I just had a terrifically good experience at G&C Auto Body Repair in Windsor. I was rear ended on the freeway and my AAA insurance recommended them. Everything was perfect. The receptionist was helpful and efficient. When I came in, she had my contract ready in no time and set me up with Daniel, the adjuster,. He is a good listener, helpful (with suggestions), called me several times to keep me informed of the progress of the work and when the car would be ready. When I came to pick up the car, he showed me what was done.. My car was perfect! The workmanship could not have been better; it looked like it came from the factory! I am very grateful to the people who did the work and impressed with their skills.. The car was washed and I left, one happy customer! In a clean sparkling car! G&C Autobody's Windsor shop is a disaster--avoid it. Dropped my Scion xB for a bumper repair in Nov-Dec 2024, paid a $500 deductible, and they kept it for a month. Used cheap non-OEM parts, did a shoddy job (bumper sticking out), and only fixed it after I pushed back. Jan 17, 2025, Toyota found rodent damage--a chewed cabin filter unit--that wasn't there before G&C's lot. Another shop later confirmed the rodent damage. I saw two rodent traps on their property; Yelp review notes similar issues. The manager admitted they hire a pest service for rats but turned uncooperative when I raised the damage, with dismissive emails. I've never had rodents, ever. Mercury Insurance's top brass pressed them--they flat-out refused, despite 10 BBB complaints, only 4 resolved. Their negligence leaves me facing $500+ in repair costs, plus $128 already spent on a filter replacement that didn't fix the issue. Don't trust your insurance's pick like I did--find a smaller shop yourself. read more

Had my Mustang in there after a stolen recovery. Had a scratch on the hood and a cracked windshield. The under engine cover was gone and the wheel well piece was tore up. When I got it back the paint was perfect. She looked amazing. I don't drive her very often. After about 6 months I was washing it when I noticed the whole front bumper cover was moving. I looked underneath and saw that not only was the engine cover not there but the torn up wheel well was still on. As well as one of the front Air dam covers was missing. My fault for not checking everything out thoroughly . When Ii brought it back they told me I (or someone) had damaged it again after they fixed it and that I would have to file another insurance claim. Again. Totally My fault for not checking everything out when I picked It up. Just wasn't expecting such shoddy work. Lesson learned read more

They presented our car as "finished" but it was obvious that quality control was very poor. The hood had shut lines that were really bad, one side was so close that you could barely get a razor between the panels the other was really wide, and the hood was slanted on the horizontal. I'm not looking for a SEMA quality car but this was a mess. Our service rep was Irvin Lopez. He apparently couldn't have cared less that the repair was poor. He really let the business down in the way he handled us. To be fair the manager of the site did respond and it got fixed, but the car should never have been presented as being fixed to us in the first place. Take your business elsewhere, there are plenty of other choices. read more

I'm gonna start by saying that this single star is not a knee jerk reaction to my dislike of the air freshener they use or my disdain for the color of shirt my representative was wearing. I try to write more good reviews than bad because so many business have done right by me, G and C autobody is not one of them. Here is why I think one star is absolutely warranted: 1. Bear with me now. I buy a car in almost brand new condition (10k miles) and almost instantly get rear ended pretty bad. The offenders insurance (AAA) sold me on going to their "partner", G and C. Pre-accident everything is inspected and in good working order, no damage to tail lights. Post accident my tail light is cracked and moisture building inside. But G and C could find "no proof" that my TAIL LIGHT was damaged by BEING REAR ENDED. Therefor refused to fix it and bill their "partner" (AAA) for this damage. 2. My bumper was not restored to pre accident condition. The paint job was slightly off (can only notice in bright light, but still). There was also a bubble of paint that needed to be smoothed out. 3. Several months afterward I noticed the bumper was separating itself from the car at the tips (see photo). I figured they would happily fix it since they offer a lifetime guarantee on their work. But when I brought it back and show them they tried to say that they needed to call AAA to see if they would pay for it. Something about a lifetime guarantee on the work had me thinking that they would just fix their mistake. Manager tried to tell me it was from a car wash... all I know is it wasn't a problem before they put on the bumper and now the bumper that they put on is uneven with the car. I've been using the same car wash the whole time. Was never like that before. 4. Manager said he would call me back to tell me if AAA would cover them fixing what they screwed up in the first place. But of course, he never called. Overall I feel cheated. If I could do it again I would choose an auto body that was not partnered with the insurance company footing the bill. You can see how that might get a little bit sticky when it comes to the quality of work on your car. I don't want any response from management telling me to come in and we can talk about it, I've moved out of the area and hope to never see the GNC logo again if I can help it. I just hope this review helps somebody else make a smarter decision in the future than to bring their car here. read more

