAT experience! The vehicles are grouped in a logical way so as to expedite dismantling. The yard is tidy and mostly obstruction free, but the service was awesome. The young lady who assisted me, ( I am no mechanic ) was extremely knowledgable and pleasant, and proved to be a huge help to me. The price was more than fair, and I left thinking," That was sooo much more pleasant than I'd anticipated." I would highly recommend it to anyone needing affordable auto parts. read more

Bad experience. Bad workers. So I went in to get a front driver's fender after looking online and it was on the car. They moved the car to the yard and bent the fender so bad. Very careless. So after talking to a manager about the car we mentioned we saw another one in the production yard. She said to keep on it and keep checking the website to see when the car is brought out to the yard... we kept on it for a few days then decided to call again and see if someone can check if the fender is good on the drivers side. We called to see if the fender in the production yard was straight. After being transferred to Angel she was so unhelpful. Repeating the same info multiple times to check the website and said the yard is 5 acres, too far for her to go and walk... from the front to the production yard is not 5 acres............ anywho. She says when the website updates it's ready. Okay well i checked it Nov 13th and it was not there at 9pm woke up and it was ready Nov 14th... but on the website it says added nov 12th.... the day we were talking to Angel. Basically she was too lazy to check on a car part for a customer and was super rude about it. Not happy with this business!!!! Nothing matches up and employees are lazy! Good luck picknpull and row52!! You need to step up your employee game! I would of spent money there but not anymore. Total joke!! read more

Nimble greyhairs in sweat shirts tooling around the European cars. Humble white middle aged couples arguing in the compact domestics section. Fast moving energetic grease-covered working class guys talking official business in four letter words in the SUV and truck areas. Latino dudes always working in pairs, dilligently and carefully removing whole hunks of import sedans and hatchbacks and Japense trucks. The staff are actually rather friendly. Real nice view of Mt. St. Helena on a clear day like today. The sink works at the hand washing station (unlike the Oakland location), and for a parts yard the whole place is pretty clean. Why are you reading this review anyway? There is no competition to P'N'P. They are the only game in town. read more

I want to say something about my experience at Windsor Pick n Pull and the response of the management. I was looking for 2 side-mirrors to my 1995 Honda Civic. Pick n Pull's computer spit wrong information on the suitable models for my parts, so naturally I bought mirrors that didn't fit. I couldn't get a refund in the Windsor shop, because of PnP policy, but I write to the District Manager, Al Thomas, and he sent me a terrific letter and authorized a refund, which Windsor PnP promptly gave me. Waste of time for me. You might be lucky enough to beet the routine scavengers that pilfer everything, but of the 5 or 6 times I've been since about 1990, I have never found a part I was looking for. While they do offer a nice service of looking on the computer to see if the vehicle you have is in the yard, that doesn't mean it actually is. Just that the computer says it is. I think if you go super often you would have a chance of getting what you need, but if you only go once in a while the odds are pretty low. read more

The last few times I have gone to pick&pull Windsor I left feeling ripped off but since I have been coming here since the early 90's I was just used to going straight there anytime I needed something trying to save a buck over the auto part stores but this was my last visit . I came to find window crank handles for my pick up which is a standard item you can find anywhere and they wanted over $7 each ! For cheap used plastic window cranks that I had to remove MYSELF ! I'm sure I can have them shipped to my door for $3 each online but I figured I would try to re use something that would eventually end up in the landfill . Something has changed over there and it might look a little better but people that work on their own cars couldn't care less about the looks it's all about saving money . Also I should mention that the people working there might have the worst attitudes of any employees I have ever encountered, which is understandable considering the work environment but if you're ripping people off they could at least smile while they do it ....? read more

They have lots of parts for your old car, but don't try to sell them a car. I called them and they offered me money for my old van, and scheduled a pick up for Monday morning. I waited all morning then checked my messages and it turned out that the tow driver had called and since I didn't answer right away he went to pick another vehicle and told me to reschedule. 5 hours wasted. I rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon, waited 4 hours and no one came. I called and they said they had scheduled the wrong van and told me I had to reschedule. Another four hours wasted. I hate them. I kept my word, they didn't. Find someone else to tow your junker. You might get less money but at least they might come when they say they are going to. read more

It's one of the better pick n pulls in the Bay Area because less competition so parts are sometimes actually still there when you get there. My only gripe is the stupid woman that works the cash register (the white girl with the messed up teeth) she's plain stupid and unhelpful. She doesn't even know how to do her job. Someone please teach her how to do a search for vehicles and parts! EVERY other pick n pull can search by year, engine, part you are looking for, and cross reference other vehicles that use the same part you are searching for. Last weekend I was there this girl tells me she can't search for specific years in a range ... I was looking for parts from 1985-1995 Toyota pickups and I just wanted a printout of what was on the yard. She tells me she needs a specific part I'm looking for so I tell her the engine 22re and she still couldn't get me any useful info.... today I went back looking for something specific and told her the part and she tells me she can't search for specific parts which is what she said she needed me to tell her last weekend? Someone train her would yah? I've had nothing but good experiences at this place previously but the last two times this girl was working and she's not good at her job! read more

Hey its cheap, they have lots of cars. You can ask before you go out and take the part off, what the cost is. I needed a bunch of small screws and bleeder valves for my volvo, they didnt charge me for the small stuff just large pieces. I can understand why they are picky about searching, it seems easy to throw in a bunch of little parts in your tool bag without them noticing, I was tempted, but I was honest and it worked out for me. I agree that it is a little bit of a hassle to not have the ability to take a picture, just draw pictures on a piece of notebook paper or bring the part with you to compare and have them mark it when they look in your toolbag. I found 12 maps of various areas of the bay area in a car, I asked what they wanted for them, they wanted $3 for all twelve, what a deal. They charge two dollars admission. Make sure you bring a well stocked tool bag, because you never know what you need and sometimes the bolt is a different size or type than the one on your car. There is a place to wash up. They have special days that are cheaper, call them to find out the discount day. read more

My friend told me all about Pick n Pull and how they always good parts. I have a 96 Ford Taurus and i was looking for a new CD changer, so i said why not? Before i went i checked on their website to see how many Ford Tauruses they had. It said they had at least 12 3rd generation Taurus. My friend and i went and paid the fee, and when i went to the ford section i only found 6 3rd generation Taurus. None of them had the changer i wanted so i was disappointed. My friend found some parts he needed, so right when we left i checked their thrift store and to my surprise i found what i was looking for. It cost me $25 and i went to put it on my car. First it did not work only 1 out of the 6 cds worked (and it was not the cds because they were brand new) then it just stopped working all together. I went to return it for store credit and they said i could not return it because it was a thrift store item. I was mad because i did not see any sign stating this rule, and my friend (who had been here countless times) did not even knew about this policy. I just left and wasted $25 plus gas if they had a sign saying this policy i would have never bought it. Next time i'm going to try find one online i know it might be expensive but at least i know it will work. I'm never going to this location again. read more
