I like to also add fish sauce. Of course, with any pho place, you get the standard sriracha, hoison, sliced pepper, basil/mint leaves, and mung bean sprouts. They always give good portions and you really get bang for your buck! Everytime I come here, they never skimp out on meat and I always come back for more. My wife and I wanted to give this place a try, heard good things about the Pho Oxtail. We normally go to Pho Holic but the last time we were there, the broth was too sweet. Yes it's a thing, some recipes calls for a little sugar in the broth. There was no wait at all, which was nice. We hate having to wait for food and Pho Holic is usually a zoo. I don't pay any attention to ambiance or how nice the wait staff is at ethnic restaurants. It's not what I am paying for. The space is nice and bright and the tables are not crowded together. We both ordered the oxtail pho, small size. The portions are fine. It came with a plate, knife and fork which allowed me to whittle it down a bit before using my hand to pick up the bone. This was a good idea. Pro tip: make yourself a dipping sauce of fish sauce, a squeeze of lemon or lime and chili paste (ớt bằm) for the meat. It adds another dimension of flavor. The broth was good. The only odd thing is the condiment plate only had basil, no culantro (ngò gai). Both are served traditionally. At $12 a bowl, it's a very good deal. Parking is plentiful. Cash only! read more

I've been here for lunch on a Christmas day. I ordered the medium chicken pho. It costed about $10 but I think the price was alright for what I was getting. I also ordered veggie spring rolls for $8 which I don't think was worth it. Pho tasted great and chicken as well as broth tasted fresh. Spring rolls tasted generic. Service was decent as they brought out the condiments and tea in a quick and efficient manner. So actually meant to go to another pho shop but the wait was long and I've never had to wait for a seat for pho, so we left. Pho vie was only a three minute drive from where we were, so we headed to this place instead. Tons of free parking in the plaza. No outdoor seating. Inside is very spacious and airy, the tables are not squished and packed back to back. There were only a few tables occupied with diners, so we were seated immediately. Drastic contrast to the other pho place we stopped at. The two ladies and man working here are extremely sweet and courteous. They seemed to care for their customers and made sure everyone had what they needed. This place is definitely not fancy, no bells and whistles- just a very simple pho place. The pho soup was good, the pho noodles are not chewy to my liking but still delicious. Ordered pho tai with a side of Bo vien (you get 8 cut up quarters) and veggie stir fried noodles. Ordered the large bowl and the portion size is very generous. The pho tai was $10 for regular size and $12 for the large size. Prices are still amazing, mostly unheard of with inflation now a days. I was surprised seeing $10 for a regular bowl. You can get Kobe beef pho for $13/$15. Glad we chose this spot, would definitely come back regularly! Cash only. The opening hours are very extended. Saturday lunch, about half full. Came here with a friend and honestly I had very low expectations. This place ended up being pretty good. Ordered a pho and a grilled pork with broken rice. Pho was on par with a lot of other place in the area. Soup had a great beefy deep flavor, beef was sliced thin and satisfying. Grilled pork came fishy 2 fried eggs, rice, pickles and soup, great value. Pork was seasoned well and the whole dish was very good. Would recommend if you are unsure where to eat. My mom and I ate here yesterday after a long trip to LA. We were pretty tired so we just wanted anything to eat. I had pho with Kobe beef and beef tripes. Genuine Kobe beef is supposed to be tender but so-called Kobe beef pieces in my pho bowl were so dry and not fresh at all. Now here comes the "best" part. My mom ordered bo kho/beef stew. When it's served, the bowl is literally ÔI THIU aka spoiled/rotten. How come no one in the restaurant realized it's spoiled before having the audacity to serve it? She then exchanged for pho with beef tripes. When I paid, they still included my mom's pho. If they actually knew better, shouldn't they exclude it as a courtesy for serving my mom spoiled food?!? It's hard to mess up pho imho, so I have nothing unusually amazing to report. But it is reliable, tasty,consistent, and of course, great value. Staff is friendly, and I consistently come on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 145pm, after dropping off my kid at parkour down the street, and always leave satisfied. I usually get the rare steak, or rare steak + beef ball noodle soup, and a take out of the dry pho with beef, and accompany it with either a salty plum soda or iced Vietnamese coffee. Went here with a friend to get bo ne together. We went around 7 and they're supposed to be open until 9 but it was empty