Like Piaf's sister store, Chez Fabien, this is a very cool venue and one that buzzed today with a great cocktail hour vibe. We arrived early in the evening, shortly after four o'clock, and began with a glass of Happy Hour house bubbly for my wife and the spicy jalapeño margarita for moi. The marg was very, very tasty. A+. The table is immediately presented with a bowl of what I guess is very thin baked pita chips accompanied by a bowl of the most remarkable Tzatziki sauce we have ever had. After our cocktails we ordered to share the Arugula and pickled beet with goat cheese salad. Though begging for more dressing the salad was very tasty and the kitchen even sent it out very pleasingly presented in two bowls. I give big props to a kitchen that does this. Each portion was quite generous. I wonder how anyone could finish a whole salad! We both chose the braised lamb shanks for an entree. Each shank was the largest lamb shank we've ever been served, and the shanks were braised to perfection. However they did not enjoy the robust flavors of the seasonings that one expects from an Eastern/Mediterranean preparation. The red wine and rosemary reduction that accompanied the dish was quite nice but the stone ground purple grits were, well, purple. Not what one is looking for in grits. The consistency was more of a corn meal mush and flavorless. It was an unhappily bland accompaniment to the lamb. The dish is served with a caramelized turnip slice and carrot and something else that is purple and has the shape of a carrot but which was impossible to eat. It had the consistency literally of a tree branch. Many diners might not touch the vegetables on a plate like this, but even for just $32 a kitchen ought to present vegetables that are palatable and not simply plate fillers. We'll give the store another visit, probably this fall when we can enjoy the venue upstairs, to try something else on the menu. read more

