My dress now fits beautifully, and I feel so much more confident wearing it. Great workmanship, friendly service, and attention to detail--exactly what you want when trusting someone with an important dress. A plus is that value of the alternations was perfect. I highly recommend G&J Alterations if you need alterations for a special occasion. I'm so glad I found them!

Went here to have some patches sewn on my leather vest. This was one of the only places in the area…read morethat I found that could do the work. It was about two weeks to have them sewn on and while they did ask me if it was ok to sew through the liner, they did sew through the liner and pockets rendering the inner left pocket unusable. I don't really use the pockets except maybe to put my phone in, but I would have thought that they wouldn't have done that. All in all I had 4 patches sewn on for $80. As you can see, one got sewn right through the inside pocket. I would have like to have been asked about that, but hindsight being 20/20, I guess if I need any more sewn, I'll let them know. This business seems to do a lot of alterations for wedding dresses, so I'm guessing not a lot of bikers are hitting them up to sew their cuts. Just be aware if that's something you need.

I was in a bit of a pinch because my long throw pillow's case was in need of a cleaning and it was not washer/dryer safe like I had assumed. I should have done a review for Ali's so much sooner, apologies to this fine establishment. My…read morewedding was in October of 2022 and in July of that year I went to Ali's to ensure my dress (which I bought online) was fitted the way it should be. I knew very little about how a gown should fit and what could be done to ensure there was no tripping over my own train, but was looking forward to talking to someone who knew what they were doing. I found Ali's right here on yelp and was impressed with the reviews. I messaged the business asking a few questions and Lana got back to me in under 2 hours. Very quick. I was put at ease with the responses (as well as the timeliness of their response) and set up an appointment. This was done by filling out an appointment form and again receiving a quick response where we verified a day/time that would work. During the initial appointment the seamstress I met with had me put on my dress and basically told me that it was fitted as well as it could have been already... it was hugging all the right spots and there were no glaring issues (lucky me!). The only thing I really needed, then, was to have the train bustled (meaning able to be pinned up) so that I could walk and dance and not have myself or others tripping on my dress. While bustling the dress would probably take the pro's at Ali's all of 20-30 minutes, they are a busy and professional place that ensures each customer is given the time and attention they deserve from the business, so every step of working with Ali's is scheduled. I handed over the extra button that came with the dress, and the seamstress set up a day and time for me to come pick it up again after the alteration was made. The work may have been minor, but it was impeccable. They ensured a small button held up several layers of very long and heavy fabric. I was very pleased with the work they did, the timeliness of their responses, and the attention they gave to a relatively small project. Thanks Ali. :) I will return for future alteration needs.

Judee did…read morephenomenal work on my gown and I could not have been happier - she's a true artist with a sewing needle!!! The bridal shop or designer had sized it incorrectly or the gown was marked wrong and it needed to be let out a little. The trick was the extensive hand beading and intricate detail work throughout the entire bodice. It also had a chapel train made of tulle and I wasn't thrilled with doing a bustle. Judee suggested cutting the train off and making the entire gown one length and that's what we did. I got so many compliments on my gown - how well it fit, how beautiful it is and also everyone actually loved that I didn't have a train - bustling it would not have enhanced the gown in any way and actually would have have detracted from it. I wish I could show how much work Judee needed to do to remove the train and make the gown all one length as well as hemming it to the proper length. This gown must have had a dozen layers! I've included a close up of the gown and then a full length of it on me (p.s. the hem doesn't look even in the photo but that was either the way I was standing or it came up - it was even). I've also been to Judee to have a bridesmaid gown altered as well as many cocktail dresses. She does fabulous work on everything and is so great to work with! Judee is so friendly, easy going and accomodating! I'm not tall, have a short waist and fairly large bust/shoulders so I pretty much have needed alterations my entire life. Judee is by far one of the best I've been to and she is also very reasonably priced for the magic she does. I'm sure if I had had the alterations done at the bridal shop, it would have cost a LOT more!
