Pretty place

Cute place in a convenient location. I was running around doing errands and decided to eat before driving home this place got pretty good reviews on yelp so I popped in for a quick lunch, I'm not sure if the food is any good here or if I ordered "wrong" because I was very disappointed with my deluxe vegetable and steamed rice place. The service was basically 1 person running the whole restaurant so it was slow but serviceable.

I've had Shrimp with Lobster Sauce in many places, but never with more or better sauce and flavor. Onions galore! Great rice and egg roll too. Clean, quiet, and easy with real Asian staff who serve with care. Come for a nice lunch and pleasant experience.

Ordered a variety of items for take out and Bambu Garden did not disappoint. The dishes were flavorful - Not salty or greasy. I was left feeling full without feeling thirsty. I will definitely go back. 10/10 recommend.

First time dining here and it did not disappoint. Nice ambiance and good service. The lady owner sees to it that she interacts with customers and was friendly. The food was great, albeit not your usual Chinese taste but still good and not salty. I would recommend dining here.

Chow mein and salt & pepper green beans

Had a delicious meal. We've been here many times but this is the first time since its changed owners. The salt & pepper fish is the best I've ever had! Just as delicious was the eggplant and salt and pepper green beans. The honey walnut prawns were huge! Great service and friendly staff.

Yum! I pass this place multiple times and decided to give it a try! To start, if you use Apple Maps it will lead you in the middle of the plaza, just know it is right near safe way and to go left! Parking was a bit cramped, however easy to locate. I went on a Saturday around 5pm and they had a couple customers, pretty busy but still available tables out. They gave me a menu and the food choices were a bit expensive - possibly around $17-30 for a combo depending on what meat you choose. I believe it was about $20 to order shrimp. I ended up ordering the beef and broccoli combo. I had asked if I can order half fried rice and half chow mein, however this is not allowed. I got the chow mein and egg soup. The egg soup was so hot and delicious. Pretty flavorful and a good starting appetizer before my food was served. My combo plate came directly after. This food was great! I love when Chinese restaurants use a bit more five spice in their dishes, it makes the food more fragrant and that's exactly what this restaurant did! the chow mein was a bit bland and tasted of more jsut noodles but it is good for what it is. The egg roll was GREAT,came out hot and had a good amount of egg roll wrap and stuffing inside. I would definitely come here and try more!

I was in Roseville and wanted a quick dinner but not fast food or a burger. I saw this Chinese restaurant and decided to see what they had besides the usual stuff. Bambu Garden is located in the Safeway shopping center around the corner of the building of Safeway. A friend had introduced me to tomato beef chow mein Hong Kong style. I saw this was offered on the menu here. I was here with one other friend and he ordered the Singapore curry noodles. Prices here seemed a little high, like $17.50 for the tomato beef and $16 for the curry noodles. I guess it's just the price of going out these days. The food arrives and it's all hot and looking good. After posing the food for pics, we dig in. The Curry noodles are spiced just right, not too much curry but enough so it's not bland. The tomato beef dish was sauced well and the flavor had just the right vinegar kick. The noodles were super crispy. All in all a good quick dinner and a little leftover to go. I'd eat here again if I was in the area. This food is way better than what I can get in Red Bluff, that's for sure.

We grabbed takeout from Bambu Garden this weekend. This was our first experience with this restaurant, and it was most positive. Our ordered was Black Pepper Beef, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and White Rice. Everything was delicious and fortunately for us, the serving portions were very generous. The tender beef was sauteed in black pepper, yellow onion, bell pepper along with a pleasing sauce. Our Shrimp with Lobster Sauce included carrots, onion, water chestnuts and peas stir-fried in a wonderful sauce. I would order both again. Good value for your food dollar.

Ask the Community - Bambu Garden

Anyone know the max capacity of how many people can dine in the restaurant? Trying to find a restaurant to host a birthday party.

Do they offer party tray options?

Yes, I believe they do!

Are there Gluten-free options?

