Great comfort food in this time of uncertainty! I enjoy supporting this amazing local business through these tough Covid times.

This is the only Pho restaurant that we know of in Denver which offers chicken pho with chicken broth. All others only use beef or vegetable broth. Coming from Portland, OR, where there is a large Vietnamese community and where all places offer chicken broth, we are used to having Grrrrreat pho. Pho-natic is clean; the service friendly, and prices reasonable for pho in Denver. The chicken pho is rather bland, however. They only use white chicken breast and it has been rubbery on occasion. Yech. When combining pho with both white and dark meat and maybe a chicken bone here and there, that really brings out the flavors of chicken pho. The vegetable pho is just okay. Nothing unique. The other dishes on the menu and the rolls are very good and worth exploring. But we are chicken pho folk. Heh read more

Better places to eat, I'm sure. Visited on a work trip and landed on this place because of its convenience to the Convention Center. $40 for two bowls of noodles and two egg rolls....thank you, next. read more

booyah! A pho spot that's not on Federal? Pho-real? Pho sho! Seriously though, not only is this a lot closer to me (I can go during lunch, and grab something on my way home from work), the food rocks. Starting with the pho, the broth is a bit lighter and not as sweet as what I typically prefer (see Pho 95, Pho Duy), but still very flavorful. I usually get the pho dac biet (special with all slices of meat and beef parts) -- ya I'm vietnamese and grew up on this stuff, so I'm down. Still blown away by how much good, authentic pho exists in this town. Every spot will have it's own twist on the broth, and everyone will have their own particular preferences but Pho-natic definitely ranks high on the list for me. Add in the fact that it's way closer, and this place gets 5-stars in my book. Outside the pho, the bun (vermicelli), egg-rolls, and spring rolls are also amazing. I actually think they win in these categories vs Pho 95 and Pho Duy. And as others have mentioned, the staff is super friendly. I do agree that the place can be eerily quiet at times. read more

Amazing place. The staff is so friendly, nice and helpful. The food was great and it was not awkward or embarrassing trying to order because to be honest I can butcher any language/item menu even when it is in English. We got the egg rolls, two orders of Pho (chicken then tripe, steak), and the Combo noodle bowl - ALL DELICIOUS. They serve Lollicup Boba teas there which are so tasty. It's clean, bright, simple, and the interior is nicely designed. I enjoyed the view of the Capitol Building while we ate not to mention it's a stone's throw from our house. No need to drive over to Federal anymore for great Pho - Thanks Pho'natic! read more

We love this place. There are probably better options down on S. Federal, but if you live downtown and want something close, Pho-natic is the way to go. Super reliable, tasty Pho. Good service. Never have to wait (is a hidden gem, imho), although I bet it's busy for lunch (we only ever go for dinner). It's clean (which is always a pleasant surprise for a place on the Fax) albeit a little sterile, but I'll take that any day of the week. read more

Great pho and the broth was very flavorful! I got the pho GA and it was delicious! I will definitely be returning!

OOOO! I'm excited about this place! The central location is perfect, I hate having to drive so far out to get Pho. Plus, the broth is brothy and not sweet like most places. The decor is modern and clean (although, they should play music cuz it can get pretty quiet and uncomfortable). The staff was super duper friendly and helpful. And geez louise, it just tastes GOOD! Thank you Pho-natic, you are my new crush and I think I'll come visit you often! xoxoxo P.S. Please start serving beer! Thank you! read more

Came here for lunch solo as I'm visiting the city for work. No wait, friendly staff and delicious pho! If I was staying longer I would come back again. read more

Meh is right. Egg rolls were not good, not crispy enough, felt like they were bought in bulk frozen and not given any love. Bun had very few veggies. Sauce was boring and not flavorful enough. Pho broth was also boring and without enough flavor. No fish sauce or garlic chili paste to make up for it. Service was fine. read more

Such an awesome family owned pho restaurant! The broth is made every morning by one of the families elders, always fresh and delicious! Considering the location the prices are more than reasonable, lower than both of the pho restaurants on the 16th St Mall with food that puts both of those places to shame. Also the customer service is delightful. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and I'm given a warm welcome with a smile as soon as I walk in the door. Make sure to get some boba or a nice pot of jasmine tea and a side order of spring rolls with your meal you went regret it. read more

