Anytime anyone in my household is sick, we order takeout of this amazing concoction. Within 24 hours - healed!! Every. Single. Time. We've been coming to this establishment for the past 8 years, but just discovered the soup about 4 years ago. I can't keep it to myself any longer. It's just too good. I had the flu this past week and ordered the soup and BOOM! Instantly back to life. Bonus: I just learned you can order extra broth on the side for only $5! Amazing. Why 3 stars? The Chinese food was quite average, bland, and not one single dish stood out to us as extraordinary, unfortunately. To summarize briefly, this spot leans to a more American taste rather than authenticity. We ordered pineapple fried rice, Mongolian beef (spicy), Mongolian eggplant and tofu (spicy), pork soup dumplings, shrimp chow mein, and combination sweet bao. The Mongolian eggplant, with all the hype from reviews and photos, was quite different compared to other spicy eggplant dishes we've had - dry and crispy instead of spicy and flavorful. We really wanted to love the food here especially with the staff being super attentive, but every bite was just underwhelmingly bland and there are plenty of other spots in Roseville with better soup dumplings. We had to mix their side spicy sauces with nearly every bite to add some flavor and spice... might've been even better with a dash of soy sauce as well. The combo sweet bao tasted as if they were from Ranch 99 or a local Asian market - didn't seem authentic or freshly made in-house. Local and want to order delivery? Skip door dash or any other 3rd party services. Order directly from their site (or call) and they'll deliver food to you at a cheaper price (or free, perhaps?). I'd recommend to try this spot for yourself and who knows? You might just like it. To each their own and your preferences might be different from ours! For us, this just wasn't it. Flavor and tastes were subpar and bland, menu items were flagged as spicy yet not a hint of spice to us, and nothing special stood out despite ordering a good number of dishes. I was running around doing errands and decided to eat before driving home this place got pretty good reviews on yelp so I popped in for a quick lunch, I'm not sure if the food is any good here or if I ordered "wrong" because I was very disappointed with my deluxe vegetable and steamed rice place. Considering, if comparing Chinese cuisine in more "foodie" famous cosmopolitan areas of California, especially San Francisco Bay Area, local ratings have to given on local expectations of what defines authentic Chinese recipes closer than compromised American Chinese which describes all Chinese restaurants in Placer County. However Bambu Garden, still tipping over Chinese American, retains integrity of traditional layers of seasonings and preparation, plus the interior is aesthetically both elegant and casually comfortable. I have been there, including early last week, three times since I moved to Roseville a couple years ago which is more than all other Chinese restaurants combined. I am still at a stage of exploring many other specialty restaurants, but Bambu Garden is still my go to for Chinese cuisine. However, If management and other regular customers read this comment, I wish it would serve real dim sum service whereby portions per each choice is appropriate for one person's order, not the huge quantity which discourages the usual dim sum tradition of enjoy several different items. In other words, each ordered plate should have no more than two to four maximum pieces of one item to be able to enjoy a variety than fill up on volume of one type. It would be more pleasant to enjoy the better known tradition of afternoon dim sum as mamy of us from more culinary sophisticated and foodie cities are accustomed. The focus is to enjoy a variety, not a bulk quantity of same items. Each plate should have no more than between two to four pieces to be able to order and enjoy other choices. I do not want to make a meal of one dim sum item, but to enjoy ordering a variety. In more "foodie" cities dim sum was viewed more as an afernoon treat, much like how Brits observe Afternoon Tea for those of you who are familiar with that traditional distinction. There are thousands formerly from cosmopolitan towns and cities and would enjoy traditional dim sum service. Bambu Garden has a very nice ambience which would enhance dim sum dining. read more

First, they are not ADA compliant as they do not have wheelchair access. If you need assistance to get over the curb, you have to go to the other end of the shopping mall and around the corner; use the ramp down there, and walk/roll across the front of all the stores to get back to the restaurant. The ramp is so far away that you can't even see it from the front of the restaurant. After all that, they don't have wheelchair seating inside. Second, The servers were trying their best with what they have. Nice, energetic, and tried to be accommodating. Kudos to them. Third, The food was mediocre at best. I've had better from Raleys Deli department. One person's chicken and mushroom was all mushroom and salt. The honey walnut chicken was fried breading with sauce plus only 3 walnut halves. There was NO meat inside the breading! Were they out of chicken? The rice was obviously sitting out for a while, dry and bland. The chow mein was just noodles; greasy, no veg or meat in them and essentially flavorless. These 2 "meals" were $45.!!! I could have bought better food from Panda Express and paid $20. for the 2 meals. I was looking forward to trying something near to my new place. This was a grand disappointment. I can not recommend Bamboo garden, unless the recommendation is to stay away. I'll continue driving across town for good Chinese food from Rose Garden. read more

