Man, Downtown AutoBody does it again. I brought in my BMW M850 wanting to have a new carbon fiber grill installed, a taillight adjusted, and the hood adjusted. I arrived and was promptly greeted by Mike. He was great. Gave me a solid, affordable estimate, and I promptly scheduled my work. I arrived to get my work done a few days later and was helped by a guy named Al. He was great. Friendly, communicative, professional, and easy to work with. I received my car back on time and in perfect condition. The technician did a great job. I visited Downtown Autobody with no appointment to get an estimate, after a loaner in my possession was damaged. Martin grabbed a clipboard and came out to the lot to observe the damage. He explained the whole process, insurance claim vs. self-pay. Expected timing of the job, the methods in which they repair, just all-around great advice. In this case, the car's current condition (clear coat peeling hood and roof), mileage and KBB value wasn't worth a small cosmetic fix like this. I had an accident in Healdsburg on the 31st of May leaving the gas station this HUGE truck is parked in the out lane at the station so I decided to pull up next to him and then he takes off into me. And his name is George McConnell in Windsor to which he lied to the insurance company about what had happened saying it was not his fault total bs!! So then I take it you to Eurocal the auto repair shop to which they give me a huge price to repair it. And I say I have to pay for it so Billy takes off some of the charges because I stopped them from fixing the back quarter panel to which I think it should be a lot less, but he's not coming down any so I look up auto repair shops around town and ask some friends. Well my friend Lynne and Todd recommended Downtown Autobody. One of the last places I took it too and the Best estimate. At 8,500 down from 11,800 at Eurocal and I go with Mike at Downtown Autobody!! And the guy is so on it. He communicates with me the entire time and they had a car for me to use while my suv was being repaired and a week later I got my SUV back and I'm so happy with it!! I stopped by Downtown Auto a few days ago, to talk to them about a scratch on my car. One the guys came out to talk to me his Martin Bayola. He checked the scratch an immediately recommended that I order a can of touch up paint from the dealer, and when I get it to bring it over to the shop and he'll touch the scratch for me. I received the paint yesterday so I went to see Martin. He graciously did the the touch up and didn't charge me at all. I've been goin to Downtown Auto for years and they always Came through for me. I had an amazing experience today at Downtown Auto Body, thanks to Martin. I called to ask when their next available appointment would be to get a quote for a few door dings and scuffs on my passenger side. I was told to come on down anytime today before 5. When I arrived I was greeted my Mike and was told they would be right with me. Within seconds Martin was at my side shaking my hand introducing himself. I showed him the areas on my car and he asked if I had a minute for him to try to buff them out. Wow, what an awesome experience! I did some research on line and this place had some positive comments. I was not sure if I wanted to repair the damage to my car since in a few months I will pass it down to my teenage twin daughters. The owner said it would be a few thousand to repair, but given the circumstances, he suggested I just "buff it out". Since I have no idea how one does this, I asked him how much that would cost and he actually said no cost, if I could bring it back the next day. True to his word, I brought it back, and he had someone buff out the entire length of my car and while I could see the dents from where I was side-swiped, it looked a thousand times better and I saw no need to have anything further done. Part of my job is executive coaching, and a big piece of that is explaining (sometimes slowly and painfully) the VERY basics of good customer service and how to encourage that in an organization. After working with Downtown Autobody after I had a minor accident, I feel like I should just refer my clients to them for coaching because the customer service they provided was the best I've had in over a decade!!! Kind, responsive, clear, proactive, honest, flexible... name the positive adjective and they embodied it. I took my Subaru Impreza there last week to repair some damage to the bumper and undercarriage. First, my insurance company had led me astray on the claims process. Martin steered me in the right direction for my interaction with the insurance company, calmly and kindly. Second, they fixed my car SOONER than their estimate. They originally told me ~3 days and it was done in 2. Third, took care of all interactions with Enterprise in terms of returning my rental car BEFORE I EVEN LEFT THE BUILDING. Third, my wife and I noticed a noise was present on our drive back home. Martin DROVE TO OUR HOUSE to pick up the car and take it back to the shop, while returning my rental car AFTER PROACTIVELY EXPLAINING THE CHANGE TO ENTERPRISE! Fourth, they don't specialize in the type of issue that was causing the noise, so they took my car to a nearby AAA to do the work. Fifth, Martin drove my car back to my house. And to be clear, I'm not right next door. I'm about a 20-25 minute drive away. He was on the road for over an hour and a half to make sure we were taken care of. I don't know if their motto is under promise and over deliver, but it could be! I had a broken tail light and some damage to my bumper, and was told it would take 3 days. They called me half way through the second day telling me my car was done! When I picked it up, they had graciously filled in a couple of small spots where the paint was nicked off on another part of the car. Also, to my surprise, they completely detailed the inside of my car, in addition to giving it a good wash on the outside. I needed to replace l/side mirror on my car. I got an estimate asap from Al!! He ordered the parts (they had to build the mirror in pieces as it was discontinued by the manufacturer) and called saying I could swing by and it would take an hour to install. They took the time to give me great customer service & pointers on what I could do on my own, and gave me their honest opinion on whether the repair was even necessary. This visit had to do with a loose door gasket and headlight.
