Stay Away, these folks are as suspect as a three dollar bill. They provided me a cost estimate that specifically identified my car, the problem, as well as the parts and labor they would supply. It said: "Total Estimated Price $1,450 - $2,200). I brought my car in to have the work done. Hours later I received a second estimate. Now it was $3,463 to provide the same parts and do the same work; its not that they found a new problem. When I declined this outrageous up-pricing, I was told I had to pay a $140 "inspection fee" before I could have my car back. I was not previously advised of an inspection fee and I never authorized one. When the manager was told I would present all written correspondence to the district attorney's office, the fee suddenly became $87.50. After, pointing out that he had nothing authorizing an inspection fee, the manage reluctantly let me have my car without a fee. Huge waste of time and very stressful. read more

Very odd that you have a contactless interaction with the company for an alignment or spring replacement. You can only book on line, You have to use a door code to get in waiting lobby, after you drop your key in a box outside for possibly the only human at the shop to retrieve key and then text you when car is done ! Spring works had the option to do a job on my Volvo semi truck that other shops quoted $11K plus dollars to perform. I've moved on due to the completely bazar behavior of this shop. Went in for an alignment, I just bought tires at America's Tire and they gave me a discount card for alignment at Springworks. They had my car on the rack for about 40 minutes, and I got a text... everything is by text, no humans... that they couldn't do the alignment, parts needed replacing. A guy came out to get money... $40, discounted from $60. I could leave the car for repair, or leave and get an estimate... I chose that. On the way home I stopped at my regular garage to see if I could get an estimate for the control arm bushings and loose wheel bearings that supposedly needed replacement. The owner put my car on the rack, checked it out, drove it and came back to tell me that the supposedly torn rubber on the bushings was cracked, normally and were fine, and the wheel bearings were fine, no work was needed. He said when I next need a service come in and get the wheels aligned, it would save money over doing it now and then having the service done separately. I was not charged by my garage for the estimate at all. I'd avoid these guys for alignment on older vehicles, it seems that they are either incompetent or unethical. Spring Works are pro's and do excellent work. Doing an allignment without making necessary adjustments and repairs will just lead to more missallignment. I understsand the lock box scenario. Spring Works is busy and the lock box is an efficiant way to leave your car in a secure manner. This place needs time to repair your car and do it the correct way. If they spend all of thier time babysitting customers who want to nit pick and second guess they will never get anything completed. A few bucks to pay for an inspection and an estimate for repairs is a great deal. This isnt a fast and go oil change operation. Spring Works does the job correctly.. worth every penny.. You must be patient and let the professionals do thier job. read more

I appreciate that they stand by their 12 month warranty. I brought my trailer in for service, and afterwards I was still seeing some electrical issues with the trailer. 8 months later when I used the trailer again I noticed the issues were still persisting, so I contacted the owner and they set up an appointment very quickly and fixed the issue perfectly with no charge. The mechanic (Phil) is diligent and a good communicator, and went the extra mile to follow up after I left the shop to make sure that everything was working well. read more

My boat trailer axle broke while towing out to Lake Sonoma. Turns out it had only an underrated 3500lb axle rating. They specd and installed a 5200lb axle, new hubs and brakes, tires, fenders, and lighting plug. Lifesavers. Reasonable prices for this rebuild. I had Spring Works make front springs for my 66 TR4A. There are no historical specs so we started with 30% less than samples (competition springs). On putting them in, found they were the wrong length by 2", sent back to be corrected. Installed again - felt they were still too stiff so I paid for another effort at another 30% softer. They arrived 2" long again (at least this time we only put in one to confirm) and so sent them back again. The next set was correct length but same stiffness (and same wire diameter) as first two sets. After several months - and having paid mechanic $700 for each R&R, I gave up. I'm sure they cover this stuff for Santa Rosa/in house customers - just a lot of delay - but for me 50 miles away it was kind of pathetic service. And very expensive. read more