"This shit is RIGHT." - D'Angelo Barksdale, Season One, 'The Wire' That absolutely sums it up. So go check it out. Oh, put down the damned menu, you know exactly what you're gonna have. Because chances are, the only way you know about this place is because you have a friend who tipped you off (whom you know owe a good lunch) because they knew how much you love pho. So you already know what you want. You want the dac biet pho, and an order of gui cuon to go with it. You know what you're hoping for, and believe you me... you're gonna get it here. The pho is PROPER. Hearty, beefy, aromatic broth that speaks for itself. Happy little circles of fat dancing like Russian ballerinas around thick slabs of fatty brisket, delicately bobbing chunks of perfectly tender tendon, lines of perfectly crisp tripe, and lovely thin slices of sirloin. But wait... what's that?!?!? Is that a big ol' chunk of scallion? Why, yes it is, intrepid gourmand! Something that I've never really encountered in a bowl before, but good LORD does it taste great. The condiment plate is perfect. Period, point blank. Nothing surprising, and the culantro is crispy and delicious (though strangely thorny...?). Go ahead and order the ca phe sua, it'll be brought right out, creamy and icy and delicious. The menu doesn't really throw any surprises at you, it's all stuff that you've had before, and chances are that it's pretty good. I've only had the pho, but I had two different styles of their rolls, and they're absolutely GREAT. The crispy BBQ rolls will make you happy. The crisp BBQ'ed meats inside offset the veggies and soft wrapping exquisitely. And the fish sauce for dipping?? Once again, nothing surprising, but you haven't had tastier. So basically, when I went there, I was promptly greeted by the very friendly staff, asked whether I'd like 'shade or window', and meticulously attended to. I ordered the iced vietnamese coffee, and when the gentleman brought it out, I noticed that it wasn't exactly dripping very fast. By the time my rolls came out, the coffee had barely moved a few centimeters. The waiter immediately noticed it and brought me a new, much more enthusiastic setup. I never even had to say a word. The people were very friendly. I welcomed them to the neighborhood, and they seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the fact that they were representing quality food in a neighborhood that was happy to have them. Now, they haven't had their 'grand opening' yet, and they don't have any TV's, and they don't have anything crazy on the menu that you're gonna look at and think 'WOW I've never had that before OMFG WANT!!!', but what they do have is a complete menu with things that you're gonna want to eat, subsequently eat, and forevermore return for. Oh. They don't really have vegetarian options. But then... if you're a vegetarian... ... well, Watercourse not too far. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Pho, but my friend lives nearby and he was craving it so we went. I'm proud/ embarrassed to say that we probably go four days a week now. We have our usual order, b4 the delicious noodle bowl with fried crispy egg rolls on top. The meal is warm and fresh, filling and light all at the same time. Wash it down with some vietnamese iced coffee and it's a perfect day!!! Only quirk, they fixed the no music issue, by playing cheesy 80's elevator smooth jazz. It's easy to drone out the tinny sax while slurping up delicious noodles. read more

If you work or live within shooting distance of Pho-natic, there's a good chance this will become your pho place. It deserves to be. I love pho. The broth, the noodles, the meats and the tasty add-in ingredients. Couple that with a nice environment, friendly fast wait staff, you've got a winner. It is across the street from the Capitol building, which gives a nice view for window tables. Parking is at meters on surrounding streets. I've always had luck finding a space on Sherman. By the way, the bowls are huge. I just get a small and feel full. read more

I wouldn't call myself a pho expert. If anything I am an Italian expert. Anywho, I work downtown and thus pho is just about no existent. Enter Pho-Natic. Here is what I like: - The veggies there are super fresh - The give you a lot of stuff to put into the broth - The tofu is great there... they seem to pan fry it before hand which is awesome - They don't deliver. This forces me out of my office and away from my desk. What I don't like: - Slowest service ever even for pick up. I called in an order. Told it would be 15 to 20 minutes. 45 minutes later my food is ready. Jebus! read more

A pho virgin no longer am I! My first venture into the world of Vietnamese cuisine was here at Pho-natic a couple of days ago. I was never really sure what the phenomenon was about pho, but I think I might understand that now that I've had it. It's a simple meal that is more of a meal. This aint no Campbell's Soup going on here. Not that there is anything wrong with Campbell's, but pho is much greater than any canned soup. I asked questions after looking over the menu and the waitress was more than helpful in providing me with the knowledge to make my decision easier. I ordered the "Do bien" or simply the seafood pho or #6 on the menu. I started my meal with a spring roll filled with grilled meats. The fish sauce that came with it was wonderful! When the pho arrived I took advantage of adding some of the extras that they present along with your pho. And the basil alone certainly adds to the flavor as well as the lime and the bean sprouts, etc. Pho definitely was an adventure that I am happy I made. The service was excellent and the food was perfect. Will I come back to Pho-natic? Pho sho!! read more

