I'm not sure what to think of this place but OVERALL my review is based on food, ambiance, cleanliness and customer service. Right when we walked in, we were not welcomed or greeted. 3.5 stars for me. This is an authentic Chinese restaurant. We had the chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken and broccoli beef. The beef was okay but not many Chinese restaurants to have great beef, the chow mein was alittle greasy for me but still good, the orange chicken had too much sauce but actually tasted better the next day for leftovers. After three years preferring not to return even if just minutes from where I live, and dining more frequently than at home, I tried again just a few days ago on July 16 for lunch. I was way too hungry to drive farther to enjoy an Asian theme meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The positive aspects is that it is family owned for over 13 years in same neighborhood spot; place is clean and comfortable always with parking just a few feet away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great dessert spots within short walking distance if the complimentary fortune cookie is not enough. Choices are extensive and prices are very reasonable with generous portions. However, the taste, texture and quality of the food is good enough for those who have never patronized Asian restaurants in major cosmopolitan cities and other culinary sophisticated towns. Allow me to enlighten those of you assuming Chinese American is culturally authentic. In Roseville, there are less than five, (and I am being kind), if including Rocklin. Most just cater to budget travelers and those whose palates are easily placated if foods have enough salt, sugar and hot chili; in other words those with basic taste buds. The luncheon special I had tasted like each component was carried over from day before and reheated. American frozen size peas and carrots tossed into the dry overly loose fried rice is not a common sight elsewhere. In fact what turned me off last time was the familiar peas and carrots found in any supermarket frozen section redolent in Wor WonTon. I have never, never, never seen any other restaurant take cheap short cuts in that type of soup, not even the smallest greasy Chinese cafes in the slummiesst parts of San Francisco or Oakland. The luncheon special I ordered included BBQ slices of pork which were dry and tough even if coated with sauce. The other two parts of the meal were okay, nothing which would tantalize my desire to order again. If I return, it will be because I am starving, and too lazy to even make a sandwich or salad at home. There are a couple of better, more meticulous prepared American Chinese restaurants a few miles farther. I rarely, unless someone's guest with a modest budget, patronized any Chinese American style restaurant even in my former hometown of San Francisco. However, as others love chicken, I often crave for roasted duck and not all Chinese restaurants offer whole cooked duck. I would be tempted to compromise my otherwise high expectations for roasted duck to enjoy one within brief driving distance. For those of us with more globallty sophisticated knowledge and appetite for culturally diverse cuisine, our patience is slowly be rewarded as more distinctive restaurants are gravitating to Roseville. We do not need more American Chinese renditions especially if shortcuts translate into lackluster impressions. But then, if you do not know the differences. Leo's Kitchen offer very affordable prices with generous portions. read more

My husband and I were looking for a nice dinner to take the kids after getting our taxes done in the center and decided to try out this spot! After perusing their drool-worthy menu we decided on the Super Set Family Dinner with Egg Flower Soup, Wonton Soup, Tofu with Mix Vegetables, Combo Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodle and Fish Fillet Sauteed w/Vegetable. A 5 Star worthy family-style meal that even the kids loved with plenty of leftovers! Decided to give this a try! Parking was not an issue, it is located in a plaza that isn't usually too busy. I decided to order the beef and broccoli combo. The waitress was super nice and respectful. For the combo I had questioned if I could do half rice and half chow mein they answered just yes. However, when it came down to the bill, It said there was a $2 charge. I truly didn't appreciate how this charge was a surprise and they could have just mentioned it upfront or at least on the menu to let others be aware. it was no issue, I paid it however please put this on the menu so it doesn't stir up any confusion!!! As for the combo, the food wasn't the best but it wasn't bad just OKAY. I felt the chow mein and fried rice was a bit bland, needed more salt and seasonings. The egg roll was kind of cold and had too much eggroll wrap but little stuffing inside. However, the main dish was the beef and broccoli! I felt this was delicious. It had fresh broccoli and the meat was tender. I loved it. The dimsum soup was SO good and warming. I loved it. Wanted to get duck for Christmas Day. Called in and she had to check if they still had a half duck available and responded with a yes. I was excited until I opened the dish at home. I couldn't believe they would have a customer pay nearly $20 for this. It seemed like it was old and reheated under the roaster again. It was well over cooked almost dehydrated like jerky! There was no sign of any juice whatsoever. I would have been happy if they didn't have any available instead of selling me this horrible entree of a dish. Straight up trash. Ordered roast duck noodle soup and it was $18 for a small, I mean SMALL ass bowl and the duck was jerky tough duck. Previously frozen then boiled to order. I can get a $14 bowl of pho, up the street with 2 -3 times the amount of food. Absolute deal breaker, they charged 4.50 for hot tea. It's a .05 teabag. 900% mark up. Sorry, but I don't see why the good reviews here. Mongolian Beef was salty. House Chow Mein was too oily. Honey Walnut Shrimp was battered and over done. It didn't looked like Honey Walnut Shrimp that I am used to; this was fried in panko with old oil that made it turn brown. Orange Chicken was ok at best. They included an order of rice at no charge. Portion size was small and all this barely was enough for four people. Four dishes cost $75! We considered ordering online but it directs you to door dash, which is more so we went directly to the restaurant. Order was ready in 15 mins. Will not be going back. read more

We placed an order on Christmas Day early in the day to pick up at 4:45 pm. We arrived at 4:40 and was told our order was not even started and it would be 20-30 min. This is both mine and my eldest daughter's favorite restaurant in town. Their wonton soup and potstickers are literally my favorite foods. I love to mix a bit of their sweet-and-sour sauce with the sauce they provide and dip my potstickers in it. The potstickers always have the perfect texture - soft and fluffy, but crispy on the sides. There was a nose hair, eyebrow hair, or eyelash hair on my plate. When I brought it to the waiter's attention, he seemed skeptical like I was lying and made a distasteful face as he walked away. A few minutes later, he's told me that my plate would be redone, which it was. I never received an apology for the lack of sanitation or the delay in having my dinner re-made.