Last summer I came to Spring Works because the rear wheels on my trailer had recently started rubbing on the fenders. I was told at the time that my rear axle was bent and would need to be replaced. I was not convinced the axle was bent, so I had a discussion with the floor manager to explain that if I had the axle replaced, I did not want to find out afterward that the wheels were still rubbing. I asked him to guarantee me this would not be the case, which he did verbally, so I told him to proceed. Your crew was unable to find a replacement axle, so they had one custom made with my approval. This cost me nearly $2000. When I picked it up, the rear wheels were still rubbing on the fenders. I spoke with the manager about this, and he offered to make it good. When he looked at it again, he tried to tell me the fenders were installed improperly. I reiterated that the fenders had been just fine for the first 3 years of ownership, so that was not the real problem. To make it good all he offered was to cut away part of my fender. I was not happy with that answer, but at least it let me pull the trailer again. Fast forward to this summer. The trailer has since been on two trips to Alturas, one last summer and one this summer. It has about 2000 miles on it since your work was done. On this most recent trip I noticed the brakes were acting oddly, so I crawled underneath to find that the mounting plates holding the new axle in place have completely failed due to metal fatigue. They are torn through, leaving the rear axle hanging by a single bolt. This is not due to rough use. If it were, the older front axle would show similar damage, which it does not. The mounting was inadequate from the beginning. I've spent $2000 for an axle I didn't need in the first place, and now I can't use my trailer because that axle has failed. Are you willing to fix it at no charge even though the warranty is technically expired? The answer was NO. Then ignoring all further communication. I had to take it to another shop and have it repaired for an additional $750. read more

I walked away with a one year warranty and a sheet explaining every aspect of what was aligned on my car. Furthermore, the availability, while I waited of coffee, organic caffeinated and herbal tea and fresh fruit was welcomed. In addition to that there were four laptops available for customers' use, free Wi-Fi and an area for children to play which looked appealing enough to make me want to sit down and do a little drawing. I will not use this company ever again nor will I ever recommend this company to anyone I had a passenger side spring which was becoming weak I purchased a set of spring from this company and installed the spring to now have the drivers side sagging i have sent measurements and photos to LEO to show the spring from eyelet to eyelet is just about flat and on the front hanger is started to bend downward and for the passenger side to have the spring at U shape as it should LEO's and answer is my truck obviously has had damage in its past and repairs base off my measurements it's possible that the spring maybe defect but most likely it's the truck causing these issues all I wanted to do was exchange the weak spring I received for another I did not want money I did not want free parts just want what I paid for to be functional I got the spill of I'm not just a everyday sales man I've had 35 year of experience in this business and I know what I'm talking about yes I got mad over this and was told he's as high up as it goes and I cannot do anything about it Leo told me the springs are all manufactured the same but yet they can apparently sag on one side a half inch is normal and if this was the case one spring could have been exchanged which he refused to do because there would be no reason to because it's my truck that's the problem not spring works product i told him this is shitty business and he's a shitty person for allowing it then hung up on me LEO you are just the every days sales rep and obviously someone didn't do there job on testing the springs like you said was done before they ship read more

