I had used this place for many years, when it was owned by McLeas and the experience was mostly positive for routine oil changes & tires. In fact I had my 2015 Volvo (not quite 50k miles) serviced in May 2025 for an oil change & overall inspection. All was said to be fine. In July 2025 my check engine light came on. Since the Dealer had no openings, I tried AAA. They found one problem but then said they needed more time to research a second problem. This took several days! They fixed the fuel line issue, then replaced the thermostat & had to flush the coolant & replace it. Two weeks later we drove to So Cal. About maybe 160 miles into the trip the Coolant warning light came on, we had to stop the car far from any town. Almost had to tow the car to a garage, but we happened to stop at a gas station where we bought some coolant to get us to our next destination. Took the car to a repair shop the next day. They found that AAA had either left air in the coolant hoses or they had not replaced the reserve coolant receptable cap properly, causing the leak & light! Upon further inspection, they pointed out that one of the tires was bald on the inner side & that it was starting to come apart! Remember that I had just had the car in for service 2 months prior! I bought 2 new tires from that garage. Don't need an Owner response to this. The manager has already apologized, given me a partial refund and promised to deal with the service techs. read more

Yesterday, at 9:30 am, I spoke with Salvador regarding several service needs for my Subaru. We discussed the potential work and what options were available. I obtained an appointment for a couple days hence and he indicated he would put together a quote, listing options, and email it to me. I was to call him back to confirm my preferences. At 3:30 pm, not having received either an email or phone call, I called AAA back. The call went to voicemail and I reviewed the fact that 6 hours had elapsed since our conversation, without communication of any sort. I asked that Salvador send the email so I may make a decision. It's now more than 24 hours after my leaving a message, without any response from AAA. I will no longer consider using this auto repair firm in the future....waste of time! read more

We drove up to Windsor from San Jose for the night due to a friends birthday. We enjoyed the night and were ready to go to the Russian River, but went to the car and received the dreaded low tire pressure. I called AAA immediately and Brandon picked up. He provided the most thorough run through of what to look for and even facetimed. So my car broke down when I was with my friends wine tasting in the area, and this shop was the only one open, which was nice. However, there were a few things that I was very disappointed with. I got my car towed from AAA to the shop. They told me that it was unlikely the car was going to be serviced, but they were going to run a diagnostic test. I confirmed they had my phone number and would call with the diagnostic, but I never received a call and when I called they had closed and locked up, not even notifying me. This was very frustrating because I live an hour and a half away so I had to Uber home and then figure out a way to get back up to the car. I then found out when I called when they reopened that they had to run a diagnostic on the test, but still did not call me. This was very frustrating and made my experience very stressful. The communication was not good at all, especially since I was not local to the area. They ended up fixing the car but the experience could have been much better. read more

would not recommend this place. Took my 07 TL when it started making a different sound when turning the steering wheel. Paid a few hundred, got my car back, by the end of the day it made the same sound again. Took the car back, paid closer to a thousand. When coming back to get my car, they were showing me how they fixed the issue, DURING the demonstration the car made the same sound again. Had to make ANOTHER apt for them to "fix it for good." Not really rocking with the whole "third time the charm" motto when I comes for paying for my car to get fixed. Go to your local dealership or literally anywhere else. read more

Had my fuel filter replaced, I received a multi point vehicle inspection report that everything was checked as good. While driving home, the vehicle ran rough and displayed a mass airflow sensor code. Replaced the sensor but did not correct the problem. Took the car to Chevy for diagnostic. $464.00 later, they reported the airfilter was so dirty it caused the code and would not allow exhaust system to regen (Diesel). Sent an email to AAA shop to find out why their report showed everything, including air filter was good but received no response. Sent email to AAA corporate, no response. I have spent a fair amount of money over the years between services and tires and expected a response. I will no longer use them. As a result of this, I have discovered Cooglers on Piner Rd Santa Rosa and will be spending my hard earned dollars there from now on. read more

I was at the nearby junkyard looking for used tires for my truck and found nothing. Saw the "used tires" sign here and decided to check it out. Was instantly greeted by... Ryan? Sorry, bad with names. He was very helpful and found me a good pair of used all terrains with plenty of life left at about half the price of a new set. I could have got cheaper used tires elsewhere but not a name brand with plenty of tread like the ones I bought here. Overall everyone here at McLea's was super nice to deal with, and they even offered a free bottle of water which was a nice gesture. Oh, and I don't really go off road much but decided to test out the new (to me) tires and well, I didn't get stuck, so that's good! read more