We went to G & C Auto Body in Windsor recently because my car was in a minor accident and we inquired about a quote in order to get the car fixed. Long story short, my husband was driving my car when someone pulled out while he was in a roundabout and crashed into the passenger side door. Thankfully, no one was injured, although the side passenger door needed to be replaced as a result. The customer service was great! Chris gave us a quote and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. I was provided a rental car and picked my car up once it was repaired about a week later. The whole process went smoothly and I felt that I was in good hands. They did an exceptional job on the repair. They even washed and polished the outside of the car. So, Bambi part two. Two deers in one month and a visit to two different G&C body shops. The latter being the one in Windsor this time. I thought for sure I was going to be replacing yet another front bumper. The front desk was able to get me booked the same day for an analysis of the damage, which did not look terrible, but I was hoping for the best. Upon arrival, one of the employees came out and took a thorough look and gave me the breakdown. I was ecstatic to find out that apparently the new bumper that was just installed was some sort of super bumper. So much of a super bumper that the bambi damage was neglectable. The G&C spent some time though inspecting and pulling on parts to really leave me as a happy customer. The best part is, they did not charge me a dime, which was great as another competitor wanted payment just to take a look at the damage. So yes, this review is not solely based on a repair job, more so about the wonderful staff employed at this G&C location. read more

Took my truck to get the damage appraised, mind you it was not a lot. Bumped into a post going zero miles and hour and dented the bumper a bit, and pushed the side panel up enough to where tailgate was rubbing up against side panel a bit when you opened the tailgate. Long story short, appraisal was 6k+ for such minor damage. Replacing the bumper I understood, that was about 1k, labor I understand too, but where they got the other 4-5k from was beyond me. Took my truck to another place nearby and their total cost was for the same work was 2k... the other body shop said their (gnc) appraisal was grotesque and borderline extortion. I agree! My son brought in his vehicle for repairs after an accident. Repairs were fully covered by insurance. Basically we were given an estimated time of repairs of a week. After six weeks, numerous calls to the business, and finally going in to complain to a manager, he finally got his vehicle back. I feel we were put on the bottom of the list to service due to my son being young and myself a woman. What a terrible feeling as a customer. I've taken my cars to G & C seven times in the past 10 years. I'm a magnet for collisions. I usually go to Santa Rosa's G & C and always have a good experience. I've taken it to Rohnert Park's G & C and had a good experience. This is my 2nd time taking it to Windsor's G & C and I'm terrified to see how my car turned out with the horrible service they've been providing me with trying to get simple updates on the status of the repairs. They've had my car for over 1 week now. The car was rear ended. I've literally called 3 times today. 1st call I was told I'd receive a call back in 30 minutes. Never received a call back. When I took the car in, I was told an Enterprise shuttle would pick me up. They never showed up so the manager gave me a ride to Enterprise. When I got there, they had no reservation on file. G & C or my insurance company never requested the rental car. Now I'm being told my car will get sent to Santa Rosa for calibration. I've requested to pick up my car there because I don't ever want to step foot in Windsor's G & C again. Had I been told my car would get sent to Santa Rosa, I would have just taken it there to begin with. I'm beyond frustrated with this place. BEYOND frustrated. Ugh.. Update: the owner of G & C called me after I posted this. He asked what he could do to help w/this miserable issue. I mentioned it would be great if you could fill up my gas tank and he agreed. When I picked up my car, guess what? 1/4 tank of gas. What a HUGE disappointment. I'm going to a different autobody shop next time I'm in a collision. read more

