It's been a chilly couple of days. I wanted to have some comfort food to fill my tummy and make me warm. Hubby and I can say this was a first class experience. Greeted with a smile and a friendly face, we sat down and started talking about the choices on the menu. House Special Pho did not disappoint!!! Fresh mint, sliced jalapeños and fresh bean sprouts were plated beautifully. Fried tofu was perfect. Dipping sauces were amazing. We will definitely be back to try some more dishes. read more

I was craving pho and read reviews to find a pho restaurant. Thankful for Google maps. I probably would have never tried this place because it's in a shopping center I don't go to. The restaurant is small and clean. The cashier was very attentive and provided recommendations. I ordered pho and vegetable egg rolls to-go. I ordered a dac biet/special large size for takeout and it was packed well and enough for 2 meals. The egg rolls were good, but not the best I've had. Little restaurant to get pho.. good price, good food, quick service. We always get pho and egg rolls only there, so can't comment about other foods. My son likes the pho the best here for Corona area , because it's tasty and they give good amount of meat (we like to order with rare meat). The egg rolls are yummy too!! I was confused when I first walked in. Do I seat myself? Or do I wait to get seated. Nobody stopped me as I continued to awkwardly walk and choose my destination, a booth! It's a tiny restaurant, that's probably why it's called Xpress. He was behind the counter (at least I think he was) and she was cleaning a table, but for some reason they both blended in. I said hi to her and she just looked at me with a blank face, so I just dismount like a gymnast and sat. Awkard silence. Shortly after seating, my menu was delivered to me with little or no communication by him. From what I experienced from other Asian restaurants, communication is famished. I wasn't surprised. After a few minutes he came to my table and took my order - Vermicelli with pork, shrimp and egg roll, and my drink, Thai iced tea of course. As I wait for my food, more guest walk in. Dads, moms, sons, daughters and babies. Isn't it bed time? I did notice he was interacting with one particular family, they probably come for pho quite often. He was really good to them, and they were really good to him, and that was pleasant to see. I didn't wait too long for my order. The bowl was pretty big. (Heavy breathing). I was expecting a smaller bowl. I was getting excited for this... I see the noodles, the pork, the eggroll... and then I saw the shrimp *that "Price is Right sound when you lose"*. For such a large bowl there was only 2 shrimp. Not even a skewer amount. Everything else was fine. Oh well. Always gotta make the best of it. Like a ninja, I dump the sauce and mix it around with my chopsticks. Take the first bite.....*question mark*. I'm waiting for something to happen. Butterflies? A choir singing? Pure joy? Hmmm ok let's add some srirachacha and hoisen sauce. I would've liked more sauce but he never checked up on me to see how I was doing. Okay, the taste was there, but it's not something I'm dying to come back to. The pork was good, the eggroll was great and the shrimp - whomp whomp. The Thai iced tea was a little off for me, but not bad either. Overall, a little bland for me, but maybe not for some others. 3/5 stars from me, which is not bad. Guest service could be pumped up a notch. I did like what I saw with other guest. Deliver the same guest service with each and every guest that walks through that door. I feel bad writing a bad review for this place because I think this is a small family owned restaurant and they are very polite and friendly. But I have to be honest... service was slow and food average. Usually pho comes very quickly but it took a very long time. We also ordered spring rolls, which came after we got our pho even though it's a starter. And the coconut juice we ordered came after that, when we were halfway done with our meal already. The pho was average. The spring rolls were not good to me. It was not really grilled pork as stated in the menu but more like boiled pork strips. The coconut juice was the best thing we ordered. Tasted fresh and the meat was soft. They have an "A" health rating, so that's good but the slow service and some of the food items could be improved. read more

