Amazing sandwiches but I feel like they can go a little heavier on the protein. Other then that they have great options

Piadina is located in Tustin Marketplace off of El Camino and East near some of the other small food shops. It's an area I typically avoid mostly because the parking lot always seems busy and filled with lots of cars. But, if you want to try something new, sometimes sacrifices must be made. Walking into the restaurant, you find a long counter with the staff making up sandwiches and salads. Once at the counter, there is a large overhead menu with a good selection of salads and sandwiches. I ordered up their most popular sandwich, the California. While waiting for my order, I noticed one of the workers taking dough and putting into a flatbread machine. The machine created a perfect round thin sandwich dough about the size of a large flour tortilla. Then she placed it on the grill and cooked it until it had a nice brown toasty color. I just knew the bread would be delicious. I picked up my order after hearing my name called. At first glance, I was a bit disappointed at the size of my order, found wrapped in a paper envelope. However, after I got back to the table and sat down, I took out the double stacked sandwich and found it was actually decent sized. The thin sandwich had lots of arugula lettuce, and mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was a delight to bite into with its thin crunchy bread shell, reminiscent of a flaky quesadilla. The only downside is the sandwich left me wanting more chicken and avocado. Overall Piadina was a great clean place to grab a quick meal and a slightly different kind od sandwich. read more

Like other reviews, the ingredients are fresh and high quality, but they just don't give you a lot of it. Kinda pricey for what you get, I think which wich next door might be a better deal, but this is a different sandwich. read more

Hella fucking good sandwiches wow they're actually surprisingly really different from your typical sandwiches. I don't expect much from sandwiches, but boy did these stand out, I really like the warmth and softness of the bread here idk what it is, I think it's a pita bread? Maybe. Idk but wow it's some of the best pita bread I've ever had anywhere. Usually if I ever get pita bread it's typically chewy and hard and a little bit tough. But here the pita bread is so perfect. It's soft and easy to bite off and has a good consistency to it. The inside of each sandwich is customizable so that's good too. Like Subway or some shit. And yeah it was all really good to me. Tastes amazing. A little on the expensive side for a sandwich though I gotta admit. It's like 9 bucks or some shit? Damn that's like the price of a Pieology Pizza. read more

Boy am I glad this app called yelp was invented!! I would have never found this place without it. Driving down the freeway I started to get hungry for a sandwich. Typed in sandwich that was closest to my location. This was one place that popped up and thank god it did. Seriously I have never had a sandwich like this before. Been here multiple times on my lunch break. By far my favorite is the Vegetariana because I love eggplant and you can add avocado for a small upcharge which makes it really filling and satisfying. One of my coworkers comes here as well on his lunch break sometimes and he and I agree the Vegetariana is better than the meat options because when I've gotten meat options some of the meat was warm and some was cold even though I ordered at the counter and sat outside to eat it immediately so it didn't have time to cool off. We both found the mixed temperature meats offputting but don't mind if our vegetables are mixed temperature. The employees are kind and the orders only take about ten minutes during non peak times so if you work nearby and mobile order it is usually ready when you arrive in my experience. On warm days the cold pellegrino is a nice compliment and I love the blood orange pellegrino flavor because it is light and refreshing. Overall not the most amazing food but relatively healthy compared to nearby options which is what garners piadina 4 stars instead of 3. Keep up the friendly service :) read more

