I got too close to the opening of my garage and damaged the right side of the front bumper of my Ford Fusion. I have pride in my ride and wanted to get it repaired so I took it to Hansel Collision Center in Santa Rosa. Christopher and his team were able to repair the front bumper and straighten the right fender so that I didn't need to replace it. The team was able to sand, fill and paint the front bumper then reinstall if perfectly in 6 days. Plus, the team was able to reuse a flange, so I was not charged for a new one, which saved me $25.00. I got my Subaru's rear end side swiped and the car needed rear suspension work as well as body work. I have to say you cannot tell which side of the car was damaged now. It took a little longer than expected (due to one part being on back order), but Jorge kept me informed and when I picked up the car it looked like nothing had ever happened. Detailed inside and out. BEWARE OF HANSEL AUTO COLLISION I had brought my car in for repairs and was told that the turnaround would be a week. When I called to find out the status of my car, I was told everything was going great and it was being worked on. After a week went by, I found out that no work has been done on my car and it was sitting idle. As a result of this run around and false information I received, I was told that Hansel would pick up the cost of my rental. Fast forward with my car getting hit and damaged while it was in their care, my car sat over there for over a month. Then, besides the lack of communication and the stories I was told, they then refused to honor their commitment to pay for the cost of my rental. It was the worst experience I have ever had, especially having purchased two cars at Hansel and spend tons of money. If your car needs to go to a collision center, I highly recommend you look elsewhere as my service experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. read more

During a time when getting anything done in Bay Area is challenging this team rocks. I had a passenger mirror on my Passat that was damaged and needed to be replaced. Steve provided a temporary mirror while we waited for the new part to arrive. On the day of installation it was done quickly and looks like new. If I could give this place a -5 I would. This is one of the most corrupt body shops I have ever dealt with in my life and I have dealt with dozens. The only reason this car went here is because I thought in my mind since I had boughten my daughters Subaru Crosstrek at Hansel then it's only right I should take it there to get a bumper replaced since someone backed into it. When I brought the car in the first time for an estimate they said it would be a week. Keep in mind that this is an insurance claim as well and I think that makes a huge difference as to how they treat the job. A week later I brought the car in and the manager Ed Changed his tune and sad he would have it done by the 28th which was 10 days. Ok, whatever, have to order parts and paint the bumper, still ridiculous in my mind for a no more than 2-3 days. After they pulled the bumper off they re wrote the estimate that went from 3k to over 10k. They wanted to paint half of the car for a bumper. They had even circled things on the fender saying "fender buckled on impact". when I'm the one that actually put the ding on it over a year earlier. There was so much insurance fraud going on I lost my cookies and told them they wouldn't be painting half the car and I only want the bumper painted. I also told them I wanted to see all the old parts they they took off and replaced and I wanted the old headlight since there was nothing wrong with it, (more insurance fraud going on). They have had my car for over a month for a 2 day bumper job. I went in there every week for the past 3 and the car was sitting in the same spot torn apart with excuses as to why it wasn't getting fixed. Once it was parts, once it was the painter was out on vacation, another time it was this is more than a 2 day job there are new parts that are getting welded. I told the estimator Danniel, (which seems like she runs the place) that I didn't believe them in what they were trying to replace and I wanted all the old parts except the bumper so I can actually make sure that they in fact replaced the parts. She said you can have what you want. I finally go to pick up the car yesterday and talked with the manager and pointed out some re-aligning that need to be done because the gaps were too big and I then asked him to see all the old parts and that I wanted them, including the now 2 headlights that was on the final bill. He said the guys went home and when I come get the car tomorrow after he re-aligns the fender and hood he will figure out where the parts are. Keep in mind the final bill that I asked to have sent to me before I picked up the car had shown an extra headlight that needed to be replaced (these are $1k headlights a piece) and it showed that some of the parts they ordered in the supplemental estimate that they said without a doubt needed to be replaced, in fact didn't get replaced. When I went to pick up the car today and asked if I could please have all the old parts including the headlights "ED" the manager told me that they are all gone, they threw them out, I cant see anything. What a crock of you know what. This place does nothing but lie to its customers and is fraudulent in every way when it came to this job. They order things that actually didn't need to be ordered. In fact, I'm going to be taking the bumper off the car and actually looking at the things they said they replaced and worked on and if I find that they actually didn't replace the things they said they did I'm going to sue them. I reached out to the Director of Fixed operations and the General manager of Hansel auto group and no one has returned an email or even given me a call.. This place is a joke, and to think I have bought several cars from the Hansel group and done thousands and thousands of dollars in business with them and have recommended them to 100's of people to buy cars over the past 20 years of living here. I will not ever do business with this Auto group again. Period. Stay away from this auto body shop and I would recommend staying away from this auto group completely if they treat their customers like this. I will also be submitting a report to the C-BAR which is the agency that overseas body shops in California and I will be reporting this fraudulent activity to anyone else I can report it to. You wonder why our insurance keeps going up? It's because of places like this that take a $4k job and turn it into a $10k job because insurance is paying for it. The hood and fender still have too big of a gap and the paint is off, I just couldn't keep the car in there any longer, I will be having someone else re do their mess up which is unbelievable to me after them having the car for over a month. Took the wife's Mustang in after a minor driveway incident. James & Erin where great about keeping us informed of when the parts would arrive and getting us in when they did. No painting or body work was required (thankfully) so I can't tell you about that part of their company. But the broken brackets, muffler and such where replace quickly and you cannot tell it was ever worked on. I actually got a tape measure to check the exhaust tips from one side to the other and they were dead on. The wife and I are well known for how "picky" we are about our vehicles and we were both very happy with the results. I hope the need to go back never happens but if it does their ability to stay in touch and deliver on time and as promised goes along ways with us. I was in a fender bender a couple weeks ago, where the driver was not paying attention and rammed into my stationary Crosstrek at about 40mph. By some miracle, I walked away unscathed and the car was still in a drivable state. I decided to bring my Subaru Crosstrek to Hansel Collision Center where I was greeted by Steve and James. They walked me through their repair process which encompassed damage assessment, ordering of parts, and told me they would take care of me. When I needed a car, they loaned me one. When I was wondering about the status of my car, they called me with an update right on queue. My Crosstrek was the first car I had ever bought so being in an accident was rather stressful, but it was these things that made the whole process a little easier. Unfortunately, upon further inspection my insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. When I needed the car they loaned me a couple more days, they said no problem and were extremely helpful with the rest of the process. I don't usually write reviews, but they stayed true to their word and took care of me so I felt they need to leave this one. Not too sure when I'll get another car, but I would definitely come here again if anything happened. Thanks again for all the help! read more

