-Hari (the owner) is very personable to me probably because I have been there so many times. He keeps a clean and neat shop, not some crusty grease pit. -I have taken multiple vehicles here due to convenience. I've never had to take my car back for a second time because the problem still exists. -They do fix RV's which is a huge bonus. -From the work I have gotten done here the prices feel a little more than they should be. There is definitely a feel of bait and switch with the prices on the wall and what the quotes end up being. I always get the bla bla bla about my truck and it costs more than the stated price because...or this costs this because of that... Part markup is 50%-150% I've looked up the prices of the parts after they were installed. They do charge for EVERYTHING. They charge diagnostic fees when many mechanics would just spend a minute and confirm your suspicions. No one wants to spend a bunch of money to be told yup you have a problem.That's why you brought the vehicle in, in the first place. (Not a real good example but: blinker not working. Pay diagnostics fee, then pay a separate shop fee to have it fixed, your already into it, replace the blinker relay or a bulb which takes 2 minutes longer. This being said many mechanics do this, but doesn't stop you from feeling like a double charge for work since shop rates are so expensive. -Many times the phone rings and rings and no one picks up the phone or it says this wireless customer isn't available and then hangs up on you. When you are in the office they pick up the phone on regular phones so I'm not sure if there is a problem with the a call forwarding function. Like the saying goes it hard to find an honest politician, lawyer or mechanic. I would like to find another mechanic but I stick with the devil I know rather than the one I don't. 5.0 stars because my vehicle comes out with the problem fixed however it gets fixed. 2.0 star because they aren't cheap and it always feels like you're paying more than you should because of this or that. I brought my car in to get smogged and was failed by them three times. I followed all repair instructions and was still failed. After the third failure, something didn't feel right, and I took it to another smog shop and was passed in 10 minutes. Very frustrating experience to say the least. read more

Thought we were going to a trusty reliable mechanic but we were mistaken. After paying almost $2k for an 07 ford focus alternator and to fix a power steering leak, we were surprised that the leak was not fixed at all and leaks more than before. Haris solution was to charge more to properly fix the part but at this point his mis diagnosis lost our trust and we will be taking our vehicle else where. Had my Honda towed here for a very flat/destroyed tire (rocks from a mudslide caused a good hole) Owner is very friendly and so humble, had no idea he was the owner, just seemed like a really caring and helpful guy who directed our tow truck driver on where might be the best/easiest way to pull my car in. Prices are very fair and work was completed quickly despite their shop being fairly busy. Folks that work in the office play nice tunes too and the waiting area is very clean and comfortable to sit in for a while. read more

We were in town for a Memorial service, and on our trip back home to Humboldt, the serpentine belt slipped off of the track for our little Chinook RV. Of course, it happened on a SUNDAY. We had the rig towed to Drive Rite, based on a recommendation from the towing company. We had to stay overnight in a hotel, but Hari made sure that they worked on the vehicle as early as possible on Monday. They were able to order the parts AND get us back on the road by 2pm. I don't know if they had to push back any other appointments, but we were so very grateful that they were able to get us in and back on the road in less than a day. read more

They suckered me in with " the 55.00 smog check" then hit me with an outrageous repair cost. Disappointed that I had a bad experience with them since I live in Windsor and wanted to support someone here. Called to make an appointment yesterday and was told they didn't have anything for today so made it for next week. He was not very friendly but I thought maybe just a bad moment. Ended up finding someone to smog it today since I'm selling my car and called to cancel my appt for next week. Got the same guy (I think) and when he asked if I wanted to reschedule and I respond with, "No, thank you...", he hung up on me. Wow, that is not the way to gain customers. Here's how it went. I brought in my car to have it smogged. There is a huge sign in front that advertises the check for $39 plus $8 certificate. After coming in and making an appointment they told me that European cars are more to the tune of $80. I asked why since the vehicle is OBD2 compliant to '98 specs and should plug into any test machine like any other car and was told by the attendant that European cars are more difficult to smog and it "could take up to an hour". Seriously? First of all I recently had a Saab (Sweden) smogged there and they did not charge me extra so it seems they changed their policy. Secondly the story line about the difficulty of smogging a European car is complete nonsense. All the same OBD2 systems on all the cars based on O2 sensors adjusting air/fuel mixtures and a catalytic converter to burn off any hydrocarbons that bypassed the combustion chamber. Nothing new. These folks are not to be trusted unfortunately. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Nice people, but in fairness they should stick to smog checks. Made an appointment for a steering sensor calibration issue. I showed up and Hari said he would need it a couple of days. No problem. Got a call the same day that he diagnosed with a steering wheel not being aligned causing the calibration issue. He said he could take care of it but in a couple of weeks after this. Hence the reason for my review. I have a Prius and the steering sensor is auto calibrated and it ended up being an issue with a non-OEM sensor. The sensor auto calibrated even with the wheel being off centered. Bad diagnosis. So you evaluate it as you may. My take away: I won't go back for issues with sensors not communicating and behaving correctly. Maybe a smog check. read more

