First time trying this restaurant, and honestly, first time trying Vietnamese food in general. Came here with a group on a friend's suggestion, and I was so happy with everything. I had the #57, Com Bo Nuong. Basically, a sweet BBQ chicken with steamed rice. Absolutely delicious. Also had probably the best egg roll I've ever had in my life. The restaurant itself had a rather large dining room for a "hole in the wall" type of restaurant (instead of its own building like a Chiles or something else, is all I mean by that). It was clean, tidy, and I really liked the vibes. It's clearly a well loved community restaurant. The people working at the restaurant were really kind and quick. I can't wait to come back. I really wish I had taken a photo of my food to add to this review since I'm being prompted for that, but there are some pictures of the dish online. 10/10 on every metric. Really enjoyed dinner tonight with friends. read more

We went here after a hike to try the summer rolls aka fresh rolls. Everything was so fresh and delicious and we got it so quick. The one thing I didn't care for was the sauces that came with it. I felt the sauces where too light compared to the other vietnamese restaurants or how I make it. read more

This is some of the best pho I've had in the valley. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall kind of place, definitely pretty run down. Despite this, it is almost always busy. It's pretty hard to get staff's attention, so you need to be ready to order when they come to your table the first time, because it'll be hard to get them to come back. Food is great, prices are good, parking is easy. I love the pho here and plan to be back. read more

I haven't been here in awhile and I remember it being great so I took my bf here for his birthday earlier this week. It was so delicious we came back again today! The service is concise and friendly. The woman working does everything in there! The table has a lot of sauces and accoutrement to mix up flavors in your food which is fun. The food comes fast and is so hot and fresh. They give you large full plates of fresh herbs and sprouts as soon as you order. We got the spring rolls and banh xeo which is a crispy fried crepe filled with pork, shrimp and vegetables. It's absolutely amazing and I wish I could eat it everyday. We got 2 types of pho, mine had sliced sirloin which was tender and flavorful and my bf got the seafood pho which had a ton of squid and shrimp. The portions are massive and they don't shy on the noodles at all. I can't finish a bowl in one sitting. We also ordered jasmine iced tea which was floral and fresh and they give you a HUGE refill pitcher of it! The value is incredible. We had all that food for under 60$ and had plenty to take home. They have Togo containers and bags up front so you can help yourself, which I love.. I cannot wait to come back again and try more of the menu! read more

Food is good but we were treated so poorly when we came on Saturday that I really never want to come back. The main person taking orders got our order wrong. We asked for a 4A he took it as item 40 even after he repeated 4A. He then proceeds to take it out on us after he took it wrong. After being clearly irritated about the mix up that he himself caused. We asked for extra mayo in one Ban Mi. It came with it but we asked for some extra to add on and the person came over as if to kind of say 'there is extra on it already why are you even asking'. Now that wasn't verbally said but that was inferred based on how the person acted and I think he's the owner at that. They brought water refills around once before the order mix up. After he would walk by our table to go bring water to new tables just sitting down but for us we had clearly irritated him. Again on his own mess up. Even tried to ask for to go containers and got a "its over there". Noted you don't want people to come back. We won't. Again I could understand if we were being unreasonable but he took down the wrong order and then made it seem like it was our fault and we were unwelcome. The cart they bring the food out on was also filthy. Won't be back because that was uncalled for. read more

The food was so good for the price. $13 for the bowl on the bottom (#1 on the menu) and the top bowl (A-2) was a X-Large bowl for $15. Spring rolls was 2 for $4, they were yummy too! Would recommend read more

