This is the first time I have gotten something other than pho and it didn't disappoint. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, the pork skin was tender, and the shrimp and egg cakes both hit the spot. They are fast and efficient with their service! If you go on the weekends, you're likely to be 2-4 tables back on the list, but it usually flies by. The food is ready QUICKLY. Taking home a smaller container of broth than what you get if you ate there, with everything packed up, risking the spill on the drive home, only to probably have it sit on the counter for awhile before getting to dig in... not how I like to eat pho. ​So I ordered some takeout stir fry "chow mein" and pot stickers from Pho 999 in Reno NV, and this is the review of it. ​I ordered at 5:30pm on a Friday night, got my food at 5:45pm, and was able to eat it at 6:15pm so it was still reasonably warm. ​First, the pot stickers. They came with three different sauces, something I appreciated. Some bitter chili oil, sambal chili paste (I assume) and some kind of sweet and savory sauce I couldn't identify. Kinda akin to teriyaki but not cloying and sticky, purely liquid. Which I didn't mind at all, it was delicious. As were the pot stickers. A little crispy, tasty filling, perfectly seasoned as you could eat then by themselves. ​Now the combo stir fry with "chow mein" noodles, and shrimp and beef. The stir fry combo is fully customizable, something I like. Many different noodle options and three meat options. What I got did not appear to be what I ordered. ​To the average American, these are egg noodles. Flat, wide, soft, no char whatsoever, which not what you would expect from chow mein. Did I like them? They were ok. Is it what I pictured? No. But I've ordered chow mein at Pho places in the past, and got exactly what you expected chow mein to be. These were not. They were cooked well, salted adequately, and took to additional sauce well (I added the sweet/savory sauce from the pot stickers). ​The rest of the stir fry I ordered was good, though they included all three meats, chicken beef and shrimp. I didn't want chicken. Kinda leads me to believe the person cooking got confused, put the wrong stuff, and just kept cooking the same batch. ​The veggies were cooked perfectly and there was a good mix of them. There was a appropriate amount of meat, not excessive or under whelming. ​But that is how I was left feeling after eating at Pho 999, which makes me a bit sad. When I picked up the food everyone was really nice, polite, and welcoming. The dining area appeared clean. I had fully planned on going back and dining in So I could experience fresh pho in person. ​But, I have to judge my experience based off of what I asked for, and what I got. ​Pot stickers were a 5 out of 5. Definitely would order again. The fact you get ten of em for under ten bucks is really nice. ​The stir fry "chow mein"? 2.5. they weren't bad, but they weren't great. Just ok....and for $18, just ok is unacceptable. ​Final rating? A disappointing 3 out of 5. I hope when I go back to try the pho in person I get a better experience than I had today.

It's located inside a weird-looking interior strip mall that has a separate shared restroom with the rest of the businesses contained in the building. The restaurant staff wasn't too welcoming upon entry as we got seated and service was as warm and hospitable as the weather outside. We ordered a Calamari ($15.50) for appetizers, and we each got a Combination Pho ($18.50). I chose to change my noodles to Egg Noodles (which I typically do at other Pho places) and wifey opted for the Flat Noodles. (More commentary on this later). I know prices have gone significantly higher since the Pandemic and with the recent tariffs, jacked-up inflation and all other factors beyond our control, I typically don't bat an eye now with the cost of how much everything is worth nowadays....and expectedly so. The server didn't even mention that it was gonna cost us extra to change the Rice Noodle to our preference of noodle. Although I noticed it way after as it was stated on their menu (shame on us for not reading), it would have been nice if the server provided us with this info. As for the food, the Calamari was so-so and inconsistent. Some pieces were crispy and some pieces were soggy. The coating was very doughy and bland. They were also cut very thinly and lacked the snap. The Pho was basic and uneventful. But the worst part of the food was the garnishes. These were still soaked in water they there were literally dripping water on the sauce. Did they just grab them from a container, plopped them on a saucer and didn't even bother draining the water on a dry rack? You can see the pool of water left on the saucer plates. And I mentioned the warm service earlier. It was hard to flag down a server as they kept passing by us and almost felt like they were ignoring us even though we would wave and raise our hands as they delivered the food to our surrounding tables in an attempt to get their attention. They weren't wearing blinders, but it felt like they were. Also....don't get me started when patrons receive their orders first even though we placed our orders prior to their arrival. Yeah....I hate it when that happens. Lastly, let's backtrack on my commentary on the pricing. It was a sticker shock when we received the bill since I didn't realize it cost extra to replace the noodles (even though it's stated on the menu as I realized later on). It would have been nice if they server mentioned this, but service was lackluster from beginning to end.
