Satay Chicken
Louise E.

Good food but the portion sizes were not for sharing. We ordered our usual orders (shrimp tom yum, beef red curry and satay chicken) in Thai restaurants. I'd say there's nothing special with their version. Our food was served extremely fast though. But, we were the only customers too.

**750th Yelp review** Woo Hoo!! As our go-to Thai restaurant is closed on Sunday we thought we'd try this place, a bit father field, only because they had both Golden Fried Tofu and Pineapple Fried Rice on the menu where others did not. Friends of ours love the Tofu and we were bringing take-out for them to enjoy it. Ordering on-line was simple and the confirmations came quickly, and the order was ready when I arrived. The restaurant is in a large shopping area and easy to find. It's large and clean and looks quite attractive inside. All of the food was warm enough when we got it to our destination, and packaged very well for travel. I ordered the Golden Tofu (appetizer), Chicken Salad, Pad Pak Mixed Vegetables with chicken, Pad Thai with Mixed Vegetables, Pineapple Fried Rice and two additional containers of Jasmine Rice. This was for four people and there was a lot of left overs, so the portions were good. Taste wise everything was quite good, flavorful and satisfying. In particular I liked the freshness and complexity of the Chicken Salad. I recommend this place and will gladly return in a specific time, or for convenience. Eating in would also appear to be very enjoyable for the overall atmospehere.

Randomly decided to stop here for some Thai food and ohhhhh man sure glad we did!! Place was quite empty but we didn't care. Sila Thai Cusisine did NOT disappoint! Exquisite Thai food and near close authentic taste to what I recall during our Thailand visit. Craving Thai food? You have to give this spot a try. Generous parking, friendly staff, great customer service, bathrooms are clean, place is clean, plenty of tables, seating is spacious with tables spaced out, food is promptly served (but then again we didn't go during rush hour), and food was authentically Thai tasty approved! Ambiance is classy, stylish, open, and great for any occasion with anybody your heart so desires. Highlights were the pineapple fried rice, panang curry chicken, and shrimp pad thai. Pad Thai seems, for me, what tends to make it or break it in terms of authenticity - it shouldn't be overly sweet, just enough subtle sweetness to keep your taste buds yearning for more and that's precisely what the chefs here succeed in doing. Thai iced tea was yummy Everything we ordered had that authentic taste we're always looking for and this spot just has that "it" factor so many other Thai restaurants seem to miss. Highly recommended spot if you're in the area and craving a wonderful Thai food experience!

Red chicken curry and white rice

Ordered take out, red curry chicken. Just as expected. Amazing, flavorful, will be my new favorite spot for a quick tasty great quality food.

The drunken noodles are great here! Decent portion size, and they have a variety of fresh veggies mixed in. Cozy restaurant. The staff and owners are very friendly and had everything ready when I arrived.

Ordered a lot of food. Our server was fantastic! I've been here before and dined in, we even had carry out in the past. Decided to celebrate here and had family come visit from the Bay. Our server was very friendly and always coming back to check on us. The food was delicious, our favorites are the 1. Tom Kha soup and 53. Pad See Eiw and 57. Basil Fried Rice and we always order the 24. Panang Curry with white rice . The restaurant is clean and they had one tv but unfortunately no sports playing which is ok. But the NBA playoffs on! Ah well, we still had a wonderful time and a good experience here. Riona had excellent customer service and we were all completely satisfied with the dishes and service. Thank you Riona!! We will be back again!

Atmosphere-- wide open and very inviting. Service- welcoming, attentive, seemed nice to their customers. Food-solid Thai food. I came in with a friend. I have to say the pad Thai (chicken) and red curry (chicken) were both very tasty. Level 2 spice is not spicy at all so I'll have to bump that up next time I visit. Not sure if I'll grab the salad on my next go around. I'll try one of their rice dishes or the Tom kha Kai cause I absolutely love coconut soup.

As I was entering this place, a lady outside stopped me to let me know this was the best Thai food she had ever had. So there's another +1 in addition to my review here: The restaurant had a steady flow of customers, dining in and picking up; even with the steady flow of customers the interior of the restaurant remained quiet, soft instrumental music playing delicately in the back ground. Now while I wouldn't say it is the best that I've had, it was still REALLY good. All the food is very reasonably priced, every menu item is well worth what they are priced at. The pork in the Moo Yang was very tender, fell off the bone easily, little juicy, but still juicy The Moo Yang housemade sauce was delicious. Very reminiscent of a sweet chili/salsa hard to describe but very flavorful Yellow curry flavor was -timid(?)- it was there, it was a good flavor, but I didn't feel like I tasted the curry flavor as much in each bite as I expected, Appetizers, I wasn't really impressed with - the peanut sauce that comes on the chicken satay was easily the best part - a very well done sauce; the sample platter was still good - I don't regret the purchase, but wouldn't order it again; good if you can't decide on which appetizer you want or want to sample multiple. Worth the stop, would definitely eat here again.

Mushy Pad See Ew

Went out looking for a nice Thai meal and left with a bad taste in my mouth. Was looking forward to Pad See Ew but got a plate of mushy noodles stuck together that disintegrated when tried to eat The broccoli on the dish was mushy also. Larb was overly salty as well as the pork chop and the fried squid was not edible and we spit it out. Tea and Tom Yum is what we finished because we were so hungry along with the rice that came with the pork chop but the rest we left behind. The waitress wasn't even shocked to see all the food at the end and for us to turn down to-go containers. Seems they are aware of how bad it is and just don't care.

