This was a place nearby so I decided to try it out with my roommate. The overall was pretty okay...Their pho does take a but longer than other places to come out.. we were the only customers there so idk why that happened but it wasn't too bad! We were just super hungry at the moment and couldn't understand the delay. They also ran out of green bean sprouts when we went...which was disappointing :( My roommate is vegitarian so she really liked the vegi broth/egg broth that they had. I came here on the recommendation from my friend who insist that they have the best broth they have ever tasted. So I have hit this joint up twice. On the first go, I went there to get their wonton and bbq pork noodle soup because I always consider it a treat when it shows up on a pho house's menu. I would say that the broth is decent. The wonton okay and so is the bbq pork. I wish the wonton was a pork and shrimp combo like a lot of the other shops that offer them. In addition, the bbq pork was thinly sliced. Some may like it like that. Me on the other hand... I like it thick like my women. Overall though, the dish was still great. On the second go, I had the pho tai bo vein ( rare meat with the pork balls). It was good. Th broth came out hot and delicious. So no complaints at all with it. The shop looks to be family owned. Nice people there. Overall good experience. I don't recommend showing up for lunch if you are on the clock at work. Got take out seafood pho to-go. Average all around. The broth was steaming hot but just not enough flavor. I actually had to add a dash of salt and pepper, a pho first for me. The seafood bits were tender and delicious, although a few more pieces would have made me more impressed. The garnishes were adequate, and plenty of them, however the hoisin sauce mixed with sriracha was a skimpy size, and I would've appreciated another little container of sambal too. While I waited for my take-out, I decided to try a iced milk coffee. I ordered it in a to-go cup, and when it arrived, I noticed there was about an inch of space between the ice and the lid. I felt kind of jipped. When I tried to jab my straw thru the top, it couldn't break thru the ice there was so much of it. My beverage was gone in about 2 or 3 sips. I was pretty disappointed by this. The inside of the restaurant looks clean, although boring, basic at best. There is a television but other than that no decor. Even with the uninspired ambiance, there are lots of tables, and some pleasant natural light shining in during the day. If you come here, order the Hu Thieu Ap Chao... crispy.... make sure it is crispy... extra crispy if they will do it. Specifically number AC70. These are pan fried flat noodles in a sauce with perfectly wokked veggies, beef, chicken and seafood. I have had this dish better at only one place (Austin) and I have been scouring the state searching for Hu Thieu Ap Chao everywhere I go. This is as close as I have been. Pho expert here. This place has very flavorful broth, and that is the only good thing. The broth is not steaming hot, so adding veggies will make it lukewarm. Meat was thinly sliced and came in sparse amount making the dish overpriced. Side veggies are missing coriander. What a shame of a pho place for having some of the best broth around. read more

Stopped in to grab some veggie pho to go and was surprised by how good it was. Service was ok. I was a little annoyed at first that the one waitress wanted to ring up everybody in the store before even placing my order, but bad timing I guess. Also, wasn't aware the menu prices are not accurate-once payment time came, then it was explained that everything was $1.00 more. Still wasn't pleased that a veggie pho without tofu was near $9.00. @ lunch time. However, once I opened it all up, I found a healthy helping of fresh veggies, noodles, and the broth was quite tasty, so no complaints. I've had several of their dishes by now. I can vouch for their pho. Very authentic and delicious! Their rice plates are the bomb! So flavorful! Spring rolls are fresh! My favorites are pho, special noodle bowl #63 or the #59 and then the beef rice plates. SO GOOD!!! Depending on which spring rolls you get, it can be included with fish sauce or peanut sauce. I prefer the peanut sauce for my spring rolls. Their pho is so good! Exactly like how my mom makes at home! Service is always great. Friendly, which is rare at Asian establishments. :-) read more

As someone who eats out Vietnamese cuisine pretty much every chance they get, Pho Yen Phi has both quality and affordability going for it! I ordered eggrolls, the special combo flat noodles, and combination pho. Broth is a bit salty, but still delicious (tip: add lime if too salty). The noodles were very well seasoned and almost caramelized, which I always look out for in my noodle dishes. Eggrolls were scrumptious! A must-have appetizer. I think this is the only Vietnamese in Coppell, and it's pretty good! The flavors are rich, a lot of beefy flavor in the broth. They have a spicy version of Pho which is listed as being off the menu. . . But yet is on the menu. Anyway, it's quite good. Downsides: they don't offer size options for the Pho and other soups. The size is equivalent to a regular or a small at most places, so for me it isn't quite enough food on its own. (I usually get a medium or a large). As a restaurant owner, and a person who worked in food industry for decades, I understand mistake happenes, and it can't be measure to judge about the business entity. But, when employee made a mistake and blame a customer, and yell in public, customer must do something to let owner of the business can correct the matter. A vietnamese girl working as a cashier showed an example today. She took an order wrong, and wouldn't accept a mistake, but blaming others in loud voice so everyone in store can be part of this humiliating process. When customer suggested her to calm down and try to listen, she answered "whatever". If Owner of this business read this, please, do something. One bad employee can damage your monthly sales up to $4000. Trust me. read more

Great lunch spot I like to visit to get an authentic banh Mi grilled pork sandwich. It comes with pickled carrots in them which add great flavor. I like to get the crispy spring rolls as well which I believe is a shrimp/pork combo (not to big of a fan of the fish sauce it comes with though). Tried this place a couple times, and didn't love it. The first time i tried to explain (what as i know now as the vermicelli veggie dish). I ended up with pho soup. The soup was fine, wasn't great and definitely not what I asked for when I said the cold noodle and veggie salad. When I tried it the second time I ordered the vermicelli veggie dish. I had it before and it was excellent! Here - It was 3/4 vermicelli noodles which are bland, and the veggies were lettuce, sprouts, etc. Veggies with no flavor, so generally the entire dish tasted mostly like water. I poured the sauce over it, and in the past i remember all these flavors of lemon, mint, and a fantastic blend. This was more of a peanut oil. It wasn't awful, the food was okay, but I wouldn't come back a third time after being disappointed twice. read more

Prices are pretty standard for a Vietnamese restaurant so is the decor. A little sad they stopped delivery, but they are conveniently located so driving over to pickup to go orders is easy. After visiting the doctor for a sore throat a few days ago, I decided Pho was on the list for something to eat and did a quick search of the area to see what my options were. That said, I landed up at Pho Yen Phi. So the place was quiet when I first entered, with no other guests around. I was quickly greeted and sat. The kind waiter was very helpful and patient with my loss of voice, and I quickly had my food ordered and being prepared. After that service was very unobtrusive, with my table only being visited to drop off the food. As for the Pho, for getting the large order it seemed like a normal size for most other Pho joints. I was quickly out of noodles and meat, and the accompaniments seemed a bit sparse compared to most other places. The lack of Cilantro and only one lime wedge was a bit disappointing. The broth was also a bit on the weaker side, though a bit of hoisin sauce and sriracha helped fixed that, and once these sauces had settled in made the broth quite enjoyable. That said, the shining part of the dish here was the meat. It was super tender, cut perfectly thin, and really made the dish wonderful. Overall I contemplated a three star, but the pacient service and the great protein pushed me over to a four star for the joint. Overall I'm willing to give it a second try at some point to see if it holds up to some of my regular stops. read more