I must have walked or driven by this place 200 times over the past few years, and always thought I should stop in. Never had, until the other day; boy, am I glad I finally did! Let's cut to the chase: the location is weird. Right by Civic Center Park, the Capital, the Courts, East Colfax, all that. Always sketchy people being sketchy outside, some weird dude yelling about something, etc. Move past that, and you're fine. The inside blew me away! It was quiet, super clean, nicely decorated, and much larger than I imagined it to be from the outside. The staff was very polite, friendly, and provided good service. The BBQ spring rolls were tasty, with a lovely crunch and a sweet dipping sauce. Sauce is pretty watery, something a bit thicker would have been nice. The pho was delicious! Hot, flavorful, with big chunks of meat and noodles. They presented it with raw meat on top, ready to be pushed into the hot broth to cook up. I loved the presentation. The price is a little bit higher than usual for pho places, by ~$1.50. But for the convenience of not driving all the way to South Federal and back to City Park, that was well worth it. Glad there is a great pho place nearby. Will be back. read more

My wife and I love pho.....and we hadnt had any since May and it was having an effect on our health and spirits. In these dark days we also relocated and moved to Denver from the East coast but coildnt find good options on our road trip. We got here, we got settled and it was time for the "pho fanatics" to get some pho. Pho-natic with all its reviews was an easy choice for location and strength of feedback and man did it NOT disappoint!!! interesting sparse decor and then we had our pho in front of us and all was forgotten as we dropped our heads down to slurp/gulp/munch for 30 minutes of silent, orgasmic eating!! they stuff the pho with meat, give you a basil leaf tree and a Costco sized batch of sprouts and then also provide you with a lemongrass chili oil (our first try) that is potent but so flavorful and complementary to the pho. what else, you ask?? Jeez man - get out here and give them a try!!! read more

Still an a-ok place. Nothing special, sizes are about the same, prices a little different than website but still reasonable. The veggie pho has lots packed in, though, with thinly sliced tofu. It was tasty. I usually love crunchy onions, but I guess just not on pho. read more

I tried pho-natic for the first time yesterday and I thought it was pretty effing good. Admittedly, I'm no pho connoisseur - in fact I've only ever eaten it twice - but it was really, really delicious. Both my boyfriend and I ate the tofu pho, which was sort of bland upon arrival, but that's what the fixin's are for! I loaded mine up with bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno, lime, hoisin, and of course tons and tons of sriracha. Um... yum. Also with dinner I drank some boba tea, which they source from Lollicup. It made my night. So sweet, milky, and deliciously chewy! Make sure you get the boba when asked! So. Good. The service was very polite and efficient. Plus, I have to give the guys who work there big ups for politely but firmly dealing with a man who wandered in off Colfax and started asking the diners for change. Even when the panhandler got extra pissed at being asked to leave, the Pho-natic servers kept their cool. Good job. The only reason I've left off one star would be the somewhat sterile environment, which was made even more profound by the utter lack of music. Though full, the dining room was oddly quiet, with everyone speaking in hushed "museum" voices. Some softly playing music would really liven it up in there. *Ha, I hadn't even noticed that all of you other yelpers had already mentioned this. Good job, yelpers.* I'll be back, "pho" sure. Hardy har har! read more

Very good pho. Prompt, highly professional staff. This isn't a traditional pho spot. You know, the one where the 95 year old grandmother is schleping in the back stirring the broth for 48 hours straight before her grandkids come in and yell at her to stir faster. It's new Age. 10/10 read more

$10 for a huge bowl of fresh pho..yum! The interior decor of the restaurant is really modern and clean looking, almost like a futuristic diner, with subdued accent lights and canvas prints, blue accent walls, and neat flooring. The host was friendly and chatted with us while we waited for our pho to-go. $21 for two large phos with brisket and rare steak and all the fixings, as well as a spring roll appetizer. The spring rolls were delicous, hot and crunchy, savory dipped in the sweet/spicy sauce. The pho was great, fresh mint, bean sprouts, and all that other green stuff. The rare steak was frozen....but of course cooked under the hot broth, and tasted good. Definitely recommend for a fresh, healthy meal. read more

