I grew up in a family Chinese restaurant, so I'm very picky with my Asian foods. This restaurant was our go to place for pancit and lumpia for many years. We were craving it so we came to our favorite Chinese fast food restaurant, but saw the huge sign that said, "Under New Management". We were devastated because we've been coming to this restaurant for so long and they had the best pancit and lumpia for a Chinese fast food place. Since we were there, we decided to try them out. They did change up the inside. There are plenty of tables to sit and eat there. They have a refrigerator for can drinks. It was empty when we got there which was about an hour before closing, and all their hot food items were almost all out which was fine since we were going to order off the menu. It's not listed up on the menu, but they do offer pancit and lumpia when I asked them. There was one person working the front and I saw about three people in the kitchen. The lady who takes your order and packs your food lacks customer service skills. She told us the cook made our pancit with the wrong noodles, but it's still good, so she threw in two egg rolls in the bag to make up for it, and gave us our bag. She left and helped the next guests. I'm sorry, what? Didn't even ask if that was okay or if I wanted to wait for the cook to fix it. When we got home and opened the food, both noodles looked the same and the flavor wasn't even there. The lumpia looked liked little fingers which are totally different than the ones from the previous owners, and it lacked flavor. We will definitely not be going back, and are so disappointed we lost another good Chinese fast food place that serves Filipino food.

I had already discounted the restaurant based on the name thinking it would be your run of the mill $1 greasy Chinese food. A quick yelp search helped sway my vote when I saw the Filipino portion of the menu. The kids chose chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, bbq pork, teriyaki chicken, veggie egg rolls, and an order of lechon. The lechon comes in one size for $18.99; the woman was nice and brought a large container brimming & piping hot to our table. Crunchy, meaty and delicious...needed a little salt but all in all I loved it! The bbq pork and teriyaki chicken was a little lean and still very tasty. Prices are more than reasonable & the staff was very nice. Will be back if I'm in the area. Glad to support the Lechon! ;)

They are known for their "Manila Boy Chicken" (Fried Chicken) - and it does taste crispy and fried; however, my personal favorite is their Dinuguan (Pork Blood Stew). They make this with lean and fatty pork to give an unctuous mouthfeel - what I feel makes the best Dinuguan. Aside from the texture, the stew is smooth and not clumpy. And the taste leans toward a vinegar flavor, which is perfection for this dish. Top it over a bed of steamed jasmine or Japanese rice, and it is top notch! Another item I like here is their Deep Fried Bangus (Milkfish). The Bangus is split half, deboned of its main vertebrae, laid flat, and deep fried til "GBD" (golden brown and delicious)! It comes with a side of sawsawan (dipping sauce), kamatis (tomato and onion salad), and grilled Talong (eggplant). I've ordered their Pancit Bihon (Noodles made with Rice Sticks) but, because it's topped with shrimp, I have to skip on tasting this. It does look and smell delicious. Manila Grill is a small turo-turo shop (select your food from steamed tables) that also offers a display case of Filipino dessert and pickled papaya (atsara/atchara). They also have some packaged snacks and other products for purchase. The owner was very personable and friendly. Service was a little slow but, to be fair, it was cooked to order. If you're in a rush, come back maybe off-peak hours. Overall, the food here is homestyle Filipino cooking. I hope to be back again and try other dishes.

There are a handful of small patio tables inside the store, but don't expect anything comfortable. Also, don't expect ambiance unless you get a kick over watching little old Asian ladies who can barely peer over the tops of their shopping carts as they dodge their way around their large American counterparts. Dangerous maneuvers, I am warning you, but a real kick to watch. There are a modest number of hot food choices that rotate each day. The foods are typical Filipino fare, inexpensive, and decent. Admittedly, some dishes look more tantalizing than others, and some can be a turn-off, greasy, but we were pleasantly surprised too. Simply choose with care. The skewered bbq meat is really tasty. And of course, you always get rice. Hey, this is Filipino here! Our primary reason for patronizing this tiny eatery is because they carry whole Chinese hanging ducks. In the past, we have had to resign ourselves to either going to the Asian deli/markets of Orange County or LA County to find this delectable dish, as there is no other market (that I can think of) in the IE that carries hanging duck, with the exception of the other hot deli at the 99 Ranch Market in Chino Hills (and I am not so sure they care to be identified with the IE anyway). I am delighted that we can indulge in that special meaty goodness when the craving hits, and we don't have to arrange a special day trip to get it. It is good! Cheap, quick, good tasting fare. Perfect for taking home, the food here is a good alternative for those nights you don't wish to cook and you are looking for something less common. An adventure!

Berkeley arrived early with a giant smoker in tow, and proceeded to prepare an amazing barbeque, served buffet style by his professional staff. At the end, Berkeley's team made sure everything was set out so we could continue to nibble throughout the day. The food was incredible!! On Berkeley's recommendation, our entrees included juicy lemon pepper chicken breast, sliced for ease of serving, thick pieces of high quality, smoked salmon, and the most flavorful rosemary tri-tip packed in a dry rub Berkeley credits to his father. Side dishes included, bow tie macaroni and cheese oozing with a cheese blend that complimented the entrees, brightly colored smoked vegetables, and "to die for" mashed potatoes. Salad, with Berkeley's special dressing, and fluffy rolls rounded out the menu. Every single dish was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and made with top-tier ingredients. Portions were generous, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how good everything was. Don't forget to bring some "to-go" containers because your guests will be excited to take some home with them. I researched several BBQ caterers, including popular chain stores. Although I could have found a less expensive option, I could not have found anything approaching the quality, quantity, and service of Berkeley's Backyard Barbeque. So, if you're looking for a caterer who delivers not just amazing food, but a great overall experience, I highly recommend Berkeley's Backyard Barbecue. I arrived at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) on Saturday (around 9:45AM). Parking is easy. There's a wide private parking lot. Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) includes an area to purchase prepackaged snacks (like a convenience store) and a counter (with sizzling food on hot trays). The ordering process is fast since customers just point at precooked items - similar to Panda Express. Staff is cordial and friendly. An elderly staff member would place the selected food in a container. Cashier (receipt says Maricar) is also hardworking and professional. Staff speaks Tagalog and English. Despite the long line of customers, the process flowed quickly. The food is fairly good. The Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) comes with Garlic Fried Rice and Fried Egg. The three big Longanisa (aka: Sausage) came very plump, juicy, and wet. The Fried Egg tasted clean & fresh. Unfortunately, I hated the Garlic Fried Rice. It tasted dry, coarse, and chewy. That rice was left out for too long. Concerning the Palabok (16oz - $14.99), this dish came flavorful but very cold. Regardless, I enjoyed its wet and zesty sauce. I liked how its noodles felt soft and moist. And I enjoyed the powdered Chicharon (aka: crushed deep fried pork) which added a comforting, crisp texture. The shrimps had a nice chew, but they tasted somewhat rubbery. Concerning ambiance, Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) is surprisingly enchanting. I appreciated the dining area's floral decorations & glittering lights. The location is also relatively clean. Some tables had small bits of crumbs, but the floors were very well-swept. There's even an outside sink for cleanliness near the dining room. Unfortunately, the restroom is out-of-order. Still, I appreciated how the interior felt airy and well-ventilated. Overall, I had a good experience at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills). Although some options didn't taste the freshest, the food captured some enjoyable flavors & textures. It's a "not-bad" location. 4.3 out of 5
