Remton is only like 2 minutes from my home and I've only heard wonderful things about it…read more I've been long overdue to check it out so I stopped by for dinner yesterday evening and ordered from their HRW menu. I also planned to order things I either had never tried before or that I rarely eat. Every single course gave me everything I needed. First course: chawanmushi. A deliciously savory egg custard dish with shrimp, chicken and mushrooms. From looking at it you're not sure if your going to like it but WOW! The custard itself was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the shrimp and chicken made it more than just an egg custard and the mushroom...idk what kind of mushroom it was but it kinda tasted like a flavorful meatball and was SO delicious. SECOND COURSE: Tuna tartare - an award winning chef must craft these dishes because the flavor profiles of the food and way they put different ingredients together that you wouldn't expect is nothing short of culinary wizardry. The tuna with the mango with the cucumber and onions and everything was incredible fresh. Impeccable. Third course: Beef curry. Absolutely amazing! The beef was super tender, the curry had a light hint of Coconut, everything was seasoned to perfection and there wasn't a single grain of jasmine rice that was undercooked. The carrots in the curry were perfectly cooked. Dessert: mango sticky rice. The rice perfectly cooked. The mango was perfectly sliced and super fresh and the sauce, I'm guessing it wasa condensed milk and sugar mixture. It was delicious and comforting. Basically a delicious mango rice pudding after pouring the sauce on it. Artistry: The food was all plated and presented to me beautifully. It was nothing less than edible art and they clearly put care and heart into not just the taste but the look of the food. Parking is plentiful, service is top tier and the ambience is lovely, well decorated and clean. I'll definitely be back. They also had plenty of variety for every diet. Even keto which can be difficult with Asian restaurants due to all the rice.

Bot chien was a pleasant surprise! I like the way they did it, and it kept me well full. Very generous with egg. Pho broth wasn't crazily oily, which is great. Perfect seasoning and sodium level. I would eat the pho here again. Banh xeo was HUGE. It was delicious and the greens they provided with were abundant. Service was great and attentive. The server was very respectful and made sure to do the accommodations I requested (no cilantro). Now for the cons. The pork bun was too dry. Bun Bo hue was actually so incorrect. The seasoning and broth were not right. No hints of lemongrass anywhere. It's like they created their own recipe and called it bun bo hue. The good thing about this restaurant is that there's something for everyone in terms of Asian cuisine. I'm glad I got to try samples of everyone's dish to get a feel of how they run things in the kitchen. Some things need serious improvement while others were excellent; and that's okay. 4/5. I genuinely want to see this place succeed. My honest suggestion would be to slow down a little, pay closer attention to the details, and show a little more care in what's being served and how the customer experiences it. Our waiter took our drink order and came back with the menus. Around 8:25 another young man comes out and says they are not taking any orders for any grilled items; ie the banh mi sandwiches, grilled plates, grilled fresh rolls etc., My dad leaves to go get a sandwich elsewhere while my mom and I stay back for the pho. At 8:30 our order is placed. 1 chicken pho, veg pho no tofu, and some fried and soft springs rolls. The pho comes out within minutes around 8:35/8:40. Followed by the rolls. The veg pho has no mushrooms, I asked about it and they said the order was for no mushrooms which I clarified it was no tofu (also printed on our receipt) I asked our waiter for some mushrooms and I'm told no as the kitchen is now closed. The closing hours are listed as 9pm daily. It's 8:40 and there are 8 other people still eating around us. If you're shutting down at 8:30, it would be nice to know that you're shutting the kitchen down at 8:30 when we walked in at 8:15pm and not after the fact when you come to ask me if everything is okay and I tell you it's not but you can't fix it because your "kitchen is closed." The one star is split heavily on the side to be able to leave a review and partially for the original server who sat us and, while forgetful and unable to do much else, had the decency to look mortified and apologize every time his counter part came out to tell us no/kitchen is closed/etc. also, the other guy came out at 8:45 and asked me to close out the check. Bruh. My pho is still piping hot. Thanks for making me feel rushed and uncomfortable. OH and when we asked for our to go boxes, I also asked for some of those small dipping sauce containers, I pack everything up and we literally clean the table for them and this third guy with a heavy accent come out to tell me "next time you can't take the sauces to go you will be charged extra!" Like SERIOUSLY?! I just dropped $66 bucks to be rushed out in under 40 minutes while you got my order wrong and didn't even have half the menu item available and you're telling me I can't take the sauces home with me that are a part of my order?! Can't even make this ish up. Will have to look for another pho place locally that does veg broth and soft veg rolls for my mother, honestly one of the only reasons why we come here, so anyone reading this - if yall know any recs for a veg broth pho place locally, please let us know!

We walked in a more laid back time with not many people and seated ourselves. There were a few items on the menu I had to mentally translate since I'm familiar with the names of the dishes when I eat in Chinatown-Little Saigon. I decided to go with the Vietnamese coffee and rock and roll beef also known as Vietnamese shaking beef. I did make an adjustment and did fried rice and an egg on top. The Vietnamese coffee is solid. It has that flavor and concentration you expect especially phin filter with condensed milk. The rock and roll beef is a good choice too. The steak cubes are tender and has the nice accompaniment of onions, tomatoes and cucumber. The sauce packed that nice garlic punch which the steak absorb. The fried rice is a nice upgrade from regular white rice but both would be good choices. Overall it was a nice visit to Pho Hoang. It was very straightforward and our server was nice too. No complaints. From my personal experience of drinking Vietnamese coffee for years, I think my tolerance is much stronger to it and found this one today as concentrated but not as bold like I am used too. But this is still very good. There are some staple dishes offered and seen also include a fried fish platter and a few other additions. The other saving grace was the broth of the beef pho. It was just right...perfect flavoring. Unfortunately, the flank steak was obviously old and dried out and contained unappetizing pieces of gristle and fat. The spring rolls were almost inedible, due to shrimps that were well past their freshness and a wrap that just fell apart. The grilled pork bahn me was the worst. It was not served on the traditional French roll but a bolillo that was just grainy and flavorless. I regret having to report that, after decades of enjoying Vietnamese cuisine, this experience was, well, the most unfortunate of all.

This location is definitely not the most busy, with my family being one of the only ones in restaurant during a weekday dinner. The atmosphere is nice and relatively new, with plenty of windows for natural light. Their menu font was the first thing I noticed being distracted by. Being in a very thin and tall font and on one massive page instead of back and front, I found it all really distracting and hard to focus. The food was overall really good, though not what I am typically used to. The egg rolls we got were alright, though I wish that they used lettuce and mints instead of red cabbage on the side (which doesn't really fit with the dish). The Cornish Hen I got with the rice was really nice and the chicken was nice and tender. But the Bun Bo Hue was definitely my favorite of what we got.