Drunken noodles arent noodles at all. Flabs of over cooked dough and super sweet. Tom kha is 3/10.

I had given up and hadn't eaten Thai food in Sac and surrounding cities for a long time because of this. Then my friend invited me out to dinner at My Thai Kitchen and with one bite of their curry puff appetizer and pad Thai, FINALLY! The Thai flavors I've been searching for! It was happy hour, so we enjoyed $1 off shumai and curry puffs. This was my friend's first time trying both, and all disappeared in both of our bellies! The curry puffs were filled with potatoes and vegetables, with the perfect hint of spice. Their Pad Thai is exactly how I like it, not too sweet and tangy. Our protein was shrimp and they serve such a large quantity that I had delicious leftovers for three days! We dined outside and enjoyed their large patio, and service from beginning to end was excellent, so much that one of the employees asked us if we wanted dessert in the end and excitedly convinced us to order the mango with the black sticky rice. The mango with sticky rice was already catching our eyes from the menu photos, so the server's excitement was enough for us to make our decision quickly! I looked through the windows and saw how beautifully decorated their interior dining area is. I highly recommend My Thai. Their menu is extensive, so anyone will find something to their liking. Needless to say, I have now made this my Thai spot must go!

I had placed an order to go. I had no idea how expensive Thai food was. I think I got three different meals. I got an appetizer platter to try multiple things pad Thai and then something else that I don't remember the name of. I believe it's a family owned business and the daughter was the one who helped me. She was very sweet and I asked her for a suggestion on the appetizers. I believe she suggested green curry empanadas but I'm not 100% sure. I walked in and it definitely gave hole in the wall vibes. They had my food ready and were very kind. Everything came out to about $70 or $80. I did a food review. You can always check it out on my TikTok (wehave_hotwater) the food was good. I gave away a good amount of it because there was so much!! As it turns out I'm not a big fan of pad Thai, but their appetizer plate was amazing and I must be back!!!

The ambience is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your meal. The chicken Penang curry was incredible, rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, with just the right balance of spice and sweetness. The chicken satay was perfectly grilled, tender, and paired with a peanut sauce that took it over the top. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and so good with the dipping sauce. Every bite was a hit. Between the amazing food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the genuine hospitality of this family-owned restaurant, I cannot recommend Khun Suda enough.

Since it was our first time, we ordered a bunch of items to try. The pan-fried pork buns: were a highlight! Crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and filled with a clean, juicy soup that didn't have that heavy ginger taste. The soup dumplings xlbs had perfect, delicate skins and were incredibly juicy; the classic pork and the crab & pork were my favorites. The pork xlb had tender meat and was juicy, flavor was clean, the crab one is definitely for the seafood lovers, it has a nice SF umaminess too like a crab roe fishball lol. Other standouts included the spicy wontons in a great chili oil sauce and the truffle Angus beef fried rice, which featured surprisingly tender beef and a subtle, well-balanced truffle flavor. For dessert, the chocolate xlb, was excellent and tasted just like a strawberry Nutella crepe, though the matcha version was a bit too concentrated and bitter for my liking. Overall, the food came out quickly, the staff was friendly, and the service was great. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

unfortunately, Din Tai Fung has kinda ruined all other restaurants that serve XLBs for me…read more I dropped by Uncle Dumpling for lunch on a Saturday. There's a nice parking lot and, the collection of restaurants/stores in this little plaza give a nice vibe. There isn't a ton of seating inside; you kinda get an idea from some of the various Yelp pics.... and, there are a couple tables outside as well. The Food: - Pork Xiao Long Bao: this was fine...... I guess it's about as good as my memory of Journey to the Dumpling. Honestly, I'd say it's in the ballpark of goodness as the frozen Mila XLBs you can buy at Costco. again, Din Tai Fung has kinda ruined XLBs everywhere else I've gone since no one else comes close. - Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao: this had an odd tanginess to it.. like there was a bit of kimchi in it or something... I didn't care for it (and, I do happen to love kimchi).. and, it wasn't very spicy either. pass on this one. - Spicy Wonton: this was probably the best thing I had here. it was fine. not particularly spicy. and a bit salty. but, it was fine. - Pan-Fried Juicy Pork Buns: I think the filling in this is the same as the XLBs... you just get it in a pan-fried bun instead. I think I actually preferred the regular XLBs bc the larger size of this thing made it kinda hard to eat. - Garlic Noodle: I don't know what I was expecting here... and, I know I shouldn't expect Crustacean (just like I shouldn't expect Din Tai Fung) bc this certainly wasn't anything like Crustacean. These were okay.... the flavor of oyster sauce dominated my palate in an unpleasant way. - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings: these were okay. they ask if you want them spicy or mild. I got mine mild, but I probably should've gotten it spicy. The outside was nice and crispy, but the wing itself was kinda bland despite being covered with chopped garlic. Other things: - The food comes out fairly quickly & scalding hot..... so, don't burn your mouth! - I'd never really thought about it before, but every place that serves XLBs should also have spoons with flat bottoms; this place does not have flat-bottomed spoons. I like to rest my XLBs in my soup spoon while it cools, and since these spoons had rounded bottoms, my dumpling was always kinda lying sideways. - There's only one single-room unisex bathroom in the back, which is probably fine for the size of the restaurant; though, I did get stuck waiting behind a couple people when I needed to use it. so, I guess if you're not an XLB snob like myself & find Journey to the Dumpling and frozen Mila XLBs to be fantastic, then you may like this place quite a bit.... but I was rather disappointed....
