38. Fried Egg, Egg Roll, Grilled Meat, Steamed Egg Meatloaf, Grilled Shrimp / Cơm Đặc Biệt Saigon
Steffany I.

We were looking for something to eat and pho sounded perfect on the gloomy day. Inside was packed but there were a couple tables still open. We were seated quickly and ordered right away. Menu was standard with pho, noodle bowl, rice plates, banh mi, and drinks. We got the rare steak and meatball pho, grilled pork rice place, and shrimp and pork rice plate. Food came out fast. The everything tasted delicious. We love the flavor of the grilled pork and pho broth. The rice plates came with a light broth soup. The portions were big and we had plenty of leftovers. Staff are nice and helpful even if busy. We aren't on this side of Rocklin much but if we were, we'd definitely visit often.

House special pho !

I've been going to this pho place before they even switched management, and going here even now , they have amazing pho soup. Large portions, very flavored , best one out of all I have tried. This is my go to spot. Also they have good service ! Their prices are great I think.

To Pho or not to Pho that is the question Yelpies Upon arriving we thought it might be to close to closing time but once seated and ordered we received our amazing hot food within 5 min... no really 5 min. The wife loved the pho and the pan plate was really good. I wish the meat was more tender but besides that all was great. So yes Pho is the answer... get in here you won't Pho get it

The food is really good here. The service is okay and the ambiance is nice. We love their food here especially their Pho it is very tasty and their appetizers are really good. This is always our go to place whenever we crave for Pho best right now especially cold weather.

Interior. Lots of tables available for dine in.

Really wanted to like this place but it looks like I'll be sticking to our usual pho places in the future. Happened to stop by Recreate (arts and crafts thrift store) next door. It was around lunch time so I decided to place an order with Pho Saigon before entering Recreate. The employee was friendly and the environment inside was pleasant--lots of tables for indoor dining. I had looked on Yelp to see the menu, so it was easy to place my order. I ordered a #41 (pork chop plate with noodles option) and a #6 (charbroiled ground pork spring roll). These dishes were very close to what I order at our favorite Vietnamese spot. Seemed a bit pricey at $29 but maybe it's Rocklin or maybe it's post-Covid pricing. After browsing Recreate for around 15-20 minutes, I returned to Pho Saigon where my order was waiting for me. Took it home and unwrapped the spring rolls. It looked very similar to other restaurants so I was curious if it would taste as good. Immediately noticed that the spring rolls were of different sizes (usually the ones we get are very uniform) and not wrapped as neatly as we were used to. Taste-wise, it was very disappointing. Just kinda meh. The fried pieces of egg roll skin (?) inside was stale and hard to chew. But I figured, maybe they're just not good with appetizers. Tried the #41. Portion size seemed decent. There was a large salad/veggie portion with bean sprouts, lettuce, radish and carrots, Vermicelli noodles (I opted for these instead of rice). steamed egg meatloaf, fried shrimp cake and an unknown substance that I found out later was "shredded pork skin." Everything was just....ok. The steamed egg meatloaf had a different consistency than I was used to. The fried shrimp cake was either overcooked, burnt, fried too many times, or old. Can't figure it out. It was so hard to chew. The shredded pork skin had a very strong smell/taste to it. At first I thought it was some kind of fish skin. I just couldn't eat it because the taste and texture was too foreign to me. Maybe some people like that strong smell/taste but I just couldn't eat it without feeling squeamish. It was good to check out another Vietnamese restaurant in the area. There are quite a few in the area. But it looks like we'll be sticking to our normal favorites (Pho Cali and KT Noodle). PROS: * Large portion sizes * Convenient shopping center with lots of parking * 5% discount when paying with cash * Yelp check-in offer * Vast menu CONS: * Prices seem high * Food is just ok in taste

Came here on a whim since our planned dinner spot was too busy and wait was too long. Decided to find a nice sit down dinner without waiting time close to Blue Oaks, Roseville. Right over the bridge in Rocklin, we ended up at Pho Saigon. They accommodated our party of 10 rather quickly (called to reserve and drove right over). This is a comfortable local hole in the wall Pho spot with delicious and LARGE bowls for pho meals. Food was perfect for a cold night, place was clean, parking was generous, staff was friendly, and service was prompt. What more can you ask for? Tables and seating are limited, so you may want to call ahead for wait time inquiries and possible reservations for larger parties. We plan to try other pho spots but this restaurant surely sets a high standard for all others nearby!

This is a nice clean place. Price is reasonable. Love No.50. It tastes good. I recommend it. Only thing is the beef soup needs improvement.

08.17.23 #41 Com Tom Thit Nuong $13.95
May A.

Takeout Order My co-worker found this place for takeout. They have an extensive menu but I always get a type of rice plate when ordering Vietnamese food. I placed an order for their Com Tom Thit Nuong (#41) which is grilled meat and grilled shrimp. The pork is thinly sliced and charred creating a crunchy, caramelized crust and yet super tender and juicy, very flavorful from the marinade. Add dipping sauce and mmm, mmm, mmm The grilled shrimp came skewered grilled until golden brown. Hints of lemongrass, fish sauce and spices are some of the flavors I could taste. The meal came with rice and salad and, of course, that dipping sauce that is so addicting. Review #3149

I tried out this new place recently and the food is very delicious, I ordered the wonton soup. The ambiance was very good and the staff were very attentive to my needs. Sadly, the bathrooms were not very clean.

Been looking for a good Vietnamese restaurant nearby while visiting family, and finally found one that we all like! Normally we stick to pho at pho restaurants, but we have enjoyed every dish we've had here so far. We initially had their bahn mi via delivery app, but enjoyed them so much we decided to check out the rest of the menu. We ordered nem nuong, short rib pho, hù tiêu, com ga rôti, and com tôm thit nuong. We were impressed by the portion sizes, and everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. The dining area was clean and well kept. We came for a mid-week lunch so service was quick. All the photos on the menu look so good so we had a tough time narrowing down our selections. But once we ordered the food came out timely.

