So. Another late night pizza joint in books that i totally recommend. My experiences were all late night. When no other places have food. Besides royal farms. Ok. Definitely recommend. Let's start with service : its quick and everything came out correct. No issues. Very friendly guy at the front. Place was clean. They also had tables. I just carried out Ambience - well it's late evening. I was taking million pictures and no one seemed to care or complain. Friendly patrons came in and out. And seemed like they were regulars. So. Ambience was great. Had that late night vibe. Now food itself was great. It's a big menu and everything available until close. Which i think was 3 am. Pizza was fantastic. Extra cheese. A neighborhood institution that has steadily gone downhill in recent years. The owner seems to be content with hiring people who can barely communicate with customers, never pick up the phone, and take 40 minutes to make even the most basic item on the menu. The quality of the food used to make up for a lot of the other things lacking here but the food is now absolutely atrocious. Their baked ziti, for example, used to be great. Now... whoever is in the kitchen has obviously never even laid eyes on baked ziti before, much less made any. And the pizza too, from the crust, to the sauce, to the cheese.... horrible. The food here was really yummy. I actually loved my bruschetta and Caesar salad. My friend got mozzarella sticks and a calzone and she loved them as well. My gripe was the one front-end server. She would take a phone call then put the phone into her butt, then come grab plates, then grab the phone, then bring our food out. Now i will say the sub surprised me cause despite the poor packing of it I truly enjoyed it. Bread was toasted to perfection so none of the juices made it soggy. This time, I was served an abomination against food. A greasy, gloopy, unholy mess. I ordered a Hawaiian pie, but there were 9 (I counted) pieces of pineapple and a few pieces of ham on an 8 slice, 16 inch pie. The chef does not wear a masks or gloves when preparing customers food and the guy at the register thinks that he can argue or yell and insult customers that refuse to eat there once they notice health regulations are not being taken seriously. I just got off of work and decided to treat myself to some takeout so I thought I'd go to this place and get a meal....Bad Idea! I really wasn't paying attention at first because I was just thinking about getting something to eat so I hurried up and placed my order but after placing it I started looking in the kitchen and noticed that food was being prepared without gloves and the cook was not wearing a mask. When I asked for a refund and explained why I wanted the refund I was met was anger and was then told by the guy at the register (a tall brown skinned man with a scruffy beard.) that by law he is not required to wear a masks or gloves when preparing other people's food during a PANDEMIC!!! According to him this rule comes from his boss who was told by a "doctor" that masks cause breathing problems and that you breath more bacteria from wearing a masks then you do without one. When I insisted on my refund because I wasn't buying the no mask law he became belligerent and started trying to defend his beliefs by insulting me and then going into a rant about how his uncle works as a researcher for Johns Hopkins University and that he was going to trust his uncle's opinion over science. So we went from it being his boss to his uncle telling him not to wear a masks in the short time we were arguing over him refunding my money; none of what he stated was backed by any scientific data nor did he provide any such evidence that legally he didn't have to wear a mask to prepare food. When I told him that I am also a researcher that works in infectious disease and I know a thing or two about respiratory diseases he told me that he would rather trust his supposed uncles advice over real scientific data. Then he began to argue about me ordering in the first place when I saw him without a mask and truth be told I wasn't paying attention at first but as a customer I have the right to cancel my order for any reason and not be insulted or told lies to in order for an establishment to try and keep from giving a refund.There were more things said in the heat of debate but the bottom line is you don't argue with customers or try to force your view points on them about what makes them feel safe. In any event I got my refund and I decided to post a live Facebook video about the ordeal and come here to yelp to warn others not to eat at this restaurant. Also, I don't know how much truth there is behind this but when I was leaving he chased me out of the store yelling at me about how he was the owner of that restaurant, (even though he had to call his manager to ask how to do a refund.) and another one just like it and that I should look him up, but he never gave me his name so I could verify if this was true or not. Lol So basically from that you can assume everything out of this person's mouth was a lie and he just wanted to seem bigger and smarter than he is, but if he is somehow the owner then all the more reason not to go here. read more

This was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. A dollar store tombstone pizza would have been better. It's so bad, I don't even want to feed it to my dogs! First bite in, and this pizza is a contender. The sauce is perfect, just the right hint of sweetness. I would drink this by the bottle. Cheese is the good stuff. Basil clearly fresh. Tomatoes are nice and tomatoey. Crust has a nice bite to it with a crisp edge. Seriously impressed! This is much more of an authentic Italian styled pizza -- the kind that so many pizzerias do a poor job imitating. But here it is, so close to home. This is a nice neighborhood pizza joint, with some decent food. I ordered an eggplant Parmesan for takeout and I can't say it was particularly good, but it did the job. The amount of food for the price, however, was refreshing. It came with a tin of eggplant parm, with an entire tin of spaghetti with sauce to go with it. I was shocked! Can I say it's in the top 5 best eggplant parms I've ever had? No. But for the value, I honestly can't complain. This is 2, possibly even 3 meals worth of food for just $14. I'd be interested in coming back here for the pizza next time. As far as the experience overall, it really does remind me of everyone's local joint that you'd go to with the baseball team after a game/tournament. We got take out from here for the first time last night and it was amazing. Baltimore has always been a city with really subpar pizza (namely Jay's), so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was so pleased with our chicken pesto pizza and Caprese salad - rarely can you describe a pizza place as having fresh tasting ingredients, but Piazza 27 delivered. Everything was super flavorful and fresh, which was amazing! All of the employees were really sweet as well - next time we'll definitely dine in.
