Let's start with service : its quick and everything came out correct. No issues. Very friendly guy at the front. Place was clean. They also had tables. I just carried out Ambience - well it's late evening. I was taking million pictures and no one seemed to care or complain. Friendly patrons came in and out. And seemed like they were regulars. So. Ambience was great. Had that late night vibe. Now food itself was great. It's a big menu and everything available until close. Which i think was 3 am. Pizza was fantastic. Extra cheese. And pineapple. I loved it. Wings were also delicious. Good size nicely seasoned. No complains. Onion rings. And seafood platter was great. Just not a fan of that fried calamari. But. It was included. Next time i ll ask for replacement. Salmon cakes were unreal. We also ordered sub which i was told was amazing. Mozzarella cheese sticks. And everyone loved everything. Pizza is DELICIOUS!!! Never been disappointed with the pizza. I have had 3 subs on three different occasions. I've tried the following: 1) Turkey Sub - I asked for extra onions. I open the sub and it had a SLICE of turkey, a slice of cheese, lettuce and what equated to an ENTIRE chunky diced red onion. Who wants an entire diced raw onion on there sub that has nothing else? It was basically a raw onion sub. PISSED!! EPIC FAIL! 2) Ordered a Chicken Cheesesteak Sub... BUT received a 'Cheesesteak Sub' w/ a minuscule amount of chopped beef. Didn't even cover the bread roll entirely. Absolutely flavorless. FAIL!! And... 3) Chicken Cheesesteak Sub. Again, I received a minuscule amount of chopped chicken. A neighborhood institution that has steadily gone downhill in recent years. The owner seems to be content with hiring people who can barely communicate with customers, never pick up the phone, and take 40 minutes to make even the most basic item on the menu. The quality of the food used to make up for a lot of the other things lacking here but the food is now absolutely atrocious. Their baked ziti, for example, used to be great. Now... whoever is in the kitchen has obviously never even laid eyes on baked ziti before, much less made any. And the pizza too, from the crust, to the sauce, to the cheese.... horrible. But the downturn in the quality of the food has only happened in the past month or two and I can only attribute it to brand new kitchen hires who are completely inept. The food here was really yummy. I actually loved my bruschetta and Caesar salad. My friend got mozzarella sticks and a calzone and she loved them as well. My gripe was the one front-end server. She would take a phone call then put the phone into her butt, then come grab plates, then grab the phone, then bring our food out. She didn't have any pants pockets or an apron on, so she would literally slide the restaurant phone inside her pants seams touching her underwear, butt skin and everything. As i continue to find the best Italian cold cut & best pizza in Baltimore my journey lead me to Piazza 27. After a brief circling of the block to find parking I lucked up & got a spot next to the restaurant. I guess midday is the best time to come cause it was empty so my service was quick & fast. Prices weren't bad about round the normal since Covid $15 for the sub & slice. Now to the part we all came for i was truly disappointed with the slice of pizza despite it looking so good it was pretty bland & way too greasy for my liking. Few pizza places have that skill of making great tasting greasy pizza. The portion was perfect it's just the pizza didn't taste too much like anything but grease. Now i will say the sub surprised me cause despite the poor packing of it I truly enjoyed it. Bread was toasted to perfection so none of the juices made it soggy. That's always a plus but I believe that's what made the sub so delicious it was toasted right which allowed me to enjoy it properly. Not a lot of lettuce or condiments so every town you bite into it something falling off the sub. My favorite thing wasn't the taste/flavor/quality of the food itself but the fact that they offer pizza by the slice. Overall, it's an okay place to eat if you're in the area. We were warmly greeted by Antonio, a native of Naples, Italy, and the owner. As a fellow Italian, I knew right away we would enjoy our pizzas. We ordered a slice of Pepperoni, a slice of Chicken Bacon Ranch and a slice of Veggie Bianca. The slices were generous in size - thin crust and loaded with flavor. They also offer starters, Stromboli and Calzoni, Pizza, Italian Sub Classics, Panineria, Old Time Italian, Salads and Pasta. It is also a BYOB. The restaurant has a simple pleasing décor. I heard that Piazza 27 recently changed ownership, so I figured I would drop by. Last time, I was served an adequate pizza for not being in New York. This time, I was served an abomination against food. A greasy, gloopy, unholy mess. I ordered a Hawaiian pie, but there were 9 (I counted) pieces of pineapple and a few pieces of ham on an 8 slice, 16 inch pie. You can't in good conscience charge for a topping and give that little of it. More than half the slices had neither pineapple nor ham. A complete waste of money. read more

