This is my regular Pho Place. One, it's the closest to my house. Two, the food is pretty good. Three, they give you the option of paying $1 more for either extra meet or extra noodles and you've got enough to share a bowl between two people. The service here has always been friendly. Sometimes if you come in at busy time, the food comes out slower and if you're someone who gets "hangry" like me, that's not fun. But when you catch them at the right time, the overall experience is happy employees serving you good food that came out at a reasonable time. My boyfriend has recently adopted the practice of calling ahead to tell them our order and then walking in, sitting down, and getting served right away. Maybe a weird practice, but it's really been super helpful. I'm not a Pho connoisseur but I also know when to tell it's bad or good Pho. I think this Pho is on the better end that I've tried here in Utah. I say that because the broth is really good, I don't get an overwhelming amount of grease, and the portion is generous enough. One of my biggest pet peeves is paying an expensive price for not enough food. With that said, I wouldn't recommend getting the spring rolls. I think they're overpriced for a small amount. Pho Plus is my go-to when it comes to Pho in the Provo/Orem area. I'm from Las Vegas so I think that I'm pretty used to great Pho and I would say Pho Plus holds its ground. Always go for beef in your pho and you'll be satisfied. Don't forget to add the accoutrements. They take the pho up a notch for sure. Also, don't be afraid to try a boba smoothie. As soon as you get in, the smell of the pho is amazing but too bad, the smell doesn't tantamount the taste of their broth/pho. Food : we got two kinds of pho (meatballs and the one that came with all the meat), regular size and they are fairly decent portion wise. But the broth is what makes the pho, in my opinion, and this place just doesn't cut it. It's too watered down, you will need to put lime and use their condiments to doctor the taste. I don't normally upgrade a place because it's located in Utah county, but it's so close to a 4 in quality I've got to do it. Solid Pho and nice atmosphere. The tendon pho is excellent. If you've never tried it before -- do it. That beef you're going with is going to end up tough. The tendon never will, yet it will have beef flavor. You'll never go back. The tripe was a little tripey. When it's braised too long the offal flavors comes out. That happened here. I suppose I should know not to get offal. In Utah County, probably not enough people order it so it gets old. There are places on Redwood Road that don't have that problem. Other than that, it's been all good. There is better around then this. Pros: Service was good, and quick. We had shrimp wontons within less than 5 minutes of our order. They filled out water cups 6 times while we were there. Their broth it really good. Cons: $7 for shimp wontons and they had stuck shimp with trail on partway into the empty wonton. So when I take the tail off it comes out, ruined the experience. Also one of the shrimp my wife ate was cold. (That's "ok" for they come fully cooked) Microwave, could hear the beeping of a microwave throughout dinner. I tried the steak and brisket pho today. I ordered the regular size because last time I came and ordered the large size and it compares to a bucket. The regular size was more than enough. Next time I think I will just order the brisket because it was large chunks of meat and very flavorful. Overall the taste is very flavorful and fresh. It's nice to get good in Utah county that doesn't taste processed or like sweet pork. The service is good , but they only have one server. He never refilled our drinks though. I'm a Pho Pho-natic and have been waiting for months for this place to open. Took the family last night and my only disappointment was I don't think any of the workers were Vietnamese (not sure about the cooks). My wife and I had the Pho and my boys had the BBQ pork. The food was terrific! They were super busy and the service, while friendly was kinda slow. Anyway I'm so glad we have a place to get a great bowl of Pho here in Orem. I was heading to get me some Thai food... when I happened to drive by this place... so I made a U turn and pulled in. First customer of the day! The inside was nice, dark colored tables... in a way, I felt like I was in a Japanese restaurant... the layout and design of it made me feel like this... I got my table looked over the menu... i ordered the shrimp summer roll (their version of fresh spring roll) and the large order of Pho. Within five minutes, I got my summer roll. It was okay, personally, I would not order this again... the roll mad more noodles and vegetables then shrimp... in addition, it had some cooked chicken inside... it didn't mention this on the menu... I was expecting a shrimp summer roll... I was surprised at the size of the large bow (which is $2 more then the regular)... so if you go, order the regular size. The broth was more darker then pho's in Los Angeles area, but after putting the bean sprouts and what I thought was basil, it gave more flavor... overall, the pho was decent, so even though I like it, I can't give more then 3 stars for it... I usually get the brisket pho, but today I tried the BBQ chicken rice plate. My favorite part was the crispy spring roll. I did feel a little out of place though because all