Very straight forward local automotive shop and one I have been going to on and off for many years. I used to visit their Sonoma facility for all maintenance on my car until they closed it years back, which resulted in a hiatus of visits to their shops since none were nearby. Then McLea's opened up a shop right down the street from my work, which is great! I have since made several visits for oil changes and tire puncture repairs since I can simply walk back to work while the car is being worked on. Their staff has always been very respectable and fair in pricing compared to many other shops in the area. I have never done any major work here, but may give them a shot if it comes to it versus the dealership to compare pricing. read more

My wife took her Subaru to AAA a few weeks ago after a bunch of warning lights went on. They replaced an 11 month old battery that did not need replacement and told us the transmission needed to be replaced for $9,000. They charged us $412 fir the battery we didn't need and the diagnosis. We took the car down the street to Drive Rite for a second opinion. We were told a solenoid went bad in the transmission. This could be replaced by a Subaru transmission specialist. They charged us $75 for this much more helpful diagnosis. At the end of the day it turned out to be a $900 repair not $9,000. One again I was EXTREMELY impressed with the Customer Service, Attention to detail, and Professionalism provided by Ryan and the Team at McLea's Tire & Automotive in Windsor. It's that time of year to check and replace those worn tires before winter and hopefully a rainy season. Ryan scheduled my appointment which included a wheel alignment. As scheduled, the new tires were installed, and the wheel alignment was performed. Only to find that my vehicle was pulling to the right. So back on the alignment rack it went. After at least 3 attempts to get the wheels aligned, and several test drives the vehicle still pulled to the right. At this point it was closing time. Ryan was very apologetic, and asked if I could return with the vehicle the following morning. He did not ask for payment for the tires or for any of the work that had been performed that day. He just asked if I could "bring it back in the morning and he will make it right". The following morning I dropped the vehicle off and they attempted the alignment again, but still the vehicle was slightly pulling. Ryan called me to inform me that it still wasn't perfect and asked if I would come and test drive it for myself. Yup, it was not perfect. Ryan agreed and offered me a couple options, which included getting a different set of 4 New Tires (that same day) Installing them that day, and doing the alignment again with the different set. All the while Ryan's main concern as well as the staff, was about my satisfaction with the tires and alignment. Long story short, the Second Set of tires Aligned Perfectly. The first set of tires had a defect that caused them not to allow for a proper alignment. The Tire defect was not McLea's fault. It was a manufacturing issue. Stuff Happens, and when it does it's not the problem, rather how it's handled and resolved. Ryan handled the problem, with a genuine concern, and the obvious goal of putting my satisfaction with the Tires and Alignment as the #1 priority. That's what I call "Excellent Customer Service" I highly recommend Ryan and McLea's Tire & Automotive for your tire needs. read more

Well, I came to my appointment at 10:30 for a tire rotation. As we are all familiar this is not more then a 10-30 min job and that's being generous on the longer end. I'm a patient dude, but after being upsaled to the nitrogen inflation, being told my tires are out of balance (rebalancing another additional fee) I'm feeling a little frustrated after waiting almost a hour for a simple tire rotation. It should be noted I bought 800.00+ dollar wheels from these guys and unlike les Schwabs tires. I'm being charged another 20.00$ for rotation. I get it. Everyone needs to make money. But, let's be real... if I'm going to pay for this service which is free elsewhere. Should I also have to wait with a appointment over a hour? I don't think so. I like to patronize local businesses if I can, and this location appeared to be locally owned but affiliated with AAA. I have purchased tires and needed assistance with flats on two occasions now. The prices and service have been marginal to poor. When I reached out for flat assistance, both times I was told 'we're short staffed.' When I questioned this second time, the rep told me 'two of our staff are still in Mexico.' Considering I was trying to get to work this wasn't great news to hear. I was also told I'd have to drop my car off for a flat repair and no idea when it would be ready (no shuttle service either). The vibe was 'we're too busy to help you so don't expect assistance right away.' They also seemed happy to encourage me to go to other businesses. With both flats I have had to travel to other distant locations to resolve the issues more quickly. Terrible service model and unable to assist when truly needed. read more

My Tesla got a flat at Fort Ross Winery late in the afternoon on a Friday. Because Tesla's do not have a spare and I was out of range of Tesla mobile service, I needed to have AAA tow the car to the nearest tire store that could help. I spoke to John at AAA Windsor Auto & Tire Center and he was very helpful, not only coordinating the 45+ mile tow, but also having four new tires installed by the next morning (Saturday) so that we could make it back to our home in Marin in time for another commitment. I bought 6 new tires for my diesel motor home in June and discovered in October that the dealer I had do the work had put on one smaller tire than the rest. I saw it when I noticed the tread was almost gone and I was three hours away. McLea's was the closest Michelin dealer. When I spoke with Them and explained the situation they were quick to get me in. Both Bill and Josh jumped right on it when we got there and spent a lot of time making sure we were set to go. They even did a full inspection and reported it to Michelin's for us.
