My wife and I decided to drive out to Brentwood today we were craving tacos luckily the taco truck we were originally going to give a try was closed so we made our way to Oakley. We've tried so many Mexican restaurants and sort of gave up on finding a Mexican restaurant locally we truly enjoyed until today. I placed a pick up order through DoorDash about 15 minutes prior. When I arrived I loved the theme and decor inside with the music playing at a perfect volume. We ordered two taco plates. One was made with carne asada and the other was prepared with Chorizo. Araceli provided excellent customer service letting me know about their loyalty program and even threw in some free chips and salsa as well as extra limes that I requested. Once we got home we were in shock at how good everything looked. We immediately started eating and found everything to be seasoned to perfection and the plates were very cohesive. I enjoyed the spicy salsa that came with the tacos. The salsa verde was amazing too, but I love spice. The rice as well as beans that were topped with cheese were delicious and we loved how they even put grilled onions and radish to top it all off. Both taco plates were phenomenal my wife and I always rate the restaurants we try and we both admitted it was a 10/10! You all should definitely go check it out you won't be disappointed. Delicious chicken tamales with green salsa! I recently ordered some for Christmas & was pleased with it. My guests loved it too! Service is great. Although it was a little slow during pickup, they were very helpful and accommodating when it was my turn to pickup my tray (shoutout to this kind lad Brandon for helping to bring the steaming hot tray to my car!) I live within 5minutes from here and have always noticed it when getting some Willy's bagel at 8am but finally decided to try it as we wanted to find a location around here that has a good nacho plate. Fresh ingredients and the guac was just right. I also ordered the quesabirria w/ consommé but that got inhaled so no picture available. Both orders were delicious and I will be visiting again to try the rest of the menu ! They are a small business so I am happy to support them and the community especially since its location isn't too obvious (you'll know when you visit). The staff was really kind but it was to go so I can't comment on eating in but I'm sure it'll be just as good. If you live around the area please give this restaurant a try. So me and my husband have been coming here for a while now. It's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. The food is so delicious, the staff is very friendly and the owner (I don't know her name, sorry) is just the most sweetest woman, we can tell she really cares about her customers and the quality of the food. They have improved since their first opening. I see they're trying different things like the mocha tres leches. I've never had it. Not a fan, love the original flavor. The service is great. Ahhhh I was super hungover today looking for some chilaquiles and glad I came here, they were sooo delicious! not too soggy, tortillas chips still had a bit of crunch to them which I like, beans and rice were authentic tasting, waitress was lovely and attentive. Just found a great place for Mexican food. The Caldo the Rez gives the family the Ratatouille effect and a must when you have sick ones in the house and just dont have time to do it yourself. After a long day of helping family members build and assemble furniture for their new home nearby, we hadn't realized how late it was by the time we thought about getting dinner. When the person answered the phone and asked, "what would you like to order?" My answer was: a lot LOL Picante offers all the common Mexican restaurant staples like tacos, burritos & nachos with plenty of protein options like grilled steak, grilled chicken and roasted pork. We ordered super burritos, street tacos, a quesadilla and a taco salad. All the items were super flavorful and had good quality ingredients. But the most notable item isn't even on the menu. If you like spicy salas, you have to try the habanero one. Just a little taste set our mouths on fire! Even with that much heat, it doesn't overpower the flavors of the food and kept us adding more each bite. Definitely have some antacids on hand for the next day. read more

I asked for Vegetarian Quesadilla. It's a no-brainer that vegetables will be stuffed inside the tortilla and I had asked for light on cheese. The first order came with only cheese quesadilla with salsa and jalapeno on the side. the server told me that I didn't ask that Vegetables should be inside. Lol. Then the order was returned back and it came back with the one shown in the picture. The cheese was missing altogether. I gave this restaurant a 5 star review before, and I'm giving them a 5 star review again! We've had (and enjoyed!) their tamales multiple times. Today we elected to dine in. What a quaint CUTE little restaurant! There are 3 tables inside that can each seat 4-5 people, as well as some outside seating. The decor is beautiful and vibrant. The music was upbeat and set a nice tone. The volume was pleasant. The food was tasty as always. The red sauce on the tamale was spectacular! Their tamales are always moist! The tacos were also great! The tortilla was very soft and tasted homemade. The prices are reasonable. The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa are some of the best around in my opinion. The best part of my dining experience today was THE STAFF!! Every person working at the location this afternoon that I interacted with was super hospitable! The waiter greeted us with a smile and he continued to be kind, upbeat, and courteous throughout our dinner. It is truly refreshing to experience such great service from a young person. It was evident the waiter takes pride in his work and he enhanced our experience. All the staff were very attentive and did whatever they could to make our experience at their establishment the best possible. I fully plan on continuing to patronize this restaurant! I have been coming here since they first opened, and their food has been consistent since the beginning of time! Actually, I've only eaten the Quesabirria Tacos but they are the fuxking best so I have never had a reason to get anything else. :) It's a small little place, great service and the food is quick. There is outside seating but inside is so beautiful and clean, the colors brighten up the place. It is such a vibe! The food is simply authentic and very delicious! My favorite order is the tacos with rice and beans! The tacos are packed with meat, the rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the beans are not from a can (lol) and loaded with cheese! Newer spot, was open on Halloween and right next to little Cesar where I was getting pizza for my kiddos. Been wanting to try this place since it opened and I was not disappointed. I think the consume was the best part of the meal. The birria was good. My Chile relleno was good but I was not o fan of the rice and beans. Potato taco was a win! I'd definitely get that one again. My husband got an asada torta(of course). It had good flavors but like all the tortas around it had way too much bread. There's very few spots in and around Oakley so I know we'll be back. This place is our new favorite Mexican restaurant! My mom had pozole with all the fixings, it was so flavorful! I had a torta with carnitas (tender n crispy), it was big and so tasty. We were full, but we still wanted to try the deserts. We brought home a slice of caramel tres leches cake and arroz con leche, they were both were perfect sweet treats, yummy! Tried this place for the first time tonight 9/27. I ordered through door dash a super wet carnitas burrito. I chose wet because their mole said it contains peanut so I thought it would be authentic. The burrito was large, stuffed inside, and the carnitas were juicy. The mole was okay, it had spice flavor to it, very red in color, but not much depth in the flavor. Tasted mostly like chile powder. I did not care for their salsas lack of flavor in them. I would try this place again and get something else to see what other flavors they use. read more

I simply ordered a bean, cheese, rice, and sour cream burrito and a horchata to go. $17.81 im thinking ok... thats expensive but ok... get my order, leave and get home to eat. Being new to the area, I'm always asking locals for suggestions of where to eat, shop, and more. Today, I was sent to Picante for the first time. I did notice that it had a couple of outside tables the last time I was in the plaza but I hadn't actually walked in. Upon opening the door, a professional cleaning service provider was replacing their mats on the floor which lets you know immediately how much the owners believe in cleanliness of their restaurant. I decided to order Chilaquiles with pollo (shredded) for breakfast and since I was there, ordered a couple BCRs for my son, and chicken enchiladas for my husband since they will both eat around 3pm.
