The table had utensils and different sauces. The menu lots of options, from drinks, pho, rice plates and vermicelli bowls. Prices were pretty reasonable. We opted for a large pho with deep fried chicken, extra noodle and vermicelli with pork and shrimp bowl. The pho was perfect. Our kids loved the noodles and broth, and the fried chicken was so good! The chicken itself were 4 decently big pieces and surprisingly good with the pho. The pork vermicelli bowl was also great. Both portions were pretty big and able to feed our family of four. Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon and there were several other tables occupied. I was seated immediately and given a menu and a glass of water. I ordered a small #25. A couple minutes later they gave me all the toppings, thai basil, lime, and bean sprouts. And soon after that the bowl of piping hot pho came out. It was the perfect amount for a light dinner. The broth had depth and was well seasoned without needing anything extra. There was plenty of meat and tendon. It came out to $20 including tip. Would come back for more. Rarely do they have that combo. I went with #29- rare beef and soft tendon. I didn't specify small or large, but I'm guessing I was given a large since everybody else in my party went with large. The food came out quickly. There was plenty of tendon. It was good overall, but I didn't feel like the portion was that big. I ordered to go from there not that long ago, and it seemed to have more. I will remain a patron of DT Noodles mainly now to support small owned businesses locally, and it is just few minutes from where I reside. Unless there is a very special compelling to plan hours or days in advance, I lean on dining out at places which rarely, or never need reservations, very short driving distance, and familiar with which foods are mostly made in-house, and taste good, may if not great. I gave DT Noodles a four star, though tempted to rate it a five star just to boost it given I enjoy Vietnamese cuisine, even if not meeting my previous decades long cosmopolitan multicultural dining standards. Decent to great ratings can help the longevity of neighborhood restaurants and I am a big proponent of supporting local based restaurants. However, I hope the owners take a hint and pay more attention to the quality of the meats being used. First, a bit more of color around the walls would offer more warmth, not the stale bland ambiance. Most trained chefs and food experts claim the expectations of how food is served is influenced by physical ambience. I will say that prior to this year, the meat portions of their entres seemed tenderer. This year, the meats and seafoods seem overly chewy. In some other dishes, meats are also dry, which affects overall taste. Three other Vietnamese restaurants I have patronized when in Rocklin and further away in Roseville, have a more cultural diverse representation of Vietnamese dishes. I wish DT Noodles would introduce other dishes using other ingredients. It seems, at least to me, same ingredients are just layered to give the impression of many choices. However, for those with limited travel and culturally diverse foodie experiences, if the food tastes good and confident it is freshly prepared, then enjoy the growing dining diversity of this region. read more

One of the best Vietnamese food spots and Pho spots. I swear broth is like a miracle elixir. It's so flavorful and for some reason it's the one thing that cures me whenever I'm feeling under the weather or when I'm coming down with something. I tend to like number 21 with Vermicelli noodles but the wonton soup is to die for as well. Came here on sunday around 1pm. I was seated right away. I ordered the pho dac biet and durian smoothie. Both were delicious. The noodles were bouncy, not overcooked. The assorted meats elevated the bowl with the interesting texture variety. I especially liked the tripe and meatballs. Not sure why I never came back. I don't remember having a bad experience here in the past. Recently hubby took me here for dinner and we ordered rice plates (Cơm Dia). #63 for me -- Grilled Pork Chops over steam rice and hubby chose #67 Com Thit Bo Nuong, Tom, Cha Gi (grilled beef, grilled shrimp, and egg roll over steamed rice). My pork chops came bone-in with some cartilage when I chewed on the meat. Wish they offered it boneless but it's okay, the meat was flavorful especially dipped in the fish sauce. The taro smoothie was very good. I was expecting it to have boba but it was still yummy without it. I also had the vermacelli with grilled pork, veggies and an egg roll. The portion size was a good amount. The grilled pork was a little dry and more chewy than I'm accustomed to. However, overall the food was good. The service was friendly and fast. I'm pretty sure I came here on an off day. My bro-in law suggested this place for vietnamese food, so I figured it's going to be good. It was just ok for me. They were short-staffed with one person on the floor and maybe one other person in the kitchen. They had multiple signs on the store front letting people know that the wait will be long due to staffing (typical problem restaurants are having these days). There weren't many patrons dining in, but they were prepping a lot of pickup orders! Anyway, we were patient because of this. The lone wait staff was obviously flustered though and gave us a little attitude for adding on to our order later on. So on to the food. I ordered the bbq pork with shrimp and egg roll rice plate. The pork portion was very generous!!! It was lacking flavor though. It had a good amount of sweetness to it, but the lemongrass flavor was missing. It was edible at least, so it didn't go to waste. Wow glad I decided to stop by here. Happened to be in the area and had a major craving for spring rolls and pho. Ambiance was meh, so I didn't want to sit in and ordered take out. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls($7.95) and chicken pho ($14.95). The man at the counter was nice and brought me my order in less than 15mins! Everything hit the spot for me! Omg it took me 30 mins to get home and the soup was still piping hot. They didn't skimp out on the chicken either, I had enough to share with my dog haha. I tried three menu items: * Goi Cuon Tom Thit Nuong (2 shrimp and grilled pork spring rolls) * Tom Hoa Tien (6 pieces shrimp tempura) * Mi Hoanh Thanh Dac Biet (Wonton noodle combo - chicken, shrimp wonton with egg noodle and chicken broth) The soup was my favorite. Great flavored broth, full of tasty meat and wonton. My spring roll was not bad, but it seemed to lack enough pork in the filling. You certainly do get a generous portion of spring roll. Then we asked for the dipping sauce. Then most Vietnamese restaurants serve the egg rolls with lettuce and shredded carrots. This one was just egg rolls.
