Ordered pho to go and it was okay. Second time I ordered the vermicelli noodles and it was delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee was one of the best I've ever had. If anything, I would definitely go back just for the coffee! read more

Beautiful decor for a storefront in a strip mall. Food seemed to be very authentic and fresh. Waitress and hostess were very attentive. I personally did not care for the foods flavor. This place started as 4 Stars and has continually declined. It's unfortunate that the server's have to take the brunt of customers wrath due to incompetent cooks that think it's OK to send appetizers out after the entree. They serve a good bowl of Pho, but my biggest gripe is that they are a little stingy with the herbs for takeout, and they completely stopped giving basil out altogether, so now you're left with a few sprigs of Cilantro for this gigantic portion of Pho. Not sure when that change happened. Regardless, their summer rolls are excellent, so I put up with the lack of basil in my Pho because of it. read more

We get takeout from here fairly frequently, and I have ordered the pho several times when I've had a cold (which seems to be instantly cured!). We order from the Chinese menu primarily but all the Vietnamese dishes are wonderful too. The nice thing about the Chinese food here is it is much lighter, very flavorful but not nearly as heavy/greasy as all the other Chinese restaurants here. Very lean meats, fresh vegetables. Pho Saigan is a welcome change from the endless parade of chain restaurants in Youngstown, and a fresh alternative to the very decent but much more common Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern fare Ytown is known for. I lived in the DC metro area for several years, a PHO soup hub of the east coast. This little place in Boardman Ohio trumps most places I have eaten at in MD DC or VA. That is alot to be said for a small town in Ohio. The soup is outstanding, the place is clean, and I noticed the soup is not full of greese like the ones of the south. Definately recommend this place for anyone who has not tried this delicious treat. It is a great experience and the wait staff is very friendly. read more

Changed ownership. Do not come waited 1 1/2 hours for food. Some in the party waited 45 minutes after some finished lunch to get the rest of the food. Chicken and broccoli was horrible. This is the place that I come to when I'm in the mood for some pho especially on a cold day, hits the spot. Pho is the Vietnamese version of chicken noodle soup. It also comes with a plate of fresh veggies of bean sprouts, and cilantro, but lacks the vegetable that really brings out the flavors of pho, and that is thai basil. You can order it with a variety of meats ranging from brisket, meatballs, rare beef slices, tripe all which make the pho really good. I have gotten different meats depending on my mood, and haven't been disappointed with my choices yet. Also ordered the summer rolls, which I'm used to calling them spring rolls so that was a bit of an adjustment when coming to this restaurant. The peanut sauce is a bit on the thick so, but tastes really good. I wish the summer rolls had more meat in them. After the first bite, I did feel like I was biting into a head of lettuce. Can't remember what it was called, but what I got was a soup with rare steak and flank slices (I think it was p6 or soemthing). First time I ever had vietnamese and it was delicious. This soup is definitely one of the oddest, weirdest yet good dishes I've eaten. The meat cooks in the soup so it's not completely raw. Didn't care for the rice noodles in the soup though. This place is great. My family and I eat here every time I come to town to visit. I fell in love with pho when I lived in LA, and this restaurant does not disappoint. Everything is very fresh and perfectly seasoned. They actually offer some Chinese dishes in addition to their Vietnamese food.