Went there on a whim early on Thursday evening. We were quickly greeted and chose to sit upstairs in their covered bar area with fans. The place appeared clean, is decorated nicely, the staff were friendly, attentive, and responsive. The happy hour menu is great and if I were rating on that alone, it'd be a 4-5 star review. Good drink options and prices. Good menu options at good prices. We got two margarita flatbreads and the brusselsprouts. The flat bread was the highlight of our meal. The Brussels were a large portion but slightly overcooked. We each got meals that were underwhelming and made us wish we would have ordered an additional margarita flatbread and called it a day. If i was rating on the food alone, it'd be a lucky two (outside of the margherita flatbread) The lobster bisque (4 star) was great and had more lobster pieces than expected. The shish tawook (2star) dry (rice & chicken) , under seasoned, and the garlic sauce was too tamed- I want garlic, not just yogurt! One guest got the wagyu burger (2 star) with boursin- and it was big but bland- didn't even eat half. Two other flat breads were ordered (tenderloin then prosciutto fig- both were rated "meh" and not finished nor leftovers taken home (2-3star) Based upon the food, I will not be back for a meal. If I were to go back it'd be for happy hour drinks and to maybe try a charcuterie board with the margarita pizza. The food and selection was good. The restaurant downstairs is beautiful and very cosy. With that being said, it was the Arabian themed New Year's party. Coming from Newport Beach, we were shocked to see a girl doing pole dancing in her work out outfit when we walked upstairs. It feels a little odd especially with little kids around, having dinner with their parents. The belly dancers were okay but one is really young and the other looks more like her grand auntie. Our neighbors raved about this place but it was a little confusing for us, seeing the juggler, the bellly dancers, the girl on the pole dancing (she is not sleazy looking, actually a lovely Leelee Sobieski look alike. Was visiting Grapevine and my lovely friend chose Piaf for a Saturday night dinner. I was blown away by not only the food- which is absolutely delish, but also the ambience. Came here for a group party this weekend. This restaurant has a quaint seating area and a great party room in the back with separate access. Great venue for a small get together of 20 to 25 people. Food was Mediterranean style and well prepared. Our group had a selection of dishes and all of them were very well done. The charcuterie tray was my favorite as it had a nice variety of flavors and textures... different cheeses, salted nuts, fig jim, grapes, cold cooked meats, cheese crisp crackers, assorted olives. Went with a reservation on a Friday. Seated right away, great ambiance. Took 10-15 minutes for drinks and service was friendly but very sparse. Food and drink were very delayed. Refills were very minimal. Ordered an app-whipped ricotta, and it was in terrible need of salt, and a tiny portion. Literally a tablespoon of ricotta and 4 toast points. I had the chicken special, we also had scallops and shrimp, a burger, flatbread, and carpaccio. My chicken was rubbery, plated with cold potatoes in a liquid (not sauce) and had not one whiff of harissa. It was fine, just chicken, but also...just chicken. Risotto was tasty. It was a birthday dinner and requested bc of how special they made a friend feel the week before. A mocktail refill, great seating, candle for the slice of cake-and none of that was offered despite putting the info on the resy. To be clear-we weren't expecting a Chilis sing a long, but the same basic candle and seating would've made her night. A nice place for anything from date night to a group dinner in downtown Grapevine. The food entree highlights were the lamb shank and double cut pork chops. Of appetizers, the cauliflower and piquillo peppers were most enjoyed. The menu is varied enough that there is something for everyone. Alcohol choices are also varied - there are the usual cocktails and wine options but also there were also good beer choices. I tried both a local beer and a local cider and enjoyed both. My team came to Piaf for a private reception. The chef prepared a bounty of appetizers. The flatbreads(margarita & roast) and hummus were SCRUMPTIOUS. I ordered the filet mignon with crispy potatoes and creamed corn. I loved everything but I personally was not a fan of the creamed corn. For dessert, I had the salted caramel ice cream with a side of expresso. Parking can be found behind the restaurant and has a nice pathway to the restaurant that is very well lit. Overall the location, atmosphere, and food made this experience amazing. The atmosphere at Piaf is what makes it, and the food is pretty good. We had a party of 8 and they sat us in the back with a room that we had to ourselves. The table and the cutlery and everything was very nice. The arugula and beet salad was a bit dissapointing, as it was mostly goat cheese and not much else - it really overwhelmed the salad. However, the salmon was perfectly tender and crisp on the outside. Fries were good flavor. The service was pretty good, but one persons meal took a long time and it was clear once we asked that they forgot to bring it out. This is a swanky, chic design to the interior that reminiscent of some foreign hotels Ive been to when it comes to a "classy" but casual experience. The labor shortage here was in full effect, as the front hostess desk was also being managed by one of the two waiters available. There were times where my water glass stayed empty due to the infrequent checkups at the table. Im certain the manager was also the bartender and helping clear large tables as well. I feel for the industry right now and I hope this place can float by without shuddering. The calamari was actually the highlight of the meal. I normally dont get excited about it, but they did a damn good job with it! Crispy on the outside, soft with a delicate texture on the inside, with a slight seafood taste with plenty of oily goodness. The sauces they give you hit the spot. This place does it better than the majority of places Ive had in Dallas alone! The babaghanoush was mostly tahini and olive oil. You can barely taste the eggplant, especially if you are eating it with other stuff. I wonder if the hummus would have been the same, but otherwise, its decent for at least not feeling like snot (which sometimes the eggplant comes out as). The fig and prosciutto flatbread was what I expected topping wise. I see they repurposed their pita bread as pizza dough here. While Im not opposed to this, it does limit how amazing this flatbread can be. There wont be any sourdough funkiness or savory explosion you can find from house made dough. I felt there was a an even distribution of ingredients on the pizza, with no skimping from each particular item. Granted downtown grapevine probably has some expensive rental prices for their properties, but I feel this place is charging way more than it should. Im willing to look past that since the majority of the customers will be middle class boomers who want to have a fun night out while getting a different experience than the southern dives and bars. But if youre not local and youre out of town, dont expect michelin star quality in food. I will admit they do a good job with what they have. read more

Grapevine has been growing on Main St and has brought in new restaurants/stores. This is a fun spot with great decor. It's perfect for a nice date or in my case, a small group of friends. All of the food was delicious. The drinks were fun and unique. Pricing was fair and Luis was fantastic! He was attentive, fun and accommodating. The one "negative" I would say is the happy hour is only 4pm - 5:30pm. Oh, and did I mention they have a rooftop! Really great place. read more

