The pho broth was pretty good and the flavor was nice. The meat was okay, I've had better brisket / shank, but the beef balls were good. Not a huge fan of leaving the head of the bean sprout on but that's personal preference. Overall, nothing super mind blowing but if you are craving pho it gets the job done. Service was fast and prompt. Went on a weekday morning and it was us and another customer. Inside was clean and cozy. Would come again if I was in the area and wanted pho.

I am not usually around this area of town and rerouted my trip to try Pho Valley out after checking out Falling Waters. PV is a mom and pop owned location that makes a great Pork chop rice dish and yummy Vietnamese Coffee. The menu had enough variety to choose from and It was better than going to any fast food plus owner was extremely polite.

When walking in you can tell it's a family own business. You see their family photos post along the wall. The owner was very nice and came to take our order. We order quite a few things. Nothing came out first. We waited 30mins for all the food to come out at the same time. And we were starving so it seems so long. However the food was all outstanding!!! We got the combo pho and the broth was probably the best we've had in the Pittsburgh area. Rich and flavorful! I like the black pepper that's added in! The Banh mi was great too! Just portioned correctly and the bread was soft and crispy! We got the rice plate with pork and a egg. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and super flavorful! I also ordered the combo fried rice and it was good! Not to saucey or oily!

This family owned Vietnamese restaurant is one of handsome husband and I's favorite places to grab food for date night. They have a simple menu that is oh so delicious. I usually stick with the Bun Thit Nuong -- it's so good that it never gets old. I want to buy a big bottle of whatever they marinade the beef in. Make sure to add the egg roll onto your B-11 order. The crisp along with the crunch of the fresh veggies perfectly matches the softness if vermicelli noodles and the richness of the beef and shrimp. The banh mi sandwich is also a winner in the menu. The portion sizes are generous. I'm always more than full. Customer service is speedy. The owner is very friendly and is never too busy to personally greet his customers. This past Tuesday, he even threw in a free Thai tea with my order. Let's support local! We all gotta eat! Let's keep take out orders coming their way during these difficult times.

My friend told me about this little gem down on Route 88 and I had been looking forward to trying it. The spring rolls are perfect. Fresh, tasty and all the right ingredients. Then, the shrimp pho came. Everything tasted just right. Lots of shrimp. I was informed they used healthy green bean sprouts. Big fan! Got the house fried Rice for dinner.

If I could give a 3.5, I would. The place is a "4 star", in my opinion. However, there are some things that I have issues with, that would warrant me giving a "3 star"--but I am not doing so at this time because of the positives that we experienced. Will update accordingly next time we try it, and see if we receive the same issues that I will discuss. With our first time here, we can agree with the other reviews that the owner is very friendly, kind, and is willing to discuss the menu with anyone who has questions. For drinks, their thai tea was awesome, and trying the basil seed drink was interesting. The Basil Seed Drink had little seed-bubble things going on in a banana-honey type flavored drink...very interesting. Really liked them both. For appetizers, we tried the egg rolls and the fresh spring rolls. I was a bit unimpressed with the egg rolls, but, was "wow'd" by the fresh spring rolls. This was the first place that I have had them where they included a slice of bbq pork inside. They were huge, and delicious! Absolutely loved the peanut sauce that came with them. For dinners, we tried the chicken fried rice and their home made Pho. The chicken fried rice was good, but I was not overly impressed. While I think it was good, I do not believe it warranted the price charged for it. The Pho was good, with regards to the broth. I was a little thrown off by the beef that came with it, as it had A LOT of fat/gristle. I did not like the meatballs that came with it at all. They were very rubbery, and extremely suspicious. If I got this again, I would more than likely ask that they be left out. Overall, it was good...but I do not think the prices charged are commensurate with what should be charged for what you're getting. We do want to return, and try some of the other items, though. I will update accordingly.

I cannot say enough great things about Pho Valley. We go at least once a week. The owner is very kind and always provides great conversation if time permits. We typically get the Pho Valley Soup. It's absolutely delicious, the flavor is so rich and deep and it absolutely warms you up every time you eat it. It's fantastic for take out too if you don't have time to sit and eat it. I prefer dining in, it's a quiet little restaurant and there is just something special about eating there. I can't forget to mention the Thai Tea, so good, I could drink it by the gallon! Next time you're in the Mon Valley area i absolutely recommend stopping by!

    Bun Thit Nuong.

Seeing a Vietnamese roadside diner on Rt. 88 south of Pittsburgh was enough of a surprise that I had to stop. When I walked in, the place was very clean and very empty except for the owner's daughter quietly eating dinner in the corner booth. Then the customers began arriving. The four or five customers who came and went each had compliments for the owner. This spoke volumes. They weren't just happy that Pho Valley was there... they sounded downright grateful. There is a covered outdoor seating area, which I wish I'd seen first -- it was a beautiful early evening and the restaurant backs onto an undulating golf course. Next time I go, I'll take an after-dinner walk along the golf cart paths. I haven't mentioned the food. The more thorough reviews here get it right, so I'll just add that the food struck me as not just fresh, but *clean*. I'd done a favor for my body by eating there. The food has to be good, because the restaurant isn't fancy enough to distract from any other deficiencies. And good it is. My favorite part was the sweet, thin sauce poured over the Bun Thit Nuong noodle salad. That, and the spring roll with peanut sauce. As I packed up my leftovers, I listened to the owner discuss with another customer why he uses one type of cucumber over another in his dishes. There's some obvious thought and care here. Monongahela got lucky when this restaurant arrived. Don't let this place go out of business, folks. ALSO: Check out the handwritten signs in the restroom. They're charming and on point. I won't say anything more -- it would be a spoiler. :D

We ordered takeout this time, and the overall experience was great. We placed an order online, and everything was very neatly packaged and ready to go when expected. The food even travelled fairly well, such that it was still in good shape after traveling home. The restaurant itself is in a bit of a drab strip mall, but it's generally nicely decorated with colorful signage and a nicely kept interior. In terms of the food, the shrimp spinach dumplings were really nicely done, with lots of flavor and texture. My partner especially enjoyed the barbecue pork bao, which were nicely steamed with a very flavorful filling. The egg tart was good, but not really my thing. It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum. Sometimes I find that food quality suffers a little by the time it gets home but that was not the case here. Their service is quick both when you are dining in and for takeout. The staff is really nice and helpful in providing recommendations.