and the server told us they were out of a lot of items already, like we wanted to eat bread with our bo ne but they ran out so we got rice instead. It wasn't bad-- the rice tasted a bit weird but covering it in sauce makes it fine. I been coming here to eat for the last couple of years and I always ordered their Bo ne. After today I don't think I will be back here at this dirty and poor establishment! First of all I was extremely disappointed with their terrible service today. When they delivered the food to the table it was not properly cooked! When telling them they had the audacity to tell me that's how they cook it. It's obvious I should know how it's properly cook when I order it all the time. This is our go to place when we have a craving for pho but either too busy or lazy to make it at home:). We live in Long Beach and would make the drive... We come here both for lunch and dinner and the portion and taste are always consistent. This is important because at other pho restaurants, sometimes when we come early, the broth tases off because it has not been simmer enough. Other times. When we get there later in the day, the broth seem watery as if they just add more water when they have a busy day... (I know because I make good pho to entertain friends and family:). Sometimes you get enough meat. Other times they seem to "cut back" on a busy day. Not at pho vie. We always leave satisfied:). I see lots of negative feedbacks on their service. It's not that the waitstaffs are rude or the owners don't appreciate your business. Most of the times, they have staffs with limited English. Also, in our reserved culture, it's rude to come by and "disturb" patrons in the middle of a meal. So take that into consideration! Come for portions, consistency, tastes. We were there yesterday for Pho and Bun Bo Hue. There was a slug crawling in my vegetable complement dish (rau). I brought it up to the waiter and asked for another plate. He didn't acknowledge what I was saying. He came back with another plate but didn't bother to take away the old plate. Excuse me, I pointed to the slug and told him again. It's your usual pho spot where not much service is going on, but that's fine by me because the food was much better than I expected. We normally go to a different place but tried this one today. Well, I don't know what place some of the reviewers went to but it couldn't be this place. Walking in at least half the tables were dirty, covered with plates, food etc from previous customers. No one was bussing the tables. The staff wasn't exactly rude, definitely not happy or personable. They took forever to come to our table. They went to other tables to help people who came in way after us. No one spoke English so it was a little tough to ask any questions. Our food took quite sometime to come out. So, the eggrolls were pretty standard, they were good. We had lemongrass beef bun. The portion was decent but The meat was sliced pretty thin so it was dry and chewy. The vermicelli was dry and sticky meaning it was obviously pre done and sitting around much like cold spaghetti noodles. We had The beef soup and the broth was flavorful and the meat was tender but the tendon, intestine whatever it was, was in large like 3-4" pieces and wide and was impossible to chew. When we were done they didn't give us a bill, matter of fact we couldn't find anyone to help us. Everyone disappeared. Then one lady came out with a bowl of pho and had her lunch while I just stood at the register. By the way it's cash only and the sign was hanging by the register was folded over so we didn't know it was cash only. Wonder how much they make off the atm machine nearby. The lady eating finally yelled for someone to come out so we could pay. Needless to say not coming back and will stick to Pho 54 on Brookhurst. read more

Gross. I came here for a quick fix and it was definitely a mistake. If you want good pho, you need to venture deeper into the heart of Little Saigon (Pho 79 off Hazard is a good one). I ordered the Pho Tai Nam Gan. While the meat was decently portioned for the price, the broth was disgusting and overly salty. It had no flavor to it. Even adding the condiments (hoisin sauce) made little difference. There wasn't any lemon/lime in my togo bag. I had also ordered my noodles to be pre-cooked, since when you get something to go - even if you live minutes away - the broth will cool down and won't be hot enough to cook any noodles. The noodles were far from soft. Not even al dente. Just firm. Seriously, this place left a lot to be desired. I guess that's why its on the "outskirts" of Little Saigon. It caters to those who have never tasted authentic Vietnamese food before. If you think the pho here is awesome, you'll probably think the pho at Pho 79 (a favorite) to be like ambrosia. I went here today, and was super glad i did. My friend and i stopped in on our way to the beach and had a great meal at a fab price. For the both of us, it was only 21 bucks!!