four of the people I was with got pho. There's usually only one person waiting on tables, so if you go when it's busy, it can take a little bit. But don't worry, it's worth the wait. The regular size pho is pretty hearty and will most likely fill you up unless you haven't eaten for a week. The large is just out of control big. We come to Pho plus a lot and have had many great experiences. The food was great however the service today was lacking. We understood that they were close to closing however there was still 30 minutes and many other tables were being seated. The first person who attended us was kind (she had long brown hair). The server however was a bit hostile (dude working Saturday night with tattoos). Right as it hit 9 pm, he reached over one of my friends to turn off the open sign. We lived in the Bay Area for a while and we were truly shocked to find such great Pho here in Utah! Considering we've become somewhat snobbish about sub-par Pho. hah! This is the real deal. The broth you want to drink, the noodles are cooked perfectly and it comes out simmering hot. I got the steak regular sized bowl and it was absolutely delicious. I normally don't finish, but this time I did. My husband has the steak and brisket and it was also really delicious. My husband also tried their mango boba smoothie, which was really tasty. As with most Pho places we've tried. The decorations are a little funky, the restaurant is small and squishy and when you place your order you aren't 100% sure you're going to get what you asked for. They did get our order right though (especially considering we had 7 people at our table), the restaurant is very clean, and the service was really great. It's just part of the style and should be appreciated along with the food. Okay best for last, the price. This place is cheap. I think we paid like $20 for both of our dinners, plus my husband's drink. Overall, not expensive. I love places like this where afterward you are thinking, "when should we go back?" Tomorrow. Very disappointed with this place. Right when we walked in, it was absolutely freezing. We continued to freeze the entire time. When we got there, there was only one other table being used, so we figured things would be pretty quick. It took so long for us to get get water, then we finally got it and then got our food. We asked for a shaker to make our food spicy and they didn't bring it until we were almost done with our entire meal. We never got refills on our water, and our waiter never came back the entire time we were eating! And there was almost nobody in the restaurant so we were very confused. Finally when we were done eating, we waited 15 minutes for our check and our waiter didn't come out. When he finally did, he assisted the other table and we had to embarrassingly almost shout at him to get his attention because he was running back to the back again. He seemed agitated like we were "bugging him." On top of the rude service the pho tasted like noodles and water. No flavor to the broth and downright disappointing. We did however get the gyoza and the popping bubble tea that were both quite good. All in all I would not recommend. I've eaten at about every Vietnamese restaurant in Utah. I've also been to Vietnam, so I have a good idea of what's legit. I don't recommend Phô Plus. Their Bahn Mi sandwiches are no good. Go to Oh Mai in SLC for that. The Bun (noodle bowl) I had last time was not good. The Phô is not remarkable. And the last time I came the the two waitresses were playing explicit music loud enough I had a hard time holding a conversation at the table. I've had mediocre/bad experiences the three times I have come here. Go to Noodle King for much better Vietnamese food in Provo - go to Salt Lake for even better Vietnamese. read more

The building is nothing remarkable on the outside, but the interior immediately grabs your attention with a modern, warm, inviting feel - matched well by the aroma of the authentic dishes. The Pho is amazing. $6.95 buys an enormous bowl of soup that fills you nicely. The meat was tender, the sprouts and basil fresh, and the service relatively fast. They had run out of coke, so I had to settle with a diet coke, but the inconvenience paled to the magnificence of the meal. If you're hungry for soup, forget the canned stuff and treat yourself to Pho Plus. You'll leave satisfied and just a bit more cultured. read more

This is a TINY mom-and-pop Pho shop located on Orem's State Street. Watch for the sign, because you'll miss it easily if you blink. We walked in on a busy Friday evening with no tables available. Greeted by who we believe was the owner/manager, we were told there would be a 5-10 minute wait. However, we were seated almost immediately thereafter at a table for two. VERY friendly service here - he apologized for the wait, twice. Orders were taken and food delivered quickly, and with a smile. Anything we asked for appeared before we knew it. The food was great, too. I ordered Pho Ga, and Hubby ordered Summer Rolls (because he wasn't hungry, and came here solely for me because I was feeling under the weather...which requires Pho). Both were very tasty. Great peanut sauce with the rolls, but a skimpy amount. The regular size Pho, however, came in a huge bowl with the standard accoutrements alongside: bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, a couple of basil leaves, and lime wedges. They brought