I'm almost ashamed of myself for not sharing this restaurant sooner!!! I have found this place to be the #1 Vietnamese food in Mesa!! I've been eating Vietnamese food since the early 90s lol and this the the most authentic, tasty, fresh and super flavorful place in Mesa! Literally the fish sauce is good enough to swim in and the BBQ pork is sweet, grilled perfection, savory and HIGHLY addictive (#69) Most definitely add on the Vietnamese version of egg rolls (#49) served with the freshest fish sauce, green leaf or romaine leaves, with a sprig or two of freshly cut mint!!! Yummo!!!! Their shrimp rice paper rolls with peanut sauce are divine!!! You may have to wait a bit for your food, but trust me, it's so totally worth it! They have a sweets/desserts refrigerator that you can help yourself to and baked goods that quickly run out of stock! I treat myself when I go here and I'm sure to order extra fish sauce or a bowl of jasmine rice!! Enjoy!! read more

4.5/5 for com tam. Comparable to the popular "com tam Thien Huong" in San Jose but the grilled pork was quite dry. Otherwise, everything else pork skin/meatloaf/fried egg/broken rice/fish sauce were all made on point and authentic even better than com tam Thien Huong. I was hooked and came back the next day for more. :) Updated: below are bun bo Hue and Hu tieu Nam Vang. These are ok only. 4/5. read more

Went with my husband and our little one, for some pho to heal us after a long weekend. The pho hit the spot for me, my husband thought it was a bit on the sweet side for him, but a little lime juice, and hoisin helped. We also got the spring rolls, not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. The pork and imperial roll bun was the highlight for me though, all the elements came together nicely, I couldn't stop eating it. The portions were fair for the price. But the real star of this place is the lovely man running it, he was so kind to us and was giving our little one extra attention. We really appreciated that, made us feel like we were apart of the family. read more

Either totally ignorant or total disregard for timing of online order My guess is they misread the time for the order and prepared the food hours early, realised their mistake and decided to just stick it in the fridge. Why waste money making fresh batch at the correct time right? My food arrived on time but very evident that its been stored in refrigerator for hours! Food items that were supposed to be hot or at least warm were cold Would you care to try cold rice noodles or cold dry rice with cold bbq pork? Oh...Cold fried egg rolls too Go to Pho Thuan Thanh It's their specialty read more

The attitude so mean. We're take a seat and want to order, and an employee talk back to us with annoying voice like "one moment lemme put it down the water first", I never seen that kind of service before in any restaurant. No wonder why the rate only 4.0. Never walk in again. read more

With the weather cooling off in the desert, I longed for a big bowl of hot pho. Pho Thuån Thånh is a no-frills restaurant that serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The menu was extensive, but I narrowed it down to a large bowl of pho with sliced beef and a broken rice plate served with a wide assortment of meats and a fried egg. After eating all this delicious food, I finished it with a refreshing cup of ché. This meal could not have been any better. The pho was comforting, and the side of vegetables was very fresh. This was precisely what I wanted. I'm already looking forward to returning to try other items on their menu. read more

The customer service sucks. We got full off our bowls but it took forever to take our order. I am displeased as the ratings seemed high

The server who was serving on November 14th, 2025 at 12:00pm was rude and dismissive. Tried making a rude joke and said that I have to wait 30 mins now to input my order. Left and didn't look back. Fix your customer service. read more

As I pulled up to this location I could see it was definitely a restaurant to take lots of friends or family too. There are lots of seats and tables so don't worry about a long wait! The ladies at the front were also so nice and welcoming, and we were able to sit where we wanted. After looking at the large menu and it's many features, I realized, this place must be very authentic! I would have tried other options, but this night in particular, I was definitely craving pho, so I tried the sliced beef pho. I always have to get a side of spring rolls too! The pho was pretty delicious, I enjoyed the broth and flavor. The portion was good as well, and I always add in the extra veggies on the side. The spring rolls were exactly how I like them, super fresh and chewy! I would definitely come here again but try something new, as I can tell this restaurant has many great and authentic items to choose from! read more

Disgustingly dirty place, I wish I had paid attention before ordering. Unfortunately my food was brought out soon after I realized. Picked up an order of Banh Xeo (#70) and Bun Bo Xao (#34) . The Good: - Banh Xeo was really crispy even though it was takeout. It was decently stuffed with bean sprouts, meat, and shrimp. The Okay: - The Banh Xeo batter lacked flavor and was really thin. Could maybe use more coconut milk. - Lettuce and Herbs lacked freshness and flavor - Fish Sauce was more on the salty side but felt lacking in the fish flavor The Great: - The Bun Bo Xao was flavorful had the right amount of spice and the meat was tender. read more