I was recommended by America's Tire (near Coddingtown) as I just got new tires and needed an alignment. I initially made an appointment online but they didn't have the availability so they called me. I made an appointment. Unfortunately the weekend before the Tuesday I had an appointment I had to reschedule. I left a message on the weekend and they got back to me when they opened on Tuesday. They were very accommodating! When I went to my appointment I didn't realize they still had their no touch check-in experience going. I was a little confused as the door was locked. I was able to get in as someone was going out. Would have been nice to have them inform me that the no touch was still going on when I made theappointment. After waiting for about 10 min someone came out to grab my keys. I worked from their waiting room which was nice. There were laptops to use but I didn't need one as I bought my own to work. When my car was finished, I got a couple text messages and was able to pay on my phone. This was an amazing feature! After payment I was able to get my keys from the lock box and I was on my way. I scheduled an appointment online because no one here answers the phone or returns calls. I arrived to find I was unable to speak to a person. Another customer told me to leave my keys in a box and I wanted to wait but never received instructions on how to get inside the locked building. Fortunately there was a woman customer inside that opened the door. After a short wait, I was told that they would not perform my alignment and that I would receive a repair estimate in a few days. The reason given was my bushings needed replacement and I "could" use new struts. Front and rear. I found this odd because I had just had my car in the dealership for a through inspection and service. Including new brakes. I also had just put 4 new tires on my car and they didn't see any problems. Spring Works charged $25. For the "inspection " which should have been part of the service. Their routine is to pay online through an app. I think a customer is expected to go through this whole process without ever encountering a human being. A couple days later I received an email that recommended a charge of over $2000. for new bushing and struts. I took my vehicle to 2 other companies and I requested that they check my struts and bushings. Which they did at no charge. I was told that they looked fine and didn't need replacement. I'm not really sure what kind of con this business is running but my instincts told me to get not one but 2 second opinions. I had the alignment somewhere else and I was pleased with the outcome. I would suggest if you go here and you're told you need excessive extra work that you go elsewhere and have it checked. I did not feel that I should have been charged $25. for an inspection which was part of their job and that I didn't ask for. I left angry and disappointed. Something is wrong when you suggest extra work and 2 other companies say otherwise. I'm happy to say that I had the alignment elsewhere and it was less expensive. I would not recommend this company and I would suggest that you do your homework and take your vehicle somewhere else. Hello All, I rode along with my son that had an appointment to have his Toyota Tacoma front end aligned. We had an appointment at 4:00 PM and arrived about 15 minutes early. They took the truck in right away. I have dealt with a lot of auto shops for the things I couldn't do myself in my 62 years, but I have to say the guys at this shop were great. Very nice and personable folks. They had a clean waiting room with free water, fruit, coffee and actually had laptop computers that you could use while you waited as well. They did a road test before and after the service and all worked out very well. It is great to deal with such people. They did a brief inspection of the truck and reported that all was well. It was very nice that they didn't try the "up-sell" of a service that wasn't required. Really refreshing. I was calling around to find someone on the phone who knew what they were talking about. Spring Works sounded good. Gave them detail information on my vehicle. Model, year, date, Vin Number. Needed a trailer hitch and wiring harness. They said it will be in Friday. They are closed S/S and Monday. Part comes in Tue the following week. They didn't call me to say it was in nor would they answer their phones. I take a chance and drive down. It is in but office and show room locked. So I had to wait by the service bay. Go to install the hitch and it does not begin to be the correct hitch. I call, no answer. So I have to drive back. The staff was smoking their cigarettes, hands in their pockets, doing zip. They offered to order the correct one but it won't be in until Friday. It is Tuesday. I asked for a refund. Drove to Chuck's Wheel and Brake. They ordered the correct part and is coming in the next day. Chuck's said Spring Works ordered the wrong hitch and wiring harness. It was for a complete different model read more