Very disappointed in the professionalism here. My vehicle was vandalized in the front and back and when I took it in for an estimate the GM wrote my claim up as two different incidences and all but called me a lier. I spoke to my insurance agent and explained and they "State Farm" allowed me to to take it for another estimate. Had a Mazda MX5 with front end damage repaired. Body work was minimal as entire front panel that encompasses the lights and grill, along with the grill, needed to be replaced as it was cracked. Thus, paint job was what mattered. Paint didn't look right when it was picked up. Wavy. Didn't match adjacent panels. Arranged to bring back and have it buffed our some more. Picked up and still looked odd (plus grill was filthy with buffed dust). Commented/complained and pretty much was told it is best they can do by Aaron Green and boss Jeff (?). I've sense figured out they used incorrect paint. It is totally obvious in bright day light or with flash light that the size of the metallic flakes in the paint is totally different from the original paint. Service was also terrible. I drive a school bus so I could not answer calls but did call back immediately between shifts. Could not get through or get call back multiple times which cost me a few hundred in extra car rental days (another issue as car was not done on time as a result). When at shop, I over heard someone else adamantly staying on line to talk to Aaron who was not calling them back either. I was advised against G and C by others which is odd as they are mostly highly rated. When I complained about the dirty grill I was informed the do not do a detail clean of the car as part of the body repair. Sure enough, looked at website and it is not listed as with most other repair shops. I guess returning ones car with water spots and smeared dust is ok at G and C these days. Sucks to look at my car every day and see a two tone paint job. Complained to my insurance company who directed me to them and they did nothing. They are in bed together. read more

Wow, this had to be the most frustrating encounter with a business I have ever had. I went for an estimate, that seemed pretty good. BUT then I went through approx. 6 non returned calls. WHAT is that about?? This was over the course of about 3 weeks. I had the check from the insurance company and wanted to get my car fixed, but they never seemed to get it together enough to return my phone calls and deal with the other insurance company. I honestly think they don't know how to deal with other insurances or customers. A**** (don't want to name names) is a disaster that never returns calls. If I was his boss, I would have a "come to Jesus talk" with him and have him hit the road. I had my car repaired after a collision, and it took a while but I was patient and happy to get the car back after 8 weeks. My car was infested with mice when I got it back, and they made a very minimal effort to try and resolve it, and basically told me "they don't have a rodent problem". Patrick Crozat told me that I can't prove that the mice came from their facility and not my home. Not helpful at all and now I have to file another claim with my insurance to fix what they refuse to take responsibility for. Zero stars. read more

The experience I had with this company has been a nightmare. They were unprofessional and discourteous! My car was totaled in an accident that happened at my work and their property insurance covered it. The estimate to fix the car was $5,000 and my car was worth $3,800 at best. We were all convinced it was a total so I bought another car. Well, G&C decided to lower their hourly rate and fix the car. They must have pretty outrageous hourly rates if they can reduce the cost of fixing it enough to not total out the car. (they lowered it by $1,300) The insurance company was to issue me a check for the repair amount and G&C kept HOUNDING me for the check They said that they had received their check for the rental already. They acted like I cashed the check and was just not going to pay them. I called them at 4:30pm on Tuesday and lo and behold they said that THEY had the check. They did not call me and said they needed me to wait a few days for when they heard back from the insurance company to make sure that it was not a duplicate check. I went there right away and they wanted me to wait to pick up the car until they had heard back from the insurance company. I refused and said they had the check so they had been paid and I was taking my car. They acquiesced and when I went to the car it was outside and unlocked! They were not expecting me to get the car until a few days later. Would they have left the car unlocked and outside the whole time? Also, when I went to turn the radio on it did not work as they did not enter the code like they should have to make sure the car got back to me in working order. I believe they wanted to keep the car there as long as possible to collect extra storage fees from the insurance company. This is a horrible company and I will never do business with them and will make it a point to tell everyone I know to avoid them like the plague. read more

The bumper of our Lexus was scraped and we needed an estimate and repair. The gave us a prompt and courteous estimate. When we asked if it was possible to save a bit and reuse the bumper pad, they said sure we'll see if we can get it off and back on without damage. They had to finish and repaint the bumper and after completion it looks better than new. It's impossible to tell there ever was damage or work done. They were courteous and on schedule. The environment of their shops is famous. They look like a high end home or hotel lobby with lots to read and a TV quietly on to one side. If you have to wait at all, it's a nice place to wait. I would go there again if I get body damage to a car- that I hope doesn't happen again. read more

I'm not going to lie, I was not impressed with G & C. To be fair, I was told that they're very hit or miss - sometimes their service is out of the park, and sometimes they fall flat. My experience was unfortunately the later. I was hit and had some rear corner panel damage. Their time estimate to repair my car was extended, and extended, and extended, oh, and extended...I understand, especially with auto body work, that new damage can be unexpected and elongate the time needed to repair a vehicle. What frustrated me with G & C was their inability to manage customer expectations, and failure to communicate. Don't tell me that my car will be ready Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday-Friday, and then never call me. I shouldn't have to call every other day inquiring if I can pick up my car because I was told it would be finished. I will not be back to G & C, nor will my friends or family continue to refer their auto body shop. Getting in an accident is stressful enough, working with an auto body shop shouldn't be. read more
