Picked up my order thinking it will be quick in and out but instead the young lady took my payment and didn't say anything and went to take 2 other customers picking up their food payment. I'm Asian American I wanted to try something new, so I had special rice cake and from the description, it wasn't what I was expecting. Another time I ordered beef pan fried noodles. Once again, not what I was expecting , but it was ok. Maybe put a photo on the menu in the restaurant instead of in parentheses "acquired taste, no refunds " and have the waiters know what's in the dish and how it's cooked when asked. I have been to this place numerous times and spent so much money. This particular time the waiter repeated my order back to me and still brought out incorrect food. I ordered pho with no onion or cilantro and she brought out onion and cilantro in the pho. she then comes back with the exact same bowl they just scraped out the cilantro and onion and some was still floating in the broth. Then she comes back after they just put more broth in the same bowl. After explaining to them I want a fresh bowl not just more broth added to the same one, they bring me a "new" bowl and there is hair in it. So I showed them the hair and they told me that they are not remaking the order because they had to "fix it too many times" because of their own mishaps. I'm a little disappointed in my meal this time. I get the grilled pork vermicelli bowl with extra fish sauce. The pork was very fatty this time and there seemed to be less of it. Pork is cheap, please don't give me mostly fat. There were only about 3 peanuts in the dish. Sad. And the pictures on their website all show the dish with an egg roll, so I was disappointed to find I didn't get an egg roll. Also, very little lettuce in the dish. The crawfish I tried here was not the best. The staff was nice and friendly. I actually liked their egg rolls. I believe they put taro in their egg roll which if I'm right I'm a fan. My sister n law's mother adds taro in her egg rolls and I love them. The ap chao do bien is really different they cut it up in Pieces which actually makes it easier to eat LOL it was good but not mhmmmmmmm this is so good, good. Overall the food isn't the best Viet food, but overall it's ok. Nothing stood out besides the taro in the eggroll, which of course is personal preference. read more

Got chicken pho for carry out. Feeling under the weather so nothing like some soup. It was good, the broth itself did lack in some flavor but definitely not terrible. Not the best but not terrible. Excellent Pho that is consistently good and fresh. The vegetables that go in it are clean and crisp and the beef broth is always on point. Most of their food is the same. Their smoothies are OK but nothing special. The only thing I'd complain about are the portions. One entree is often not enough for the typical fluffy American, so I'd recommend an appetizer. read more

Went here for a quick lunch in the middle of workday and was thoroughly pleased. They had my food ready for pick up within 20 minutes and I love the price for the quality and quantity. I ordered the grilled pork vermicelli with egg roll, which cost ~$7-8 with tax. They certainly don't skimp on the meat! Vegetables were fresh and I was given plenty of sauce to go with the noodles. I've definitely had less for more $ at other Vietnamese restaurants in Houston, and was really surprised to find such an excellent place in the outskirts. I have eaten here several times with relatives and friends. The food is very good. I have had various meals from pho soup, boiled crawfish, eggrolls and spring rolls and yes, sandwiches. I specifically asked if there was Mono sodium glutamate in the pho, so that I can continue looking for an all natural spot; they assured me there wasn't. MSG causes headaches and heart flutters and I can clearly tell this pho had a TON of MSG in it. To be clear MSG can make a dog turd taste great and can cause stroke and heart disease ling-term (bad stuff). Latinos know it as KNORR and is made in chemical plants. Never going back! i have had this several times now and the Beef Pho broth is one of the best I have ever had. I have been to many vietnamese places in the Houston area and was skeptical coming in to this little out of the way place. I have now returned many times. The quality has been consistent. I have also had the chicken Pho. They have another winner with this one. The borth is rich and flavorful. On numerous occassions we have also ordered the stir fried seafood with crispy rice noodles. Never failed to please with that dish. I believe the sauce base is the same if you order it with chicken. The noodles are unusual in that it seems to be flat wide style noodle that is rolled up and sliced, into disks. These disks are then lightly fried and have a lightly crispy outside and a soft chewy inside. I have started ordering double the amount of noodles. There is a $3 charge for that and well worth it to us. We are now frequent visitors to this place. The restaurant is clean and the service is rapid. read more

Came here for a late lunch. I wasn't greeted upon entering, but I quickly figured out this is a seat-yourself kind of place. And after not being acknowledged by staff, it became a grab-your-own-menu kind of place for me as well. And just as I began to think that maybe this is an order-at-the-register kind of place, I was able to flag down a passing waiter and order. I got the grilled pork vermicelli with an egg roll. The pork was good and the vermicelli bowl was on point. The egg roll was the most bizarre and awful egg roll I've ever had. A crisp, flaky crust (so far so good), gives way to a strange paste with a mashed potato consistency (what? why?... just, why?). Not sure what it was made of, but in addition to the unusual texture inside the egg roll, it tasted awful. I was in shock. Can it really be this bad? I took a second bite only to confirm. Then I ripped the rest of the egg roll apart just to see what was inside it. I've got no clue what this paste is. Despite this, I may stop back in this place if I'm in the area, just won't order the egg roll. I wanted to give this place 4 stars, but the lack of service pushed it to 3.