Don't Make An Uninformed DecisionI hit a deer in my recently purchased BRZ from Hansel Subaru. I had just less than 1000 miles on the odometer. I thought that keeping it in the Hansel Family, Hansel Collision, would be in the best interest of the car. It took them two months to get a new hood and bumper, which was no reflection on them. When I dropped it off the manager circled several dates that he expected the car to be ready. Both of those dates came and went. No one contacted me. I live almost two hours away from Sant Rosa and my 30-day car rental was about to expire. I ended up personally paying for an extra day on my rental. I had advised both the "Estimator" and the manager of the situation. Okay, I cut the loss and drove home. About thirty miles from home, on a dark rainy night, The engine splash guard opened up because it had been compromised and not replaced. It acted as a scoop on the road, picking up debris and gravel.I sent the estimator pictures and she ordered a replacement. That was almost two months ago. The passenger window tinting is messed up. There is primer on my back window. The passenger fender and door have big buffing swirls. I have filed a complaint with BAR, CA Dept. of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automotive Repair. I have emailed my predicament to Hansel Subaru with no response. I am back in touch with my insurance company. I am detailing all of this with Subaru of North America. My advice is to just drive by the Collision lot on 2966 Cours Court. Look at all the cars parked in the lot. They are struggling with quality control. If your car insurance has a working relationship with a body shop, that is a far better route to go. You will be treated more respectfully and there will be better built-in accountability. If I could give fewer stars, I would. My car was hit by an uninsured motorist and I decided to take it to a certified Honda Collision Center. The Center continuously delayed the process with little to no explanation. I understand delays happen, but communication helps! I was repeatedly given a deadline that was missed time and time again. They ended up having my car OVER A MONTH, which I've never experienced. The last time they missed the delivery time, I was told it was because they have to wash the car. I offered to take it unwashed and was told they can't do that. Even after missing 10+ deadlines. The lack of communication and consideration for a customer's experience was appealing. I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket for OVER A MONTH because it was an uninsured driver (which I told them in the beginning) and they still had no sense of urgency. read more