Got a coupon from America's tire for 49.95 When I got there they said that my coupon wasn't valid due to the size of my vehicle. Long story short I proceed with my appointment for wheel alignment they "found" several thing's broken such as left inner tie, right inner tie. Put arm broken, front wheel bearing. Basically most of the alignment parts were broken so they said. They said they could not do the alignment until I fixed those items. I mean c'mon how can a 50,000 old vehicle have all those problems. The only reason I took my vehicle to be aligned because I just replaced my tires, not previous problems whatsoever. So they said they could not do the alignment and they sent me an email with all the repairs needed. I drove back home and the first thing I notice my vehicle pulling to the right every time I pushed the breaks. I called them right away to explain my problem and the answer I got was that I had to fix the broken things they found. That was insane knowing that I had no previous problems with my alignment First thing I did is to bring my vehicle to an other shop with a good reputation and they did my alignment which went really good I was even watching how they did the alignment and everything went very smooth. They gave me my invoice and alignment before and after picture diagram. I understand that due to Covid 19 many Bussines aren't making money. I went online to make an appointment and thought I had done so since I got an email saying they had received my my request and someone from there would contact me within 24 hrs. That was Thursday evening. Didn't hear from them Friday, so I called Monday to check if they had me down for an appointment I scheduled for Monday morning. Nope. But Leo gave me an excuse saying they had switched services or something and it didn't go thru. So, no appointment for me. Flag #1 - really wasn't apologetic about it either. He could make an appointment for me then, however. When? The following Thursday. Wow, OK. Flag #2 Made the appt anyway. Showed up exactly 5 minutes b4 my appt and no one was in the front office. There must be no alert to the staff of a customer arrival because I had to stand outside the door to see if I could get some attention. Flag #3 Finally, Leo comes thru the door (he didn't actually introduce himself, I asked him his name after some conversation - Flag #4) and asks me for my info. Long story shortened: offers me fruit and coffee but not a WIFI code or exceptional customer service. It took them almost an hour to come and tell me that there was "a broken part" on one side of my car and they would not be able to do an alignment that day.(what part? Idk, they didn't say or identify it in their estimate) Flag #5 I could have an estimate from them though. How much? $1300. I got all this info from another employee that had just clocked in and not from Leo who helped me first. My brother is a mechanic for over 30yrs, but lives 3 hours away. I went to have him change out my struts and he found NO broken parts on either side of the car. I don't trust this place and advising you not to either. I did not go back there for an alignment and will never refer this place to anyone. Not sure if it was because I am a woman that they tried pulling this BS or what but be very aware that it's happened b4 at this place. There's another review that sounds very much like my experience. Leo and his team are setting an example for everyone in the car industry of how a successful and honest business should be. Had my jeep lifted here and couldn't be happier. Leo took his time and researched the best lift kit option for me days before giving me a quote. When I did get the quote it was very reasonably priced but more important Leo stressed that the manufacturer Rubicon Express ONLY makes kits for Jeeps as it is their specialty and their customer support is exceptional. So I went with this kit, lifted the jeep a total of 5" after getting new tires and loving the new feel! Now this isn't where their stellar service shined, not yet atleast. Moving forward 4 months I have my jeep regeared at 4 Wheel Parts down the road. Their store manager calls me and explains that whoever lifted my jeep did it incorrectly and has caused damaged to the passenger side factory knuckle which has too much play/movement and he suggests replacing both driver and passenger side with "beefier" units at a price of $700. He explained this was a major safety issue and the jeep should not be driven in this condition. Immediately I told him I had my jeep lifted just recently and that it was under warranty and I would notify Spring Works. Leo sent his technician down to 4 wheel parts to evaluate this "damage" and pointed to their technicians that everything was in fact installed correctly and the only reason there was play in the part they wanted to replace was due to them removing the nuts. The 4 wheel Parts tech didn't really have any further explanation except to say the lift kit used was problematic with known issues. Next Leo called and talked to the manager directly and even got Rubicon express technical support team on the phone with the manager who explained to him that there's no known issues with this kit and the play was normal because the part wasn't bolted down. So hours later, 4 wheel parts calls me and told me the car was fixed and ready for pick up - a washer was added to remedy the problem. Are you kidding me? A washer was used to fix a major safety issue with my vehicle? Sounds like a bunch of b.s but I'll let you pass judgement. Bottom line - Leo and his team went way beyond the call of duty. They stood by their workmanship and their warranty. They even evaluated my vehicle after it left 4 wheel parts to double check their work. They removed this extra washer that was added and showed me there was no play in the parts. Leo and his team never made any accusations and always kept their composure and professionalism, even though it was clear what 4 Wheel Parts was trying to pull. So if you are looking for an honest company with integrity - come down to Spring Works. Leo will take very good care of you with your eyes closed. read more

I got a recommendation with a discount card from America's Tire for $40 off of a $90 alignment at Spring Works. I made an appointment online and when I showed up I found that there is no one to check in with and that you are suppose to drop your keys in a lock box and wait for a text message. I left and about an hour later got a message stating that they could not do the alignment because my car needed additional work and they would send me an estimate in two days then found out that to get my keys back that I would have to pay $25 for an estimate that would have to wait for. Once they waste 2 hours of your time and charge you $25 for an estimate that you don't get for 2 days their business model dictates that they can screw you out of as much unneeded work as they think they can get away with because you have already committed the time and money. My car was just serviced at the dealership and it was just normal maintenance with the exception that I needed new tires and an alignment next service. Spring Works is a scam operation and the State of California should investigate them. I never agreed to pay for an estimate although it may be buried in some fine print online. I went to the back shop and talked to a mechanic and told him either give me my keys or I'm calling the cops. The got back to me on my custom order leaf springs that needed to increase the payload for my 2010 Toyota Tundra. They met my specifications which were an extra 1000 pounds of payload to the bed.
