Phenomenal Pho & Service! A Must-Try! I was in town for a quick 3-day work trip and I loved The Boiling Pho so much I ended up eating lunch here twice! That should tell you everything you need to know. Seriously, the food was amazing from start to finish. I went straight for the Combination Pho, and it truly was a 10 out of 10 experience. The broth was rich and savory, the meat was tender, and everything was perfectly fresh. Don't skip the appetizers, either--the Crab Rangoons were delicious and perfectly crispy. On top of the incredible food, the wait staff was quick and attentive. Even when the restaurant was busy, they kept things moving without rushing you. Brought my son, his Vietnamese wife and her mother and there 2 kids to try this place that I Iove. Service is always great. I did not take pictures of everything we ordered. I absolutely love the grilled pork fried rice and grilled pork spring rolls. Kids are picky eaters but one chowed down on the fried rice and the other ate two spring rolls. I love pho! I spent a summer once trying all the pho spots I could find! This place was not bad, the sizes were a bit smaller than what I'm used to. What's cool is that they offer to put more noodles in your bowl for a little extra. Though, when we tried that the waiter just pushed us to size up. No big deal. Supposed to get 4 meats with my phó. It was big and in your face on the menu "PICK 4 MEATS". Well I didn't want the raw steak so I opted for a x2 on the meat balls. This review is specifically about their pho as I was seriously craving it this Sunday. Luckily for me, I caught their BOGO free pho deal on the last day of their grand opening week. Coming here alone though, I was disappointed they wouldn't let me immediately take the 2nd bowl of pho home to go. I was forced to order it dine in and pack it in a to go container myself, the biggest problem with this is that the noodles become soggy and mushy quickly when it's already mixed with the meat and broth. I was already planning on eating my bowl there dine in, but it would have been impossible to finish 2 large bowls in 1 sitting. I just wish they were nice enough to pack the 2nd bowl separately so it would stay fresh for later. But besides that, Boiling Pho makes solid pho. Considering the places in Friendswood/East Pearland, this might be the best in this area? I was really pleased with how GENEROUS they are with their noodle and meat servings. The noodles seemed endless in my bowl, and they gave a hefty portion of all the meats I chose. A large bowl is about $9 with tax, you choose your broth (beef, chicken, or vegetable), then choose your meats (eye round steak, well done flank, fatty brisket, meatball, filet mignon (+$7.49), soft tendon, chicken, or tripe). The broth had good flavor and wasn't overly fatty, as well as no MSG. I did wish the broth was a tad sweeter and had a little more star anise, but that's just me being picky about my pho. Overall it was a 7/10 strictly talking about their pho only. I'll definitely come back again soon to try the rest of their menu! An absolute joke of an establishment. Some of the worst service I've ever received. The waiter spilled hoisin all over my new shoes and jeans and said "it's okay" and freaking walked off... no apology, no discount, no wet towel. Nothing. Then after I return from the restroom to clean my clothes he hands me the bill(awkward timing). The restaurant it's self is disgusting, the floors are sticky, the glass tables have smudges all over them, the doors are too gross to touch. There's 5 TV's with 3 different programs playing, in addition to the music. Overall super awkward atmosphere. They sit everyone directly next to each other until a certain section gets full- so you're staring at the person at another table as you watch 3 different shows. In addition to the waiter being an absolute klutz, I saw him stroke his beard several times in between tables and try and fish out food from his teeth. Slowest pho place ever. Order small pho well done flank and tendon. Chose beef broth but I got chicken. Trust me I know the different btw beef and chicken broth.... every asian kid had their mama's pho and let me tell you that ain't beef broth. The flavor was not bad honestly, and the amount of noodles and meat they give you for a small is good. Shaking beef: it's not great but not bad either. Beef is tender with a citrus flavor of the lime. A little stingy on beef. This dish came out before the pho....which I find weird cause pho should come out quicker than any other dish at a pho place. There's not too many great pho places in the Pearland area, so I'm glad this place finally had their grand opening! I've tried the pho here on three separate occasions, and each bowl was consistently good and flavorful. The broth is perfectly made! They also give large portions of meats and noodles, which is always a plus. Overall, my experiences here have been pretty positive. The food is great, and the service is fast and pleasant. My first visit, I had the combination LoMein and Vietnamese Eggrolls. Because I couldn't decide on the LoMein or the Bahn Mi. The LoMein was delicious! It was packed full of vegetables and big pieces of beef, shrimp and chicken, enough for 2 meals! The eggrolls...cooked perfectly, the side vegetables were fresh, the only thing missing was the mint leaves (not sure if that is a traditional thing or something that I was served at another Vietnamese restaurant but it goes perfectly with a lettuce leaf & hot eggroll dipped in fish sauce). Everything was delicious so I went back for the Bahn Mi. I got the BBQ pork Bahn Mi and it did not disappoint! I love getting Bahn Mi's at the Asian market so this was comparable. You can pick between beef, chicken, or veggie broth. Then choose your meat selection. I was impressed with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Most restaurants give me overly cooked chicken pieces, but not here. Generous portion of noodles, meat, and broth! The broth was amazing! Very flavorful and authentic. I did not use any hoisin sauce because the seasoning was on point. They offer other Vietnamese dishes here so don't think you're limited to just eating pho. The customer service was good. Food is terrible. Husband ordered wonton soup, chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings, shaking beef. Wonton soup has no flavor, it's like they took a can of chicken broth, poured it in a Togo container sliced up of steamed chicken breast with some nasty supposedly wonton (it's doesn't even taste like wonton) and put it together and there is a meal. It's disgusting. My daughter had two bites of the chicken fried rice and she won't eat it anymore. Steamed dumplings is trash. Shaking beef is kind of edible. New Vietnamese restaurant that replaced the former one at this location. The menu offerings, interior decoration and layout is identical. The service was a lot better than what it was in the past. They have a robust vegetarian section which was awesome. They also offer XL bowls of pho (it is massive for a reasonable price too). The pho chay (vegetarian) was one of the best I've had. Went for dinner with my husband and kids, and unfortunately won't be going back. First impressions? The place is dirty. If the brown splatters on the wall beside our table and the audibly sticky floors are considered acceptable to management, I worry about the state of the kitchen. Like another reviewer mentioned, they started us with some nice warm cans of soda. If you're going to go this route, you should at least keep them cold. Disappointing. Our kids each got a bowl of pho, and both ate the meat and refused to eat anything else. After trying the broth I understood why. It tasted like heavily diluted beef broth. No discernable aromatics, severely underseasoned... bad. Without a doubt the worst pho I have ever had. My husband and I had the beef vermicelli, which was good. The beef spring rolls were as well. I can honestly say it was the most disappointing pho I have every had :/ The place was fairly stingy with their condiments and didn't even provide BASIL. The pho lacked in traditional taste, and I'm wondering how that could be when it's the most basic yet rich meal in Vietnamese cuisine. My partner ordered the Generam Tso, and the Vietnamese egg rolls. The Chicken on the Tso felt old in taste and consistency and the Vietnamese egg rolls had a lot of excess oil. I ordered 3 small pho and I got 1/2 container broth each order compared to a full container when I ordered from other stores. When I asked for extra broth I was charged $4+ for the full container. I agreed to pay the extra cuz the pho noodle is supposed to be swimming in broth, not barely soaked.