He volunteered to go to Vietnam. I have taken my Acura, Odyssey, Mercedes Sprinter van to them and they always do an excellent job, are very honest people you can trust, charge me much less than the dealer. Have all the latest machines to test your vehicle. Hari has a team of certified technicians and he himself inspects most of the work done by his team. He did not fire any employees during Covid. This is an experience that happened to me here recently. I brought my car to them because it started making a scraping noise coming from the area around the wheels, presumably to me worn brake pads. I came here because it's in Windsor where I live. The guy had an attitude from the beginning and started by quoting me $135 for the brake inspection, even though their posted price on the wall for a brake inspection was around 50 or $60. When I pointed out that huge discrepancy, I was told that that the high price included the drive test afterwards, which was obviously ridiculous because a drive test doesn't take but a few minutes, and any auto repair job like that should always include a drive test anyway. I pointed that out to him. He was rude and added that the $135 would not be put toward the repair either. I told him to forget it then. I turned and started to walk out when he immediately said he could do it for half the price, $67.50, which seemed as if he was trying to get what he could for the job, very unprofessional. That new price was still slightly higher than the posted price, but I thought it was close enough, so I agreed. I just wanted to get my brakes taken care of sooner than later. I was told they would call me later with a price for the repair once they found the problem. When he called me, he said the rear brakes needed new pads and the rotors needed to be resurfaced. He also said both rear calipers were leaking due to torn boots that needed to be replaced and that the brake fluid needed to be flushed and replaced. The total price for this was quoted at $916.59! That sounded really high to me for a brake job, especially for only the two rear ones. I ended up picking up my car and paid the non-refundable $67.50 for the inspection. I brought it to BNC in Santa Rosa which charges NOTHING to inspect your brakes, as compared to the $135 he tried to charge me. They looked at it and said that the calipers were not leaking and that the boots only had a small tear on one of them but was not causing any leaking and did NOT need to be replaced, nor did it need new brake fluid. BNC replaced my rear brake pads and resurfaced the rotors charging me a total of $243.39. There is no sound coming from my brakes anymore and they work perfectly. I would not recommend taking your car here unless you like being charged close to quadruple of what the price should be to repair your vehicle. BNC is very honest and well worth the drive to Santa Rosa even if you live in North County. read more

Not very happy with the service at all. Our car had been with them for almost a month and a half. We brought our car here cause it was not pass smog and wanted a second option. An appointment with the referee was set up and they missed the appointment they said our car died. So they have to catch the next available cancelation. A week rolls by so we decide to see what is going on. The lady that anwesered the phone said she would call back never got a call back. My husband calls again they say Harry is busy we will call you back and she assured someone would call back by the end of the day well guess what no call back so I decide to call first thing Monday morning and the end result is come get the car and we will give you a letter to take to the muffler shop because the cats are bad but that was not the case. We decided not to run around and get a third opinion so we took it to the little mechanic by our house Ted's smog shop and was done three days later. I (much like the other stories on here) broke down near this place, and had to have my vehicle towed there. After the $110 diagnosis they wanted to charge me $880 to replace the fuel pump, as well as a few other unnecessary procedures. This place overcharges on parts and labor. When I asked if they would install the part I purchased I was told they can't because they "make money on parts." I later purchased the pump on eBay for $70 and took my truck to Windsor truck, where they installed it for $200. $600 mark up on an install. read more

They will not make appointments for oil change and tire rotation. If you drop in, even at the proper times,(ie: not btw. 12:00-1:00PM). They will keep you waiting much longer than the 90 minutes they advertise.. It is very difficult to be their customer! read more

I took my van in for an oil change last Dec. 2011 and forgot to write a review. I chose the $41 oil change with all point check. I was there for 1-1/2hrs. for this choice, even though it is a 30 minute job at other facilities. No water or coffee in the clean waiting area, so bring your own. You can't view the work being done on your vehicle, so can only hope that everything was done as promised. I will try another place next time and see if it's any faster and if I can view the work effort. read more

They are the ONLY location I refer ALL my customers to for any smog and complicated check engine issues! My family has personally used their services twice and have been extremely satisfied. I call on Monday to have a repair done on Friday. They say it will cost 315 to put new headlight bulbs in. BUT, they can't do it today, I'll need to leave my truck there until next week. Then when I show up to get my truck, it's sitting outside with the window down, keys in it, unlocked!! Hello, any auto theft out there want a new truck worth 70k?? Easy pickings. So after this, I drove to all around auto in Windsor. They put the new headlights in in one hour and charge me 130. Don't waste your time and money here, go to all around auto for help. read more

Wow.... worst communication in history. Told by one person to come get RV before closing. Smog and oil change and they had the whole day. I get a ride across town and it's not ready. They say I should have known two days. REALLY? Who would ever expect two days? Not Emanuel who checked us in. We HAD to take it for another appointment because we are trying to get out of town with it. So we take it to it's appointment in the morning and brought it back. Now I say you've already had it a full day but we will give you another day and a half to get the smog dog and filter back in. I get a ride and come back two days later and ITS STILL NOT READY. My second review on this business. The two ladies in front are sweet but not very reliable. I took my vehicle in on a Monday to get a diagnostic after a check engine light came on. It took 6 1/2 hours to do a check engine diagnostic. WTH?!? Then Patty claimed she would call me the next day with a quote. Guess what didn't happen? You guessed it, no follow up. Third business day and still nothing to show for it. On top of all this, I was quoted $95 for the diag. When I got there I was charged $110 and was told the rates went up on Friday which was 4th of July. After I was quoted $95 on Wednesday the 2nd. My wife's car was towed in, it broke down on her way to work. they gave her an estimate to repair the car $2,700.00? they even went so far as to say the oil cooler had failed, why is that a problem you may ask? the car does not have an oil cooler.