I did call and ask and they didn't seem to understand the question. However, they were able to explain that some meals do not have flower on it. Like stir fry but they do not have a gluten free section on their menu. You can also request it. Hope… Read more

Last week I was hanging out with an old friend and our furious Pokemon go playing left us seriously famished. She mentioned this spot was a favorite of hers and that they're accommodating so I said let's get it! And I could see clearly why it's a favorite. Accommodating they absolutely were. I felt comfortable ordering what I actually wanted. We chose a booth in the corner and got to work looking over the menu. Sometimes I worry about asking a lot of questions of the server, but I didn't need to worry at all here. Jenna told the server I was vegetarian and from then on she would tell me which things I could have or could be made to order vegetarian. They have a combo dinner plate that I was allowed to make substitutions on since there were no meatless options for the combo plate on the menu. Some places don't let you do this. I ordered the vegetable medley with tofu added, veggie chow mein as the side, plus egg roll, and a cup of wonton soup without the wontons. I know that sounds weird and I wouldn't have ordered it but we also wanted a big bowl of veggie hot n sour and the server offered to do a cup of the wonton soup broth with the greens "so I could try it." (Jenna also had said I must try it and I have trusted her with my life since 2002.) When I say this alone was fantastic I'm not lying. The broth was so delicious. (Spinach and green onions were also in there soaking up the broth.) So too was the hot n sour soup. Yummmm. They won't give you a cup of it without meat but they'll make you a big bowl to order without so that's cool. My tofu and mixed vegetables was fire. The tofu wasn't too soft, and they had bamboo and water chestnuts in the medley, my favorites. Plus mushrooms and broccoli. Not as excited for squash and carrots but they hold flavors well so. I never know what I'm getting with the mixed veggies at Chinese food spots, so it's always a fun surprise to see. Don't sleep on the chow mein. It was so flippin tasty. Best I've had in a long time. Reminded me of the chow mein at my old favorite, Twin Dragon in Auburn, where I suggested we go but we decided was too far. I'm so glad we came here instead though! This place had great friendly vibes. Lots of tables and booths, busy until around the time we were done which happened to be closing time whoops. We can talk for ages and we did order a lot of food! I had enough leftovers for two meals, easy. It's a nice restaurant too, very beautifully decorated. I highly recommend coming in here for some delicious Chinese food. That combo plate I was talking about was $16 for entree, side, egg roll, and a cup of soup. My tofu sub was a couple bucks on top of it. The big bowl of soup was $11 and enough for four people. Value! Taste! Ambiance! Friendship! Oh yeah. Vegan Corner: you would need to ask but our server was so friendly explaining what can be made to order that I imagine vegan is possible Parking: busy lot with some tight spaces and terrible drivers, so typical Roseville Bathroom Report: the tiniest bit janky, but clean is what we like

The restaurant is quite unassuming inside a strip mall. We pulled up and I wondered if I'd made the right choice for dinner. Let me tell you, I absolutely did. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed. We had a larger party and sat at a round table with a lazy Susan in the middle for easy sharing. The ambiance was cute and it was super clean. Now let me tell you about the food...I wish I had gotten the chance to take pictures but the devouring began immediately once it was served. We had house fried rice, chicken chow mien, sweet & sour chicken, king pao chicken, honey walnut shrimp, orange beef, and the crab cream cheese rangoons. Every single dish was cooked to perfection....To. Perfection. The prices were extremely reasonable, the portions were big, and the service was wonderful. There was a steady amount of people coming to dine in, and a ton of to go orders that were being picked up. I can foresee me picking up a delicious combination plate on my way home from work in the near future. Such a great experience and I'm grateful for the Tik Tok video that guided me here! We've officially found our new favorite Chinese restaurant.

Since it was our first time, we ordered a bunch of items to try. The pan-fried pork buns: were a highlight! Crispy on the bottom, soft on top, and filled with a clean, juicy soup that didn't have that heavy ginger taste. The soup dumplings xlbs had perfect, delicate skins and were incredibly juicy; the classic pork and the crab & pork were my favorites. The pork xlb had tender meat and was juicy, flavor was clean, the crab one is definitely for the seafood lovers, it has a nice SF umaminess too like a crab roe fishball lol. Other standouts included the spicy wontons in a great chili oil sauce and the truffle Angus beef fried rice, which featured surprisingly tender beef and a subtle, well-balanced truffle flavor. For dessert, the chocolate xlb, was excellent and tasted just like a strawberry Nutella crepe, though the matcha version was a bit too concentrated and bitter for my liking. Overall, the food came out quickly, the staff was friendly, and the service was great. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

