Summary: Avalon RV added a heat pump and some major electrical upgrades to my Airstream Basecamp. I was very pleased with both the process and the results. Working with Adam was excellent. Highly, highly, highly recommended. I have a 2023 Airstream Basecamp 20X. I was a little underwhelmed with the electrical setup from the factory, so I decided to get some upgrades. I asked the dealership, but they quoted me some truly astronomical prices for half of the work, and wouldn't even do the other half. So I started looking around for other options and landed on Avalon RV, due to the excellent reviews. Dear reader, the excellent reviews are true and well deserved. I worked with Adam on my project. I gave him some initial specifications, he responded very quickly, and the detailed nature of his responses and suggestions indicated that he understood exactly what I was looking for and exactly how to accomplish it. And the total cost was much more reasonable than what I had been quoted by the dealership that sold me the Basecamp originally. From their reviews and website it looked like Avalon RV usually only worked on vintage units, but they were totally comfortable working on my newer 2023 model as well. Avalon RV installed 300 Ah of additional lithium batteries, a Victron Multiplus 3000W inverter, an extended underbench enclosure for the new electrical components, a Cerbo GX unit and GX touch display for monitoring the system, a RecPro rooftop heat pump, an accumulator tank, and an extra 120V outlet. Checking back in seven years later to say that all the work done by Avalon RV to my 1965 Globetrotter still holds up beautifully! We redid the landscaping around our house in 2020, finishing right before the Covid lockdown. As part of that project, our Airstream was connected to the sewer line and we had a trailer hook-up put in. Since then "Moxie" has seen daily use as an office (and sometimes as our second bathroom...), and everything works just as beautifully as the day we brought her home. Adam was amazing!! I had been dealing with a janky connection from my roof solar panels to the solar controller. I went another unnamed shop and they tried half baked fixes like c-clamps, strong beige tape, tapping on wires, etc lol. I would leave the shop and come home and it would not work again. These guys rock!! I was looking for a reputable shop that specializes in vintage airstreams to finish up some plumbing work on my 1964 Globetrotter, install a new water pump, fix a leak in the city water line, repack the wheel bearings and evaluate the old air conditioner. After searching around a bit, someone from the NorCal Airstreamers recommended Avalon. It took a while to book an appointment (they're booked solid for weeks ahead), but I'm sure happy that I waited for an opening with these guys. Brought my Globie down from Sacto and left it with Adam and Paul fully to expecting to wait a week or so. Adam called later the very next day to let me know they were done! Great job and reasonable. Adam is a great guy, and his work is excellent. His crew knows what they're doing when it comes to high end Solar. I came here to have a Magnum MSH-3012 Hybrid Inverter installed and it turned out great, for the most part. I would definitely recommend his services installing Solar equipment, he certainly knows what he is doing. It took a while to get an appointment after sending payment, but I guess he's really busy. I did have to wait a day on-site because, but I have no problems with the delay, of course planning for unforeseen consequences weeks in advance is impossible. There was no issue staying with my unit overnight, so it wasn't a concern. The wrap up was on the night before Thanksgiving and there was a bit of a late night drive to finish the project which left left one strand of romex uncovered and unfastened, which wasn't really a big deal to me considering the amount of work done in the time they had. There wasn't a whole lot of time during the rush to finish so perhaps I got in the way near the end of the day because I knew there wouldn't be time for a proper walk through. I did pay a bit more than I thought was fair for having the batteries rewired, but there seems to have been a preexisting wiring issue that went by unnoticed. I tried asking for a quote to correct this via email twice, but it seemed like he wasn't interested in taking that job on. read more

Adam and the team are gods when it comes to the electrical/solar stuff. I had a makeshift (DIY by previous owner) 500W solar setup that had so many small issues I couldn't count them on my fingers. They went through the system fixing them as they went and now my electrical system is working perfectly. I have had Adam and his crew work on my trailer which was an older 18' Terry, they did what they said they would do when it came to repairs and enhancements, offered advice on what I should do and counseled me on things I thought should be done but really didn't need to be done and would not add value which I greatly appreciated. We enjoyed 3 great years with that old trailer which thanks to Adam and his crew performed admirably. We sold that, and as a result of what i learned from Adam purchased a new Air Stream! It will be at Adams shop for some add on's soon. I know a lot about my own business and product but I am a regular civilian when it comes to these trailers and I know when I ask a question or want to do something $$$ signs do not appear in their eyes! Often its "don't do that" or "it would better to spend money on this" always with my best interest at heart. Last year my wife and I bought a classic 40+ year old RV on EBay, hoping to use it as a mobile office. The photos were beautiful and we bought it "as is" from Michigan, over 2,000 miles away, without an inspection. We peeled back the vintage shag rug to do a simple carpet replacement and discovered that the wood floor and the overhead sleeping area were rotten with mold and wood decay from years of hidden water leaks. We soon had a long list of problems with plumbing, electricity, woodwork, appliances, cabinets, etc. I checked out Avalon RV Restoration and liked the owner and the crew. They seem to love the restoration of classic trailers and do excellent work. They have about a dozen vintage trailers on the lot, mostly Airstreams, being restored or in line for restoration. I waited eight weeks for a slot. Their prices are fair and the quality of work is superb. From custom cabinetry to ingenious electrical upgrades, you couldn't ask for more. Thanks to Avalon, we now have a beautiful wood interior, warm low-amp LED lighting, upgraded heater, modern upgraded converter and inverter, re-worked plumbing, new rooftop sealant, a first-rate battery bank, and high-output solar panels. They flood-tested the clear, gray, and black water tanks, and pressure tested the entire RV for leaks. The floor is actually stronger and better than new, with new frame welding and foam insulation sandwiched between marine plywood--no squeaks, no spongy spots, and finished with understated Marmoleum. Avalon saved our vintage RV from the junk heap and kept a beautifully restored work of art on the road. read more