Came here today for lunch. I got the California sandwich, which the gentleman who took my order told me was the most popular. It did not disappoint at all and I highly recommend. It was very tasty, and the pesto made provided the right flavor balance. It turns out they make all their bread, which I believe is a Italian flatbread style, from scratch, daily. I came with friends to this spot in the marketplace as there are many different dinning places here, so something for everyone. Parking was a breeze, I'm sure the marketplace was super busy during the day but at this time on the Sunday before Christmas Eve, it was empty. One other friend and I chose to eat here, and I'm glad I ddI! I ordered the California-#8. It was chicken, tomato, pesto, mozzarella and magic. These Piadinas remind me of Italian quesadillas. The bread is folded over like a flat bread and crisped up. It was super delicious. There is ample seating at this place for a quick serve, and much more outside to handle the lunch rush I'm assuming. First time here! We had a coupon for a buy 1 get 1 and it was expiring so we decided to give it a try. We were pleasently surprised with how good it was! We ordered 2 sandwiches: The Roma and The Italiano. They both came with Mozzarella cheese but we asked to substitute their other type of cheese on the Roma. Honestly both cheese tasted pretty similar. But they were both good. The sandwiches came out fast and were warm and fresh! I don't know what type of bread they use but it's amazing! Reminded me of a really good thin crust pizza but baked just right so the outside was a light crispy and the inside was fluffy! My husband liked the veggie more but I preferred the Roma. I liked the thinly sliced meat and veggie combination. But they were both good. If you prefer more of a 'greener' tasting sandwich, I recommend the veggie. Will definitely be back! Let me just start with WOW! I just tried Piadina for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I was looking on Yelp for lunch ideas and came across this gem. So glad I gave it a try. It was delicious I had the Reggio sandwich which had Prosciutto, parmigiano-riggiano, mozzarella, mushrooms, arugula, tomatoes, tartar and Tabasco sauce which gave it a nice little kick. My family and I came here for lunch one weekend. Everybody really loved their food. Some however get a little too salty because of the meat, but ehh it's still good! We will be coming back! Also pro tip: use the yelp check in!!! It's either a side soup or salad. That day, the soup was minestrone. We all liked the minestrone better and it comes with a side of the bread. It just hit all the right places. So glad it opened here at the marketplace! Only downside is that it didn't really fill us up for ~$10 each. No we didn't eat the whole thing in one sitting. I always came here with a coupon so in my opinion its worth it with a coupon. The quality of the ingredients are fresh and their pesto is soo good. The bread or whatever it is called is always tasty. I ordered the sandwich with pesto, arugula, and prosciutto and its always on point. I don't feel like a slug afterwards which i usually do after a sandwich. Ok. I'm going to say that after coming here two times, I won't be coming again, but that's not because this place is bad. I like the food here and I like how clean and bright the dining area is. The location is great and there's abundant outdoor seating. I wish I could say I'd come back again and again, but both times I've come, I've had "issues" almost immediately after. I have suspicions that it's due to the excessive amount of oil they drizzle into the sandwiches, but even then, I shouldn't be having such problems within 1 hour of eating here. Also, be aware that the sandwiches are not heavy and they might even be "bland" to people who are used to more sauced/fried/salted food. I like light and simple so the chicken and turkey and fresh bread/wrap were all refreshing. The bread they use is thin and crisp. If I were to try to describe it, I'd say it has the lightness and crisp/flaky nature of a croissant but the integrity of a thick (think German) style pancake or crepe. It's not, as others have put it, like a freaking quesadilla. The meats are clean and not salty. The vegetables are fresh and bright. The pesto is also light in flavor but a bit oily. Service has been....decent. The cashiers have been friendly during my limited two visits but the people who call our your order when it's ready are less than personable. No, I don't need you to treat me like a friend but at least try to treat me like a human being. Anywho, yeah. Great place and I wish I didn't have such a bad reaction to the food, but so many people like this place so I'm giving 4 stars because my main issue with the food is clearly an isolated event. Cute little place for a quick bite. This is not your typical sandwich shop because the "bread" is replaced with a flatbread-like skin. I enjoy this place because everything tastes and looks very fresh. Traditional Italian cuisine really cherishes the original flavors of the ingredients, and I find that Piadina does just that. Some may find it a little on the bland side, but it makes you appreciate how natural and fresh your food is. I enjoyed everything I've tried there so far, but the Genova stood out to me the most. Their basil pesto brings it all together, and the turkey was very good. Highly recommended! The service there was great too.