Yum! I pass this place multiple times and decided to give it a try! To start, if you use Apple Maps it will lead you in the middle of the plaza, just know it is right near safe way and to go left! Parking was a bit cramped, however easy to locate. I went on a Saturday around 5pm and they had a couple customers, pretty busy but still available tables out. They gave me a menu and the food choices were a bit expensive - possibly around $17-30 for a combo depending on what meat you choose. I believe it was about $20 to order shrimp. I ended up ordering the beef and broccoli combo. I had asked if I can order half fried rice and half chow mein, however this is not allowed. I got the chow mein and egg soup. The egg soup was so hot and delicious. Pretty flavorful and a good starting appetizer before my food was served. My combo plate came directly after. This food was great! I love when Chinese restaurants use a bit more five spice in their dishes, it makes the food more fragrant and that's exactly what this restaurant did! the chow mein was a bit bland and tasted of more jsut noodles but it is good for what it is. I was in Roseville and wanted a quick dinner but not fast food or a burger. I saw this Chinese restaurant and decided to see what they had besides the usual stuff. Bambu Garden is located in the Safeway shopping center around the corner of the building of Safeway. A friend had introduced me to tomato beef chow mein Hong Kong style. I saw this was offered on the menu here. I was here with one other friend and he ordered the Singapore curry noodles. Prices here seemed a little high, like $17.50 for the tomato beef and $16 for the curry noodles. I guess it's just the price of going out these days. The food arrives and it's all hot and looking good. After posing the food for pics, we dig in. The Curry noodles are spiced just right, not too much curry but enough so it's not bland. The tomato beef dish was sauced well and the flavor had just the right vinegar kick. The noodles were super crispy. All in all a good quick dinner and a little leftover to go. I'd eat here again if I was in the area. This food is way better than what I can get in Red Bluff, that's for sure. read more

We grabbed takeout from Bambu Garden this weekend. This was our first experience with this restaurant, and it was most positive. Our ordered was Black Pepper Beef, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and White Rice. Everything was delicious and fortunately for us, the serving portions were very generous. The tender beef was sauteed in black pepper, yellow onion, bell pepper along with a pleasing sauce. Our Shrimp with Lobster Sauce included carrots, onion, water chestnuts and peas stir-fried in a wonderful sauce. I would order both again. Good value for your food dollar. read more

Ordered the Combo Szechuan Chicken (spicy) extra spicy. It had 0 flavor! Had to add soy sauce, salt, and red pepper flakes. Chow mein also flavorless. Also, chicken seemed to be missing. Chicken chow mein and Szechuan chicken combined had less than a breast's worth of chicken. Combo Mongolian Beef (spicy) had the same issues. Came here on a random Sunday afternoon and ordered some salt and pepper chicken (dark meat) and beef chow fun to go. It came out to $40, including a 20% tip. Didn't have to wait too long for the food and the serving sizes were quite big. The chicken was super crispy and the chow fun had plenty of beef and the noodles were nice and chewy. Going out for Chinese food is a special time my granddaughter and I share since she was 5; now 9. We tried bamboo garden about 2 years ago and we Love it! Staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is always clean and relaxed. The food is outstanding, very fresh, and you can rely on it tasting as delicious as your time before. The last restaurant we used to go to changed. Sometimes it was good, other times it was bad. So we were very happy with our first experience at bamboo garden and I'm sure we've been there at least 25 times since! Let me start this review with the good, because there absolutely were good things about this restaurant. We arrived a little over an hour before they closed, and the restaurant was pretty empty, we were sat right away. The service started off fine, pretty much what you would expect, timely, nice, etc. nothing too special. We received our drinks, appetizers, and food in a nice amount of time, didn't feel like too long or too little. The flavor of the food was mostly good. Our appetizers were tasty (potstickers and egg rolls), and our main courses were decent. A big enough portion size for one or two more meals to take home. The chicken chow mein was very tasty, as well as the Mongolian beef and beef & broccoli. All had nice flavors that didn't come on too strong, but sat nicely Now for the not so good. It's true that most of the food was tasty, but some of it was also extremely bland. The orange chicken had very little flavor, and the BBQ pork fried rice was nothing special. All of the meat was very chewy, the flavor was good on some of it (as stated above), but the texture of the meat made it much less pleasant. Most of the people at our table ordered the combination plates (comes with soup), but it's extra for the sides, which is bizarre to me for a combination plate, but I looked past it. After we ordered, we were told that they were out of their special soups, so we just took the "combination" plate will all of the paid for sides. They did not do anything to accommodate for the missing soup. The inside of the restaurant itself is nice at a glance, but when you really start looking, it's older and getting dilapidated. Lamp shades were ripped, the leather seats a little worn and old. To only make matters worse, 30 minutes before they closed they started vacuuming the restaurant, with us there. Now I have worked in retail and dining, and this is NEVER acceptable in any place. If we were staying forever, and it was closing time, I would understand. This was not the case however. We were trying to be respectful and finish our food quickly, but they still rushed us out of the door. 30 minutes before they close. Sizzling rice soup that look like dirty dish water with a few vegetables and maybe three shrimp barbecue pork rice look dirty and very greasy. The crispy egg rolls were soggy very very poor quality. It cost me $76.99 so people in this area in the Highland reserve area don't waste your time going here go to teriyaki bowl which is around the corner down the street past Safeway way better food much better price quality is awesome. Don't waste your time and money at bamboo garden horrible food Especially when the soup looks like dirty dish water almost made me throw up and for $76.99 that's highway robbery. This restaurant has a nice ambience, booth seating and friendly service although it can be a bit difficult to understand staff. If you are a vegetarian stay away from this place. All there noodle dishes co rain oyster sauce. Their soups have chicken powder that is used in their broth. Their fried rice dishes contain egg which is normal. Other than steamed rice not a lot on the menu since they don't have a dish without oyster sauce. They had something with white sauce but could t understand if that contained any meat, fish, eggs, or gelatin. Very pricey too. We just left. The potstickers were very undercooked, to a point they were inedible. The noodle dish we had was a weird flavor. The only item I enjoyed was the crab Rangoon. I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND holiday orders!! NEVER AGAIN!! Next with the price increase I felt it was time for a proper update. This is an order of sweet & sour prawns & honey walnut prawns. Price increase wouldn't bother me if it was a decent amount of food. But now with the smaller portions, at this price, it's just ridiculous. These sizes won't even accommodate 2 or more people.
