Service was great! Cute little spot to come in and have some pho. The Pho and Rice Plate with Pork was a 4/5. Definitely one of the better vietnamese restaurants out here in Rocklin.

Trying a new restaurant sometimes comes from others being closed! This is what happened today. Why are so many restaurants closed on Tuesday? Trang's is a cute, small restaurant in the doomed mall where everything closes. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings, the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken, and the Beef and Rice dish. The Chicken wings were delicious and crunchy all the way through. Maybe we should have ordered the Pho because the bowls were huge! The Spicy Lemongrass chicken wasn't spicy. Although good, the serving size seemed small. Same with the beef dish. We both left hungry.

I have this place a for because the service and food was great. They accommodated a change to one of our orders. The only thing I would say is that I didn't like the batter used for the fried calamari because it was either burnt or that's the way it tasted. I will return to try the pho next time.

So glad we have another Vietnamese spot in town! We ordered the bun Bo hue and fish sauce chicken wings. Flavor was amazing! Reminds me of my parents' home cooking. I wish the bun Bo hue had more protein though. The service was great. We'll be back!

Great new find. Fresh and healthy food! Had a Thai tea with the vermicelli noodle bowl (combo) very fresh. I was jealous of the spring rolls next table over!

Very pleasant interior space. Feel comfortable eating here. The service was attentive and polite. Beef pho noodle soup was very tasty and good. I had a pork broken rice plate which was really good. Also ordered salt and pepper chicken wings....excellent!

A new Vietnamese restaurant in Rocklin/Roseville thank you. In this warm up day, I stumbled upon a new restaurant near the AYCE sushi place and was surprised by the clean interior and welcoming lights. I ordered the combination plate with broken rice and was left satisfied with tasteful spices, fish sauces, hot pepper spices.. very Vietnamese very authentic. I can't wait to try the variety of other dishes. Their menu is simple but that just means they make their dishes taste delicious.

First time here and I will definitely be back. Spring Rolls: 9/10 - peanut sauce was delicious. Ban bo hue: 7/10 - First time having it, so I can't compare it to others, but it was good. I'd probably try the beef pho next time. Pork Bahn Mi: 10/10 - the pork was so tasty. Best bahn mi I've had in the area. Vietnamese coffee: 6/10 - it was strong like Vietnamese coffee should be, but I'm not a huge fan of strong coffee so my personal rating is 6. Prices were a little higher but that's understandable for a brand new restaurant. Staff was so friendly. Incredibly attentive. Dining area was comfortable and clean.

Com tam combo. Broken rice Grill pork eggrolls

My student and I had Com tam combo. Broken rice Grill pork eggrolls and fried eggs. Wished their combo had shrimp in it too. The only place that have broken rice in Roseville and surrounding area. You gotta go to sac for broken rice. It's not the same rice grain as most rice plates. Really hit the spot for me! Love it Gonna try the BBH next. My daughter likes their rare steak pho and beef ball and strawberry smoothie.

Trang Kitchen Vietnamese Cuisine is the best Vietnamese restaurant that the Rocklin area has had in a while. While their menu is pretty limited, it has all of the essential staples that I usually look for when I'm out looking for some good pho or spring rolls. For the most part, everything we ordered was pretty filling, refreshing, and flavorful. The meat in each item was particularly tender and juicy, and the portions are decent and generous for the price. The service was fast, friendly, welcoming, and professional. Will be returning!

Menu

I don't leave reviews often but this restaurant deserves it. This restaurant is about 3 months new; I am writing to spread the word because I am hoping it stays for years to come. My fiancé and I were pleasantly greeted by the restaurant manager, Peter, as we entered Trang Kitchen. We were immediately sat at a table of our preference. We have our regular go-to Vietnamese restaurants but this one tops our list in the Roseville/Rocklin area, which is great since it's only 5 min away from home. Service: Peter was very friendly and wanted our experience to be pleasant from beginning to end. Being Viet, I had no questions about the menu so we ordered right away. Food came quick. Peter came around often but not too much to make sure our food was good. Menu: Relative to other Vietnamese restaurants from here, all the way down to Elk Grove, the menu is on the smaller side. THIS IS A GOOD THING. There were items that I was familiar with, that I have not seen on other Viet menus. This was a pleasant surprise, since many of the items came straight from my Bà's (grandma's) recipe box. I made a comment to Peter about this and he mentioned it was intentional. They want every item to be as good as the next one on the list. This is a great move. Since every other Viet restaurant feels more or less the same. Here, you are limited to their one-pager but it is a thought out, special menu that the OGs will find comfort in. Food: We ordered a handful of items, as we do when vetting a new-to-us Viet restaurant. Trang Kitchen is the only Viet restaurant that I have been to that I can say TASTES like Bà's cooking. Others were just a reminder of what the general taste profile is like. This confirmed my opinion when Peter said these recipes came from his mother. We ordered the Fried Chicken Wings (chili fish sauce), bún bò Huế, bánh mì thịt with pork, spring rolls and a cà phê sữa đá (ice coffee). The chicken wings came out a little after the main course since they are made fresh to order. Big wings, very tasty, could have more spice (but that may be an unpopular opinion). Spring rolls were amazing and can't go wrong. Bún bò Huế is where things get interesting. I've never tasted a broth so fresh, so aromatic, so clean and light before. It's because they only make their broths in small batches to control the taste & quality. It smelled and tasted almost identical to Bà's cooking. Wow. They even had the chili oil & own shrimp paste (in house recipe) to accompany the soup. Never have I seen this. Pleasant surprise. Iced coffee was on the sweeter side; my fiancé prefers this, I am a fan of more on the stronger side. Inside: Updated, new and CLEAN. The AC wasn't too cold but was not so warm you are dripping in sweat after a bowl of tasty bún bò Huế. The space is small but intimate, though you are not shoulder to shoulder with other patrons. I prefer this to a larger sized restaurant. Peter and I spent about 10 minutes chatting at the end about the Trang Kitchen, how small batch cooking produces better quality food, and its hopeful future plans. I can make viet food at home but it's never the same as grandmas. Thank you for creating a great experience and holding true to mom's or grandmas cooking. It gives me comfort as it is a warm reminder of home. I hope more people who enjoy this cuisine end up at Trang Kitchen and feel the same way. Cheers to Peter, his staff, his brother and their success.

