P24. Short Rib Pho (Noodle Soup)

Save your money -- do NOT eat here. Before ordering the P24 Short Ribs pho, I specifically asked the server if the meat was fall-off-the-bone and good quality. He told me it was. When the dish came out, the short ribs were extremely overcooked and basically inedible. The meat was tough, chewy, stuck to the bone, and clearly low quality. I brought this up and asked if there was anything they could do -- even offered to switch to a different meat and pay if needed -- but the server said there was nothing he could do and offered zero solutions. No attempt to fix the issue, no alternative, nothing. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience. Poor food quality and even worse customer service. I won't be coming back.

This place was referred to us by my husband's barber. We had the Pho Tai, pork eggrolls, grilled pork springrolls and Brazilian lemonade. Restaurant was clean and the staff were attentive. It was all delicious. I ordered a medium pho and honestly could have eaten the child's!! lol Everything was delicious, we definitely found our new pho place! Highly recommended!!

Chicken stir fried noodles - 9/10 - $16 Chicken egg rolls - 10/10 - $6 Beef fried rice - 8/10 - $20 Chicken pho - 7/10 - $15 Beef stir fried noodles - 7/10 - $20 Beef pho - 7/10 - $20 Tried this Halal pho spot after hearing a lot about it. To my surprise, their other items like the noodles and fried rice tasted better than their pho. My friends tried their chicken and beef phos and werent a fan because it lacked flavor. Overall this spot was decent.

Visited today during lunch and got the combination pho size medium and a pork manh mi. Both were really delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Tonight was our 2nd time dining here. The place is clean and the waitstaff is attentive. My husband and daughter had beef pho and they said it was really good. I had bun bo hue and it's legit. The flavors are spot on. I've never had meatballs in bun bo hue before but it was pretty good. I've tried bun bo hue at our restaurants around Houston and it's not as good as this place. The fried rice was good as well as the egg rolls. The last time we were here we had rice and pork chop and it was really good too. I highly recommend this place.

Overpriced. Average food. Great atmosphere/service. Pretty decent for Halal Viet Cuisine. This place is very clean. The servers are nice and makes sure you're good to go. There's a bunch of TV's around of the famous Viet food YouTuber, Viet Thao, giving his review of this place. Very fun and interesting to watch (and a great convo starter). They offer Halal options on a separate menu than the original. My friend said the food was pretty good but overpriced. Bun Bo Hue (3/5): The broth was extremely lacking. While there was plenty of meat, most of it was over-cooked and rubbery. I was really disappointed by the pork bone because it should be soft and melt in your mouth. If you're looking to eat traditional Vietnamese food, find your nearest mom and pop shop because it will be cheaper and more flavorful. For Halal, it pretty decent. Verdict: Hype is not worth it.

Bun Bo N1. Oh Yeah Hue Spicy Noodle Soup

Me and my husband both had the Bun Bo Hue Oh Yeah soup and this was easily the best bun Bo hue I've had in America. It felt just like the Bun Bo Hue back in Vietnam. This place feels authentic to the core. Hands down 10/10. We will be coming back.

H4. Chicken Egg Rolls (3). Outstanding!

Food is really good with specific focus on their pho and chicken egg rolls. Honestly, some of the best we have ever had and therefore the 4 stars. It is an easy 5 star restaurant if the service was not beyond horrific. We are not the first to complain about this. It boggles the mind. Why have outstanding food yet receive scathing reviews on service and not fix it. It will be the end of you. Trust us! Fire them all and retrain all your service staff. It is that bad! Potential to be a top pho restaurant. Not only in Katy but in Houston. Fix the front of your store and see your review improve dramatically.

on the hunt for good bun rieu west of houston. place is relatively clean inside. no issues finding parking. so what's weird is bun rieu isn't on the menu but if you ask they have it. the parties that came in after me also ordered it. first thing i noticed was the huge the serving was. it was loaded. quantity doesn't always mean quality but overall i very much enjoyed their bun rieu. they added shrimp in there which was new to me but hey who doesn't like shrimp. they used meatballs instead of cha too. but was good. the rieu was incredibly tender and lotsa crab. the broth was decent. my wife got bun bo hue and the broth was amazing. would come back here again if craving bun rieu and didn't want to drive to bellaire. it hit the spot and great value for your money

We came here with inlaws that know about the celebrity (?) that opened up this restaurant. Upon entering, the restaurant had a pretty outdated 90s vibe and the printed menus were also looked like they were the product of a home printer instead of a professionally printed product. The menu looked pretty standard compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. Pho, BBH, vermicelli dishes etc. The menu prices were about 40-50% higher than a Vietnamese restaurant in Bellaire. Pho and such were $15 instead of the usual $7-9. Same with the entire menu pretty much. The taste of all of the dishes were fine. I've had better pho and better bun bo hue in Houston at a lower price point. Service was pretty much; you order, we bring you food, we take your plates. Nothing extraordinary and for the price, this definitely wasn't worth it and there are much better options at a lower price point and at the same price point. I don't know who this celebrity is, but it kinda seems like a Vietnamese Guy Fieri opening a restaurant and hoping the hype carries it; I hope it does because the food isn't impressive at all.