My partner and I had called/visited over 10 Ford dealerships, auto shops, etc in the Bay Area trying to get seen for a very simple fix on the back of our van that we live and travel in. After getting job done on almost new car , 14, 000 $ worth ? they used parts that were not Same as originally in car , my windshield is cheap, chips ez , paint job too thin -chipping all over hood .Hansel has life warranty on paint but place is zoo and doesn't return a call ! Do not get your car especially a fancy car done at these crooks, unless you wana watch em like a hawk , even then good luck w their crap! Turns out, there was damage behind the rubber bumper ($1800 worth!). HCC was great about the repair and assisting with the rental vehicle I needed. After over a month went to pick up my car and yes the rear bumper was completely fixed but now there was a very deep scratch on the side, after telling them about it, they refused to fix it and claimed the scratch was already there when I 100% know it wasn't. I owned my last car for 14 years without a scratch on it. I finally get my BMW and it seemed like it had a target painted on it. I was hit twice in about a year and a half, I did shop around before I went to Hansel as I thought they'd be more expensive. I was wrong. The 1st time they found more damage then the other shop and still came in less expensive. My car was fixed perfectly and I had a nice loaner to drive. 2nd time I was hit, same story and they even buffed out some light scratches not related to the accident. 3rd time was my fault...I nailed a curb hard and my car is very low to the ground. By now they knew me by name, worked with my insurance, gave me a loaner and made my car all pretty again. Customer service was beyond good, and my car looks perfect. If I HAVE to use a body shop again the only place I'll go is Hansel. read more

This place is amazing! Steve is my hero! Customer service was above and beyond and I couldn't have asked for a better/cheaper/faster repair! We had a strong wind blow open the back door of our converted motor home and bend the sheet metal. The door wasn't closing all the way and it was letting air/light/sound through and making us feel unsafe and uncomfortable at night. We must have called ten different body shops-- nobody could get us in, and they all said it would be several days work and probably cost several thousand dollars. Steve was sympathetic to our situation and got us in and out within half an hour and charged us almost nothing. They did an amazing job, and got the door flush with the seal-- no light, sound or air leaks. Plus it looks good as new! Our home is cozy again, can't thank you guys enough! read more

Our parked Honda was hit, leaving the left rear corner completely smashed in. We contacted the closest Honda collision center for repair. We ended up having to reschedule leaving our car at the shop more than once and Pamela was exceptionally nice and patient. She was very friendly and worked with our budget. She was also able to get us a loaner rental car at no cost while our car was being repaired. The manager Paul was quickly able to evaluate if the frame was affected and knew just what needed to be done. We just picked up our vehicle and are pleasantly surprised, even shocked at what the repair guy Joel was able to do! It looks excellent, like it never happened. The entire repair ended up being very fairly priced and they're all great to deal with. Unusually pleasant experience getting one's car repaired! Thanks you guys. read more

