I called to make an appointment for laser tattoo removal around 4pm yesterday. I had 4 previous treatments by them but I haven't been consistent with going the past couple of years. It's pricey and it hurts. Anyway, I was quoted a price by the gal (Anna) that made the appointment. I understand that prices for things have gone up, I was ok with that and provided my card for the deposit. I asked what the best numbing cream was that I could buy to numb myself up before the appointment, she said that the laser tech would call me. This morning Katarina the laser technician called, she said that it was going to be over $300 MORE than what I was told the afternoon before. I was shocked, I asked about the multiple tattoo discount, she said she wasn't sure and she put me on hold for over 5 minutes. I hung up and decided to call back and just cancel. Anna answered the phone and I asked her about the massive difference in cost- she claimed that she didn't recall speaking with me the afternoon prior- Yeah, right. Selective amnesia. So, by this point I just told her to cancel my appointment. She needs to have her head checked. Katarina called back and gave me another quote with the "discount", still well over $200 what I was quoted the afternoon before. They were not apologetic at all. Poor customer service. The energy upon entrance is electric, immediately was given the impression that this establishment was at the top of the game. I signed my forms, which was super fast being that all my pre paperwork was done via the patient portal electronically when I made my appointment. I was very quickly taken back to the treatment area by Chris B, who I immediately connected to!! Her energy was positive and she was very informative throughout my procedure, letting me know that she was seeing immediate positive results! Have been coming here for a good while once a month, some times twice - have always paid $280 for my tatt removal apts. (Mind you - im well into the 10k range for this tatt removal of the ex's name) Out of no where today was told todays apt was $336. This place is great and spamming non stop to your emails and texts of apt reminders but no one has ever provided me with any update of the price change. The ladies pointed to a little tiny 4x6 sign that sits on the counter next to all of their advertisments of services they offer. Really? I dont mind the price change moving fwd but you would think they would have some kind of common courtesy to include this "as of Oct. 1st price change" idea of theirs into the non stop spam emails / texts.. it was hard to leave this review as i have been biting my tongue with reviews as i have had another sour taste run in with their billing lady.. in the end, the front desk girl i was dealing with called the billing lady and then told me i will pay the 280 today and there will be a remaining balance on my account for next time to make up the difference of todays charge of $336.. i said no thats not how this is going to go. I am going to pay the 280 today and there will be no remaining balance for todays apt on my account and i will have that in writing from your office. I do also have it all on voice recording for my records. She called the billing lady and the billing lady told her to run my card for the 280 and moving fwd my new amount to pay will be the $336. Horrible service and incompetent front office staff at Phoenix Skin! I purchased three sessions of laser facials at Phx Skin, and when I had to reschedule my second and third appointments, their extremely limited availability pushed me out a full three weeks. Not to mention, when I asked the front office admin to get me scheduled for the third appointment, she asked for my credit card info to make a $50 deposit. I was on a work break and did not have my wallet readily available, so I asked if they could use the card and file. She said there was no way they could do that. Mind you, if you miss an appointment, they do have a way to use that card on file to charge you for a no-show. Also, when I asked them how I might have been scheduled for all three, and now that I needed to reschedule, they couldn't do it until I gave my card information again. She responded, "Sorry, I have to ask for your card again for the deposit, or else I can't reschedule you." This annoyance for their patients is unnecessary, and the unfriendly demeanor of the office administrator who acts like she is doing you a favor by answering the phone is off-putting and lousy customer service. Unfortunately, I will have to do my two remaining treatments there since I paid for them in advance, but I will never be returning here for future services. read more

I consulted the practice to get rid of my pores. I was advised by the doctor and the esthetician that 3 sessions of microneedling with PRP will take care of the problem completely and give me the baby skin I was looking for. After paying $1200 for the 3 treatments, wasting 9 days of my social life( my face was so read after each treatment for 3 days, I couldn't go out), few blood vials, my skin barely changed. I understand that results with this treatment may take time so I waited over a month after the last treatment and absolutely saw no improvement. I was so disappointed and called the spa manager to discuss it. She just argued that my skin looks amazing now, results can't be guaranteed and I probably need more sessions to get results. I feel deceived and mislead to believe 3 sessions will give me the results I wanted. If I knew it entails another 3 sessions and another $1200 , I would have never started it. To make the matter worse, the manager promised to call me later in the