I'd let it buy me a drink. It's good and tasty with nothing wrong that I've found. It just doesn't blow me away if I had to choose to drive to this pho or another, I'd pick another. However I am happy to eat here when I'm in the neighborhood. Staff is pleasant and quick. read more

I would definitely have to say this place is PHOnomenal and I don't know why it doesn't get more 5 stars OF perfection. From beginning to the end, the service was fantastic, attentive and friendly! Based on my gluten allergy she made some fantastic recommendations and everything was delicious! I had the spring rolls with mixed beef and pork as a starter and they were awesome. Then I had rare steak which I've had before at other places and it was definitely wonderful. Also, I tried the Vietnamese coffee for the first time and it was outstanding! Looking forward to returning soon and bringing a friend next time! read more

Not the best place I've ever had but a close runner up. Great customer service, fantastic pho and a very chill but urban atmosphere. Just moved to Denver from San Francisco so I can be annoying picky about my Asian cuisine but pho-natic did not disappoint me. On point with refill, asking me I was doing, quick to bus tables to have ready for the next customer, and just being a great place to meet up and have a nice quality meal. Also it's right across from the Capitol building so nice scenery if you are into that. Final opinion: this place is a must if you love Vietnamese food especially pho. read more

Pho-natic - Pork "Bún" rice-noodle bowl. Yum! :-p - Vietnamese Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This place is extremely over rated on yelp. We are big fans of pho and have tried many different places around the Denver metro area. This place was my least favorite of any of the restaurants we have tried. First off the portion sizes are very small in comparison to all of the other restaurants, and they are VERY skimpy on proteins! My boyfriend order large well done brisket pho and received 4 pieces of brisket that were about 2 inches x 2 inches each. We also ordered pork egg rolls (2 very small egg rolls for $5.00), and the meat was so grisly it was pretty much inedible. In addition to that the food is very bland. I ordered the pork noodle bowl and it was completely tasteless. Even the fish sauce was bland. I love pho, and there are so many great options. This place however is not one of them! It is extremely close to my home, but I will not be returning here. It is absolutely worth the extra 15 minutes to drive to Pho Duy or Pho 95! read more

Boyfriend and I are sick, so pho sounded perfect. I called to order and picked up about 15 minutes later. I was a bit surprised to get two full grocery bags, but when I got home, it made sense. Each bag had a container of broth, and then a square takeout box with the noodles and meat, and garnishes (plum/hot sauce, sprouts, thai basil, limes, ect). We really liked the ability to add the garnishes we like in the restaurant. Everything was delicious, the broth wasn't too salty, and the noodles and meat heated quickly when we poured the broth over. read more

Easy, quick, tasty pho in Capitol Hill. I have come here for lunch a number of times, and have had the pho, rice, and noodle plates, as well as the fried rice with pork and shrimp. This is a great place to go for a quick lunch, as the service is attentive, rapid, and friendly. All the food is great, and the portions are huge. Whenever I get takeout, I normally have to split the noodles or rice into two portions, as the amount given is a total feast. The prices are all pretty good for the neighborhood as well. It isn't the best pho i've had in Denver, but I think it deserves five stars based on the quality, rapid service, and good experience I've had across the menu items. Be aware they close at 8pm generally, so not an option for a late dinner. read more

First a little disclosure. I'm in town on business from Orange County, CA where we have Little Saigon. This is not even close and a couple of the places on Federal are much more authentic. Here's how I see it. 1. Service 4 Stars 2. Cleanliness 4 Stars 3. Atmosphere 3 Stars. Does it really matter? 4. Portions Price/Value Proposition 5 Stars 5. Food 2 Stars I was originally going to order my favorite Bun Bo Hue but I felt it was not going to be authentic from the description. Instead I had the #19 Pho. Based upon the Pho I'm glad I didn't order the Bun. I would have been more disappointed. The beef was fine, but it was the broth. It tasted like watered down beef bullion. It was very very bland without the rich flavor that should be present. A lack of proper seasoning and short cooking time minimum of 12 hours. Also a little Cilantro along with the Basil would have been nice. Then there was no Crushed Chili Oil. That's a sin. A couple of the places on Federal come much closer. Sorry but 3 Stars only due to the other factors. read more

What else can I say.. This place is THE BEST. I have eaten in house as well as ordered takeout and regardless of the method of retrieval, the quality is always fantastic. Authentic broth, fresh and plentiful ingredients are always provided. In addition to the amazing pho, the service is outstanding. Still great! Stopped in with the kids today for lunch on a cold snowy day. Yum!

