Located near the bay in Sunset Beach, allowing patrons to dine outside by the water. This place offers a beautiful view of the bay and docks, fresh salt air and a pretty good bar. The area is fairly calm and great for a day date... or any eating occasion. The lunch special, on weekdays from Monday-Friday, 11am- 3pm, offers any pho, with either 2 spring rolls or 2 eggrolls and a fountain drink. I usually pay a few extra dollars more to get the Thai tea. Still a great deal! Service is courteous and kind. May be a little slow if it's busy, but with this view- who really minds? I ordered the diced filet mignon with fried rice which consisted of the fried rice, bell pepper, onion and mushroom garnished with cucumber, carrots and lettuce. It was amazing!! It's always nice to order something and it be even better than what you could expect. Pho May is my go to Vietnamese spot! The food is that perfect traditional Vietnamese taste. I always get the rare steak pho and it's amazing. Along with that, I'll get the spring rolls which are always super fresh. The service is wonderful! Took care of me when I died and my food is always ready on time when I order out. The ambience is awesome: there is a beautiful view of the marina and when the weather is good, they will keep the doors open, so the fresh air comes in. It baffles me that this establishment is not more crowded than the three times I've been here. I'm consistently blown away by the quality of everything I've ever ordered. Today was takeout, and as usual, the chicken pho (I prefer egg noodles to the rice ones that come w/ it) was savory and delectable. The chicken is thinly sliced and always juicy which is great b/c I've had this dish elsewhere and thought that it tasted like chewing on shoe soles. The fried pork wontons were also exceptional b/c they were loaded w/ savory meat that melts in the mouth. The orange chicken and fried rice dish were super tasty as well. I have come here a few times. I really like sitting outside and having my food out there. If you decide to sit outside just make sure to check in with one of the staff first so that they know you are out there. Just to name a few things I like from here were the spring roll, this one beef and rice plate that is common in many Vietnamese restaurants. Stopped in on Tuesday 4/8 right before my Tattoo session, and the Male Bartender that was working by himself was very kind and greeted me, came out to immediately take my order. I started with the Fried Pork Rolls (came with 5) and then ordered the Pho Noodles (No meat, Beef broth), side of Broccoli too! Everything was delicious, and fresh ingredients for sure. Restaurant with an open space and a beautiful view of the harbor! Very kind server as well! I got the veggie noodle pho. With this one, I was asked if I wanted the beef or vegetable broth. I got the vegetable one, which was clear and light. The dish came with lots of noodles and veggies, and tofu which was crisped well! I just wish the noodles were less clumped together and some of the veggies were different (eg less cabbage and broccoli). This was a good bowl of pho and more on the Americanized side. The shrimp spring roll appetizer was pretty good a little small but whatever I ordered the chicken flour and the broth tasted really bad. I had a bad aftertaste like maybe the beef bones that used freezer burn and just a bunch of MSG and yes, I understand that use chicken breast, but it also tasted freezer burn and it was not good.