We came here last night to check the place out and enjoy some Happy Hour time. The draft beer selections are few but good - $4 Stella Artois is a great price. All we had were beers, but we got to eyeball quite a few Happy Hour dishes coming out. The prices for those were especially good considering the portions and what appeared to be good quality. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and their time at Piaf. We sat on the upstairs deck, which offers a nice view and is good for watching sunsets. The deck was a little crowded; they could have probably used half the potted plants that were all over the seating areas. It was a little congested - I saw one lady with branches and flowers splayed across her lap from the neighboring plant - it looked like it was going for her wine! Our service was great and, unfortunately, the staff had to deal with some very high maintenance customers seated behind us. The servers kept smiling and kept up a very professional demeanor. I loved to find in the menu dishes from Spain or Greece. We order just dishes to share: the Octopus was great! Is on the grill with garlic and we'll seasoned, jumbo shrimps very juicy, stuffed piquillos(sweet mini bell peppers) and the beef carpaccio -was those covered with curry/chipotle ish sauce? Delicious! I recommend the jalapeño margarita, it has a nice kick to your senses and for wine go for any from Argentina, Terrazas Malbec is a good selection . We had dinner at Piaf as part of a Christmas outing with another couple yesterday evening. It was our second time there (but the first dining inside rather than on the patio) and the first time for the other couple. The place was absolutely beautiful, and the noise level was fairly low despite being busy. We started with the calamari, and it was the best we've ever had. The two sauces in particular were a big hit. I had the pork chop, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was also more than I could eat, despite having had only a light meal earlier in the day. The cocktails were innovative and delightful. The seasonal White Christmas and the Purple Haze were big hits with the wife and I. Alicia, our server, was charming, attentive, and knowledgeable, and I let the manager know this. I highly recommend her to anyone dining there. read more

We made reservations early in hopes of landing a coveted rooftop patio seat, which we did. Unfortunately, they gave us one by a giant curtain and a very loud party. The misting system dripped right on me too (full on raindrops, not mist), so it really wasn't the ideal spot on the patio. Probably my biggest issue is that not only was our server not masked, he got VERY close to us to be heard over the really loud table next to us, and this made me pretty uncomfortable. The food was quite good for the most part. I really enjoyed the grilled cauliflower (there was A TON of this, it was an entire cauliflower...so lots of leftovers) and the fig & prosciutto flatbread. Hubby's harissa lamburger was delightful, I stole a bite. The brussels sprouts however were just mediocre, I can make better ones at home, so I'd skip those next time. On to dessert - the rosewater infused creme brulee had me at "rose", and it was good, but honestly I didn't really detect a ton of rose. Hubby's flourless chocolate cake was rich and super tasty. We had some cocktails -- I had the pear martini, and it was ok, a bit too strong and not quite sweet enough for my liking but I should have specified I prefer them that way, I'm sure they would have loved to put more puree and less pricy booze in my drink. I can't remember what Hubby drank. I might try the peach mule next time. All in all, I'd probably wait to go back til the After COVID times due to the lax masking of the staff, but I would go back. read more

Beware ... if you want to eat upstairs you'll need a reservation. As a local resident it's disappointing that even during the week you're likely to need a reservation when it's not as busy. The bar upstairs is quite small and the downstairs bar is very dark ... sitting downstairs is not my ideal as I'd like a bit more lighting. The food is good but many items are similar to its sister restaurant Chez Fabian. It would be nice to see something new at both restaurants. Service is usually good. read more

So I REALLY wanted to like this place more. Had my eye on it for several days during my business stay in Grapevine. I felt like the menu was really inspired and sounded unique and delicious! I travel...a lot...domestically and internationally, and I appreciate quality ingredients executed well. Plus I'm willing to pay for and support restaurants that do it well. I appreciate the craft and work! Piaf really disappointed me. I was excited to try their maple bacon old fashioned [see picture], but I watched the youngish bartender girl pour Devil's River in the drink as she built it. When I called her on it, asking where the special "maple-washed George Remus (interesting!)" was, she said "oh, we'oure out." Result: a $14 mediocre old fashioned, with a piece of bacon in it. Strike one. Ordered the amazing-sounding octopus appetizer [photo] $14, with the Berkshire chops $36...both of which were 'signature' dishes, endorsed by my server. While I waited, the Malbec that I asked to come out with my main meal arrived while I still had my JV old-fashioned and no food in front of me. Huh? Strike two. Finally the food was really good but didn't wow me. The flavors were good, but plating was poor, and service was amateurish. Kind of a letdown for the pricing. I know this is Gucci Grapevine, TX but there's plenty of competition out there doing it better. Strike three. Hope you get it together Piaf. Focus on the fundamentals, and I'd love to come back.