Located right across the street from the Capitol building, finally a more central place to compete with the places on Federal! As pointed out already, the building has been quite a few places but you can tell straight away that this wasn't just a quick make over, the interior has been entirely remodeled and is clean and bright and the staff were fast and friendly. I ordered a medium bowl with chicken and apart from putting in too much rooster sauce, it was awesome. I also had a smoothie with the little jelly balls that if you leave long enough, swell up so they wont make it up the straw :O) read more

First time for pho. Total newbie. Won't be my last. This was my first venture in to pho (apperently pronounced "fuh") and I really liked it. If you've seen pictures of it and think that it's noodles and other stuff in a bowl of broth, you're right. It's a really good soup. I had mine with rare steak and tendon. When in Rome...right? It was delicious. I'm not sure if the tendon is for consumption or to enrich the broth, but I ate some anyway. I also got the Vietnamese coffee with the sweetened condensed milk on bottom. Wow, that's like candy. I recommend it as a nice dessert and would probably cool down your palate if you order something extraordinarily hot. Just the tip - go early if you're going at lunch. It fills up fast. read more

Subpar pho. Our bill was only $12 for a couple of waters and two small bowls of pho, so I'm not really complaining, but I am disappointed with what I got. After experiencing the magic of Pho 95 a few times over, I don't know if anything else will ever compare. But Pho-natic is nowhere near Federal so it would be unfair to compare them to 95. I got the usual Chin, well done brisket. The bowls were noticeably smaller, and they kind of skimped on the noodles and the meat. We went at a weird time, 430 or so, so maybe that had something to do with it? But still. Also, it seemed to me that the noodles were undercooked, and the meat overcooked. It was not as tender as I'd like it to be, and my companion agreed on both of those things. I still LOVE pho and it's not like it was inedible. I enjoyed my meal, and the service was great. The decor is really nice and modern too, but didn't feel like much of a Vietnamese restaurant to me. If I'm on Colfax and am craving Pho as deeply as I was that day maybe I'll hit Pho-natic again, but chances are I'll make the trip to Federal. read more

Yesterday I went to Phonatic for the 4th time and it will definitely be my last. The previous times I went in the evening and everything was to my liking. I dig their broth, the eggrolls are tasty (although at $4 for 2 not a great value) and it appears to be clean (a problem with many pho joints.) One thing they could do better is put chili paste at the tables. Why will I not be back? Because their service this time was atrocious and cost me a $25 parking ticket. Let me explain. I saw they open at 10 am and I was already out and about so I walked in at 5 after...then promptly stood around for close to 15 minutes before the hostess/waitress came out from the back and noticed me. Ordered my pho (switched it up from my usual tofu and got the rare steak) along with some egg rolls. Was told the egg rolls would be 10 minutes. No problem. About 15 minutes later they came out. Most pho eaters know the soup usually comes out pretty quick. Not this time. Another 20 minutes after I finish the eggrolls the pho comes out, and it's LUKEWARM. First of all, if you say you open at 10 am but really aren't ready for customers until 11am, just open at 11am. You'll avoid angering customers who come in at 10am. Second, nothing is more disappointing than pho that gets cold before you can finish the bowl. So anyway, I'm cramming the food into my mouth to get back to my meter by 11:15 (I've never had a pho meal take more than an hour) when one of the employees shows up for work with a bag from mcdonalds and sits down in the dining room to eat it. Great, now my nostrils are filled with the smell of mcdonalds while I'm trying to eat. Not cool. Welp, I'm done eating and now it's time to pay the check. No check. Instead I get to hear my server discussing the merits of her iphone with a coworker. Eventually she comes out and gets me my check. When I leave it's a few minutes past 11:15. I'm dashing back to my car and hoping I can get away with a being a few minutes over. No such luck, there's a ticket waiting for me when I arrive. I have a weekly entertainment budget and I was going to use that money to buy records at black and read. Instead I drive home. Oh well. Pho Lee is my mainstay anyway. read more