hoisin and sriracha to the table with the food. No forks here, just chopsticks and that awkward flat-bottomed soup scoop-spoon'ish thingy. The Pho broth was delightful & flavorful; not too heavy or light with anything. Nice aroma, perfectly balanced. Not the best Pho I've ever eaten, but very tasty. Standard pricing for Pho - $6.95 for the regular, $8.95 for the large. A note for those who may avoid Asian restos because of the typically bad music selections - they play real music here. In my quest to conquer as many pho restaurants along the Wasatch Front, I ventured in here one night to see what Utah County had to offer. Quite impressive, Utah County. This place was quite easy to find (right on State Street) and looks totally different on the inside than what you'd expect from the outside. The interior decor is very clean, modern and cool. But who cares if the food is bad, right? Well, here it was actually quite good. My boyfriend and I started with the spring rolls, which were fresh and tasty. The peanut sauce was a bit different than some other places. "Thicker" was the word that came to mind; I wish I could be more descriptive. Though there are other things on the menu. My boyfriend got steak in his (he's a first timer; gotta start 'em slow...) and I got steak, brisket, and flank in mine (okay, not that much more adventurous). We were both quite satisfied with our dishes. The broth was quite good here, though a bit saltier in taste than most other pho restaurants I've been to (not good or bad, just different). It also looked like some of my brisket had disintegrated in the bowl. A little too tender, maybe? But with all that being said, the flavor was great. I've been past here so many times waiting for them to open I was surprised to see they finally did and stopped in. I'm not a Pho fanatic so I may not be an expert but I thought it was really good. The focus is obviously Pho and half the menu were soup or broth based dishes, but there were some other various Vietnamese and Asian dishes available too. Including Shabu-Shabu $29.95 for two people, even though it's a Japanese dish it's cool to find local places that will do it. And if the Pho was any guide these guys make good broth and use good ingredients. Speaking of which the Pho I got was great, I can only relate to Japanese Ramen in Japan since that's the only time I was in Asia for "Authentic" cuisine. The broth is light but flavorful and not overly salty. If you're used to noodles in a broth that consists of emptying a dry packet into hot water this is completely different, like day and night. The noodles were thin and plentiful. And best of all the ingredients were fresh, the side dish was stacked with a pile of crisp sprouts (I hate it when they're wilted and soft), fragrant basil, lime wedges, and hot peppers. I got the steak Pho and there was a good amount of thin sliced, well flavored beef in the bowl. Not so much so that it was like eating beef stew, and not so little that finding a piece of meat was like sifting for gold. The staff was very attentive (I sat at the bar), and its a good sign when the owner or chef come out front to ask if you're enjoying your meal and discuss the ingredients that go into the broth. Plus the atmosphere inside is really nice. It's not like a soup kitchen with church chairs and cheap burger joint tables. The inside was well designed and well decorated for such a small location. It's the kind of place it's fun to just come in for a good bowl of noodles for lunch on a slow day. I'm definitely coming back here and recommend others check it out too. I would give it 5 stars but it's hard to justify that on a $6 bowl of noodles (I don't want to give away 5 stars like candy). Best Vietnamese Pho in the Utah Valley Pho Plus Noodle House is the only Vietnamese food restaurant located in the Utah Valley city of Orem, and the closest one outside of Salt Lake City. The menu options are limited to a variety of Pho with different meats, Vermicelli Rice Noodles, Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Fried Spring Rolls (Egg Rolls), and a few other options. The prices for the bowl of Pho is decent, $6.95 for regular and $8.95 for large. The regular is enough to satisfy most people because the noodles will expand and the broth will make you full. The hours are also limited. M-F Lunch 11AM-2:30PM and Dinner 4:30PM-8:30PM, Saturday 11AM-8:30PM and closed Sundays. I'm not 100% sure about this since I only glanced at the hours while walking in. I remember the odd hours reminding me of a typical Japanese dining restaurant hours. The food is pretty good. I've only tried the Pho. Will try the other options next time. I give this a 4 stars instead of 5 because of the limited noodle options (not having the other varieties of Vietnamese noodles, even though I know it's a Pho restaurant), not having the 5 courses of beef and the traditional Vietnamese desserts, Che. The owners are a Korean family and they have some Vietnamese friends to help with input. I made a few suggestions for the owners and he assured me he will try to include those options later down the road. Today was the first day of business, Saturday, August 29, 2009 and we were among the first guests to dine there. You should give this place a try if you live in the vicinity and are not in the mood to drive to downtown SLC. Pho is great for the dehydration you feel after a long night of drinking!