I had a A+++ experience at Hansel Collision. I was rear-ended a few months ago, and finally got the insurance information/situation worked out from the person that hit me. I chose Hansel since I purchased my car from Hansel Honda. I'm really glad I did. From being welcomed in the front office, to them calling Hertz so that I could be picked up and taken over there to rent a car, from the daily (yes, daily) courtesy calls from James letting me know the status of my car repairs - this was an excellent experience. I could go about my day knowing that my car was in good hands and being repaired. Thank you James for the daily courtesy calls! Outstanding customer service, from everyone that I encountered. Awesome as what a story! Great is what you need to know for a start! I would give these guys 10 stars if possible. Ok, I am a small business owner myself with a Ford Transit Van. Last week I was working and when getting out of my van...a sudden gust of wind grabbed my driver's side door and ripped it away from my hand like a sail. Nuts! I heard an instant groan of metal bending. I could not close my door afterwards and had to force it shut just to drive home. I called Hansel to get an appointment with an adjuster thinking...ok...get a couple estimates (Geez this is gonna cost me!$$). I get to Hansel greeted by a personable gal at 9:00am. I was waiting for the adjuster who was with another customer. I started to have a talk with the Manager Steve (Great dude with plenty of cool stories that we had in common like living in Colorado). After 10 minutes or so...Steve said he would get Sal from the shop to look at my door...Kid you not! Sal had a couple tools and within 15 minutes he had my door repaired!! Phenomenal! I was not expecting anything like this...Blue collar guys getting the job done! Wow! We talked for a bit and then I was on my way! Truly an amazing experience! I will do business with Hansel any and every time for now on (including buying my vehicles). This is not my first time doing business with Hansel and each time (factory recall prior) they went beyond expected customer service! Steve, Sal...Thank you! Much appreciated! Sigh--it really pains me to write this review because the staff there are very nice (ESPECIALLY Pam, she's a rockstar). But too many things went wrong with my last experience with these folks. Our BMW got dinged in the parking lot of my work by my colleague backing out and not seeing the car and side-swiped it. She didn't want to go through insurance for a minor ding, so she was paying out of pocket to get it fixed. I took it to Hansel Collision Center for an estimate, which was within reason, and started the process to get it fixed and have my colleague use her credit card to pay for it. I was assured that when I took the car in to drop it off that I would have a new BMW for a loaner car--sweet! Pam had it all arranged before she left on vacation, and left the instructions that 1)I had that as my loaner and 2)my colleague's credit card was on file to be charged. Perfect. I show up to drop off the car and they couldn't find my paperwork for a long time, and seemed surprised I was there--uh oh, this isn't starting off well I thought. Once it was found and started, there were not many loaner cars at all, so I got a VW Jetta--bummer. I would have liked to have had the BMW promised to me, but I'm not going to be THAT GUY complaining about that--I had a loaner and it got me from point a to point b. The first day I drove that car I noticed a STRONG smell of cigarette smoke permeated throughout the car. So much so that on day 2 I noticed it on my clothes after getting out. This wasn't going to work. So, I called over and they said they had an older BMW to give me (2008) and I took it. Drove over, exchanged the cars, and drove off. Perfect! Drive it to Healdsburg and when the oil light came on...oh no. So I called, the guy who answered said bring it back and we'll put oil in--I told him that is a long way from Healdsburg if the car really is that low on oil. Then he said buy some, put it in, and save the receipt. Uhh...OK, but shouldn't this car have been checked out by you guys? If felt odd so I called back to talk to the lady who exchanged the cars in the first place. She said "oh I thought I told you that light comes on, it's OK, the car needs mechanical work but the oil light isn't functioning--you're fine." I felt like asking for that in writing just in case! At this point I just laughed, shook my head, and drove the car until mine was fixed. I got the call that the car was fixed and that could I bring the loaner car in WITHIN AN HOUR so they can give it so someone else. Nice warning...but yeah, I could. I bring it in, get the keys for my car, and then they ask for payment...um, we've been over this--my colleague (who you've talked to and gotten the credit card information from) was paying. They couldn't find the paperwork--again. Finally the manager said "give the guy the car keys and we'll figure it out." Thank you. I get into my car, drive off, and am happy that ordeal was over. But it wasn't over--the next day was bright and sunny and while loading the trunk I see clear as day a huge area of overspray, where it was dripping down. Sooooo, another phone call, another trip, and it was fixed. This experience should not have been like this. The constant comedy of errors, misplaced information and instructions, oddball loaner cars, and (I hate to say it) an air of incompetence really makes me question using these guys again. I hate saying it because everyone was so nice, but honestly actions speak louder than words and these actions were pretty deplorable... read more

Horrible service if I could rank negatively I would. Hansel Collision has had my vehicle for 7 weeks now and repairs still haven't been completed original was given 3 weeks but a little more damage was found but still. Given the holidays ok....but this is crazy, the only partial update I will get is when I call. And even then it's like pulling teeth to get any information, the response I usually get is "next week" or it's "still at service." I will only get information when I call, they will never call me first. I called on a Monday and left a voicemail ended up getting caught up with work and school and didn't hear a word for a week and a half until I called and got a response of "next week". The amount of times I have called and only heard the phone ring and ring is far to many, with no response to my voicemails. Stupidly enough I didnt have car rental coverage with my insurance so I've been paying out of pocket for 7 weeks now and it's adding up, and with what.....the promise of it might be ready next week, and how they are still trying to get me into a rental with lower rates that they've promised for a month now and have done nothing about. I feel that they will only tell you what you want to hear to make you happy while they take their sweet time. Please save you time and go elsewhere. read more