Was super excited to try this place out, but was very disappointed. I ordered take out and the broth was warm not hot at all. When I mixed my broth with the meat I noticed one of the meats wasn't cooked i pulled it out of the bowl and it was raw in Saran Wrap. There was a long piece of skin which looked like a noodle. The regular size is quite generous. * Clean and friendly: I like their modern interior and friendly staff. The hostess is very sweet and friendly as is the grandma who came out with my pho. * Pricing for pho and other dishes are comparable to most pho shops. * Pho broth: It's pretty good on it's own; no need to add in hoisin sauce or sriracha. Nay: * Meat to noodle ratio: I just wished I had a little bit more rare steak in my pho tai. * Kinda bummed that they use a bolillo (Mexican roll) in their banh mi. The bread is my favorite part of it (usually a French baguette). Notes: * $10 minimum for debit and credit cards. Pho is a comfort food in my family. Especially when one of us is sick, there is nothing better. We've been looking for the ultimate pho restaurant close to us. Yelp led us here. My first impression was mixed when we walked into this tiny storefront in a Corona strip mall not too far from downtown. Attractive. In a cute sort of way. Clean, yeah smells like it, but missing the food aromas. I want to smell garlic or meat cooking, or something like that. Interesting small menu. Had the kind of things I liked. Pho, vermicelli and egg noodle dishes, appetizers, Vietnamese sandwiches, typical Vietnamese tea and coffee drinks, fruit juices and boba. Parking - limited directly in front of the restaurant, but several rows away, plenty of parking. Not a problem. Strange layout inside. I was turned off by the table arrangement. They did have a few booths, some high tables with stools, and some round (regular height) tables that seemed to create some chaos, they did not fit well in the remainder of the space. However, that, in itself, is not enough to sway me one way or the other, just annoying. First we tried the egg rolls appetizer. A thin flour wrapper is stuffed with noodle and meat, fried, and comes with a plateful of crisp lettuce, mint, basil, and the traditional seasoned fish sauce for dipping. Four to an order. Delicious. There were three of us today, so we got to sample 3 entrees, too. A vermicelli dish that is similar to salad - a bowlful with grilled pork and shrimp, cucumber, lettuce, ground toasted peanuts, and surely more, I just can't remember. Then, dump an entire dish of sauce (made of fish sauce, lime and sugar) on it like I do, and you are in business. Very healthy, very tasty. Stir-fried rice noodle with chicken and vegetables. Huge platter of food, lots to eat, much to bring home. Delicious sauce but I wanted more soy sauce (I am a salt addict). The chicken pieces were generous but slightly overcooked. It was still good, but I would like to try something else before ordering this again. Raw beef Pho. You can choose from 4 different sizes for any type of pho, including one humongous size that costs $25. This must be enough to feed a family of 10. Anyway, then you get to play with your food, adding the raw vegetables and jalapenos offered on a side plate. Nice broth to start with. Mango smoothee. Made with fresh mango. You can taste it. No phony syrups. While I have had better food overall, I am not discounting this fairly new restaurant. The owner is wonderful, friendly and excited to share her foods. I think she needs to be encouraged, so you should give it a try. My overall first impression is actually a 3.5 star and I would definitely return. This is an excellent choice for a fast lunch, or lunch/dinner to go. Prices are quite reasonable. read more

It's like your mom's cooking... You will never find anybody that makes it better. Broth is delicious, they use great meats, lots of fresh veggies, they have glass noodles, amazing egg rolls, spring rolls, Boba is killer... Etc I seriously have stopped getting pho at other places because I'm always disappointed. It's a combination of the broth, the meats, the satay, the fresh veggies, and the owner. This place is greedy when it comes to the Phó. I came two days in a row and ordered the house special. There is hardly any meat and they literally give you one piece of tendon (both days). I added meat balls and they charged me $4.00 for a meatball and a half. They cut it into six pieces as if I wouldn't notice, c'mon man. I guess I'll stick to my main Phó restaurant in Ontario called Phó Island. At least they are not greedy with the portions and it's way more flavorful. Don't get me wrong, the phó is good but it's a total ripoff. I'll never come here again based on the how greedy they are. Add meatball to your phó and you're looking at close to $16.00.
