They are very generous with their meat, and service is amazing, they always have about 3/4 people running the floor so you're always going to have your needs met right away. I have been a regular here since they opened and I'm not sure what is going on. The food and drink quality has really gone downhill. My last 4 weeks of going here the pho has been pretty bad. Even the color is different. It's bland and the noodles are poor quality. The plate of greens are not fresh and I even had to ask for a new one two weeks ago because the basil was literally rotting. The place has been much less crowded too which may reflect that I am not the only one who has been disappointed lately. I keep hoping they will fix their problems but I'm losing hope. read more

Stopped by my local hands down favorite pho spot in the valley, I used to go to the one in van Nuys right next to the 99 ranch. It's been hot, but I have been craving some pho. Today I got the pho with the rare steak only with a side of fried egg rolls. I love how the people are so friendly, it's some of the original people that worked at the one in Van Nuys and they're always so kind to their customers. The food has amazing consistency and the food always comes out quick. I love the new restaurant and the vibe of it because it can accommodate so many people and there's TVs in there too to watch some of the sports games that are on. Pho!! If you didn't grow up eating this then you are missing out. I grew up in reseda so eating Vietnamese was a staple. I live in the east side of the valley now so sometimes I don't get to drive all the way to reseda. Luckily there's pho so 1 in Granda Hills and let me tell you it goes not disappoint. The portions are huge and the flavor of the pho is amazing. We got the #1 and the #13 and they are both very tasty. The servers here are super friendly and always so attentive. Stumbled upon this location by accident. I've been to others in the valley but didn't know there was another location added to the list. With this location, there's plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall. It's pretty big inside. Decor wise, it's a bit more modern compared to other's locations. When we walked in, we were greeted right away. Plenty of tables. And their very attentive. Literally sat down, water was brought out and was asked if we were ready. Didn't even looked at the menu. That happened a few times. Pho, of course didn't take long to come out. Give it take 2 min or so. Broth was nice which is always a plus. Had the pho with flank steak, brisket. Number 8 I believe. It was good which is a plus. We also had the the beef stew with the baguette. Compared to others, it was juts ok. There was loads of fat which was a downfall. I have been coming here since it opened a few years ago. It's located in a convenient place and the food is ok when you eat it there. The issue is with taking out. My sister and myself have ordered multiple times food to go and most of the time they get it wrong. Last time they got my order wrong (I ordered online because they refused to help me over he phone) they got my order wrong and when I called to complain the girl that answered the phone told me I needed to take the food back. Mind you I ordered the food for lunch for my parents on a rainy day and I called once I got off work around 5:30pm. It was ridiculous just the thought of taking back the food at that time and it was still raining. The manager Vivian finally agreed to give me a refund just for the pho's that were wrong, one week later and no refund has been done. Don't waste your time. I wanted to try Pho, I've never had it and this was the closest to me. Parking is great there's a lot, I walked in and no one was up at the front, but they had a sheet to write down your name and how many in your party. I went to write down and someone came from the back and asked how many in my party and I let her know I was interested in taking it to go and she took me over to the register to order. I let her know I had never tried it before and what she recommended and she said #11. I asked about ingredients, pointed to the spring rolls and she explained what they were. For what I ordered the price was so good! After I placed my order she let me know it would be about 5-10 minutes and I sat on a bench they had near the front. Within 3 minutes she called to let me know my order was ready, and asked if I needed utensils. When I got home with my meal I was really impressed with how it was packaged and how much food/garnishes it came with! It was such a great first experience, the restaurant was bigger than I expected inside but very calm. We love Pho So 1 so we decided to support this new location tonight. We usually go to the one in Reseda. This place is bright and clean, friendly staff and of course quick service. There's plenty of parking so that's also a plus. We just ordered few of our favorites since it was already getting late. We got their pork chop, beef and tendon pho and their crispy egg rolls. For comparison, it's a little more expensive here but larger portion. The wrap that they used for the egg rolls were also thinner I think. My husband didn't finish his soup when he normally could. Stopped in yesterday for dinner with a fairly large group and they were ok allowing the kids sit at their own table... not the most efficient on their part but we totally appreciated them allowing us to occupy to large tables rather than making squeeze onto one! This is my wife's favorite Pho spot in the area near her work and she often orders take out to bring home, but my first time eating in. Your experience may vary and I'm far from being a Pho expert (tbh pho is far from being my go to choice, but every so often I do crave it). The pho broth is good... but since you generally add seasoning to it, you can usually cater it to your liking anyway. My wife got pho and ordered their egg rolls (which are really good and good portion size) but this time I ordered the pork chop and egg over rice plus their version of yangchow fried rice. The pork chop was great and honestly I wish I had just ordered only pork chop with rice since the portion would be larger and didn't bother with the egg. I always enjoy every visit here, and I consider this location much better than the one closer to my home--the one that opened up recently on Zelzah and Chatsworth. Today in particular, the kind young lady Ny, took our order and was very patient and attentive. I usually order a lot of onions to eat along with my Pho, and I feel bad constantly asking for so much. But Ny was very understanding and brought two large plates without a single fuss! Truly appreciated her warm kindness. It's thanks to service like that that I'm a regular! I cannot believe this is the first time I've walked in to PHO SO 1, the neighborhood pho restaurant. It is large inside, despite what the front looks like. PHO SO 1 is in a large center that also houses a movie theater, a Ralphs, a Panera, a CVS and a bunch of other business. This center is large with a large parking lot that is never full, by some miracle. For some absurd reason, though, the streets bordering this center, Devonshire and Balboa, has been undergoing construction in the past several months. They've dug up the street, filled it back up, dug even more stuff up, and a whole street lane has been closed for a couple of months now, maybe even more. And only the street lanes in front of this center too! Not the lanes across the street, either; both streets! Absolutely bonkers. But I digress.