Bun with pork. Yumm!!
Susan S.

Still my favorite restaurant for bun. I come in just about once a week, so they know me and are mildly amused when I order the same item each week. They also remember that I like an additional fish sauce! Very considerate. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Every time. Guess I should branch out and try something else, but I love the bun!

Automatically taking in the ambience of the restaurant, it felt really clean and has a nice dim light that makes the dining experience feel private. The service was very attentive and they'll do a temperature check on how the food is with you after you receive your meal and they were all genuinely very friendly. 10/10 for the service, no doubt. For food, we ordered their "Fukumi Ramen" and their chicken karaage . Chicken karaage came out first and was freshly fried. The coating was amazingly light and the chicken itself was flavorful. It comes served with a lemon wedge and tiny pieces of salad and the dressing in the salad was delicious! For the Fukumi Ramen bowl itself, the initial taste of the broth was flavorful and the black garlic oil was a nice touch. You'll immediately notice how thickkkk their chasu slices are and I think the free order of extra noodles is a nice plus. However, the thin noodles served with the Fukumi Ramen bowl seemed like a lighter color than I normally see at ramen places and the noodles were overcooked so I feel like it obscured the overall taste of the ramen itself since ramen noodles make up so much of the bite. Even though the extra noodles were free and a nice complimentary addition, I feel like I could tell why because the ramen noodles lacked the quality the rest of the bowl had. The tamago egg was decent and I was surprised because it looked like a plain white boiled egg rather than the traditional brown seasoned egg you get in ramen. Overall, I think Fukumi Ramen can do the job of satisfying a cold rainy day, and I think with their wide variety of ramen options, you'll definitely have to try and find one that might hit for you! Portions are huge here too so it might take a couple visits to try more options!

Since it was our first time, we ordered a bunch of items to try. The pan-fried pork buns: were a highlight! Crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and filled with a clean, juicy soup that didn't have that heavy ginger taste. The soup dumplings xlbs had perfect, delicate skins and were incredibly juicy; the classic pork and the crab & pork were my favorites. The pork xlb had tender meat and was juicy, flavor was clean, the crab one is definitely for the seafood lovers, it has a nice SF umaminess too like a crab roe fishball lol. Other standouts included the spicy wontons in a great chili oil sauce and the truffle Angus beef fried rice, which featured surprisingly tender beef and a subtle, well-balanced truffle flavor. For dessert, the chocolate xlb, was excellent and tasted just like a strawberry Nutella crepe, though the matcha version was a bit too concentrated and bitter for my liking. Overall, the food came out quickly, the staff was friendly, and the service was great. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

There's a nice parking lot and, the collection of restaurants/stores in this little plaza give a nice vibe. There isn't a ton of seating inside; you kinda get an idea from some of the various Yelp pics.... and, there are a couple tables outside as well. The Food: - Pork Xiao Long Bao: this was fine...... I guess it's about as good as my memory of Journey to the Dumpling. Honestly, I'd say it's in the ballpark of goodness as the frozen Mila XLBs you can buy at Costco. again, Din Tai Fung has kinda ruined XLBs everywhere else I've gone since no one else comes close. - Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao: this had an odd tanginess to it.. like there was a bit of kimchi in it or something... I didn't care for it (and, I do happen to love kimchi).. and, it wasn't very spicy either. pass on this one. - Spicy Wonton: this was probably the best thing I had here. it was fine. not particularly spicy. and a bit salty. but, it was fine. - Pan-Fried Juicy Pork Buns: I think the filling in this is the same as the XLBs... you just get it in a pan-fried bun instead. I think I actually preferred the regular XLBs bc the larger size of this thing made it kinda hard to eat. - Garlic Noodle: I don't know what I was expecting here... and, I know I shouldn't expect Crustacean (just like I shouldn't expect Din Tai Fung) bc this certainly wasn't anything like Crustacean. These were okay.... the flavor of oyster sauce dominated my palate in an unpleasant way. - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings: these were okay. they ask if you want them spicy or mild. I got mine mild, but I probably should've gotten it spicy. The outside was nice and crispy, but the wing itself was kinda bland despite being covered with chopped garlic. Other things: - The food comes out fairly quickly & scalding hot..... so, don't burn your mouth! - I'd never really thought about it before, but every place that serves XLBs should also have spoons with flat bottoms; this place does not have flat-bottomed spoons. I like to rest my XLBs in my soup spoon while it cools, and since these spoons had rounded bottoms, my dumpling was always kinda lying sideways. - There's only one single-room unisex bathroom in the back, which is probably fine for the size of the restaurant; though, I did get stuck waiting behind a couple people when I needed to use it. so, I guess if you're not an XLB snob like myself & find Journey to the Dumpling and frozen Mila XLBs to be fantastic, then you may like this place quite a bit.... but I was rather disappointed....

Since I ordered from the app, I was able to go in and grab my order then drive back home. My food was still hot by the time I got home even after driving in the cold and pouring rain. When I got home and started eating my bowl which had the seasoned tofu protein, I noticed that they didn't put much of it compared to my husband's bowl that had the grilled chicken protein. On top of that, the noodles were extra oily and greasy and too salty for my liking. I had to drink something sweet after to get rid of all the saltiness. I understand that noodle bowls are typically oily and salty but I just felt like it was too much for my tasting with this bowl. I mostly wished I had more of the seasoned tofu protein though. I guess if I were to order here again next time, I would probably get a bowl with the grilled chicken protein rather than the seasoned tofu protein since it seemed like they add more protein if you opt for the grilled chicken.