WARNING!!! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!! The chef does not wear a masks or gloves when preparing customers food and the guy at the register thinks that he can argue or yell and insult customers that refuse to eat there once they notice health regulations are not being taken seriously. I just got off of work and decided to treat myself to some takeout so I thought I'd go to this place and get a meal....Bad Idea! I really wasn't paying attention at first because I was just thinking about getting something to eat so I hurried up and placed my order but after placing it I started looking in the kitchen and noticed that food was being prepared without gloves and the cook was not wearing a mask. When I asked for a refund and explained why I wanted the refund I was met was anger and was then told by the guy at the register (a tall brown skinned man with a scruffy beard.) that by law he is not required to wear a masks or gloves when preparing other people's food during a PANDEMIC!!! According to him this rule comes from his boss who was told by a "doctor" that masks cause breathing problems and that you breath more bacteria from wearing a masks then you do without one. When I insisted on my refund because I wasn't buying the no mask law he became belligerent and started trying to defend his beliefs by insulting me and then going into a rant about how his uncle works as a researcher for Johns Hopkins University and that he was going to trust his uncle's opinion over science. So we went from it being his boss to his uncle telling him not to wear a masks in the short time we were arguing over him refunding my money; none of what he stated was backed by any scientific data nor did he provide any such evidence that legally he didn't have to wear a mask to prepare food. When I told him that I am also a researcher that works in infectious disease and I know a thing or two about respiratory diseases he told me that he would rather trust his supposed uncles advice over real scientific data. Then he began to argue about me ordering in the first place when I saw him without a mask and truth be told I wasn't paying attention at first but as a customer I have the right to cancel my order for any reason and not be insulted or told lies to in order for an establishment to try and keep from giving a refund.There were more things said in the heat of debate but the bottom line is you don't argue with customers or try to force your view points on them about what makes them feel safe. In any event I got my refund and I decided to post a live Facebook video about the ordeal and come here to yelp to warn others not to eat at this restaurant. Also, I don't know how much truth there is behind this but when I was leaving he chased me out of the store yelling at me about how he was the owner of that restaurant, (even though he had to call his manager to ask how to do a refund.) and another one just like it and that I should look him up, but he never gave me his name so I could verify if this was true or not. Lol So basically from that you can assume everything out of this person's mouth was a lie and he just wanted to seem bigger and smarter than he is, but if he is somehow the owner then all the more reason not to go here. read more

This was the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. A dollar store tombstone pizza would have been better. It's so bad, I don't even want to feed it to my dogs! Pizza is ok BUT DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ELSE! I have ordered from this restaurant a few times. It's my fault for thinking that the first time ordering subs was a fluke. We recently ordered a turkey Panini that came with ONE thin slice of turkey on it (any sandwich you order will look like this- ordered a turkey SUB and it was the EXACT SAME... ONE single slice of turkey) and the "garlic bread" does not actually have garlic, nor does it have any seasonings. It is literally the bottom/end of a sub roll mashed into foil.... barely toasted. First bite in, and this pizza is a contender. The sauce is perfect, just the right hint of sweetness. I would drink this by the bottle. Cheese is the good stuff. Basil clearly fresh. Tomatoes are nice and tomatoey. Crust has a nice bite to it with a crisp edge. Seriously impressed! This is much more of an authentic Italian styled pizza -- the kind that so many pizzerias do a poor job imitating. But here it is, so close to home. The crust lacked a little flavor for me, but that is the only negative I got. That aside, this is one of the best margherita pizzas I've ever had. Can't wait to try their others. read more

This is a nice neighborhood pizza joint, with some decent food. I ordered an eggplant Parmesan for takeout and I can't say it was particularly good, but it did the job. The amount of food for the price, however, was refreshing. It came with a tin of eggplant parm, with an entire tin of spaghetti with sauce to go with it. I was shocked! Can I say it's in the top 5 best eggplant parms I've ever had? No. But for the value, I honestly can't complain. This is 2, possibly even 3 meals worth of food for just $14. I'd be interested in coming back here for the pizza next time. As far as the experience overall, it really does remind me of everyone's local joint that you'd go to with the baseball team after a game/tournament. The staff was friendly, definitely had that family feel. I got my food in about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering what I ordered. If you're looking for value, this is the spot for you. If you're looking for really delicious Italian, set your expectations accordingly because this isn't trying to be that spot. We got take out from here for the first time last night and it was amazing. Baltimore has always been a city with really subpar pizza (namely Jay's), so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was so pleased with our chicken pesto pizza and Caprese salad - rarely can you describe a pizza place as having fresh tasting ingredients, but Piazza 27 delivered. Everything was super flavorful and fresh, which was amazing! All of the employees were really sweet as well - next time we'll definitely dine in.