This place is known as "the Dirty Place". I've been there a few times, and yes it's always filthy inside. The food comes quick but the service sucks. Husband and I were looking for a new spot for good Vietnamese food since some of our other places near by were closed on Mondays. We were quickly pulled out our phones to find a new place to try. Found this whole in the wall pho thuan Thanh and I'm glad we gave it a try! Food was delicious. I got the com tam dish and my husband got the banh mi thit nuong and a bowl of pho. Which is all 3 items we got were all good. The servers were older looking couple and were super nice. Very attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. Food came out fast too. We will definitely come back! Also, most Vietnamese places we've gone to, are always open at 11am. Sometimes we're looking for a place around 9-10am. Well, this place opened at 9:30-8:30pm. It's perfect. read more

Hidden gem in Mesa, not far from MCC. I don't know why I have never hear about this place before. I stopped by because I saw photos of steamed bun on Yelp. I used to be able to get them in uptown Phoenix, but since I moved I could not find them close by. Unfortunately they did not have buns when I went on the weekend lunch, but I got my second favorite rice porridge with pork organs. All organs including blood are clean, delicious, and not chewy. The thinly slide ginger and green scallions are the best compliment to this hot bowl of rice porridge. Vietnamese pancake banh xeo is also very tasty. I love to enjoy it with a big bag of veggies they provided. I will definitely go back when I am in the area to try other dishes. They have a huge menu of variety of noodle and rice dishes. read more

We've been dining here for years and this place is always solid and never disappoints. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming. The food is always on point! This time I had the Combination Rice Plate and it was so delicious! Its presentation was beautiful and I enjoyed all the delicious savory flavors from each meat on the plate. We also had Bun Bo Hue and the Vietnamese Sandwich; all of which were delicious as usual. I think this place is the best place for Vietnamese food that I have found in a very long time period. If you know about Da Vang in Phoenix then this is the East Side version. Because it is in the Da Vang family and has the same recipes, it may be nostalgia but I think this is one of my favorite restaurants for Vietnamese food because of the homestyle flavor. If you know anything about Asian food in general, the taste in decor or the interior of the restaurant does not have to appeal to the eye for the food to be good. This hole-in-the-wall is a prime example, so don't let the tacky set-up ward you off. My favorite rice dish is Com Tam Bi Cha Thit Nuong. On this visit, it was excellent. The egg loaf and the shredded pork can tend to be dry and old at a lot of places, but here it was fresh and moist. The bbq pork was marinated just right- juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly, not burnt. I don't think I've had a better dish of the Com Tam Bi Cha Thit Nuong in recent years. When I do not order a rice dish, I order the pho. The pho is not oily or too salty in my opinion. You can't go wrong with their noodle soups. The bo kho is also pretty tasty with the tomato and anise and other spices jumping all over my taste buds. Even the wonton soup with egg noodles is a crowd-pleaser. The bahn mi? Yep, I like these here too. Simple yet delicious. Overall everything tastes good. Compared to other Viet spots where you have to pick and choose because only certain menu items are decent. Needless to say, I am never disppointed when I go here. The portions are generous and probably end up taking some home. Speaking of left-overs... It may be a positive or negative depending how you look at it but they have a self-serve to-go / leftover container shelf accessible for your convenience. read more

This was honestly the best pho I've had in a long time. I'm staying in AZ for the week and was craving something soup-y, pho, ramen, etc., and landed here. Everything was fresh. They give you a good amount of noodles. The broth had flavor, but also allowed you to add in your sirracha, hoisin, and other sauces to your liking giving it a nice blend. The regular size was perfect. They have a larger size, but I was totally happy with the amount of food provided.