unfortunately, Din Tai Fung has kinda ruined all other restaurants that serve XLBs for me…read more I dropped by Uncle Dumpling for lunch on a Saturday. There's a nice parking lot and, the collection of restaurants/stores in this little plaza give a nice vibe. There isn't a ton of seating inside; you kinda get an idea from some of the various Yelp pics.... and, there are a couple tables outside as well. The Food: - Pork Xiao Long Bao: this was fine...... I guess it's about as good as my memory of Journey to the Dumpling. Honestly, I'd say it's in the ballpark of goodness as the frozen Mila XLBs you can buy at Costco. again, Din Tai Fung has kinda ruined XLBs everywhere else I've gone since no one else comes close. - Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao: this had an odd tanginess to it.. like there was a bit of kimchi in it or something... I didn't care for it (and, I do happen to love kimchi).. and, it wasn't very spicy either. pass on this one. - Spicy Wonton: this was probably the best thing I had here. it was fine. not particularly spicy. and a bit salty. but, it was fine. - Pan-Fried Juicy Pork Buns: I think the filling in this is the same as the XLBs... you just get it in a pan-fried bun instead. I think I actually preferred the regular XLBs bc the larger size of this thing made it kinda hard to eat. - Garlic Noodle: I don't know what I was expecting here... and, I know I shouldn't expect Crustacean (just like I shouldn't expect Din Tai Fung) bc this certainly wasn't anything like Crustacean. These were okay.... the flavor of oyster sauce dominated my palate in an unpleasant way. - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings: these were okay. they ask if you want them spicy or mild. I got mine mild, but I probably should've gotten it spicy. The outside was nice and crispy, but the wing itself was kinda bland despite being covered with chopped garlic. Other things: - The food comes out fairly quickly & scalding hot..... so, don't burn your mouth! - I'd never really thought about it before, but every place that serves XLBs should also have spoons with flat bottoms; this place does not have flat-bottomed spoons. I like to rest my XLBs in my soup spoon while it cools, and since these spoons had rounded bottoms, my dumpling was always kinda lying sideways. - There's only one single-room unisex bathroom in the back, which is probably fine for the size of the restaurant; though, I did get stuck waiting behind a couple people when I needed to use it. so, I guess if you're not an XLB snob like myself & find Journey to the Dumpling and frozen Mila XLBs to be fantastic, then you may like this place quite a bit.... but I was rather disappointed....

Time for Dim Sum...because apparently every time I watch Crazy Rich Asians, my stomach turns into a…read moredramatic main character and demands dumplings immediately. Normally, I hit up Yue Huang, but lately it's been giving "long wait, mild heartbreak." So I decided to branch out and found this hidden gem in Granite Bay...and let me tell you...BEST decision. You walk in and BAM!!!! Old school Chinese restaurant vibes. Red booths, classic decor, slightly run down in that "if these walls could talk, they'd recommend everything on the menu" kind of way. And if you know, you KNOW...that's when the food is about to slap. We came with a mission (aka hungry and slightly unhinged) and ordered: baked BBQ pork buns, shumai, har gow, shrimp rice rolls, pineapple baked custard buns, fried shrimp balls, and soup dumplings. Basically, if it could be steamed, fried, or stuffed...we said yes. It's clearly family run, which I love. Mom is running the show like a boss, kids are hustling, and since it was Mother's Day...CHAOS. Delicious chaos. Food flying out, servers holding trays of dumplings like treasures, stopping at your table and you're like "YES, THIS IS MY MOMENT"...and then they walk away to another table. Emotional rollercoaster. So many "Ooooh yay!" followed by "Ohhh man..." But honestly? It just built the suspense. Then OUR food arrived...and our eyes went WIDE. These dumplings are HUGE. Like, "one bite? absolutely not" huge. The BBQ pork buns were soft, fluffy, slightly sweet clouds of happiness. Har gow and shrimp rice rolls were perfectly steamed (no soggy sadness here ). Now, because it was busy, the shrimp had a bit of a split personality...some bites were perfectly snappy and delicious, others were just a little overcooked. Not tragic, just not living their absolute best life. But overall? Everything was GOOD. And then the check came...about $60 for ALL that food. I almost checked it twice like, "Ma'am...are you sure you charged me correctly?" Because that is a STEAL. What really got me though was the family. You could see the hustle, the stress, the love...all happening in real time. Even in the chaos, they were kind, smiling, and apologizing for the wait. That kind of heart hits different. Final verdict: great food, great value, and a whole lot of love. I'll definitely be back to try more of their main dishes. Until next dumpling craving...