afternoon after she talks to the doctor and see when she can schedule me for another consultation, it's been 2 weeks now since I spoke with her and I never received a call neither a follow up from this place. They should be transparent and upfront about expectations and not mislead people to do expensive treatments that may or may not work.The only positive about this place was the esthetician "Kimberly ", she may not have given me the results I was hoping for , but she is an extremely nice and friendly lady. I did a review about a week ago. One of the more experienced Doctors, Dr Larus if im not mistaken, reached out to me by phone. He wanted to reach out for a second consultation since i felt like all my questions werent answered. Partly my fault for not speaking up at the time that i was still unclear on what the treatment plan is to achieve the results i wanted. Im glad Dr Larus called me for a second consultation. He explained things and used examples in a way that i understood. He gave me a clear treatment plan that tells me the treatments i will be getting? The time frame between each treatment and the overall timeframe for the final results, as well as pricing. He gave me realistic expectations. He went into detail about which treatment and what products will target what. I cant explain how thankful i am that he took his time with me and gave me reassurance that im not stuck with the hyperpigmentation on my neck area. Im so happy to know that it can be corrected. For those of you with ethnic dark skin, you might be able to relate to my problem. I have pcos which causes me to have grow hair excessively on my neck and chin area. As i got older it turned into severe ingrown hairs. I started tweezing which in turn created these dark marks on my neck. From a distance you might think i have a full blown beard. I struggles this for a long time. I became really self conscious about it and started to wear makeup to cover it, but even through the makeup it was still a little noticeable due to the uneven skin texture. When seeking skin treatment it was very important to me that the person treating me have strong knowledge in ethnic/ african american skin. Im now confident Phoenix Skin Spa can help my situation. This review is long over due.. I have been going here for over a year now and while my skin has cleared up thanks to their treatment, I've had nonstop problems with their staff. 1) I have never been seen on time. I used to arrive early for my appt and still had to wait while other people were seen even though I took the first fine slot. I don't bother waking up extra early anymore and arrive just at the time I'm scheduled for since I know I'm going to have to wait anyways. I did speak to the front desk lady about this and all she said was that I'd have to speak to the tech about it 2) They ALWAYS inform me of a change last minute. Once I had an Appt set, even got the text reminder they send out, showed up and was told they weren't seeing anyone because they didn't have a tech available. So I woke up hrs early before work, drove the opposite side of town just to be told that. They claimed they called me but never did and again I got the reminder text 3)The managers there are nonchalant. I have had to call multiple times and when I do speak to them, they never do anything about it. It doesn't even sound like I'm talking to a manager 4)I now schedule my appts a whole month in advance and I specifically asked to have a different tech because ever since my old one no longer works there, the one I have now rushed through it . I pay a good amount of money and it's a big let down when the tech rushes through. Francesca was her name. She rushed through my appt, didn't even speak to me and once I came out from the light room, she was walking back in with a coffee from Dutch. So I guess my appt wasn't worth her taking her time so she can get some coffee. I spoke to a rep about this and they said they'd assign me someone else, well once again LAST minute they tell me they have to move my time to later because Francesca is the only one available at the time I originally had. I thought this was some BS because I specifically told them a MONTH in advance I do NOT want her plus I can't move my time until later because of work. I had a consultation which resulted in me buying one of their products "firm and fade". Once I took this home and used in on my skin I noticed a foul smell coming from the product. The following week I returned to Phoenix Skin and told them about the bad smell and that I could not tolerate it and use it. I did not have the receipt but instead I was able to show them the debit card transaction from my bank. They refused to return my money or exchange it for a different product. The manager did not come out and speak directly to me but advised the techs that unless I had an allergic reaction AND that one of their doctors could examine- The product was not refundable. They removed my stitches way too early and now I have huge hole on my chest. I can't wear any cute tops because it looks disgusting and I don't feel or look good. I'm so upset with this place. When I came in to get my stitches removed, the nurse was very hesitant to remove them because the cut was still VERY tender. She took a picture and asked the doctor if she should remove them instead of the doctor just coming in and checking it tthemselves to be 100% sure. Overall, upsetting. read more

The facility is nice but what really made this a great experience was the aesthetician that did my treatment. Her name is Caitlynn - she was knowledgeable, thoughtful, engaging and just an all around a kind individual.