This place delivered where it mattered most, especially with the highly reviewed appetizers. Probably one of my favorite drinks here was the Thai Green Tea. It has a really interesting flavor that stands out from regular Thai Tea -- more earthy, but not quite like matcha (we guessed there might be pandan in it). Just a heads up: it's definitely on the sweeter side. My partner and I actually let the ice melt a bit before continuing to drink it, which helped balance things out. I came back a second time and still loved it just as much. The dipping sauce felt like a truly authentic representation of Vietnamese cuisine. It was a lightly diluted fish sauce with spicy red pepper and plenty of garlic -- simple but really flavorful. I also appreciated that the table setup let you customize it to your taste. In my first experience here, we ordered the Bánh Xèo, Bánh Khọt, and Bánh Bột Chiên. I was hands down a huge fan of the ginormous Bánh Xèo -- crispy, flavorful, and just overall my favorite (though I'll admit I'm a little biased toward it already). Meanwhile, my boyfriend completely fell in love with the crunchy Bánh Khọt. That said, I did notice a slight graininess in the Bánh Khọt, which took away a few points for me. The Bánh Bột Chiên was solid and got a pass from us, but it wasn't our top pick -- mostly because we've had better versions elsewhere. Other worthy notes: the herbs were fresh and crisp, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing as well (though my boyfriend thought they could've been a bit more strongly pickled). Eating everything the traditional way -- wrapping it in lettuce with herbs -- made the whole experience even better. Honestly, I would come back just to order two Bánh Xèo. I actually came back a second time before posting this review, this time with my family. We ordered the Bắp Xào, Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc, and a simple rice dish. This visit was a bit different -- across the board, we all agreed the dishes leaned too salty this time around. I could also tell the staff was overwhelmed, with only two people handling both the front and the kitchen, so it was tough to get their attention at times. That said, the Bánh Xèo still held its ground. My parents were genuinely impressed by the size, and for me, it's still an absolute banger -- something I'd come back for again and again purely for flavor and value. The Bắp Xào really stood out to me in a nostalgic way. I loved the use of traditional Vietnamese corn, and the sautéed dried shrimp brought back memories of flavors from dishes I grew up eating, even if I couldn't quite pinpoint which one. While my mom thought it was too salty, I actually felt like it would pair perfectly with a bowl of plain white rice. I also tried some of my brother's Cơm Chiên Bò Lúc Lắc and found the beef to be tender and flavorful, though not particularly standout compared to other places. I've had very similar versions nearby, but it's still my brother's go-to -- though I suspect that might also be his way of loading up on protein. Overall, even with the inconsistency during the second visit, I still really enjoy Yummy Quan -- especially for the appetizers. It's a place I'd bring family and friends to try, and I'm still curious about more of the menu... but realistically, I could live life on Bánh Xèo alone. At the end, you also get to grab some guava candy, and for anyone who's never had these, don't forget to pick some up -- they're simply delectable!

We saw on the door that they're BYOB? Thai Green Tea (4.5/5): Really sweet but with some pretty unique grassy/herbal notes! (Pandan??) Would recommend if they can adjust the sweetness down a notch. We let the ice melt a bit and it made for a great palatte cleanser. Banh Xeo (4.5/5): Definitely one of their signature dishes. I read the reviews on how large it was and it was still shocking! See my hand for reference. It's crispy and delicious. Two downsides: Not enough protein, and not enough lettuce to make wraps with how big it is. But overall, definitely one of the best I've had outside of homemade. Banh Khot (4/5): These little flavor explosions are a perfect bite size and are also a signature dish. Would definitely recommend. A few of ours were light on the pork. Banh Bot Chien (3.5/5): I was dying to try this since there is really one famous spot for it. Their version is very good, but misses on the crispiness. The inside texture and pairing sauces and radish were all very good, it just needed a little more crisp. I love that they give extra garlic and spice and basically let you customize the intensity of your fish sauce to your preference. Paid with no issues via inKind at the counter. We definitely left stuffed and would come back!

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The curry was also really tasty and flavorful, just a little bit watery. Service/ambiance: Service was excellent and they gave us so much rice. The restaurant was dimly lit, giving it a nice ambiance for dinner or a date night.

Service was prompt and quasi friendly. I thought the broth was good despite having an overwhelming aroma of cinnamon. I requested for pho tuoi (fresh noodles) which are slightly bigger than the standard noodles they give you. However, I regretted this choice because many of my noodles were clumped together, distracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Additionally, I think there's a heavy usage of MSG in their broth because I felt loopy and very thirsty for water halfway through. Needless to say, I was only able to eat half of the generous serving. For those who are a fan of pho and appreciate generous portions, this place is definitely worth a visit. Their pho bowls are substantially larger than those I've encountered elsewhere, offering a potentially satisfying experience for the more voracious diner but for me, quantity is not enough of a reason to become a regular. At first it was just us and one other table, but not long after, more people started coming in, probably for lunch as well. The restaurant is pretty large, with both tables and booths, plus a big table for large groups. This is what we ordered: Combo Rolls This comes as a sampler with five different types of spring rolls. Regular spring rolls, nem nuong rolls (fermented grilled pork), grilled chicken, grilled pork, and shrimp only. I really liked this idea because it lets you try everything without having to order each roll separately. My favorite was the nem nuong roll. Bun Bo Hue I do not eat pork blood or pork loaf, so I substituted them with more tendon and beef meatballs. Because of that, I cannot really comment on how the pork tasted. The broth was okay but a little lacking in flavor. After I asked for shrimp paste, it tasted much better. Bo Kho (Beef Stew) This is my husband favorite dish, so he always orders it whenever a place has it. He ordered the one come with bread as dipping. He did not really like this one. It was not bad, but not great either. The flavor was missing, and the broth was more watered down than how he prefers it. Still, it is worth trying if you like beef stew. Overall, our experience was just okay. The service was fine, but the food did not leave a strong impression on us. We did not stay long since my husband had to get back to work. I would come back to try more dishes, especially pho. Since their name is Pho Guru, I feel like the pho might be better. My go-to order is the Bún Thịt Nướng (B2) -- the grilled pork is perfectly seasoned and cooked, the noodles are light, and the vegetables are incredibly fresh. I also love the garden rolls with pork or shrimp. What really sets them apart are the sauces: tangy, balanced, and flavorful without being overly sweet.