Beef and chicken pho, Thai tea

Family owned cozy spot with amazing and kind service and food! We got beef and chicken pho, and tried both types of wings. Broth was very rich and tasty. Wings with fish sauce were bomb! Oh also got the Vietnamese tea, very tasty! Not too sweet, not too strong! Definitely coming again!

The interior looks like what it used to be pho vegan restaurant. Same owners? Do you have vegan options?

Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. We were greeted when we arrived and the food came out promptly, but after that, things dropped off. The couple with us ordered sodas that were never delivered, and my friend eventually had to walk up and ask for them. What was more disappointing was that instead of checking on tables, the staff member appeared to be eating their own dinner, and we were never checked on again for the remainder of the meal. Because of that, we ended up leaving our leftovers on the table and heading out. Good food, but the lack of attentive service was a turnoff and honestly kind of ruined what could have been a much better experience. I'll have to think about it hard before I go back to this place.

These tables can combine to accommodate large groups such as ours. We were greeted immediately and menus were brought out to our table.. We ordered the following: 1. Pho Xuong (Spare ribs pho): Came with 2 big ribs. Had to ask for a plate and knife on side. Was a little hard to cut but the meat is soft according to my 12yo son. He says to dip the meat into the broth before eating it. 2. Pho Dac Biet (Special Pho): Hubby says it's not shabby and the portion was decent. For the bowl size, there was not alot of meat. 3. Pho Tai Bo Vien (Beef and beef meatball Pho) 4. Com Suong Bo Dai Han (Broken rice w/ Koream ribs): Decent portion but missing pork rinds and a chili. The marination for the ribs is good. The meat is tender but most of it had fat. 5. Bun thi nuong cha gio (vermicelli noodles w/ pork and eggroll): You can choose from pork, beef or chicken..i chose pork as that's the traditional way I eat it. It'a a good size bowl, a little large for me, but overall not bad with the flavors. Lots of veggies (romaine lettuce and bean sprouts. No mint or perilla leaves). The vermicelli noodles were a little firm compare to how I cook my noodles but it is edible. It's not undercooked. Could be the noodle brand. I was full halfway through. 6. Banh Mi Chao (sizzling beef plate similar to Bo Ne) The pho bowls were in stainless steel bowls and they BIG. The broth is decent though slightly light in flavor compared to Pho in San Jose. I can't comment on the other dishes as my friends ate it. The veggie dish for the Pho came in 2 separate dishes with quick blanched bean sprouts and the other dish with some 3 basil stems (1 per Pho bowl), 6 small pieces of lime, and some jalapeno slices). The service was good as requests were met promptly by the staff.

The table had utensils and different sauces. The menu lots of options, from drinks, pho, rice plates and vermicelli bowls. Prices were pretty reasonable. We opted for a large pho with deep fried chicken, extra noodle and vermicelli with pork and shrimp bowl. The pho was perfect. Our kids loved the noodles and broth, and the fried chicken was so good! The chicken itself were 4 decently big pieces and surprisingly good with the pho. The pork vermicelli bowl was also great. Both portions were pretty big and able to feed our family of four. A couple minutes later they gave me all the toppings, thai basil, lime, and bean sprouts. And soon after that the bowl of piping hot pho came out. It was the perfect amount for a light dinner. The broth had depth and was well seasoned without needing anything extra. There was plenty of meat and tendon. It came out to $20 including tip. Would come back for more. The restaurant is pretty big with plenty of tables. All the utensils, condiments, and napkins are on the table already.
